Good Pictures.....

I visited my mom over the weekend and tried to take digital pictures of my mods and customs, but none turned out worth a darn. The camera would not focus when I moved close enough to be able to see the detail. How do you guys that have really good pictures do it? It is a great camera that takes good pictures usually, but I could not get a good one to save my life.

Was the camera's autofocus on? Turn it off and focus by hand.

I have a Sony Mavica, and after experimentation because of the same problem you had, discovered I needed to set it on portrait mode, then zoom in and adjust focus. All other modes would not allow a tight enough focus.

In summary, make sure autofocus is off, and experiment with different light settings beginning with wide angle, then zooming in on the figure and focusing by hand. Hope this helps.

Also some cameras have a Macro Fuction, this is for taking up close shots, Once I figured mine out, the pictures improved greatly

What i do sometimes, if i can't get a good pick with my camera......I use my scanner, but since the lid sometimes crushes the Figure....I leave the lid open, but put a piece of Printer paper over top, and i get great pics of my mods!
