I have an upcoming 200 point dc tournament. I need a little insight from you all. I'm thinking about using my Darkseid piece, because I've found he is pretty effective in shutting down a lot of teams. I am wondering what i should add to the team. I am thinking about Desaad (who would also give me the gratification of using a team that would occur), and i am also thinking about a veteran Hawkman. Desaad has explosion, support, and an extra outwit. With two outwits im thinking that I could shut down a lot of the other person's key abilities. Support could be good in a pinch where I might need to heal Darkseid. I am thinking Darkseid would take on the bigger enemies that could do damage to him with his impervious, while Desaad could take the weaker or supporting figures. With Darkseid's psycic blast I could use two outwits to take away offensive abilities, and mind control is always a good option to have. The problem I think I might have is mobility. There seems to be a lot of taxiing happening in tournaments. That would be where Hawkman would come in. His charge and close combat expert would make him perfect for taxiing Darkseid in and could hold his own for a few clicks. Please give me your advice.

-Other possibilities for fillers would be an experienced Harley Quinn (for perplex), an experienced Plastic Man, (to tie up figures use perplex, and incapacitate) or rookie Solomon Grundy (to rush in and do damage). Or different taxis I could use are rookie Weather Wizard (for force blast if darkseid gets to his rce and gets in a base to base situation with another figure), experienced Man-Bat, or rookie Booster Gold (cheap taxis)

Feel free to pick apart my entire team or suggest what you would do to tweak it. Thnx

Darksied might be a bit expencive for a 200 point team, though he is probably the most balanced of the super heavies.

Desaad is a great choice, hes got a good deal of clicks (7) and a good range of powers.

And you should have enough points left over for a medic, unless my math ic completely off....

Like I said, I think Darksied might be a bit too expencive for a 200 point team, but depending on your skill level, you could pull it off.

Darkseid - 151pts
Desaad - 47 pts

Welcome to your whole team...

To play a figure like Darkseid in a 200pt game takes balls the size of grapefruits and a highly cunning mind (and maybe a bit of luck). There would be a whole lot for Darkseid to deal with, and he wouldn't have too many options.

Consider a simple Batman/JLA theme team...

R Batman
V Hawkman
V Huntress
Assorted medics ect...

Batman could go into Stealth and outwit Outwit/Mind Control. Your turn is spent moving up towards Bats to base him or moving towards other people, or waiting. Then Batman outwits impervious, and Hawkman moves Huntress into position. She makes a reasonably easy shot against 16 defense with her 9 attack Darksied is now down to 14 def + toughness and is in a world of hurt. You could outwit Huntress' RCE and push to attack Bat, which would drop him on CCE and leave a messy Darkseid shaped stain on the next turn. Or Desaad could rush in and add his mighty might to the battle! (Not a brilliant addition).

Thus; if you're going to go with this type of team you should consider getting;

a) A flyer (someone like E Booster or R Hawkman wo can move for free might not be a bad idea either, but isn't needed when you'll have so few pieces anyways) Use them to move Darkseid where he can do the most damage. Deal with Outwits first, big damage second. Use Mind Control as a primary attack emthod so you're eating up you opponents push free actions.

b) A medic. Darkseid's defense plummets fast, so get someone in there to patch him up and keep him in the fight. Since You'll probably end up pushing Darkseid too this figure will become invaluable.

So, good luck on the team. I've actually seen a guy play a DC/Marvel mix with this idea. I could see some mistakes he was making but the idea of a good team was possible.

Thor.
