Dear Wizkids: Please complete the teams you started!

One of the most disappointing things for me about BatB was the absense of any legion members or the Negative Man figure we've been waiting for to complete the core of the Doom Patrol.

I'd like to see Wizkids remember that we theme players would like to be able to run a complete and accurate representation of these teams. I'm a little tired of substituting Negative Woman for Negative Man. I you want me to keep running her, then give me Tempest and Celsius for that version of the Doom Patrol.

Here's some teams that need fleshing out for me:

The Champions - What we really need here is Darkstar, a new playable Black Widow and a pink skinned Angel, a new Ghost Rider wouldn't hurt.

The Defenders - We need a really good powerhouse Hulk, Devil Slayer, perhaps a new Beast and a slew of their best villains, (Xemnu the Titan, Yandroth, Nebulon, Vera Gemini, The Headmen especially Ruby Thursday)

XStatic - Seriously, Orphan and that's it? After all this time?

Masters Of Evil - I want all the missing original characters and maybe a newer better Executioner. Later incarnations would be nice too.

Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - Toad and the Blob are a joke as is and we need a classic costume Magneto that makes you tremble.

Classic X-Men - Once again, we need a Pink skinned Angel, maybe a new Cyclops and I'd like A Mimic like the one that battled the Super Adaptoid back in the day.

Teen Titans - When do we get good versions of Beast Boy and Cyborg? Beast Boy will need the Doom Patrol keyword also.

Infinity Inc - Northwind, Fury, Silver Scarab, Nuklon, Star Spangled Kid, Brainwave Jr. and a precrisis Huntress would be nice.

Freedom Fighters - I want the team from the Seventies series. Original versions of Black Condor, The Ray and Human Bomb as well as Doll Man.
Then you can concentrate on later versions.

All Star Squadron - Johnny Quick, Liberty Belle, Robotman, Tarantula at least, Neptune Perkins, Iron Munro and the elder Fury would be cool too.

Give me the rest of the Blackhawks as well.

For that matter I'd like an Aquaman sans starfish, hook, sword or water hand for a classic Justice League Team. To that end we need Barry, but Wally can fill in fine.

I'm not picky, but I want an updated Weather Wizard! His abillities don't match his powers well. I like playing the Flash Rogues, but it drives me nuts that WW is so useless... Also, give them their own damn team abillity. Like +2 damage to people using hypersonic so long as characters are adjacent and both have it.

Not as big a deal, but I would like non-pog versions of Colleen Wing and Misty Knight for Heroes for Hire. With the recent remakes of Luke Cage and Iron Fist (and their duo) and the predicted Black Cat remake for WoS, I would hope that these two would make it to clix (as proper figures) soon.

Yeah I'm still surprised that we don't have Ragdoll to finish at least the original Secret Six. i was thrilled to see The Parademon show up. Plus with BatB, we did finally get Gizmo for the fatal five (which started with Jinx in Legacy. Good grief, look how many years it took to finish out that team!).

I think in the 75th set we'll likely see Negative Man. Negative Woman is an okay sub for him, but it's just not the same. And I'd really like to see Black Condor for the Freedom Fighters.

Agreed. I was so excited when they gave us a couple of the members of one of my favorite childhood super teams in Supernova. Then they FINALLY gave us a 3rd member in Avengers, and then...nothing to complete the team. Instead they give us the NEW team. The new GotG are nice to have, but man, give us the originals already! I'd even accept no Nikki, but no Martinex or Charlie? What the hell are we supposed to do with just Starhawk, Vance, and Yondu???

I also want the rest of the original Freedom Fighters (giving us Human Bomb was cool...giving us the newer costume for him - not so cool), MOE (where's my Melter? Seriously...), Serpent Society, JSA (Golden Age team preferably), Invaders (no Whizzer after all this time), and SSOSV (Still no James Jesse Trickster by himself, no proper Star Sapphire, no Captain Comet...). And where is Ragdoll? More Injustice Society would be really welcome. Negative Man and Daimon Hellstrom would be awesome finishing touches for the Doom Patrol and classic Defenders, respectively.

