Well, oddly enough our venue has decided on the outdated Floor format for a tournament this week and I would like some input on a few teams I'm considering. Keep in mind it's also restricted in the sense that it will be Avengers up, but feat cards and BFCs will be allowed.

Batman & Green Arrow 204
Kid Zoom 87
Captain America 72
+ Alias 3
Gotham City Detective 27
Gotham City Detective 27
Nightwing/???? 79
Lian Harper 1

I really don't like Kid Zoom, but it's a concession to all the Hypersonic Speed that people in my venue like to pack. Paying 87 points for 5 clicks that you'll want to keep out of harm's(outwit) way anyway is not really my thing, but severely crippling figures like Skrull Ms. Marvel, Shazam/Black Adam, Martian Manhunter, Zoom, and other lesser HSS pieces that would tear this team apart seems not all that bad.

The Nightwing is a piece that I've been toying around with. He provides some cute tricks with Outsiders, such as hitting BM/GA when they don't have any GCD around so that he can use unmodified duo attacks, but I don't really know if he does enough. I've experimented with Impossible Man, Human Elektra(Does not work very well without Lunge, lemme tell ya), Gamora, Classics Nick Fury, and all sorts of other sub 80 point dynamos but I don't really think I've found something I'm entirely happy with yet. I wish I had an Edward Nigma, but alas. Any suggestions? I've had wacky ideas about Cave Carson place some cover for BM/GA, but that's just too silly even for me.

The whole concept comes from an interesting team posted by Morand about a 500 Point Detective Squad packing BM/GA. I've recently grown enamored by the pair, and they can almost function in a poor-man's Dr. Strange like function with seeing through characters and stealth to be a nice little turret.

Shazam/Black Adam 280
+Book of Destiny 4
Robin 66
+ Flash Bang 3
Chief 63
+ Contingency Plan 12
The Question 37
Scarlet Witch 35

A bit tent-poley, but S/BA is quite a tent pole. With all the Perplex, Contingency Plan Tokens, and Re-roll, this team has crushed a lot of other teams in practice. Scarlet Witch even makes a serviceable taxi when she's been Outsiders-ed by Chief. This team lives and dies on the barrier, but I don't really know if I should sacrifice some part of it to emphasize it.

Martian Manhunter 202
+Camouflage 8
Inertia 66
Dr. Strange 150
Batman 75

Frankly, this team came about because I just wanted Martian Manhunter and Inertia to be on the same team. It's quite funny slowing down all the pieces that try and come to base the Manhunter. I've managed to live the dream and get the 1 movement charges. It's still pretty bad, but I don't really know which way I should take it. Any suggestions? I think I should probably dump Dr. Strange, but where should I go from there?

Well, thank you for your suggestions in advance!

how can you not like Gamora with her Charge/BCF/EW combo? Not only that... she gets to go again next turn cuz she has Willpower.

you can't charge/bcf/ew in one turn, you can charge and bcf, charge and ew, or bcf and ew... not all 3 at once.

I have no comment on your teams, but 500 point BatB Floor isn't IMO all that bad a format considering the BatB set contents. (Restricted to Avengers and up is a different story)

Players that want to try out the big point pieces can do so, and anybody tempted to try some of the BatB swarmy themes can still use 250 points worth of older figures to boost them.

Incorrect. Charge grants you a Close Combat Action, EW *is* a CCA, and BCF goes off when you use a CCA.

Nasty little combo.

I like Flash and GL in a format this big, as they can TK two people right off the bat for only one action.

I've had....bad luck with the most dangerous woman in the universe before. It's definitely a silly superstition, but perhaps it has more to do with my opponents always selling out to kill her. The 81 Points she represents with her obligatory protected always seem to fall into the losses category some way or another. In retrospect, I think I would have liked the potential she represented in beating up Big Stupid Impervious characters. Nightwing was pretty subpar against all the big guns he had to face in the format.

Oh, I agree entirely. I don't think it's bad either, it's just that I haven't played in anything floor since I came back at the tail end of HOT. It's outdated in the sense that the venues I play at have discarded it for a strict Modern/Golden Age Paradigm. Only recently have they sort of slid back into using older terminology.

I felt that the format was quite nice as it allows for some very interesting combinations and tactics. One player at the venue even managed to get Alter-Ego to actually be a difference maker. Without the 50% restriction, I doubt the AE figures would even have been thought of.
