View Full Version : Scott Pilgrim vs. HCRealms
As I eagerly await the arrival of Scott Pilgrim Vol. 6 and the movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World", I find myself wondering 'Why are there not Scott Pilgrim HeroClix?' So, I set out to remedy that. I started with the title hero, Scott Pilgrim.
*SPOILERS BELOW*
Unique Scott Pilgrim
Team: None
Range: 0 :bolt:
Points: 100
Keywords: Sex Bob-omb, Hero, Loser, Awesome

Trait - Likeable Loser: When a friendly character is within 4 squares of Scott Pilgrim, modify his attack by +1. If they both share a keyword, modify both of their attack values by +1
Speed - Best in the Provinence: Scott Pilgrim can use Charge and Flurry
Attack - Final Boss: Scott Pilgrim can use Blades/Claws/Fangs. After a successful attack, roll a d6 and MODIFY Scott's base damage value by the result which then becomes locked. This power ignores the "Rule of 3".
Defense - Extra Life: Scott Pilgrim can use Invulnerability and Regeneration
The first few clicks represent him in his first few fights, then it moves to a "Confused" click, due to his constant befuddlement over the "L" Word (Lesbians). Next, after he has gained his sword, he has B/C/F and Invulnerability to represent his love. As time goes on, he gets stronger and so does his love. I assume the next volume will see Him vs. Gideon, so I gave him the ultimate last clicks fitting a boss fight.
I then moved on to Ramona's Seven Evil Exes, let me know what you think.
#001 U Matthew Patel

Mr. Patel is Scott Pilgrim's first opponent and put up a valiant effort but in the end, failed like many who would follow. He has the ability to summon Demon Hipster Chicks, with Energy Explosion and Energy Shield / Deflection used to represent that. The reason for the 3 Targets but only 2 Damage is to incline people to use Energy Explosion.

He didn't do much in the Volume, so I gave him stat I felt reflected his archetype. Super Strength was a no brainer, Invulnerability + Toughness, and Charge.

Todd the Vegan Psychic possessed many powers, Telekinesis, Psychic Blast, and Force Blast. All of which is represented here. Not much more needs to be said about this guy.
I will post the rest tomorrow, and edit these guys a little as more inspiration comes to me.

hate the whole pilgrim thing and wish they'd go away...
Thank you. I'm not just a crazy voice parading around in a Single Jumpsuit!
Awesome Dials, Scott Pilgrim is a series that's very conducive to clix. People need to stop hating, for one if you don't like Scott Pilgrim (and you've actually taken the time to read volume one) then don't post in the thread. All your doing is being a downer for someone who has taken their time and excitement and tried to create something. At least be constructive if you don't like the dials. If you are just hating to hate then you need to correct yourself because the comic is really cool. It's not even kiddie, yeah it takes the energy from manga, but it does a whole lot more with it. I'm all for comics that are of a higher literary value, comics that make you think about important things, but not every comic needs to be that. Sometimes pure fun is all you need (although Scott Pilgrim has more value then that). Not every comic needs to be Ed Brubaker Sleeper, Alan Moore Watchmen, or Brian Michael Bendis Alias. Sometimes you just need a comic like Atomic Robo, She-Hulk or yes Scott Pilgrim.
At 175 Scott might be a bit too beasty. I think I'd drop him to 150 points and cut out the first click or two of those B/C/F (so he be 8 clix deep)
I wish Lucas Lee did a bit more then what we see, so the dial looks bland, but there's not much that I could think to add. The Todd and Matthew dials captures those characters pretty well.
I really want to see the dial for Knives. She is probably the second or third most click worthy. She needs Leap/Climb, B/C/F, and combat reflexes.

I haven't read any of the Scott Pilgrim comics, and thus wasn't originally going to post in here (since I have nothing to base the dials on). But this thread is a highlight of a major pet peeve of mine.
What purpose does it serve to come into this thread and rip on a dial maker because he made dials for characters/stories you don't like? There's no constructive criticism there. And there's no good reason to discourage someone from making dials. If you don't like what the maker's focusing on, don't bother reading it. There's no need to post stuff like:
NO with Pseudo-kiddy-Anime. No TO simplistic Writing. No to teen Actors like he who shall not be named.

What good does that do? If you hate the Scott Pilgrim stuff, then stay away from it. No need to bash a guy because he likes it.

I usually don't mind "blocky" dials, and as I haven't had a chance to read yet perhaps having each character attack in "phases" is appropriate, but all their dials are really blocky...for example;
Todd Ingram
Team: None
Range: 10 :bolt:

Keywords: League of Evil Exes, Celebrity, Vegan
m-winga-sharpshooterd-normalg-normal101017210917299172991618915281015279141KOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKO
Telekinesis: "Top of my class at Vegan academy"
Outwit: "The other 90% of my brain"
==========================
For only 8 more points, his dial is less blocky; it "reads" better and creates more interesting play strategies (how quick do you push off those early "supporting" clicks to get to his outwit and Psy-blast? Which power combo is his "strongest click?"). Some ideas on how to spice up other characters...
Scott Pilgrim: He seems a little over the top. Reading the wikipedia, it seems like he wins (early on) through luck, intelligence, and genre-saavy and less through brute force; perhaps his dial should reflect that (outwit, perplex, less combat powers, lower combat values). I agree his dial should be shorter and he should be cheaper as well.
Matthew: Summoning "demon hipsters" screams some sort of Special smokecloud ability...all the usual ones apply, so pick your favorite depending on what said demons actually do: 1) the markers deal damage; 2) the markers give action tokens; 3) the markers require a break-away roll in addition to doing everything hindering terrain normally does.
Lucas Lee: Simple brute is simple, but some insta-knockback or quake would be nice on his dial.
Well, I really appreciate all the constructive input and the assistance from Korbyn, Hawk, and Mr. Neelan.
I took the advice and shortened Scott's dial by one and lowered his point cost. The reason for such a long dial is that if he lands on his "L" Word Click then a nice hit will knock him out which I didn't want to happen.
As for the other three, I am going to go back and edit those tomorrow. Todd needs Earthbound on those last two to represent his powers being taken away. Also, I want to give him Pulse Wave and Running Shot. I will also make him Indomitable. Lucas will get Quake as well as a last click HSS which will push him to death. A nice play on his end in the Comic. M. Patel I like for what he is. To me, the Energy Explosion works perfect for the ability he shows in the Comics, but that is just my opinion.
I will also add Roxie the Half Ninja and The Katayanagi Brothers who will come with special Robot Minions...
But I appreciate the support and suggestions nonetheless and will improve these dials as I go along. I am still working and learning a bit more about these dial generators.

