Another Firelord fiasco tournament

Just finished a tournament in which all top finishers had a Firelord on their teams. If this isn't a good indication of an out of balance fiqure, I don't know what is. He is too bloody cheap! Now I gotta get into F-lord cheese to have any chance of placing in the next tournamament. Makes me wanna puke.

hmmmm yea i know how many peole use him
but hes not impossible to beat
try using a stesalth based team
like try this
e anhilius
e klaw
e robin
e vulture
r doombot
e aim medic
r intergang medic
300 pts right on

has 4 charecters with stealth and the potential for 3 outwits using the superman enemy ability shared with the dooom troops

people at our torunys rarely use firelord so thats k9nda nice, but i really think he can be beaten if you play him right

I use MoD Ultron & Puppet Master (with a Sinister Syndicate member) to MC Firelord. Let his own figure take out his own team. This is what I did that inspired the comment in my signature.

Another good tactic is Quicksilver and/or Thugs with Taxis. Put someone BtB against Firelord. That way, FL can't make a ranged attack. He's forced to deal with the figure up close, while you can make your ranged attacks against him.

Actually, hovering figs can make ranged attacks even if they are BTB. This is part of why FL is said to be broken and Bullseye isn't.

RCE is much weaker on grounded figs- a revision to the RCE power might help the situation a bit.

we always play house rules where b2b character (ranged or not)can not use RCE... makes the game so much more challanging, and people actually don't go with Firelord because of this.

Only against the figure they are BtB with. Which is the specific reason you base someone cheap against FL. He has to waste energy to deal with him while you are free to shoot him from range.

What I should have said was, FL cannot make a ranged attack outside of the BtB figure.
