in the latest wizkids newsletter, kevin goddard says a dc set will come out "soon." C'mon, can't they just give a rough estimate already? I'm sure they have a date set! Maybe i'll buy a case but alot of advance notice would help!

What would you consider "alot" of advanced notice? I mean, its still over a month until Xplosion comes out.

I wondered the same thing myself. Didn't they give us Xplosion news in December or something? I agree, even if they said "Sometime in the summer" I'd be partially satisfied!

Since nothing was announced at Toy Fair 2003 (both the ones in the UK and the US) then we will probably hear something when GAMA Trade Show in March comes around. Both a date for IndyClix and the DC expansion should be announced then. Just have some patience.

Probably because the next set won't be called Emerald Dawn... The real question should be..."when is the next DC set coming out?"

Unfortunately, they are under no real obligation to answer since they've chucked a bone at us already with the confirmation of the next DC set currently being worked on.

That my friends, is just enough to send our hearts o'fluttering and our minds o'racing...

I want to know, too. Xplosion's coming out next month. Indyclix is due next, about 2 months later. I'd say mid- to late summer's probably a fairly accurate guesstimate.

But really, how hard would it be to confirm it for us? I'm sure they've got an internal release schedule, probably through the end of the year anyway. What would it hurt them to drop a date for the next couple. Even just "August" if they don't want to be that specific. I suppose they don't want to get swamped with complaints if there turns out to be a delay. If they don't tell us, they can't be accused of being late with anything.

According to the WK 2003 catalog the next DC set will be out in June. They don't have a name listed it is called DC expansion #1

For a large selection of both arguments and reasoning, (and the occasional fact) , regarding these matters, please refer to the thread

Heroclix Release Dates

.................................................................................................... .....

Postulated Heroclix Release List, 2003 / 2004

1) Sinestro -January 2003 (yup, that happened)
(2 months, then we get...)

2) XPlosion -March 2003 (2 months, then we get...)

3) Indy Clix - May/June 2003 (UPDATE EDIT....The Johnny Alpha Promo comes with a little card which says
Indy Clix Starter Set - $19.95
Indy Booster Packs - $6.95 )

(2 months, then we get...)

4) DC expansion (Emerald Dawn ? Legion Forever ?) - sounds like July/August 2003 - for the Conventions, but may be earlier due to LE rumours.... ie Green Lantern LE Figure before then...
(2 months, then we get...)

5) Another bigfig, maybe Hal Jordan in a Green construct (?) Sept/Oct 2003. (2 months, then we get...)

6) The "new" Marvel expansion ( Likely to be the Defenders, and to include Namor and Silver Surfer) by / for Christmas, Dec. 2003

7) Then, in 2004 we probably get 2 Marvel expansions, 2 DC Expansions, possibly an Indy expansion, and at least 2 more Bigfigs - assumedly Giant Man and maybe Pheonix (Rachel or Jean in an energy bird construct...although this now looks less likely...) to balance up the 2 DC constructs...

...but remember it's all speculation, and we don't have any actual dates (or set names) for anything past Xplosion.

This is, of course, true.

However, release dates matter (see the Megacon threads), so let's try and work them out anyhow. Little snipits of information from here and there can be used to build up a bigger picture...

Let's see how close we get...

Noman, I think you may be forgetting they make other games too. :)

Seriously though, they have been trying to do 1 release a month, but it appears they will go to 2 a month, since CSkies and MW:DFA are coming out in May... then again CSkies isn't really collectable, so that may be a factor too....

MK in April, I'm gonna guess Creepy Freaks in June/July... MK in Augustish....

It's really just too hard to tell right now...

No, I know they make other Games - MK doesn't count, (it's like MTG in that respect...) although MWDA does, and we know that the MWDA expansion release has seemed a bit delayed, and Crimson Skies, while a weird choice to produce, will find a niche market. The kids scarey game will probably be the least effective. However, I don't think any of them impinge on the projected release dates outlined above.

I know MK is their basic "cash crop" - but when you consider the sales figs for all forms of Heroclix I cannot believe they won't make HC releases a priority.

Continual upgrades is what keeps a collectble game going, and 2 monthly releases is, it seems to me, about right.

(There is a sugestion that the release is called "Cosmic Justice" rather than "Emerald Dawn." Shame. )
