What is The Golden Age?

Is the Golden Age synonymous with Tournament Legal? Or are they antonyms? how will we know when a figure is removed from being tournament legal? Are feats and BFCs allowed still? whats the ruling with ATA's? I heard that they may ban feats, and that ATA's will be considered something else. Can you guys help me out? I haven't been to a tournament since before HoT was released, so I'm tryin to find out all this stuff for my glorious return to getting my butt kicked. :p Thanks guys!
