Non-Single bases and special terrain borders

I've been wondering, say a double-based duo is playing in the Graveyard map, and one side is in the orange square, do they still qualify for the effects of that square if their entire base is not within it?

I was curious since on page 4 of the Player's Guide it says:
Special terrain (orange squares) that require a character to occupy the square, require the entire base must be occupying the terrain.

Characters with a base larger than 1x1 cannot fit in the square entirely, and would not be able to benefit.