Scott's described as "the best fighter in the province [Ontario]" and he does kick the carp out of most of the villains, eventually.
Perplex could work for him, but he's actually quite stupid and shouldn't have Outwit. yeah, he basically talks Lucas Lee into killing himself, but the Outwit just wouldn't feel right for the character.
I'm not sure I get the "Final Boss" power. Is it adding the die result to damage dealt or is meant to add the result to Scott's damage value, a la Perplex.

I'ts called expressing ones opinion, which is the whole point of the threads here. I didnt rip on his dials or on him, I just dont like the pilgrim comics, and I dont have to. So what good does your trying to discourage peolple from being honest accomplish? Is this the nice words only thread or something? This is how a thread works, get used to it.
I didn't wish to begin criticizing your opinion because you are entitled to it, but since you seem intent on disturbing my thread I will. You obviously don't understand the concept of THIS thread, so I will explain it to you. This thread is about my DIALS, and it has nothing to do with whether you like Scott Pilgrim. This is not a Poll nor is it titled "Do you like Scott Pilgrim?". It is about the characters of Scott Pilgrim being made as HeroClix. Thus, your opinion is rendered useless and irrelevant due to your disliking.
As for the Scott Dial, I feel like Scott isn't able to Perplex anything at least on his own. Nothing he has done was smart, or if it was smart then it was someone else's doing. Lucas Lee IF planned was almost surely Wallace Wells' idea. Also, his trait allows for that Perplex if around other people like in the books when Wallace, Kim, Ramona, etc. are around.
I also will be making the supporting cast of Scott Pilgrim as well with Knives, Ramona, Wallace, Mr. Chau, Kim + Stephen Stills Duo, etc.

just like the idea of putting scott pilgrim in heroclix...useless and irrelevant.
you stated "you found yourself wondering why there are no scott pilgrim heroclix" That is what my comments are more based arond. His powers and abilites in the comic make sno sense and just because he can beat up other emo kids who all seem to have powers for some unexplained reason, does not mean they should be on the same level as dc and marvel characters.

love the dials. Can't wait for the movie. Edgar Wright is the only guy who could pull this one off in my opinion, so I was overjoyed when I heard he was the one directing.
Yeah, because ALL Marvel and DC character have powers, are super strong, and can't be beaten by anyone other than those from these two universes. And NO OTHER Comics in the world have any validity compared to those two.::Sarcasm::
I am sorry that you NEED to be TOLD how someone gained skill in a certain area. The world must be a confounding place and you must read a TON of biographies. But that reminds me, can you explain to me how Lebron James got so good at Basketball?
At one point, they made several INDY Comics into HeroClix, so obviously my opinion isn't useless and irrelevant. Also, if you READ Scott Pilgrim you would know they do explain several people's abilities and how they got them. So congratulations on being informed and knowledgeable instead of just an ignorant hater.

I love Scott Pilgrim.
I wouldn't even mind clix. They are standing just on the threshold of appropriateness.
But I think the dials are off.
Scott Needs some love power, and Without a Romona Flowers Transporter, why bother with any of them at all? she's the entire reason for any of them to fight at all.
Scott definitely needs some True Love power.

bite your tongue! by the very rules of literature, he absolutely could. wanna know how? all any character in any universe would have to do to be eventually defeated by Scott is to have Dated Ramona Flowers. (she traipses around hyperspace all the time, so not impossible) If Galactus had Dated Ramona, but the very definition of what makes Scott the character he is, Galactus would be defeated.
now, I'm not saying a Scott Pilgrim Heroclix should be of that power level, but even though he lives in a quirky universe, he's like the Ryu of his quirky universe. If he were in a fighting game like Marvel Vs Capcom, he'd kick as much ### as anybody.
I just think the dials need more character FEELING!

I don't think it's a matter of somebody disliking it, I think it's a matter of someone being rude and small minded. The series is a lot of fun and it's accsessible to tons of people. I have seen people from all walks of life pick up this series and completely enjoy it. It's well written in that it acomplisehes what it sets out to do. Is it New Frontier, Marvels or Hellboy? No, but the comic is pure fun and a great gateway read to get people into reading other comics. Calling it emo is... foolish and is probably a sign of someone who has never given the read a chance. I have never considered myself to be a person to like emo or anime/manga. My typical affair is stuff like crime comics like Criminal, Powers, Alias or Daredevil and Captain America, but I really enjoy the pure fun of Scott Pilgrim and what it sets out to do.

