HELP! as I was playing with a friend of mine and I would like to show the digram that happened between two figures and led into a dilemma:
xxxxx
xxxxx
xSRxx
xSSSx
xxNxx
S represents Smoke Cloud - R represents Robin - N represents Nightwing
I took an action of having Robin use Smoke Cloud to try to get away from Nightwing's RCA and having a clear LOF. Also Robin still have L/C. The dilemma is - can Nightwing still attack Robin using RCA with +1 added to it since Smoke Cloud is a hindering block while Robin have the ability to get out of Smoke Cloud or "disappear"? Is there a way that Robin cannot be shot at all?
Any helpful information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Robin has the Batman Ally team ability.
So if he's behind a Smoke Cloud as in the diagram you posted, Nightwing cannot shoot him, because the Batman team ability turns that Hindering terrain into Blocking terrain for the purposes of determining line of sight.

Robin is a member of the Batman Team, so he has the their team ability - Stealth.
Smoke Cloud is hindering terrain, Stealth treats hindering terrain as blocking terrain, and you can't draw LoF through blocking terrain.
Nightwing would not even be able to shoot Robin.

If you drop the smoke cloud ON robin instead of in front of him, he will be in stealth to all but superman allies.

You can't drop a Smoke Cloud on top of a character.
Robin could, however, drop a Smoke Cloud in a diamond formation around him, like this:
XSX
SRS
XSX
S=Smoke Cloud
R=Robin
Robin is thus Stealthed, as any line of sight crosses the smoke cloud (including diagonal lines of sight, since the diagonal border between two smoke clouds is also considered hindering terrain).

Yes, that's legal.

For Smoke Cloud (and Barrier) does the fig need line-of-sight to where they're erecting the smoke? It doesn't specify in the PAC. One place where I play says yes, the other place I play says no.

i would think line of sight still applies, i m sure it applies to ANYTHING you want done at a distance (of course with exception of charge/running shot)

A clear line of fire is not required to use this ability. At least one Barrier marker placed must be within this character’s range. From the FAQ.

Thanks, that makes Barrier and Smoke Cloud that much more powerful!
