Oh starman#1 i used to have a teacher that had two ways of us getting 100 % on a test, one way was for you to get all the questions right and the other way was to get all the questions wrong. He explained it this way "If you can get all the questions wrong on the test that means you have to know the right answers to pick the wrong ones" so by that standard youre head of the class.

Match 24 takes place in the warehouse.
Another Fantastic Four team, led by Medusa enters the tournament. They have a good mix of abilites with the super-strong, charging, invulnerable Thing who will take some beating. Stretchy Mr Fantastic can prove a handful when he is hurt and able to outwit his enemies. Human Torch and Invisible Woman give them flight, a reasonable ranged option and running shot, with Medusa to tie them up close. Dont forget the Invisible Woman who is stealthy and extremely hard to hit, and can share her defense with others. Remember also that if one of the Medusa team is hurt, the others will come back stronger.
Facing them is the incredibly awesome Nightmare with high damage, invulnerability and ability to enhance people like the lethally effective Firelord. Firelord is truly to be feared with his incredibly dangerous ranged expertise. One very solid close combat option and one very solid ranged option, both to be feared. Elektra may be effective with ranged expertise at very short range, and the willpower of Doctor Octopus may prove useful. The Vampires are all useful, mainly with potentially lethal fangs, ability to steal life energy and regenerate. This team has only one flier, but is very capable.
Either side loses one of their big players quickly and they will probably go down.
The match begins with both teams in the yard, facing their respective double doors to the warehouse. Mr. Fantastic charges inside the warehouse and bears sharply left, as Torch boldy flies fully forward towards the enemy, dropping Thing directly behind him. The Invisible Girl also flies forward and takes up nearby stealthy cover behind an object.
On the other team, the rookie Vampire runs forward into the warehouse and Elektra enters the warehouse alongside her, hiding stealthily behind an object. Firelord flies directly behind the stealthy Elektra and drops Nightmare just behind the rookie Vampire, forming a 2 x 2 formation.
The Human Torch makes the first attacking move, flying forward and left with Thing, on a running shot. Torch blasts the rookie Vampire with a searing blast of flame and drops Thing. Thing grabs a motorbike and charges headlong towards Nightmare. Thing is going for the monstrous Nightmare early with a potentially match winning attack. Thing swings the motorbike with a potentially flattening move on Nightmare, but Nightmare shifts to one side and dodges the attack. It was a lucky escape for Nightmare. Thing could have casued very heavy damage. Nightmare retaliates, punching and clawing the Invulnerable Thing. Thing's hide protects him from all but very minor damage. Nighmtmare has scored the first hit between the two giants. The veteran vampire charges Thing with fangs flashing....
Dr Octopus moves from the back and uses his robotic arms to leaps over his advanced team and Thing, to land right next to the Human Torch. The Invisible Woman moves forward into more cover, and Mr Fantastic joins her, within range of Dr Octopus. Dr Octopus uses his strength of will to attack first and swings his metal arms at Torch. Direct hit to his neck! Torch is critcally hit and slammed backwards into a wall. The impact from the wall and the damage from the arms knocks Torch clean out! Impressive hit from Dr Octopus to eliminate the flaming one.
The Thing draws strength from defeat of his fallen comrade. Nightmare pushes himself to score again on the Thing though. The blows are incredible, but they are barely denting the Invulnerable Thing. A lesser figure would have been flattened from Nightmare's two attacks. Thing barely bats an eyelid though! Tremendous resilience. The veteran Vampire flashes fangs towards Thing for a potentially lethal bite, but critcally misses! Thing guides her jaw back to her and she bites her own arm. Thing swings a huge fist towards Nightmare, but again the pale faced figure dodges to one side. He can't seem to connect with one of his clobberin blows on the pale faced one.
Medusa charges forward to assist her team. Firelord advances over the friendly figures in front of him, as the rookie Vampire charges the new threat of Medusa. The Medusa four need to watch the vampires deadly fangs, and now Firelord is involved...
Elektra now has a clear sight of Thing and hopes to used her ranged expertise to slice him with her spear. Thing is wise to the move and swats the blade away. Things pushes, desperate to have some impact on the match, swinging for Nightmare. Again Nightmare is too quick for him as he ghosts to one side. Nightmare has finally broken through Thing's Invulnerability and he swings for the Tough one. Nightmare scores a very solid hit on Thing who is momentarily stunned at the strength of the blow. Nightmare is a vicious competitor, and now Thing knows it.
Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Woman both takes shots at Dr Octopus. Mr Fantastic misses, but the Invisible one scores a solid blast on Octopus who is puzzled at where the shot came from. He fires back at Mr Fantatsic, but his pain and confusion cause him to miss. The experienced Vampire leaves the start area and advances forward. Mr Fantastic decides to go all out, and pushes to take a ranged stretch-punch at the Rookie Vampire. His massive fist slams into her and the Vampire goes down quicker than a ##### at mardi-gras!
It is seven against four now, and Medusa will be disappointed at the loss of the Torch. They have failed to hurt Nightmare and Firelord, but have still got Thing and Invisible Woman, so this is a long way from over. Nighmare will be pleased that he is out fighting Thing though.
Medusa now is in fear of the line of sight that the fightening Firelord has on her, so she desperately incapacitates him from short range, entangling the fiery flier in her hair. Firelord is tied up but unharmed, but does not hesitate to push himself. Firelord tires himself in the process, but he unloads a fierce ranged expertise fireball towards Thing's back. The force of the flame hurls the tough Thing forwards and into the distance. The massive sheet of flame engulfs the clay coloured figure and he does not move. Firelord has torched the Thing! It's bad news for Medusa's Four, but Fantastic recovers slightly at the loss, and returns with renewed vigour. Medusa has lost Thing and Torch - and that is very ominous.
Elektra dives into cover and the veteran Vampire charges the long-haired Medusa. The Invisible woman, still in stealth, fires at Dr Octopus, but misses completely. It looks incredibly tough for the Medusa team to beat Firelord and Nightmare. The invisible one is their best, maybe only hope now.
The Nightmare team select the most exposed enemy, and Nightmare himself and the experienced Vampire charge the vulnerable Mr Fantastic. Fantastic proves he is no push over with another shape shifting solid fist on the Vampire that knocks her clean backwards where she came from. Medusa takes his lead and throttles the veteran Vampire with her long hairs.
Medusa's rally is short lived as Firelord strikes again with ranged expertise, sending a searing wall of fire that engulfs her. Medusa is singed badly, and takes heavy damage. Incredibly she remains on her feet though. Medusa swings for Octopus at short range with her hair, but misses totally.
The Invisible Woman fires at range and succeeds in knocking out the threat of the veteran Vampire. Medusa's team have taken heavy damage, and all they have to show for it is two KO'd Vampires. It is bleak point in the match for them, and Invisble Woman knows that they face an uphill struggle.
Nightmare swings for Mr Fantastic and connects. Fantastic doubles over as the wind is driven from him by the monstrous Nightmare. The experienced Vampire charges Mr Fantastic, and it is clear that the Nightmare team have chosen their next victim. Mr Fantastic scores a good punch on the lackey, dazing him. As the stretchy-one fights for survival, and recovers his breath, Doctor Octopus strikes with his metal limbs from short range and Mr Fantastic takes the shot to the face. Fantastic staggers back, knocked back by the blow.
Elektra moves up alongside Octopus to support him, and Firelord strikes again. Medusa is the target and victim, and has no chance of surviving a second hit from him. Medusa is badly burnt again and knocked out! Mr Fantastic draws a little strength from the loss of his leader, but now only he and the Invisible Girl remain.
The Invisible woman clobbers the Lackey with a critical hit and he panics at the seemingly invisible blow. She does not succeed is knocking him out though. Octopus scores another blow on Mr Fantastic who has lost motivation and the energy to continue. The Invisible Woman urges him to continue, but Nightmare charges headlong into both of them.
Mr Fantastic puts his hope in his Invisible team-mate and outwit. He twists around Nightmare, outwitting the invulnerable fiend and fires in a solid fist. Nightmare is too fast and dodges the attack with incredible agility.
Elektra and Firelord charge the Invisible Woman, who swings for Firelord but misses. The Invisible Woman is surrounded and despite her incredible defense, Fireolord scores with close combat, closely followed by Elektra. Invisible Woman rues her miss, as Nightmare hits home with a devestating attack that finishes her off.
Mr Fantastic recovers, but is all alone, and fails to incapitate the Invulverable Nightmare. Inevitably Nightmare finishes Fantasic off with a crucnching blow, and ends the hopes of the Medusa team.
The survivors to this one are Firelord, Elektra, Nightmare and Dr Octopus. This was a white-wash. Medusa's team failed to have any significant impact on their opponents and were essentially out-classed. Nightmare has proved his mettle in the fight with Thing, and backe dup by Firelord, this team could go a long way in the tournament.
The efforts of the Medusa team are best left forgotten I'm afraid.