To be fair, I've only been on the Realms for so long, buy I think Slade's contributed a lot more than Hellboy has. So the person who's done a lot more for the Heroclix community ought to have some degree of respect. So to call Slade a troll, is really exaggerating.
Also, to the OP. This isn't really your thread either. Sure you created it and opened it, but the Mods or Admin can easily close it and do what they will. So your whole "only those who like Pilgrim-clix allowed here" vibe you have for this thread isn't really viable either.
I could say Hellboy sucks, granted I don't. I think he's cool. But I'm entitled to my opinion. I should be allowed to say a certain character doesn't appeal to me without being called a troll or condemned. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.
Not to mention this is a PUBLIC forum. If the OP didn't want anyone commenting on his "heroes" than he should have been a little more open minded before posting on an OPEN topic. If it's open domain, there's always gonna be someone indifferent or with their own opinion ready to project it. Not everyone likes this Scott Pilgrim character. I for one, have never heard of him.
Like I said from the start, its not a Poll or Debate. I wasn't asking who liked the character, I asked what people thought of my Dials. If you have nothing to contribute BUT saying you don't like the character then this is not the place for you. Take it somewhere else. The reason we have separate areas of the forum are for that one reason. As for this not being "my thread" you're right, it's technically not. But that doesn't change the fact that it's still rude to come into this thread and say you don't like something unwarranted. It is no different than me going to each thread and saying "I don't like Spider-Man. He is Emo." That is TROLLING regardless of who does it. Slade can do whatever he wants to help the Realms and I appreciate anyone who helps this place out. But I am not going to give him special treatment because of it. He came in to my thread and insulted the character and by extension my enjoyment of the character. It's rude no matter how you paint it.

The bolded part shows you just don't get Scott Pilgrim. The italicized part shows you're absolutely dead on in your criticism of Cloo's dials. These two very separate issues have gotten completely tangled in this thread because, well, your dislike of Scott Pilgrim was the only thing you initially communicated in a forum whose unofficial standards of etiquette is: "criticize the dials, not the character."
That Cloo's dials were utterly fanboi didn't help matters.

So what good does your trying to discourage peolple from being honest accomplish? Is this the nice words only thread or something? This is how a thread works, get used to it.
So how would you react if I popped into one of your dial posts and said "I think the character sucks and shouldn't be made into clix" without knowing or saying ANYTHINg about your dial? Would you take that seriously? Would that help you improve as a dial maker?
If you thought they were overpowered, or overcosted, or that they had the wrong powers, fine. You can post negative opinions. I have no problem with criticism. But if your only thought is that you hate the characters, just stay out of the thread.
Rowr!
(I love Scott Pilgrim, but the dials are a bit much and would be difficult to translate into heroclix)
Rurouni, I don't see how the characters of Scott Pilgrim are so inferior ability wise to DC and Marvel. Scott is shown to be a proficient brawler with proficient sword techniques. Todd has Telekinesis, which is perfectly valid in both universes. Lucas Lee obviously has a measure of Super Strength and Durability. The Twins have the intelligence necessary to create several robots capable of fighting. Now, I agree my dials are a bit over the top. I also agree they should be toned down. But not significantly enough that Scott or any of the others shouldn't be able to hold their own in the Clix world.

Rurouni, I don't see how the characters of Scott Pilgrim are so inferior ability wise to DC and Marvel.
Scott Pilgrim is a comedy set in a madcap universe, like Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes. Different standards.
I'd say they're straddling the border between cartoon and comic reality.
I would be okay with them in Clix, more so than other things like this since the action in the comics fits so well into the style of play of Heroclix.
Not only is the action all about brawling matches, but the action is in a style that is very much comic book based... as others have said... ninja powers, Robot building, Telekinesis, Super Strength and toughness, magical swords...
there isn't a power in Scott Pilgrim's world that isn't easily adaptable by the Heroclix rules set. That tells the whole tale right there if you ask me.
and it would be fun. Isn't fun important? I think it is.

NO with Pseudo-kiddy-Anime. No TO simplistic Writing. No to teen Actors like he who shall not be named.
Someone has not read the comics, clearly.
The character development is amazing and the dialogue witty, clever and unique. The thing about Scott Pilgrim is that it's totally, amazingly charming. Clever, charming, and straight entertaining. There's a reason why every comic site is falling all over themselves giving it props.
Because it's really, really good.
I like your dials, I think they are more realistic but Scott needs Blades/Claws/Fangs and some form of Toughness. Also, I think his dial should be at least one click longer. Todd needs more ES/D and his special powers are missing.
I really like your Matthew, Lucas, and Knives.
EDIT: I also Edited my Scott Pilgrim dial to be less overpowered but still fitting how I feel about the character. I am working on a Wallace Wells because I don't want my thunder stolen haha.

GAAHH. How'd I completely miss Todd's SPs? Editing now. EDIT: Edited. :) Also added a bit of Toughness to the lead, 'cause...yeah. He's Scott Pilgrim.
Wallace Wells is basically a bystander whose only abilities are being fairly cool and very gay. Kim and Stacey and Julie and Joseph and the rest also are pretty much pogs. I only care about the fighting characters. No thunder will be stolen, there. :p
(I usually don't add my own versions into existing threads but I felt I needed to represent in this all-too-aptly-named thread. RAWR!! (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/43/119909623_03d9419a2e.jpg))

The Irony of this post is So Thick...I can spread it like Mayonaise.
Dude...you Just Compared the Wonderful art and Writing Of Quality, And Darkhorse Comics AND The Hellboy Series to Scott Pilgrim.... I mean sure you can have your own opinions and that's well and good But I would never ever say that the Darkness is down on the same level as Scott...ever. (Power wise yes, Comic and story writing no). But again this is an opinion.
Your dials are OK though, from what I Know of Scott

