Here are me and my roommates first 10 custom mods for Heroclix.
We've built and painted the following:
DEADPOOL
CLOAK
DAGGER
CANNONBALL
DAZZLER
GUARDIAN
THE SHADE
AGENT X
FIRESTORM
WONDER MAN
SHATTERSTAR (Not too happy with this one)
QUARK (Not 100% done)
SUNSPOT (Jury still out on this one too)
NORTHSTAR
Our mods (http://ca.photos.yahoo.com/bc/windsorscene/lst?.dir=/HeroClix+Mods&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/)
Please leave feedback. These are our first mods so we're still figuring out the colouring and the kinks.
Thanks everyone.

From what detail I can see they look really nice. I like the Cannonball and Firestorm best. Vibrant colors and nice character selection. Cool effect for Sam flying. Just wish the pics were a little less blurry. Over all very nice. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more.
Funny, RCTpool said exactly the same thing I was going to say. Try to take better pictures to really show them off.

Try taking the pics froma distance so your camera can focus in on the figures. Red figures tend to disagree with digital cameras, but keep trying :)
bandwidth problems... couldn't see anything
great mods, really. i really liked the firestrom and cannonball effect for flying. however, wonder man's head is pretty small. was that on purpose (i havent read any avengers comics recently)?

thanks for all the great feedback guys, it means a lot.
i'm pretty happy with firestorm myself. i used the human torch's legs, pyro's body and head with the flames from a mage knight figure (holding a torch) for the flame head. i could've used firelord's staff flames, but i don't have any firelord doubles.
wonder man's head is proportioned right if the pic was clearer. it does look odd from the angle i used.
i'm going to try and take the pictures from farther away and then zoom in to get better picture of the detail. thanks for the advice shin!
i hope to get the new pics (or more detailed pics) up soon. then you'll see wonder man is properly done...poor angle on my part!
thanks again!

I really liked Cannonball. The explosion effect is excellent.

Okay guys, here's a new link to the mods. I took better close up pictures. Not 100% crystal clear but you get a far better look at the detail. Also, our newest ones are up, Northstar, Quark, Shatterstar, The Shade, Sunspot.
We're not too happy with Shatterstar - I think his face needs some work. We went with his red and blue costume cause we loved it in the comic, but it didn't transfer well to a clix. We're probably going to re-do him in his classic white uniform.
Also, we're torn with Sunspot. We're not sure if we like it or not. Any suggestions?

aah! everything in preportion!
about sunspot, i think he is either all black or all human. i dont recall if he was ever in between. it makes him look two-faceish. and that's a little awkward. just my opinoin.
also, i love your agent x!

Great mods. One suggestion: Get yourself a .005 point permanent black ink pen, to do very fine outlining, like where your yellows and reds meet, or to outline yellows and whites, add fine lines on boots, and to do eyes, to really give your figures a "polished off" appearance and finer detail than even Heroclix provides! You can find them in craft or caligraphy shops and sections of stores
hey i realy liked that cloak fig i think that is yer best one about to go into paintshop to clean up the pics to see how you did that cloak man thats awsom keep it up cant waite to see more B^)
ok i got a better look at it and now im wondering how many capes did it take to make that cloak for cloak and whose capes are they very good by the way im realy empressed B^)

Cloak was made with this:
Clayface III's body and cape (first layer)
Doombot's hood and cape (his cape was cut down the middle - then glued the right side under the right side of Clayface's cape and the left half of Doombot's cape under the left side of Clayface's cape. I did a bit of resculpting so the two pieces would fit in and blend in. The paint then covered up the connection lines)
I also s####ed out the Doombot's face and inserted the shaved off face of an African-American SHIELD figure.
That's pretty much the dealio.
Hope that helps!

Very cool stuff man!
I'm going to try modding myself soon, and your figs gave me some inspiration.
One question, though: How did you do Mr. Miracle? He's always been one of my favorite characters, but I wondered how he'd fare in Heroclix World. Does the figure stand up, or fall over?
Great Firestorm and Cloak too.

Mr. Mircale was a lot of fun to make.
Here's his "recipe".
I used:
Hawkeye's head and legs.
Clayface III's body and cape.
Part of a Doombot's cape (middle bottle) scuplted for his raised collar.
Took the black discs of a figure to make his anti-gravity discs (painting them yellow).
Cut off a little piece from Yellowjacket's foot (the little cylinder piece that sticks into the flyer base) and glued to it to one of the discs, then stuck it in a flyer base.
These are the stats I gave him.
Speed 9 9 8 8 7 7
Attack 9 8 8 7 7 6
Defense 18 17 17 16 16 15
Damage 2 2 2 1 1 1
88 points
JLA Team ability
I gave him a high defense on accounts of the awkward style he flies around.
Powers:
Flurry on first click
Plasticity for clicks 2-5 - I realize he's not really plastic, but it's to make up for his incredible body maleability and ability to get out of tough holds.
Foreblast for last click (one of his bombs)
Energy Explosion for clicks 1-2 (bombs)
Smoke Cloud for clicks 3-4
Incapacitate for click 5
Perplex for clicks 1-3 (his unorthodox flight style throws people off)
Outwit for click 4 (this is arguable, but his bizarre flight pattern on those discs will give him one great round near the end)
I'm sure many will argue over his stats and I would welcome any constructive points about what I gave him. I have my reasons for every click and value I gave him, studying my JL comics and several bios on the net to come up with these.
Hope this helps!

I've got a real newbie question, but since you were so helpful with the Mr. Miracle, I'll ask: How do you do the bases? Do you have something that prints in a circle like that, or do you draft them by hand?
Also, you listed a Guardian, but I didn't see it in your pix. Do you have one, or was that a typo? Would be cool to see.
Thanks a lot.

You can download a Dial Generator program from here
Ultimate HeroClix Resource (http://members.rogers.com/heroclix/)
Yeah, I forgot to put Guardian's pics up. I painted a ton more over the past few days (I've been off work sick).
I just did all these (pics will be up soon):
ABSORBING MAN
CAPTAIN BRITAIN
AURORA
VINDICATOR
PUCK
SHAMAN
SASQUATCH
GREEN ARROW
MAJOR FORCE
MIMIC
BLINK
MORPH
NOCTURNE
LONGSHOT
QUARK
NIMROD
TIGRA
LOBO
JACK OF HEARTS
WILD CHILD
I used all the batteries in my digital camera and being ill I haven't made it to the store to pick up new ones. But I will ASAP and post pics of all the new ones!

Nice stuff, again.
I like your choices of characters. If you're like me, I appreciate the second-stringers almost as much as the big guys, and you've done quite a few of those. Also, you're less likely to see them in an expansion anytime soon. I'd be curious to know how you did Jack Of Hearts in particular. Your Shaman turned out really well, I think. Where's Sasquatch? I was looking forward to seeing how you did him. Or her. Ha. :p

Still working on Sasquatch. He/she is probably about 60% done. I'm doing the white Sasquatch, so I can use with either my Alpha Flight team or my Exiles squad.
Jack of Hearts was actually done using a Mage Knight character (I forget which one) with Constrictor's head on Blastaar's flight base.
Thanks.