I hardly had any doubt about that outcome.
Good performance by Nightmare and Firelord and this team will probally make it very far.

Next match, going for 13-9 (wow, big numbers, they scare me)
Can you imagine Nightmare on a team with a perplexer? Even as he takes damage his attack is so high he should almost never miss. I'm interested in seeing how this team would fare against one of the better DC teams. Outwit and Impervious might be a key to stopping Nightmare (and Firelord).
Nightmare is one of my favorite pieces and, although I don't think Medusa is a bad as some say, she doesn't make up for R Torch and Fantastic. This was a-whuppin'.

Well, it went pretty much the way we expected. Nightmare's high defense kept him from being hurt, while his high attack rendered Invisible Woman's high defense moot.
Enjoyable write up as always, tipplej.
Hard to believe we're on part 7 already! Eagarly awaiting the next match-up.

Man, that ##### at mardi gras line had me laughing out loud. Nice write-up tipplej. You took a painfully lopsided match and made it interesting.
Just to let you all know, I'm going to be running the scoreboard for tipplej from now on to help lighten the load on him some. This will of course mean that I will always be in first place with my surprisingly perfect record .... ;-) just kidding.
Well that was an easy one to pick :) FF is wayyyy overcosted....ahw ell. I guess they'll fix them in the next expansion they're in...only about 4 more to go to wait for that! lol

I can't believe one of the "Big 4" is no more! Eagletsi, we hardly knew you. Now it's a "Big 3"... Capt. Carl, Airdog, and I. Sigh... Eagletsi... Medusa? Why?
So Richards and the thing falls to the supernatural..at least Sue and Medusa will go on as minons of Nightmares..needed to replace the Ko'ed vampires anyways <grins>

A slaughter as predicted. I noticed my voting numbers didn't change on this match. I thought I had put in my vote for nightmares walking back in thread 5. I guess it got missed. The mardi gras line had me laughing as well. Great writeup tipplej.

Match 25 is a milestone that signifies we are getting near to the end of Round One of this incredible tournament of 64 teams and 379 figures.
The incredibly mobile Thor team comprises a full set of free-move Avengers, as well as two fliers, so they have great mobility. They also have the rookie Thor with his super strength, invulnerability and fast running-shot. Scarlet Witch may always pose a threat with probability control, and Wasp is often hard to hit, as well as being able to incapacitate the enemy big guns. Hawkeye can also hurt the big monsters from range and the veteran Captain America is very capable, able to outwit them when he nears his end. This team is ultra-mobile, fast and capable. They have plenty of different options to get past the Invulnerability on the other team. How well they can bring them to bear wil be crucial, as they know that Thor cannot beat Ultron and Doom on his own. Excellent options, and mobility, but a glass jaw or two in there as well.
I'm scared because I am looking at the 12th highest point figure in the tournament - the experienced Dr. Doom, who will be hoping to fare better than his veteran counterpart! He is Invulnerable, strong and has outwit, perplex and a host of other skills. He truly can give it and take it from close or range. Ultron is a real powerhouse too. Avengers to take this in a wash....Prob Control, two taxis, the useful if a lil overpriced Cap America, Quicksilver to tie up people, the only useful version of Hawkeye...this is one great team! I hope this one goes far! :D