I Honestly try all things that I can before Criticizing them. Visually it was an Eye sore and it seemed to be the same type of character Development we see in movies like "Juno", not like character Development we see in Say, Heart of Darkness, or Suicide Squad...or even Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead (to give a variety of examples)
I am 18. I Detest most of my generation's "Taste" In things such as this. But To get back on Track: I DID TRY READING IT. I gave it a shot and said "oh well this isn't for me". I didn't simply write it off because of the way it appeared. I mean I TRIED Hack/Slash AND LOVED IT. From teh Covers and the Suicide Girls tie-in (UGH) You'd think its just another Tits and ### Goth Girl Comic but no. It has phenomenal writing not just for a horror comic but a comic in general. It did so well that Tim Seeley (The writer) moved the title from DDP to Image. His writing was so good in fact that I Continued to buy issues even after they started a new artist who did Pseudo-Anime for the character. Do you know why that is? Because I wanted to see if and How Cassandra Hack Changed.
It's a Wonderful Series and I recommend you check it out. I mean they parody/reference tons of stuff from Troma to Chucky to Archie. Yes the Redhead All American Teen himself is parodied in two stories starring "Our Boy Taber".
Wow Tangent. Sorry Anyway:
I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm merely stating my opinion. Its not my cup of tea and I'd be willing to take it more seriously if the art didn't make my eyes want to bleed....and it was also a bit de-legitimized by the fact that the Anime kids at barnes and nobles Decided to approach me and try to relate to me (because I'm asian and they're white...therefore I must be some sort of wise sensei or ninja...) and go on about how they're into "Real Comics" like Batman, or Spiderman and of course Scott Pilgrim.
Bleh I'm sorry if I caused ####.
I'm not an Important person but if you can get five people but I offer a challenge: IF you can get Three people to PM with Five Different Reasons (Combined) , intelligent factual reasons cited from the text, to read this I Will. I mean I'm not sticking my head in the sand here.

So how would you react if I popped into one of your dial posts and said "I think the character sucks and shouldn't be made into clix" without knowing or saying ANYTHINg about your dial? Would you take that seriously? Would that help you improve as a dial maker? I would defend my idea without having to take a verbal swing at the person for their opinion, in sort I'd show some class.
If you thought they were overpowered, or overcosted, or that they had the wrong powers, fine. You can post negative opinions. I have no problem with criticism. But if your only thought is that you hate the characters, just stay out of the thread.

Props to Cloo for starting the thread. Slade has his opinion, which was not well put to begin, but has been well defended since. I like the redesign of Scott by Rurouni, representing what I feel is a single fight, and I like the original one by Cloo, which is designed to possibly fight through all evil exes.
I'm looking forward to the dial for Roxie Richter. Stealth, B/C/Fangs, and other Ninja powers.
Scott Pilgrim has been amazing since it came out in 2004 and I'm happy to have been buying it since. I'm making some vegan Shepard's pie to celebrate.
Slade, as I said to begin with, you may think your comment was innocent and the backlash that followed was unwarranted but it was still trolling. You came in here and said that you hate "The whole pilgrim thing" which obviously refers to fans. So, thus you insulted the fans, which is ME. You can believe whatever you want, but the facts remain on my side. I do agree they are a bit "Looney Toons" but at the same time that shouldn't disqualify it. There are plenty of actual comics that are ridiculous and, often times, "emo" as you like to put it. Your reasoning was NEVER explained by you initially, it was simply your opinion stated after the fact. Rurouni is the only one who has made a valid argument against Scott as "HeroClix", but really it's a bit of splitting hairs and I would defer to simply say let's make PilgrimClix (like HaloClix etc.) to settle the debate.

I don't see where I'm being all that rude. Maybe a little blunt, but I'll admit to being rather defensive when it comes to this issue. I just don't see the need for you, or Troma, or anyone, to come in here and comment negatively not because of any fault with the dials, but because you don't like the characters. That's not constructive for anyone.
I never insulted you, called you names, etc. Considering how long you've been around here and how many fantastic dials you've posted here over the years, I've got too much respect for you to do that. On the flip side, that also means I'd expect more respect toward other dial makers out of you. You'd know better than most how much work can go into getting a dial to be what you want.
The idea, at least as far as I've always thought, was to encourage new dial makers, because the more the merrier. How does it encourage anyone if all you can say is that you don't like the subject matter? If you've got a legit issue with the dials, then post it. If a guy really doesn't know what he's doing and it shows, say so. Just writing the entire thing off because you don't like the characters? That's rude, IMO.

I will admit that while I do not LIKE The Property the thing is that I can see WHY These figures would be made into clix. (I mean how hypocritical would it be for me to want THE TICK!, or Hack/Slash [Hc/Hrc] figures and not be ok with them making it).
However it seems like the OP is getting a bit sensitive to the subject matter. I was not attacking your taste merely the property. Slade was not attacking you directly but the fanbase as whole.
ANd the Irony remains thick while people are trolling troll comments, calling other people ignorant while others lash out at the subject matter at hand.

So the problem here is the term emo being used as a Pejorative. I do agree when you compare it to Hot Topic and their self labelling of the word "Emo" It does...well...line up...doesn't it?
Oh and there are Emo Clicks. Remember The tag-line for the Raven mini-series

Oh and just a sidenote: Comparing Pilgrimclix to Haloclix (unless you're implying to making them Separate games with separate mechanics) is detrimental to your argument since it tanked. I mean wouldn't that be implying simply that Despite being a semi-popular to popular property that it wouldn't thrive in a clix environment simply because people would prefer the actual thing or other simulations...isn't a Scott Pilgrim video game coming out?
Just a thought.

Thats all I said. how did I bash or insult anyone on this thread by stating that? maybe you all are too sensetive/emo. the answer I didn't!!
You didn't insult the people directly, no. But you insulted the thing we're a fan of. And as a fan yourself, you know how fans can take stuff personally! (Not saying we should. But we often do anyway.)
Quoted for agreement.
So the problem here is the term emo being used as a Pejorative.
Yep. I've never heard it used otherwise.
I'm late to the Scott party. Aside from the FCBD short (which I thought was neat), he stayed under my radar until maybe mid-2009, when I truly realized this indie "slice-of-life" comic was also really hopped up on martial arts comedy and video game geek culture.
Yeah, my Scott is a one-fight pony. I'm waiting for the final volume to do an LE Scott Pilgrim complete with sword and full experience points.

