Okay boys and girls, here we have 64 showtunes, from some of our favorite musicals, which will be pitted against one another, Match by Match, Round by Round, weeding them all out until they get to the FINAL MATCH, which will have our two favorite showtunes face against one another to see which one emerges as Grand Champion of our latest Rock Wars!

As always, this TOC should be voted using a very simple criteria, which song do YOU like more, which do YOU feel you would rather listen to, and which would YOU say is ultimately more deserving to move on. Easy. :)

Pretty basic really. Songs are matched up, you all vote on the one you like more, the winner goes to the Next Round, and we do this over and over again until the Rounds are Over. I do ask that you all give objective opinions and votes here, listening to all songs and arguments here within this TOC with an open mind, beginning to end, and base your honest votes from that.

You know the drill by now, but since I’m running this for the boss I’ll add his caveat - as always we ask that you please listen to each song again with each new match before voting. Thanks all. :)

So without further adieu, let’s get started with the latest match of many matches to come, in HCRs latest Rock Wars, Favorite Showtune!

I now give you:

YOU’RE WHAT YOU OWN (Rent) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL8QVkGfHMg)

vs.

THE SONG THAT GOES LIKE THIS (Spamalot) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js-6Lx-SZso)

So what say you all - which of these songs will move onto the Next Round, and which will go off-off Broadway?

So, why did all three of the next matches show up all at once? Because I'm not going to be around this weekend to post them daily and I'm already the back-up poster  Have a good weekend and I'll be back to tally votes some time Sunday.

Rent is not good at all, there is I think only one song from that show that doesn't drive me up the wall and this is not it. Spamalot on the other hand is fantastic.

Although, Spamalot isn't nearly as entertaining as the movie it's based on, it gets my vote here.

I don't have a real strong preference, but in recognition of Chris Sieber's spot on impersonation of Colm Wilkinson, I'll vote for The Song That Goes Like This

My lack of fondness for Rent has been mentioned before. Can't promise I'll be voting for this next round, but right now it's an easy choice.

The Song That Goes Like This to advance.