unless the avengers play really conservative and keep thor healthy til he attacks they jsut dont have anyother weapons as hawkeye's attack is just too low

Doom's team will be at a disadvantage trying to move in on the Avengers as only one will be able to attack (assuming one taxis the other and the last one moves up) also Doom will have to push a lot. I vote for the Avengers!

Robots of Doom have a defense that's just to high for the Avengers to get through. I'm also hoping that whoever is controlling the Doom team learns from the mistake the previous Doom team made. Never seperate Doom from his meat shield! If Thor takes 2 or 3 clicks of damage and Ultron still has invulnerablity, its all over for the Avengers.

I'm voting for Thor's Avengers.
I really fear the power of Doom and Ultron together though. The problem is that they will be limited in actions. Ultron's two clicks of inv are great, but knowing tipplej, ultron will not rest. He will be pushed past his toughest clicks in no time. Doom Mastermind would be useful, but I don't think it will be used effectively, and again, there will be pushing.
The avengers will have trouble damaging the robots, but they should be able to tie them up until there defences drop a little bit. Probability control is always useful, and I think cap's mighty shield will play a key role.
I vote for Robots of Doom.

This will be a Robots of Doom win, and here's why: Only Thor and Hawkeye can dent Doom and Ultron's invulnerability. Thor can only do it for 2 clix, a few more if you count super strength. Hawkeye can only attack one of them at a time.
On the otherhand, Ultron can do 3 damage for 5 clicks. Doom can do it for 3. Doom has perplex at the top of the dial. They both fly and have 2 attacks.
The numbers just don't add up for the Avengers, even with the Scarlet Witch.

Yeah... Although I much prefer the Vetran Doom to his li'l experienced buddy, the Avengers just don't have enough Invulnerability stoppers to get through Doom and Ultron's defense. Thor for a couple clicks, Hawkeye... And the Wasp, once the baddies are hurt enough to make her seven attack useful. Still a couple good hits on Thor and the Avengers are in trouble.

Dr Doom's team for the win
On turn one doom taxis ultron and he perplexs ultrons damage to 4.
Ultron clobbers thor and suddenly thor's 3 damge clicks are gone.
Then the turn after that they clobber hawkeye until he's not useful anymore.
Ultron and Dr. Doom make sure that they leave cap for last since they don't want to be outwitted.
The doombot stay in the corner and picks it's nose. Then it realizes that it doesn't have a real nose and it goes into battle to pick off the stragglers that doom hasn't quite beaten to death.
The say this Starmans a bad motherfu++er.

If not for Scarlet Witch this would be much easier but I am still going with Robots of Doom.
I actually think either team could win and dont particularly like TippleJ's style of pushing BUT.....I think it will be more painful to read the Avenger's slowly get picked apart then the other way around. That make any sense?

Let's see... Capt. Carl sides with the Robots. Eagletsi, former member of the one time "Big 4", sides with the Avengers (another error perhaps?). And Airdog, the second of the now "Big 3" still hasn't given his vote. Quite an interesting situation near the top of the "List". Well, as the third member of the "Big 3", I'm going to have to side with the Capt. and vote for the Robots. It's basically 2 vs. 2: Doom and Ulton vs. Thor and Hawkeye. Waiting for Airdog's vote!