With the HSS in hindering, you are aware she starts at half movement still, right? Not sure if that was the intent you were going for.
Here is the thing, rude is rude. I don't care if he intended to insult me or not. He did, as well as my friends who all like Scott Pilgrim. Then on top of that, he kept coming in here and disrupting my thread. Which continued to be rude and led to my insults and own rude behavior. As far as PilgrimClix go, I just would like to see the dials made and be able to play with them. That is all I have ever been saying and I still think there is a place for them as there is nothing done in the world of Pilgrim that is universe breaking compared to DC / Marvel.
Also, yes I understand the labeling of things as "Emo" as that is a label, but like all labels it is wrought with ignorance. However, I also find it simplifying to label Scott Pilgrim as Emo simply because in it exists Drama and Emotion. All good works contain both of those.
Also, I agree that people have been trolling trolls. However, that still goes back to Slade's and Your original posts which were unnecessary and started this whole thing. I commented on yours with sarcasm and was willing to leave it at that AND leave his alone but that was not to be the case.
EDIT: To respond to Rurouni, my Scott is the Scott from all volumes as he goes through his journey, complete with the blade and made to seem like a video game click.

Really? You're bagging on "Juno" now?
It seems you're confusing "plot-driven" storytelling with "character-driven" storytelling. Scott Pilgrim and Juno and The Empire Strikes Back are all fine examples of the latter. Most action movies and Suicide Squad (and heck, most comics) are the former (though SS I would say falls in between). Neither's better than the other unless you prefer your apples over oranges.

Fair enough of an assessment. But I just didn't like Juno. Again I didn't expect it to be Heart of Darkness good in developing a character but I expected a bit more for all the HYPE that went with it before seeing it.
I'm just not hip to stories that play off marketing to teenagers. I'm sorry. I really Am. It just seems like mass marketing is more concerned with selling than story writing. Sure I may be asking for more than what theyr'e offering and I'm not contextualizing what they're trying to do (And that's give Michael Cerra MORE Work). I suppose I'm just contradictory. I have no real valid opinion. Like how Michale Seems to always be the same character in slightly different situations...I mean I loved arrested Development but after that he just hasn't really done anything for me.
Ruroni I'm not saying this to brown nose but in all honesty, and this is intended tobe a compliment: I HATE Most of the properties you do for you dials. I hate Naruto with a Burning...BURning...Burning like an STD passion. However..your dial making makes me want to actually read the properties to GET INTO your dials.
I'm late to the Scott party. Aside from the FCBD short (which I thought was neat), he stayed under my radar until maybe mid-2009, when I truly realized this indie "slice-of-life" comic was also really hopped up on martial arts comedy and video game geek culture.

I too got in on the franchise late. I read all six volumes in two days, but I do stuff like that. I also just watched season 4 of Dexter over the course of two days... I hate waiting, so I wait until I don't have to wait between chapters.
I just can't wait for the next (and last) chapter in the comics series! The ending of the sixth was just so heartbreaking! Well, It'll be out later this month.
From what I've heard there will be a different ending in the movie, and the movie will take some liberties, but much like Kick-###, the movie and comics writers cross-pollinated ideas, so though they might be different, they should both be good.
I can see you have a handle on the dials... so I'll just sit back and enjoy.
I just noticed Rurouni's edited Scott Dial and with the understanding of it being one fight, I like it a lot more. Perfection in fact. I, of course, still really like mine for an LE to cover (what I assume will be) the whole series.

Rurouni is the only one who has made a valid argument against Scott as "HeroClix", but really it's a bit of splitting hairs and I would defer to simply say let's make PilgrimClix (like HaloClix etc.) to settle the debate.
im going to take this by the numbers and maybe, just maybe you will understand where I am coming from.
1) Slade, as I said to begin with, you may think your comment was innocent and the backlash that followed was unwarranted but it was still trolling. So now your going to try and tell me what my intent was? No sir you cannot possibly do that unless you are me. It is a very common thing for emails or written statement s to be taken the wrong way, that is exactly what happened from the get go.
2) You came in here and said that you hate "The whole pilgrim thing" which obviously refers to fans. So, thus you insulted the fans, which is ME.This statement could not be more wrong, I was referring to exactly what i said "the whole pilgrim thing." meaning the story in and of itself. For you to take anything else from that statement would be an assumption. You speak for yourself and I speak for myself, that’s how it works. Maybe you should ask for clarity before you make an arrogant presumption. I like things that are silly too. But if someone doesn't agree with me, I don’t take it as a call to arms.
3) So, thus you insulted the fans, which is ME. Again false, you have to pull a lot of your own thoughts to take that from my statement. for this to be true i would have had to make mention of the fans of S.P. I neve did. Accept it you are worong in your assumption.
4) Your reasoning was NEVER explained by you initially, it was simply your opinion stated after the fact. How can you possibly admit that my opinion was never explained and yet use it to say i insulted anyone? you completely contradicted your earlyier statements here.
5) Rurouni is the only one who has made a valid argument against Scott as "HeroClix", but really it's a bit of splitting hairs and I would defer to simply say let's make PilgrimClix (like HaloClix etc.) to settle the debate. Ok here i am in 100% agreement, and this would have been a much better statement for me to make, however there was still nothing wrong with my initial statement. You just didnt like it and you took it as a personal assult, then acted rudley and started with the insults. Sorry buddy you swung first. So dont exepct to not get swung at back.
In closing this happens to be a thread where people are welcome and encouraged to give their opinions, for you or anyone to say exactly how they should post is frankly not for you to say.
Before you make such assumptions, ask for clarity and the whole thing can be avoided, or simply have an understanding that they make choclate and vanilla for a reason.
If you still need to defend your position, without admiting to any of your false assumptions go ahead. I can at least see why you took it as you did, but that really has very little to do with me and alot to do with yourself.
THE END!!!!

