View Full Version : Custom Objects for all!
Hello everyone! I just wanted to inform you all of some objects I've been making in the past week or so, these objects of course are not intended to infringe on any copyright and are for FREE BONUS play:

The first image you'll see is an extra page for cutouts (so that you don't have to damage the actual cards).
I'd love to hear all feedback on or about these objects, and if you have any requests please also be sure to post them here!
I'm still working out the point values of these as they clearly need to be play-tested, but these are preliminary values with hopefully no foreseeable issues.
Captain America's Shield: Avengers only? I seem to recall a certain Kryptonian using it once...
Ultimate Nullifier: Remove a character from the game? It was never actually established that it did only that. In the comic, it apparently threatened to remove the user too. Galactus was terrified of it. Marvel Adventures comics actually had a story where it was used. Spidey figured it out. It actually just levelled the playing field. They ended up challenging Galactus to a baseball game.

This was done a long time ago.

Rep to you. You did it better.

Not only Supes, but I know Red Skull has picked it up and used it, as has Major Victory from GotG (The real GotG, not this weird new modern stuff you crazy kids have nowadays) ;)
Personally, I would like to see a trait on Captain America that say you put a token in the square he's knocked out in and if you're on the square, you can pick it up and get the +2.

In What if Korvac had Capt. America use it and it removed Cap AND Galactus.

Wow! Thats really lame....
mattsolo > I realize it's a very old idea, but I've yet to see any new templates based on NECA's cards (as you already know they are slightly different from the old object style and print wise). But thank you for thugit's thread I think it'll be very useful for some ideas.
BigSoph > You're right, it happened during the Amalgamation and Cable's even mentioned having it to rally the troops if I recall correctly; but I figured there needs to be some 'strict' limitations, or else ANYONE could have the +2 and leadership, and then we'd get another Thunderbolts fiasco... either that or the cost would render it unplayable...
And you are correct again on the use of the Nullifier, I guess it's not clearly labelled in my naming of the "Nullify" ability. My intention is not necessarily to show the usage, just the threat of using it (so maybe it should be called "Threaten". If it were to remove both characters, I figured it would be too powerful if just any character could use it (hence the restriction only to "Scientist" characters, despite the fact that T'chala has used it as well).
Puuka > Well that would require making a custom Cap right? And.... isn't the new Cap broken enough for you?! hehehe

Blue Kryptonite? Isn't that the kind that works on Bizarros? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptonite#Variations)

I'm not sure rolling a 6 is appropriate on all of them. Some (The Shield, for example) could be 5-6. It IS a power action, and these are significantly less powerful than Mjolnir in most cases.
Props for the Matrix of Leadership. Yes, it's a 6 roll. Yes it's awesome.

old man logan used the shield too...
Thanks for the comments everyone, perhaps I'll make some tweaks to the point values. My main goal here though was to just provide new and fun custom objects that aren't necessarily game breaking but provide some cool and fun alternatives.
Darknesspwns > The shield is really just restricted because of balancing purposes. I really don't want these customs abusable, but perhaps you are all right in terms of power compared to Mjolnir.
I'll definitely take those into account and re-post any changes made!
flatmatt > I just checked my information online, and it seems you're right for the Pre-crisis Bizarro. My inspiration for that blue kryptonite was the show Smallville, but I suppose I could make a Pre-crisis accurate version as well. Thanks!!
The shield does not have a magic enchantment saying you cannot wield this unless you are worthy
And Marvel Adventures is awesome. I like it much better than any mainstream stuff - it is light hearted, well written and drawn. There is a lot less angst and whininess
I found the story where Spidey, Hulk and Iron Man had to sit Hercules' dogs (Cerebrus was one). Maybe you enjoy comics that are unending crapsack worlds with engines of suck drawing off any joy (I imagine you enjoyed Rogue's whoopy with Sentry story)
BigSoph > I realize it doesn't have such an enchantment. That enchantment isn't represented in the Mjolnir object either if I'm not mistaken.
**EDIT**
I see what you mean in that there's a d6 roll for Mjolnir which arguably represents this, though my intentions were just for game balancing. Either way, it will be tweaked tonight~
**end EDIT*
I'm not sure what you are implying with your comment on my taste in comic books as it sounded a bit personal, but thank you for your comments either way.
I'll be making tweaks to the objects and reposting them ASAP.

It just seems like it would make more comic book sense if it were simply Green Kryptonite.