Going with the Robots of Doom here. I Don't think they can stop the mad adamantium robot and his metal-clad cohorts.
I'm going Avengers on this one. It's against my better judgment, but I just can't vote for Doom. I just can't. Evil must never prevail ... however, I'm afraid that it just might.
If Doom can hurt Thor and take out Hawkeye, it'll be over for the Avengers. But, I'm still going to hope for good to win.

Very ugly choices to make here.
Avengers have a major advantage on actions. Everyone moves for free, they have enough people that they don't have to push every turn, they have leadership should they need that extra attack...while Doom's team has 3 people & three actions. Period. Sounds like pushing, which will be this team's big downfall.
And why? Because pushing will give away their defense for free. As they are right now, Doom's team can all but ignore most of the Avengers. Why? Because they can't hurt 2 of the 3 villians. Hit Thor hard and he's not hurting them. Hit Hawkeye period and he's not doing much. But when they have to push themselves out of Invulnerability suddenly the rest of the Avengers become a threat again.
So the question becomes 'can Doom's bots hurt the Avengers badly before they hurt themselves badly?' And that's all going to come down to the dice rolls. The certainly have the potential to do it. Just like the Avengers, with their numbers, certainly have the potential to make the bots into skrap.
No clear winner, no clear advantage. Sounds like coin time to me. And old George Washington says...

Tough one to call but I have an odd feeling Avengers will pull through. So put me down for Thor and his buddies.
Well, texaswashingto, I am going to have to side with you on this one. E. Doom is one of my fav figs to play throw in ultron and a doombot and this team should be able to take out thor with little problem.
My choice is... these Avengers just haven't got what it takes to take on this Doom squad. They're outranged and easily pummeled into uselessness against the superior numbers and abilities of Doom. But the overall play of it could be tricky, and the match could swing on a few choice clutch decisions that change the numbers dramatically. But, I'll still go with the 18 defense of Ultron and Doom's Masterminding. Provided he remembers to haul along a slough target this time.

Getting rid of the score table is a great help to me, as it takes time to accumulate, record and amend 60+ votes.
The only thing I can think of else would be for someone to write the text that goes with the match preview, detailing each teams strengths and weaknesses. I always type that with the points score for each teams and their list of figures. That doesn't take too long normally for me though really.
I managed to spew out a full write up yesterday in one sitting, for match 27 and it's a classic. I am playing out match 28 tonight, so I seem to be picking up a little steam again.
BTW if anyone wants to add their own features, such as kill record for the figures, or a rating system for best figure performances out of their class, or a sideways discussion then feel free. Maybe even a ist of the highest point remaining 50 figures in the tournament. I don't know Any ideas?
I am quite happy now to do the preview, play the match and do the write up now. It would be difficult to pass any of that out really, but thanks for the offers.
I still say we should have a vote for MVP by the end of this, and I elect Logan int he match that he single handedly won by himself against the Super Skrull match. Also, we should have a vote by the end for favorite match, mine being the Shield matchup....great write up, it was an all out war with a great setting :)

Starman picked the Avengers, so I should automatically pick Doom. I like the Avengers chances but I don't know if they are strong enough to overcome Doom, Ultron and Starman. I pick the Robots. Because of the above argument and because they have "frickin" laser's in their "frickin" heads.

Ahhh, I remember back in the good old days when there was just one tournament to go to. None of these fancy dan choices that youngsters get nowadays....I remember when you could take 10p (about $15 by current exchange rates lol) and buy a weeks supply of sweets, a comic and still have change for a takeaway on the busride home.
All this faction based nonsence? Kids nowadays don't know they're alive....chess in the park surrounded by lonely old men who smell of boiled cabbage - thats REAL life....bah humbug!