There are a bunch of remakes that need making as well (Yes, Toad, Blob, Changeling and Cyborg are high on my list as well), but let's see some of these teams completed so we can actually run them already!

BatB was a MAJOR letdown in this department. Too few holes filled, some holes weren't filled well (Gizmo without the costume that fits the other members we already have? WOW that is bad.). The smaller set size and the emphasis on gimmicky mechanics really hurt the ability to give us enough new characters. Very limited keyword selection also hurts the ability to properly tie together theme teams, particularly for players who aren't as familiar with the comics. We STILL don't have a decent version of Poison Ivy that's not toting a gigantic Harley martini. Ugh. And don't get me started on Catwoman.

I've got high hopes that the BatB set was an aberration, caused by the last influence of the old WK. IMO, everything else NECAWK has done since starting up has been A-OK! So I'm looking forward to a great WOS set, and an even better DC 75th Anniversary set! That latter theme seems to have a LOT of potential for filling some of the holes in DC clix!

Two of each would be 36 slots in DC, 32 in Marvel (36 if you want Morlocks and Serpent Society back). I wouldn't mind seeing this done... once. ;) The TAs don't match the evolving "want" list, so trying to hit every TA in each expansion isn't sustainable.

I agree with this 100%. There are a lot of teams out there that sort of got left hanging.

I really don't understand why they made Negative Woman before Negative Man. I consider myself a pretty big Doom Patrol fan, but to be honest I own exactly one comic with her in it, and that's because of Ambush Bug.

X-Force/X-Statix was an awesome comic, and I really wish they had made more than just Mr. Sensitive/Orphan... but the comic is likely past its merchandising prime at this point. However, X-Factor still really needs rounding out. And on the X-Topic; it was thoroughly baffling when they made 4 of the 5 classic "First Class" X-Men and then never finished it.

Regarding the Secret Six: They even gave Parademon powers that make direct references to Ragdoll, and we still don't have him... or his father, a classic Golden Age villain! I'd love to see both get made, but at LEAST give us the one that's in one of DC's best and most popular current comics!

And I know they're slightly more obscure/old, but the Freedom Fighters and All-Winners Squad are still lacking, too. I'm glad I'm not the first person in the thread to say this, but: I want a Whizzer!

That all being said, I think that Hammer of Thor did a fantastic job of delivering new characters and teams in a way that wasn't obnoxious. They didn't give us a Groot (yet!) but they gave us enough of the new Guardians of the Galaxy to make a solid team with. They made all of the Agents of ATLAS that existed at the time, all in one set, which was great. They gave us the core members of the Runaways. They made all three of the Warriors Three (I wish Volstagg wasn't so hard to come by, but at least they made him!). They rounded out most of the new (at the time) Thunderbolts. They gave us a ton of other Thor supporting characters. AND - after all that - they still managed to work in Cap, Spidey and Daredevil to keep from alienating new players too badly.

Conversely, Brave and the Bold really felt like WK was trying to cram in too many gimmicks, and the character selection suffered for it. I mean, we got Gizmo which is nice, since it's awkward to field the Fearsome FIVE with four characters. And say what you want about Cave Carson but at least he wasn't a remake! But... did we really need two Talia figures in one set? Two Hal Jordans? Three Flashes? Two Billy Batsons? A new Black Adam (because, what, the one from Crisis wasn't good enough?)? And as much as I love generic troop-builder figures (I'm not being sarcastic, I really do), taking up six character-slots for Checkmate henchmen when there are so many characters people are waiting to see released or remade is just frustrating. I mean, I can understand having Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. There's no reason not to have them in every set. Go for it, I'll understand, I promise. But there's no excuse for having two Talias (in addition to the REV from Legacy, AND the one from Batman: Alpha) when the character has never even really had any sort of drastic change in her entire history.

My turn to be picky. Lady Mastermind betryaed the X-Men and joined the Marauders in X-Men Vol.2 isuue 200. When she worked with the team in Messiah Complex she was a full-fledged member already. :)
