Yeah, I noticed.... not too happy about it though...

I dunno, I like to be surprised by an expansion. I've avoided the pineapple. I like the sneak peeks, and finding out little snippets, but I remember when y'all did this with HyperTime. It's frustrating hearing about all the cool new models that I don't get to touch for another month. Not to mention I'm gonna have to tread carefully in the threads I read so that I can be surprised when I crack open my case and pull out my poster (after digging down 2 levels :) ).

Also, I hope you limit how much people can buy... I'd really rather not see full sets of XP on eBay next week. Not just because I'm jealous, but because I'm sick of seeing these LEs on eBay threads, and I don't want more fuel for the fire... :)

Then again, I'm realizing I'm just a bitter whiner, so take everything I say with a saltshaker full o' salt.

I posted about this a couple days ago, Wizkids is limiting it to only 3 boosters per person. I'm going to be posting stats and pics after next weekend of what we get.

Basicaly, why not actualy release the expansion in early March, if it's ready to role ?

I can't afford the airfair to the States, lots of guys live in the wrong part of the states to get to this particular venue, and it means that the release becomes undervalued for all the reasons posted above.

By all means have a WORLDWIDE series of marquee tournaments to launch the set, but don't drip feed it.

I would have thought the lesson would have been learnt from the last release...

It's probably not entirely produced yet. I know they do the same thing with card games. Sometimes they have prerelease events a month ahead, but the regular products aren't finished. They just whip up a special limited number just for the prerelease.

Not that I'm saying I agree with these sort of things, I just wanted to state that this is how things are done.

No, I wouldn't ACTUALY fly over just for 12 figs - my point was that that is what I would have to do if I wanted those figs at the same time as those of you who are lucky enough to be able to go to the convention.

I think it's rather "shabby" (sorry, guys, but there it is) of them to do this again - it should be at numerous different venues, and in various countries, if they are going to do this at all IMHO...

Just watch as ebay goes balistic (again).

I sincerely hope they will accept that "the listed pineapple" becomes game-true from the Megacon date - at least the amount of figures bought will guarentee we complete the confirmed list.

Well Norman, the fact that the USA is a VERY large country doesn't help anyone... I'm in the same situation as you are and I life in the country. There's no way in the blue blazes I can get to where they're having this Con. I, however, am looking forward to seeing pictures of those figures that the lucky few will get (and from what I've read it looks like very few people will be going from this site).

As it stands there are NEVER cons that come to the NH area so I will never get any of the crazy promos or get to play for those nice LE5s other than the Marquee tournaments.

So, in closing, I'd like to say that your ideas about equal distrobution are great but will never work since even if they get them to your area, and to the major cities in the US there will still be many people like me who will never get any of them. Take those Judge Dredd's for example. I'll never get one of those Promos. So I'll just be content getting screwed just because I don't live in the Convention circut

LE's - I have the Eddie Nashton LE (won it) and the Nenora LE (traded for it). One of our HC group has the ManBat and Booster Gold LE's.(Won Them)

I have seen a Knuckles LE.

I have Superman LE and Wolverine LE (bought).

I also have the Johnny Alpha Promo - but then I'm in the UK...

As far as I know, hardly any of the others are in the country.

Well you're missing my point that, although my country may have convnetions, my country is also bigger than most of Europe. So people like me getting a chance at LEs is just about as bad, if not worse, than yours in England. That was my point. It's even more fustrating when you live in the country and can't get any LEs or Promos you want.

Our chance at getting CONVENTION LEs is about as bad as theirs, however, our chance at getting regular prize support LEs is much, much better. Overseas doesn't get anywhere near as good prize support as we do, due to a variety of reasons.

It stinks for all of us who can't get there, let's not turn this into a who has it worst-fest :)

I hope to get to Origins this year, but I'll ony be able to afford to go if WK does their usual "sell your soul to us to run events and we pay your way in" dealie. I know, I know, at least I have that option... :)

It's OK WarHulk, I do understand that you guys are frustrated too.

Fact is, anyone who lives more than 100 miles from Megacon is being "acted against in a manner likely to result in them being unable to acquire the product as rapidly as those lucky enough to live within travelling distance of MegaCon" against - and you have to ask yourseves "why ?"

Being one of the lucky few that live near Orlando, I'm kind of excited that I'll get some boosters early. I remember how it felt last year when Hypertime was sold at Comicon in San Diego. I was disappointed that I couldn't buy any but I didn't have a problem with Wizkid's releasing a small amount a few weeks ahead. I can't say that I'm disappointed about it this year though.

I live in Pensacola, Florida so I am going to take a road trip (7 hours by car) to Orlando with some buddies to MegaCon. It will be sweet to have the Xplosion figures early, but Heroclix is only part of the reason we're going.

My wife made me promise I would bring back Micheal Rosenbloom's (Lex Luthor from Smallville) autograph. I am also excited that I will get to meet Dina Meyer (Oracle from Birds of Prey). I thought she was uber hot in Johnny Neumonic (yes, I misspelled that I'm sure) and Starship Troopers.

What I think is fascinating is that Wizkids is going to start ranking Heroclix players like they do Mageknight. According to my local judges, Megacon will begin the rankings and Wizardcon will determine the world champion.

I've won a lot of tournaments locally, it will be neat to see fresh faces and new strategies down there.

you might have to make a choice on that. Way i understand it, they will be there only Friday and Saturday, youll have to wait in a line just to get a ticket to get the autograph, and THEN wait in line to get the actual auto graph. Hero clix of Dina meyer....man thats a tough one:p

another + you got there in America is that you can buy sets the longest time (It's been a while since we could order CT !).
because if sets sell well, they will sell them first to you all instead of sending the second and third ones overseas.

good luck to all of you lucky enough to get to Megacon. Here's a 'trick' ? I did to pick up some extra Hypertime boosters at DragonCon when they were doing the same thing -- allowing attendees to buy three packs. I asked other convention goers in the dealers room if they collected the game. Surprisingly, some wierdos had no idea about the game and weren't interested in it. can you imagine? :p jk, of course. I was able to convince two other folks to allow me to buy more boosters off of their badges. :D I only did it to buy two more sets of three, cause I was expecting a case a few weeks later. I bought a total of 9 boosters. But you could ask others to let you buy extra boosters off of their badge. Cool idea? No. But don't everyone try it at once, they'll make us stop. :eek:

If the are going to do this then why cant they be smart enough to do some pre release tournaments. I've gone to one or 2 for MTG and many people just come the the goods and run. It would be great publicity if they did this. Heck I'd travel 2 hours out of my way to go play in a pre release tourney as I'm sure many of you guys would. Anywho I may con my friends sister who lives in Fla to go and get some for me with her hubby hehe. Yeah I'm addicted but what can I say. I'm sure ebay will have plenty for sale come Sun and Mon. Personally, I'm looking forward to not going to Megacon for a couple reasons. 1.) I have self control. 2.) I love to see the new figs out. 3.) I absolutely love to watch people bid over $20.00 US for pieces like V Robin before the set comes out. It's just so morbid and twisted. I think it's great. I'll be getting mine when it comes out, whenever that may be.

Of course I'm all about smoke and mirrors!

agreed...kinda stinks that they do the pre-release thingy but in the end I know they are coming and I can wait.

one thing I am NOT a fan of is the plans for ranking heroclix. it was supposed to be for fun as originally intended. now we will see much more cut-throat playing styles in my shop as people will be so worried about their precious rankings. I also not a fan of having a world champ right off the bat...much less having a world ranking system and a World Championship when many of the top ranked people will never be able to attend a world championship UNLESS they live near where the championship is being held....