Glad you asked, if you really want to know here it is:
My point is this, I was bashed first simply for stating my opinion that was not an attack on anyone. so instead of handling it you and your buddy took it as personal and tried to make me out to be the bad guy, when in turn you and he were the ones to insult and act rudley long before I did.
I dont think its right or fair for you or anyone to accuse someone of the very thing you are doing yourself. I think you would benefit greatly by looking in the mirror and working on yourself, instead of instructing others on how they should act. Especially when you and he were never insulted in my opening opinion.
hypocritical - deceptive, just pretending to be good, as in: It is hypocritical to say tell another to behave a certain way and then do the exact opposite yourself.
If there was any insults on this thread they were started by Cloo41 and you. What gives you the right to think that it is ok for you to correct others, when you yourself take the issue to a whole new level?
If this is falling on deaf ears, go ahead insult me some more... or just maybe you can understand truth when you hear it and we can start being more friendly.

How bout this just realize that this all could have been avoided if you didnt take a simple statement and blow it into so much more. (Trolling indeed) Or next time ask for clarity before you insult somone.
On my end I'll let it go and stop posting unless I have something to offer, would that be fair?
Here's the problem:
this thread isn't about you.
It never was. It's about something you profess to have no interest in. Something you don't like. So why are you in here strutting around and distracting?
Why are you so damn important mr?

If there was a thread titled "why Slade Wilson's opinion on things he has no interest in" I would absolutely not post in it, read it, or give it a second's thought. I hope that if another Scott Pilgrim thread pops up, I don't see you in it.
As for this one, since nobody's allowed to discuss Scott Pilgrim without you distracting from the topic, I'm going to unsubscribe and go read something else on the internet.
nice job.
Look Slade, you may not have meant to offend us with your opening comment but you did. You used "the whole pilgrim thing" which I feel implies fans. As the word "whole" encompasses "everything" which would logically include fans. Then you used the word "they" which wouldn't refer to just Scott Pilgrim the book or series as that would be an "it". Now, I know your intention wasn't offending me but it doesn't change the fact that it resulted in offending me. THEN you kept disturbing my thread which was a secondary offense to me. So, regardless of if my assumption was correct or not you engaged in rude behavior from the onset. I also admitted I was rude to you, but only after your actions warranted it in my opinion. Also, you should know that insulting something someone enjoys would be seen as offensive. Which you did when you called it "emo" before I resorted to being rude. So, in my mind, I gave you three strikes. Also, Hellboy isn't my friend, I have never met him in my life. Nor are the others who also think you were being rude. You can argue til you're blue in the face, but in the end, you came in here and disturbed us. THAT is the End of the story.

here was the first intended rude comment directed at a person rather than scott pilgrim, made by you i might add: So congratulations on being informed and knowledgeable instead of just an ignorant hater. so who was rude first? I would have to go with calling somone an ignroant hater rather then what I said. My comments were never aimed at you.
there was nothing rude up until that point just a difference of opinion.
lets go over this one final time!
my first statement: I hate the whole scott pilgrim thing and wish it would go away...
here is what you took from that: I hate the whole scott pilgrim thing and wish it would go away, I wish the fans would go away, I wish this thread would go away, anyone who likes it is an idiot.
not what I said, but it is how you took it. As you already admited.
The lesson here is I cant help how you take something, but dont try and tell me what my intent was. As for being insulted by somone not liking what you like, People disagree on films, tv shows, books, comics, political views, religon you name it. It does not mean im insulting you by not liking what you like. I dont even know you, why would i insult you? This is and has always been the issue and the error.
You said you wish "they'd go away" which I felt insulted me. However, I relent now that this was a false assumption, as I said before. Secondly, I was offended by your "emo" comment and not by you disliking simply Scott Pilgrim. You referred to Scott as "emo" and everyone he faces as "emo" I found this a slight against the characters as being "emo". You never back it up, and simply resort to name calling which I am sure if I did to character you liked you would find it a bit offensive. THEN I go on to be rude. Like I said, three strikes, your initial comment, your constant intrusions, and your slight against the characters and by extension the book.

It was the utter ambiguity of your original statement that lit this fuse. As Cloo has amply demonstrated and explained, the phrase "the whole Scott Pilgrim thing" can easily be taken to mean the character, the comic, the film, the acclaim and the fans. That's because they're all part of the Scott Pilgrim thing.
Heck, I'm a lot less excitable than Cloo or Hellboy are on this and that's how *I* took your meaning (except maybe part about the fans). I was taken aback a bit because you're usually so magnanimous, especially in this forum.
Finally and again, this is kind of the bottom line on this issue for me you deliberately posted your intense dislike for a property in a Dreams and Desires thread with zero initial comment on the dials, constructive or otherwise. Let me emphasize this point: You only entered this thread to rip on the character, and no other reason. That's not like you and is personally disappointing.
(Full disclosure: Hellboy and I used to play the same venue before he moved early this year. But it's just a happy accident that we're both come-lately Pilgrim fans.)

Heck, I'm a lot less excitable than Cloo or Hellboy are on this and that's how *I* took your meaning (except maybe part about the fans). Finally — and again, this is kind of the bottom line on this issue for me — you deliberately posted your intense dislike for a property in a Dreams and Desires thread with zero initial comment on the dials, constructive or otherwise. I will admit I could have went on to comment on the dials, but I decided not to. this area is called dreams and desires not you can only talk about dials, my desire is for SP to go away, so from a certain point of view my comment was fine.

