get rid of the DC char DC marvel mix screws up the game
how is that? it makes the game cooler, besides they were made to be played at the same time.
being a true marvel person,i dont know anything bout dc.
so i think marvel and dc should be seperate.
It would be different if i knew about both.

They were made using the same core rule system. Not necessarily to be played together. Compatibility and intent that they should be played together are different things.
That said: I like marvel comics better, but DC heroclix more.

If you don't like the result of mixed Marvel and DC games, here's a little suggestion. DON'T MIX MARVEL AND DC TOGETHER!

These games are compatible, but I honestly think they get thrown out of whack when mixing. You can play a marvel vs. DC game and it will be pretty fair (not to mention that it is often very fun). But as soon as you start putting Marvel wildcards on DC teams and have Dr.Doom running around with Stealth (via Batman), things go bad. What's going to happen when Dr. Doom can move 8 people with him via the Green Lantern power (Or when your cheap little Doombot can do this)? Or when you take the Cheap perplexers from DC and Boost the HULK's damage to 10?
If your having fun doing these things, that's cool, but realise that you can do some exceptionally nasty things by mixing, and that tourny play is DC or Marvel, not both, in most cases. I think mixing should be agreed upon by everone before you start doing it, if someone doesn't agree to it then I think there should be an obligation to play a straight Marvel or DC team.

I think it is definitly cool to mix the marvel and dc sets. I just finished a game where I played with a dream team of the Flash and Firelord. I still lost but it was fun none-the-less.
I just wish that there was more equal treatment of the too. I had to suffer through this Cloberrin time set and now we're gonna get a set full of X-men. Wooohooo.
Ready my tag guess which clics I wanna have.
By the way does anyone know when you'll be able to send off for the mail-away Hal Jordan?

I suppose you could mix as long as you dont have wild cards borrowing supes and bats abilities!!

One (and rumored to be more) GL member will be available in a mail-away from Inquest magazine. From the picture in Previews magazine, it looks like Hal Jordan but it has not been confirmed. There is a thread in the Rumors Forum that says there will be multiple GL members available and they will be given out randomly. Either way, this giveaway is similar to the Wolverine and Superman ones from last year.
The Wild Card argument is tired and old. As soon as some Legion figures come out ths point will be moot, and Marvel exclusive players will want the Batman and Superman team ability, or get spanked by Superman/Legion or Batman/Legion combos when they are playing Marvel vs. DC.
I play separate and mixed and I don't see a problem with either because they both use the same rules. However, mixing does disrupt the normal Marvel strategy, forcing Marvel only players to actually prepare new strategies, which is probably the source of the mixing whining. It's easier to complain then to actually think of a way to counter mixed teams
Simple solutuon, if you know you are playing in a mixed game prepare for it, otherwise don't play in a mixed game, or, you can actually play mixed occasionally to sharpen your game.
Also, fans that read Marvel comics exclusively are a very small (yet extremely vocal, they are probably compensating) minority in the comic collecting world. So most collectors that hav gotten into this game will want to mix or play universe vs. universe. It's only natural.
I don't really understand all of this hate about DC, I've always read characters from both universes growing up so I enjoy very much using both sets. And to those who believe that things get out of hand and don't make sense when the two worlds are mixed (the example of team abilities being abused), it's just a game, it's not the real comics. Theoretically, one could have two vet Doc Ocs to perplex up the damage of say, a vet thug or some other weak character that has base 2 damage. Someone else with outwit could get rid of invulnerability on an enemy. Now that thug, with 4 damage could do some damage to, let's say someone like juggernaut or even kill him if he was low enough. This makes absolutely no sense at all in the comic world, but it makes perfect sense in heroclix, even with only playing marvel. So to those who don't read or care about DC, simply don't use the figures as others have mentioned, don't bash them for not making sense. There are plenty of examples of things not making sense in heroclix, but that doesn't make the game any less fun

What I like is although Hero-Clix is not only the best game around but its the best three games around.
Listed in no particular order because they are equal in my eyes.
1st Marvel Hero-Clix
2nd DC Hero-Clix
3rd Mixed Marvel/DC Hero-Clix
To add to that when Indy hits the shelves we get even more different games through the combos and I wouldn't be suprised to see more new abilities as well.
Now for my two cents towards this tired old argumentative about the so called "problems" with mixed games is that:
Mixing doesn't unbalance the game when both players have exactly the same options available, it only becomes a "problem" when one player doesn't have or decides not to use DC characters "usually through their own silly anti-DC predjudice".

Like I said, if everyone is in agreement sure mixing can be fun. But if some players are only capable of fielding one or the other (not both), mixing can be fairly nasty, and not all that fair.
If my opponent wants to field a mixed team I may just do that too. But I don't think that just because I dislike the idea of Dr.Doom with stealth and Green Lantern i'm a tactically inept player who is only able to deal with Marvel! I can thump Marvel with DC just as easily in straight battles (and I in turn can be beat by either). Min/Maxing is one of my pet peeves, and I usually field theme teams (often being able to beat the other team anyway; but them again min-maxing isn't a big thing in my gaming group). You can get some fun mixing games, but there are those players out there that are power hungry and have fun only by winning, and mixing can cater to that kind of player in my opinion. This game should be about fun, so if mixing encourages cut-throat players I think it should be kept at a minumum. I can deal with it, but I don't I don't find it nearly as fun as a Marvel vs. DC (X-men vs. JLA or whatever), battle.
You can limit this problem by controlling the team build total. If you get into a mixed 600+ game you get what you paid for, at 200-500, I don't see mixing as a problem. Most wilcards are expensive and it's hard to exploit their potential in a lower point game.
And what are you going to do when the Legion comes out? Ban Marvel vs. DC if someone wants to use a legionnaire?
I field themed teams, too, and rarely field villains and heroes on the same team. It's just that much sweeter when you beat a min/maxer. Team building is only part of the game.
