Good figure, the best healer in the game thus far!!!:):):)
Everyone is raving about this guy, but I just don't see it. Is he a good support piece? Sure. But honestly, he's too easy to ignore. Let him push to his second click, in the meantime, I'm taking out the rest of the team. In 'Golden Age' with the proper feats (Nanobots, Triage) he's going to be a pain to KO. In modern age, not so much, especially with the high Attack values on the newer figures. Great sculpt, and great power set, doesn't worry me too much though. I still gave him a high rating though, because he's really good, especially for the points.
Agreeing with W.I.T. on this one. Yes he is always the last piece KOed, does he scare me? no he may live until it's time to deal with him.
If you do only one thing make sure you do it well. Atom really isn't going to be helping much in a fight but with really good odds somebody's getting healed 65pts isn't too much to swallow.

It's not difficult to keep him from healing if it's really a problem. He's very difficult to kill, but he will crumple fast under a lot of pressure. Of course, what do you expect for 65 points?
the biggest reason this man is a pain if you can't see it you don't understand a good strategy i play this guy often i played him with lamp post batman when batman takes a big hit use that leap-climb to run him over there and what out hes back on that defend and perplex dial i played him with wizard shazam when hes on those hss dial hit run him to atom heal up and abuse his mystics harshly

Amazing piece if used correctly, although I discovered that using him as a crutch in a timed match can end up hurting you. When I played against him recently, every time I did damage to my opponent's figures, he would hurry them back to the Atom to be healed. My opponent had set up Atom in such a way that with the characters I had I was having a tough time getting to the healer to take him out. It was starting to frustrate me before I managed to one shot of my opponent's relatively high value pieces. Unfortunately for my opponent, he had spent too much time healing his figures when he could have used that time to KO my figures--time suddenly ran out and I won on points. Still, very powerful figure.

Team him with the starter's Wonder Woman and you'll have created the Clix version of Team Fortress 2's medic/Heavy combo.

...time suddenly ran out and I won on points. Still, very powerful figure. How does time "suddenly run out"? Isn't there a time limit on the rounds? And you're given time warnings ("10 minutes left" etc.).

Some judges announce "approximate time remaining" so as to combat clock-watching, i.e. declaring "approximately 10 minutes remain" when there are 13-14 minutes left, etc...
I know Norms follows this tact at the larger events (GenCon, etc...)

Oh, you know, one second you're sitting there playing HeroClix. The very next second, you're not. It's very sudden. BTW, I'm not really sure how my grammar merits its own response post in the units review section, but bless your heart anyway.

I know Norms follows this tact at the larger events (GenCon, etc...)Right. Most venues do that (I don't recall anyone very telling me the exact time left anyway); I just know that I have "less than 25" or "less than 10 minutes" to finish off my opponent.

I used him in conjunction with Green lantern in a game today, I lost tho =P.But he was the last player KO'd and he kept the Green Lantern alive for a long time, along with the green lantern's Green will power special ability (i love it). Needless to say, if played right, this figure can keep some otherwise Ko'd figures from being KO'd.

The dumbest character I've seen in a long time.8 range, 10 attack incap make him a great support attacker and allows for you main attackers to retreat behind him in the early game.20D from range (which could easily be 21) and shape change make him a great waste of actions on your opponents team. They want to 2 hit kill him before he pushes, but they never will.Phase teleport 10 movement allows him to easily escape any potentially dangerous situation. What are they gonna do, with 13 attack? Roll an 8 and hope the shape change does'nt kick in? Camouflage and Heightened Reflexes make this piece a beast.Taunt is also nice. 12 attack healing and all that D for 65 is just too much for me.Too good.
Yes he is a pain to kill but he provides almost no offensive support to your team and his healing just doesnt pay off in games it seems its too easy to disrupt he just seems like 65 points that could be better spent elsewhere. All that whining about him being broken turned out false. He is just a 65 point healer in a game that healing is no longer as important in.

In a 500 point game, my son combines The Atom (with an Indigo lantern) with Thor and Loki, and several other minor support pieces. It's devasting watching Thor & Loki deal damage, then take damage (while giving damage with mystics) and then heal almost automatically every turn.

He's a great support piece but I think he need some more offence capabilities to be comic accurate. Wasn't he able to mimic the other rings powers?
whenever I use this piece he is always the last one to go down if I lose. People want to kill him to keep me from healing my leads, but they give up on trying to get past that defense while they're getting pounded by other pieces.

This guy's just begging for Loner.
Annoying on the opposite side of the table. Terrific over here. Pretty basic healer, but that's all he needs to be.

Phase him in, Incap your opponents main damage dealer, push to phase him out and let him hang back to heal. Pair him with the White Lantern object for piece of mind. I have yet to play a bad game with this figure.

I love and hate this guy, he's good at 1 thing and 1 thing only but at that one thing he excels. I played a match where it came down to my opponent still having this guy on his second click, and me having a mongul on his 3rd click. I spent 12 minutes chasing this guy around while he ran from hindering spot to hindering spot, with me trying to roll a 10, when it finally happened I think the whole store heard me yell with excitement, my opponent and I determined that he should replace the sculpt with an Avatar of Cthulhu because he drives even the strongest man to madness.

I love the atom, I have played him in 300 pt games and kept him until last. I have not used his healing powers yet but just as he is he as one the game for me a few times.
Fun to make people angry with this guy. Had this guy waiting in the corner for my Secret Invasion Nick Fury, Bam back up to full.

He would be a fun herald. With an attack of 12 on support, he could even heal the big guy. :)