You said you wish "they'd go away"(yep scott and all the other characters, I said nothing about fans.) which I felt insulted me. (Why are you secretly a character form the book? if so wich one? i must know) However, I relent now that this was a false assumption, as I said before. (yes, thankfully i am proud to see you admit that) Secondly, I was offended by your "emo" comment and not by you disliking simply Scott Pilgrim.(many people feel that the book has an emo flare, i didnt invent that) You referred to Scott as "emo" and everyone he faces as "emo" I found this a slight against the characters as being "emo". You never back it up, and simply resort to name calling which I am sure if I did to character you liked you would find it a bit offensive.( no i wouldnt i can accept that we dont all like the same stuff) THEN I go on to be rude. Like I said, three strikes, your initial comment, (ok) your constant intrusions, (wich were comments either responding to a rude comment or backing up my opinion) and your slight against the characters and by extension the book. ok i never back it up you say well here you go a bunch of comments from other online not me:
Hmmm, I think my analogy just showed me the appeal of Scott Pilgrim it's an emo One Piece only with jokes stolen from every game webcomic and movie out there.
I'd rather see Scott Pilgrim as some sort of loser than as this ... a guy having to fight a bunch of emo punks to win over some emo girl. ...
I'm going to have to complain. I was sickened by the [movie] trailer, it looked like some emo hispter bull####. I really hope that new style of movie doesn't become more ubiquitous.
Basically its an emo/indie story full of emo/indie kids doing emo/indie things.
again these are not my comments but just a few that I have seen posted and there seems to be a big audience of folks that feel it is very emo.
regardless of all of this the point is you took my comment out of its intended form and put ideals in writting that were not mine own. You then insulted me with your "ignorant comment"
I usually just ignore this kind of stuff but all the rudness that was direct toward me for not liking what somone else likes was way more of an attack and an intended one than my comment. you and hellboy should really just realize that and stop defending yourselves, just try being nicer thats all.
I don't care how other view it, "emo" or not. You called it "emo" here, not them. That offended me. Sorry, but it did. Your actions were perceived by me as rude and it was more than one instance. You can intend it to be however you want, but if you didn't want to offend someone you should have clarified yourself. Like Rurouni said, you simply came in here to denounce "the whole pilgrim thing" whatever you meant by that and that was all you wanted to do. You trolled in my thread and continued to do so. That was more than enough to warrant a backlash in my mind.

I called it "emo" because it is look it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo#Fashion_and_stereotype
I didnt troll anything I expressed my opinion and you had a problem with it, you said rude comments i fired back, thats not trolling.
I already admited my comment was ambiguity but agian that means:
Ambiguity: is a condition where information can be understood or interpreted in more than one way. Context may play a role in resolving ambiguity. For example the same piece of information may be ambiguous in one context and unambiguous in another.
you attached before you knew that context, that is why you fail...
you know what Im very tired of trying to get you to see the error of your ways. there is a bible quote that says it much better than I can, ready here it is:
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
ok, bottom line you were the one to insult first because you found something I said offensive, yet I never aimed it at you or any other person I was talking about a character and his book. You directly insulted me, you cant defend that but you could be mature and say, "ok if you didnt mean it that way, cool lets move on". I have given you this chance multiple times and you have yet to take it without needing to defend yourself for insulting me.
I understad how you took it, you were wrong for taking it that way.
whatever buddy, I'm moving on there are some men you simply cannot reach...
I insulted you first? Since you like definitions so much:
Insult: to affect as an affront; offend or demean.
Affront: a personally offensive act or word.
I found it personally offensive when you initially and continued to disturb my thread.
Offend: to irritate, annoy, or anger; cause resentful displeasure in.
I was offended by both your actions and comments, thus this is effectively two insults prior to any of mine. So, turn that bible passage around to yourself first.
you know speaking of Emos and nerds this thread seems like it belongs on VF (Where I also post a lot) over here.

[COLOR="Blue"]I called it "emo" because it is look it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo#Fashion_and_stereotype
Huh. Yeah. You REALLY don't get Scott Pilgrim. If it seems a little "emo" it's only because that fashion and stereotype is fairly mainstream.
I'm much older than the emo trend, but a lot of it reminds me of my college days back in the early 1990s. These hipster kids ain't nothin' new...just less grungy.
Hmmm, I think my analogy just showed me the appeal of Scott Pilgrim – it's an emo One Piece only with jokes stolen from every game webcomic and movie out there.
Sheesh! You REALLY don't get Scott Pilgrim if you can oversimplify it to that. "An emo 'One Piece'?" Really? The only thing they've got in common is a scruffy-headed lead who's a bit of a dense loser sometimes yet surprisingly capable in the pinch.
Wait. Isn't that "Naruto?" Or maybe "Spider-Man?" Or ANY "currently down-on-his-luck hero?"
I understad how you took it, you were wrong for taking it that way.
Hmm. Biblically speaking, it's the offender who should humble himself. And your offense, as I've stated earlier, is not that you insulted the whole Scott Pilgrim thing (which is understandable if the film is your first exposure to it. I'm not sure it'll really "work" onscreen the way it does as a comic) but that you came into a Dreams & Desires dials thread with nothing but snarky comments about the characters. So while Cloo might be wrong to interpret your comments as a personal attack (despite the high degree of ambiguity in your admittedly inflammatory statement), he — and I — aren't wrong to be annoyed by the non-constructive nature of said statement.
I don't want an apology (though others may appreciate one). Just don't do it again. You're a great contributor to the site.
(Scott Pilgrim is still totally awesome)
Sucrebo gets Scott Pilgrim. Which makes me want to quote part of a PM reply I made to Slade on the subject:
I guess Scott Pilgrim touches a raw nerve in people — either you get it and love it or you don't and kinda despise it. :classic: I understand.
When I first realized the comic wasn't just some boring indie slice-of-post-teenage-band-life story, I checked it out. Got about 4/5 through the 1st volume and thought: "OK. This is an OK story. Humorous in spots. Very well-drawn. But it's just OK."
Then the first evil ex-BF busts through the ceiling and I'm totally hooked. Because I get it. It's really not something I can explain.
(Interestingly, my younger brother, currently a language student in mainland China, can't wait for the film. He's never read a page of the comic. But he gets it too.)
....Ruroni...your posts have had a lot of valid logic but just Screaming "YOU DON'T GET IT" seems..infantile...its a generic response I Expect from you know....a Teenager. I mean what is it we're not "Getting"