Match 25 is a milestone that signifies we are getting near to the end of Round One of this incredible tournament of 64 teams and 379 figures.
The incredibly mobile Thor team comprises a full set of free-move Avengers, as well as two fliers, so they have great mobility. They also have the rookie Thor with his super strength, invulnerability and fast running-shot. Scarlet Witch may always pose a threat with probability control, and Wasp is often hard to hit, as well as being able to incapacitate the enemy big guns. Hawkeye can also hurt the big monsters from range and the veteran Captain America is very capable, able to outwit them when he nears his end. This team is ultra-mobile, fast and capable. They have plenty of different options to get past the Invulnerability on the other team. How well they can bring them to bear wil be crucial, as they know that Thor cannot beat Ultron and Doom on his own. Excellent options, and mobility, but a glass jaw or two in there as well.
I'm scared because I am looking at the 12th highest point figure in the tournament - the experienced Dr. Doom, who will be hoping to fare better than his veteran counterpart! He is Invulnerable, strong and has outwit, perplex and a host of other skills. He truly can give it and take it from close or range. Ultron is a real powerhouse too. The three Robots of Doom start up on one of the roof tops. Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye begin on a rooftop, whilst the rest of the Avengers take their position at street level. Both teams are wary about allowing the other team's big hitter(s) to attack first.
The Doombot flies forward to the edge of the rooftop, inviting the Avengers to attack. The Avengers resist the urge to send Wasp and Thor to attack him which would certainly allow a taxi attack from Ultron and Doom. Instead, Hawkeye moves forward on the roof, supported by Scarlet Witch behind him. Hawkeye has a range advantage over the Doombot on the other roof.
Doom desices that he will attack, and is prepared to risk a Thor/Wasp taxi attack. Doom flies Ultron forward to the roof edge, alongside the Doombot. Ultron has the range to attack Hawkeye and unloads with a fierce energy bolt, perplexed by Dr Doom. The combined attack slams into Hawkeye at maximum range on the other rooftop. The archer is hurt very badly from the attack, and drops his bow in pain and shock. Vicious attack from the silver robot.
The inevitable response comes, as Scarlet runs to the roof edge ahead of Hawkeye. Wasp carry's Thor forward in the street and drops him beside a motorbike. Thor grabs the heavy object and charges down the street towards Doom's building, on a running shot. Thor hurls the bike upwards at Ultron for a potentially damaging shot. Ultron dodges on the roof edge and despite probability influence from Scarlet, the bike misses! Crucial miss from Thor who is left wide open in the street and was very unlucky to miss. Hawkeye gave him the opportunity and Thor blew it!
Captain America and Quicksilver sprint ino the street alongside Wasp for flight options. Thor is ahead of them, on his own. Thor needed the first move on the big-men and the Avengers risked Hawkeye to get it. Their leader disappointingly did not make it stick.
Ultron can't resist the follow up and pushes himself to attack the exposed Thor, with perplex assistance from Dr Doom behind him. Scarlet does everything she can with probability to influence the attack, but the invulnerable Thor takes medium damage and is knocked backwards in the street. Another good solid shot from the pushed Ultron. The Doombot makes a strategic move and carries the pushed Ultron backwards on the rooftop to safety.
Hawkeye retrieves his bow and moves painfully to the roof edge to join the Scarlet Witch. Dr Doom is a step back from the roof edge so Thor cannot see him from the street, and instead flies right and picks up a huge forklift. Captain America dashes alongside Thor and it is clear that they are preparing to assault the roof. Wasp makes the first assault though, grabbing Quicksilver and flying him up to the roof allowing them both to engage Dr Doom. Quicksilver attacks with a lighting fast flurry of attacks and with the help of multiple attacks and Scarlet's welcome interference from the other roof, he scores a medium hit on Dr. Doom. Doom takes minor damage and inevitably his armour becomes fully invunerable afterwards. Wasp decides to push herself for a relatively easy incapacitate attack on Doom that would both slow him up and hurt him. Incredibly she fails, even with Scarlet's influence and a very real opportunity to hurt the Invulnerable green-cloaked Doom again is missed.
The Doombot taxis Ultron to the edge of the roof and the grey robot unloads another range blast at Thor. This time Ultron does hot have the benefit of Doom's perplex asistance, but he does just enough to score minor damage on the Invulnerable God. Before Thor can act, the eager and relentless Ultron pushes himself again, gambling on really scoring well on the biggest Avenger threat. The gamble pays off, as this time Ultron scores medium damage on the tough Thor, who is beggining to suffer from all the damage he is taking.
