Ok, i just got out of my 3rd Marvel tourney that i just took first place in for the first time. It was pretty intense. 300pts. 10 rounds etc.etc. I'm now the proud owner of a Wilson Fisk LE. My first Marvel LE.

Well first match was a against a first timer, he came at me with

Juggernaut E 125
Wolverine E 61
Thing E 110

It went 5 rounds. Enough said. Although it went without saying I did try and give the guy a few strategies to come with in the future like what was taught to me by not concetrating too many points on few figures.

Then i played 2nd round against Ontapmedia. I was pretty nervous but i ended up prevailling in the end after a tough match.

3rd i was matched against the store employee who decide to particpate at the end of his shift. He had a pretty intimedating team.

NightCrawler U 83
Wolverine LE 70
Shehulk R 59
Scarlet Witch R 29
Vulture R 15
Hydra Medic LE (17)
Black Panther R 27

I dropped his whole team without a loss. He was NOT happy.

But that gets to my post, the Judge set the next week game at 300pt. Marvel or a DC team, not mixed though.

So my question is, Who is stronger? DC or Marvel. I'm partial to marvel just because I grew up with them. But i'm not sure which Side To Go With???

Some thoughts i had were.......

Marvel seems to have longer range

DC seems to have better Close Combat figures and Team Abillities.

Which do you find more valuable or usable? Your thoughts on what you might go with?

it basically goes like this - in General Marvels attack and defense values are higher (there are lots of Marvel figures with an 18 def, but no one in dc has an 18 def. for example). Also marvels close combat guys (those with B/C/F) can do more damage (up to 6). DC's characters generaly have more powers and some of those are stronger then the marvel powers (like Imperv. over Inv.). Also, CCE can't do a max damage as high B/C/F, but with CCE your never going to role a 1. Also there are many more figures in DC with outwit (something I feel ruins the game, but thats me).

So it depends on what you want - marvel characters with higher attack and defense values or DC characters with more powers and outwit.

Do you like to brawl or finesse? Personally, I like DC because of the broader range of powers (like sluggo points out).

If you go DC think about this combo.... E or V Clayface with E or V Bane. Clayface ties 'em down while Bane pummels 'em with CCE. Brutal. Personally, I like V Clayface (extra click of plas, poison, and 1 higher def) and V Bane (deep dial and 5 damage for the first 3 clicks... ouch!). All for only 135 points. Not too shabby.

DC ALL THE WAY. I mean dont get me wrong Marvel can fill in the holes in a team but I always build a team around outwit and Batman ppl. I mean DC is just the best ever. I will have a battle once i get a few more Marvel figs and have it be 600pts. DC vs Marvel. Mind you Marvel has soon to to be 2 extra expansions out too.

I've seldom heard Machine make such a ridiculous statement. He usually thinks things through before he answers! :D It all depends on who your playing and how well they know and handle their figs.

Play the figs you know and are comfortable with in tourneys. Play friendly games to get comfortable with figs.

Bah! Marvel has no more finesse than DC. It's all in who you play with and how. You can't tell me that Marvel guys with numbers like Ultron are "finesse" players. Batman is finesse. I've been called a leap/climbing-stealthing-outwiting-willpowered bastard on more than one occasion.

But I'll agree that a Clayface/Bane Combo is wicked. Clayface III is pretty good, and Bane is a beast. Like Eminem, he doesn't wrestle, he'll knock you the #### out. All the Batman Enemies are pretty decent (scoots the R Man-Bat out of site). The biggest problem is they only have one flyer (V Man-Bat) for an all-BE team.

Honestly, which team have you had more success with? I find myself having more success with DC only because many are experienced with the DC strats and Marvel overall does seem stronger!!!! Am I right in these assumptions?
