Hey guys, I was playing a game recently and wondered about the trait that Superman and Flash have. Lets say I have the 20 speed Jay Garrick on the field and I want Superman and Flash to take his speed. Can I perplex Superman and Flash's speed to 23 ( If I had Max Mercury on the team ) or can I only use the speed? Please help, thanks. Much appreciated

Because it says replace but doesn't say "Locked," I'd say Max Mercury is A-Ok here.

A 23 speed Hypersonic beatstick with 4 damage and super strength? Yikes...

Right now they will be stuck with only a 20 speed.

When BN comes out they will get the 23 movement.

I'd like to chime in here and ask a Super/Flash question:

Can Superman/Flash be assinged Brillant Tactician?
I looked through the first 3 pages and couldn't find if someone had asked this allready.

I'd probably go with the Crisis Blue Beetle precedent and say that they can be assigned Brilliant Tactician, but can only use it after Flash has been chosen.

Technically, they don't have outwit...

Except it can't be used by The Flash, as they lose perplex when you get to the point where you get to choose Superman or the Flash...

Brilliant Tactician
Prerequisites: Outwit and Perplex

Choose a character.

Outwit does not need to show in the character's stat slot in order for the character to use this feat.

When the character uses Perplex, the character can affect every target friendly character that shares a team symbol or keyword with it. The character must have a clear line of fire to each target.

So it would be pointless at that point anyways

I didn't say it was a good combo... just that it should be legal. :p
Besides, they could always be healed back up to Perplex. Or get it some other way, like ICWO.

Awesome thanks everyone! This is VERY helpful because it could possibly make him broken so I just wanted to know if that was legal. Now that I know I have to wait for the new starter set, I will just do that...thanks again :)

If 20 speed is broken (which I don't think it is on this figure), 23 is broken as well. If 20 isn't, neither is 23. At that point it's sort of a drop in the bucket.

Just to summarize (make sure I followed):
You can assign Brilliant Tactician to Supes & Flash.
You can't receive he benefit unless you choose Flash, then heal back up to perplex.
Correct?

Could you receive the benefit if you also used ICWO? This seems like a case of a feat being used to meet the qualifications for another feat, so I would say that you can't.

If S/F is assigned BT and they get Perplex through ICWO and they have selected Flash (so they get Outwit), then Perplex (from ICWO or otherwise) can be used as per Brilliant Tact.

*whistle*

The big difference here is that you do not use ICWO to meet the prerequisites of the feat - for that you need powers actually present on the dial. Once the game has started it is fine to meet the prerequisites through other means though - that's why ICWO and Brilliant Tactician is such a good combo.

Oh, ICWO is giving perplex. I thought it was giving outwit, so you could use brill tac right away.

Yeah thats what I thought too. Norm, I see no reason why the front half of the dial (the Duo) could not be assinged Outwit through ICWO and then use BT on clicks 2 through 5. Please explain why it cannot.