Angrily Thor grabs Captain America and storms the roof with Quicksilver and Wasp already up there. It was evident from the start that the Robots of Doom with their superior range had the option to sit tight on the roof. The Avengers need to get the whole team involved. Thor lands between Doom and Ultron, (not where I would like to be!) And drops Captain America next to Ultron. The Captain slams his shield into Ultron who is no longer Invulnerable, as a result of his push exertion. Captain America scores a minor blow on Ultron as the edge of the shield slams home in close combat. Amazing heroics from the Captain, damaging the fearsome Ultron in close combat. A true hero!
Captain America is also in close proximity to the Doombot, who swings for him. More heroics from the Captain though, as he dodges the blow. Thor is not so lucky though. He has come in close to Doom, and Doom makes the tough God pay with a vicous assault. Only Thor's toughness kept him alive, but he is in incredibly bad shape now, and can barely lift his hammer.
Thor desperately tries to break away from Ultron and Doom, but they keep him boxed in.
Wasp tries again to incapacitate the Invulnerable Doom and this time she connects. Doom is momentarily stunned. Incredibly Wasp has hurt him! Dr Doom retaliates on Wasp, but Scarlet is able to prevent the initial attack with her influence. Doom follows up with another attack. This time Doom scores a heavy blow on Wasp and she staggers backwards off the roof. She quickly pulls up and lands in the street before hitting the floor. Wasp flies backwards, retreating towards Scarlet and Hawkeye. Quicksilver leaves Doom to it, breaking away and charging Ultron and the Doombot.
Ultron clobbers Captain America up close for heavy damage, and the Captain realises that he should probably have kept his distance and relied on his shield. Maybe engaging Ultron was a mistake. Captain America angrily swings for Ultron and has a good chance of damaging the robot. Unfortunately he misses by a whisker as Ultron dodges. The Doombot punches towards the Captain, but his instincts and agility keep him out of trouble again. Quiksilver has one chance of helping him, with a potential critical hit on Ultron. Quiksilver puts everything into the attempt to smash Ultron's eyes. Quicksilver misses the critical hit by the tiniest of margins, striking the side of Ultron's head, failing to cause any damage. Thor finally rescues Captain America, breaking away and flying him backwards on the roof and away from the close proximity of Ultron. Captain America rasises his shield in defence. Ultron makes Quicksilver pay for his failure, hammering him into unconciousess! First KO of the match incredibly.
Captain America hurls his shield from short range at Ultron but misses. The Doombot quickly returns fire and catches him off guard. Captain America takes an energy blast in the chest and desperatley tries to outwit his opponents. Before he has the chance, he is struck by another blast from Dr Doom, despite Scarlet's attempts to help him. Captain America staggers for a moment, before Ultron pushes himself and fires too. A third blast slams into Captain America and he crunches into a battered heap on the rooftop - a broken and defeated hero. With two figures down and Thor in heavy trouble, things look bad for the Avengers. They have fought bravely but have been gradually overpowered by the relelntless pushing assault.
Thor throws his hammer at Ultron, but critically misses. As Thor throws the hammer with a last gasp of strength and energy, he collapses, exhausted!
Dr Doom advances to the edge of the roof to secure range on the three remaining Avengers at the edge of the opposite roof. Before the Avengers can react, the Doombot flies Ultron forward into the street and Ultron fires. He unleashes three energy blasts, one at each Avenger! Scarlet desperately tries to influence the shot, but Ultron is too accurate, and Scarlet and Hawkeye all take minor damage. What a shot by Ultron.
Hawkeye fires an arrow at Ultron but it bounces harmlessly off the concrete street. Scarlet Witch also makes a short range attack on Ultron. No chance! Wasp charges Ultron, but before she even gets close she is hit by an energy blast from Dr Doom that finishes her off!
Ultron repeats his double attack and despite bold probability efforts from Scarlet, he KO's Hawkeye and hurts Scarlet. Ultron has been very impressive today.
Scarlet fails to critically hurt and damage Ultron, despite her probability control. Ultron bides his time and Scarlet pushes herself for another double-attempt at a critical. When she fails, Ultron fires a plasma bolt that finishes the battered Witch and the Avenger's off! This one's over and all three Robots of Doom survived!
Walk over! Thor missed his crucial opportunity. The Avengers made the opening to secure the first big-hit, but Thor failed. The Avengers endureance was to be admired in the early stages and the Robots took a while to break them down. The result felt a little inevitable since the Thor miss, but it is fair to say that the Robots were not as a clinical as they maybe could have been. This could have been an even bigger trouncing.
Scarlet Witch fails to have much impact with probability and the only Avenger who deserves a mention is Captain America and his bold efforts to have a late impact on the match.
The Avengers were out-gunned and out-classed.
The Robots of Doom are indeed a force to be reckoned with, but they will have to face stiffer challenges such as outwit no doubt.

