Wizard World Chicago: Anyone Going?

I know it's a little early to think about, but is anyone going to this convention in August? According to the latest Inquest, they are holding the DC Heroclix World Championship. How many of y'all have gone to this convention in the past, and what did you think? Also, has anyone out there been a volunteer there, and if so, how was it and what did that entail? Thanks all.

I am probably going, since I have all of my family members back in Chicago. So going would give me a TON of stuff to do.


Just PLEASE tell me that the DC Champs is set at 300 points!!! I don't think a 200-pt. DC army can be viable.

I have been Wizard World the last five years running and have volunteered two years. The show is quite expansive, and I have never gotten bored. Of course I am also one of those that enjoys looking for lost gold in the dime boxes of endless s#!t. As for volunteering, one year I was one of the guys that "made people move along" after Quesada signed their comics. That same year we had to try to find Kevin Smith for his lecture and after twenty frantic minutes of no luck, he was finally found waiting in line for his own lecture. Some of the work sucks because you are just standing around or running errands for people. But, it is a lot like being an intern. When there is nothing else going on you can talk with them. Two years ago one guy was talking to Mark Allesi, President of CrossGen, while keeping a line in order and ended up having dinner with him about a story idea. I don't know if anything ever happened, but dinner doesn't come cheap.

Has anyone heard anything more on the DC Tourney?

I will be in Chicago for Wizard Wolrd, but I haven't found tourney info.

Any help is appreciated.

If that comes out in August that might make it Indy Klix prerelease comes out about then like Magecon with Xplosion.