Well, like we said - only 2 people could hurt our invulnerable foes. Their high defense & attack values helped too. Let's face it - when you only need a 3 or 4 to hit your opponents Probability Control isn't going to help much ;)

Blastaar is a solid leader and all round performer, comfortable at range or up close. In addition to being a great all rounder and flyer, he has a slugger and a ranged expert with Mr Fixit for close work and Klaw for ranged work. The three figures really complement each other. One criminal gives them mobile cover, and they have the added bonus of Scarlet Witch and her probability influencing skills. Not a bad team, but they have a big job to do...
The blobby Mojo has a whole host of abilities to his name, with mind control, perplex, poison, flight, leadership... The list goes on. He is joined by the excellent charging close combat expert - Hawkman and the stealthy ever-resourceful short ranged expert - Elektra. Both teams have a leader, and Mojo has himself and the White Queen with her mind control and super-senses. Mojo's all-star team looks pretty solid.
Oh, did I mention he has a Sentinel robot too?
Match 26 takes place on the map with 5 large roof-top buildings. Both teams start in a street between two buildings.

Mr. Fixit into the Sentinal's grasp, but Klaw can free them with amazing range... Blastaar has a totally useless piece in the Criminal, but Mojo has a useless RCE range of 2 Elektra. Blastaar has probability control...

Well, the Black Spidey team was getting roughed up by the Skrulls. Things looked pretty bleak as the Skrulls at one point had a 7 to 2 fig advantage....and then U Wolverine and Black Cat single handedly killed them all in the biggest turnaround of the tournament. :rolleyes: That's why you'll see people saying U Wolverine should be MVP of the tourny.
Mojo...I cannot vote against two mind controlers if played right there will put the fear of god into Blastar.

I'm gonna have to vote for the flying-blob-platform and the hot chick. Two mind controllers are evil, especially when taxied around by the vet hawkman. I expect blastaar to be captured and then klaw gets incapacitated or controlled to run like mad. Should be fun.

Whoa! I'm in 4th place! One spot out of the medals! And what happened to the "Big 4", er I mean "Big 3"... well, I guess it's it's a "Big 2" now. Whatever happened to Capt. Carl? Well this is a tough match to pick. Though what everyone else is saying, I think this match comes down to two figures; Blastaar and the Sentinel. If Fixit can be captured, and line of sight from the Witch is blocked (could Elektra actually be useful?), The Rising could take it... I'll take it! Mojo Rising to win!

Actually, the other team has only Fix-it and Blastaar as decent hitters, and if the Sentinal can capture one or both, then SW and Klaw don't really have big enough attack values to free them, especially since Mojo and WQ will be MCing them away!