Huh. Yeah. You REALLY don't get Scott Pilgrim. If it seems a little "emo" it's only because that fashion and stereotype is fairly mainstream. So it is admitedly emo, what is so offensive about that.
I'm much older than the emo trend, but a lot of it reminds me of my college days back in the early 1990s. These hipster kids ain't nothin' new...just less grungy. I too am older, and the trends are always thewre but that still doesnt make anyone who is emo, less emo. Its simply a cultural thing.
Sheesh! You REALLY don't get Scott Pilgrim if you can oversimplify it to that. "An emo 'One Piece'?" Really? The only thing they've got in common is a scruffy-headed lead who's a bit of a dense loser sometimes yet surprisingly capable in the pinch. That quote was not mine, did you read the post? the point was it seems that it is pretty common for people to refer to it as emo. again, whats so bad or offensive about that?
Wait. Isn't that "Naruto?" Or maybe "Spider-Man?" Or ANY "currently down-on-his-luck hero?" Nah to put spiderman in the same category as naruto or Scott Pilgrim is just comic blasphmeny.
See this is the whole issue, there is a major difference between somone saying they dont like something that is a form of enertainment, and another being offended by it. Versus somone outright isulting an individual for stating thier opinion. Why cant you "Get it"? I find it amazing that you of all people would make make alotments usch as "maybe" for somone being unintentionally insulted Vs. somone being insulted intentionally. There is not strict code of conduct that requires us from making such a simple statement as I did, it really isnt that big a deal. The way others got so emotional about this explains a lot about why the word "emo" is so offensive to them, it hits close to home.
I don't want an apology (though others may appreciate one). Just don't do it again. You're a great contributor to the site. Thank you you too are also a great contributor to the site. As for the dont do it again, until I get a warning fro moderator that I am violating a code of conduct, I can do as I please, the whole basis of dreams and desires is to post opinions, not just on dials but on desires, I desire Scott pilgrim to go away and not be made into heroclix...why, sooo, serious!?!
Sucrebo gets Scott Pilgrim. Which makes me want to quote part of a PM reply I made to Slade on the subject: I love how you keep saying "gets it". I get it, and have read some of scott pilgrim myself. I just didnt find it so amazing and awesome as some did. It doesn't mean I didnt "get it" because I didnt feel it was such an incredible read.
I guess Scott Pilgrim touches a raw nerve in people — either you get it and love it or you don't and kinda despise it. :classic: I understand. Thank you for understanding, if that logic was applied in the begining by everyone, mi included all these drag out word battles would have went away.
When I first realized the comic wasn't just some boring indie slice-of-post-teenage-band-life story, I checked it out. Got about 4/5 through the 1st volume and thought: "OK. This is an OK story. Humorous in spots. Very well-drawn. But it's just OK." EXACTLY!!!! how I Felt.
Then the first evil ex-BF busts through the ceiling and I'm totally hooked. Because I get it. It's really not something I can explain. Thats where we differ. After reading the entire first volume, I walked away feeling it was still...just ok.
(Interestingly, my younger brother, currently a language student in mainland China, can't wait for the film. He's never read a page of the comic. But he gets it too.) How many movies have we all been excited for by the preview?? whats so interesting about that? Thats what previews are supposed to do. It doesnt mean that the movie will be great, hello Transformers 2 anyone? We will just have to wait and see. I will probably see the film because I'm willing to give it a chance in another art form, In fact I think it wil work better in film than in a comic form.
Anyway I only botherd to comment one final time because it was based on what Rurouni KJS had to say. This is a perfect example of how people who dont see eye to eye on something can still have a decent exchange, make points on both sides and keep it freindly. Kudos to Rurouni.
I leave you with one final quote:

...Scott Pilgrim, OBVIOUSLY. [rimshot] :p
"Getting" SP isn't so much an intellectual thing as it is a taste thing. Those who like it REALLY like it. Those who don't REALLY don't. Not much in between, it seems.
Slade, in my experience, today "emo" is almost an exclusively pejorative term. The quotes you pulled out really show this. (And no, I didn't notice they were quotes on my first reading. Better grammar would've helped, but you tend to forget about grammar a little bit when you get worked up like this. :) )

I'm Trying to re-read Vol. 1....re-read as in I didn't finish it because I couldn't...let's see...he's a 23 year old dating a 17 Year old. That already rubs me the wrong way because I see guys in High School ALL THE time who date younger girls because they're easily impressed with "Age" ANd "Experience" her going Ga-ga over Sex Bob-Omb is disturbing and I hope its elaborated further if not I'm going to go back to finishing off Tom Strong
Finished the First Volume Thoughts:
Scott is a Detestable Character. I'm not a super pious person but goddamn he's just a piece of ####. And not in a Dark Comedic way (Ala World's Greatest Dad)
The logic set up doesn't make any sense...they don't explain WHY He must fight Ramona's Exes.
Or at least attempt some explanation of the subspace bull####.
I've read worse comics surely but None this poorly strung together. I Mean Hell I've read Flaming Carrot comics and they make more sense and are far less frustrating than these.
I'll give Vol 2 a try if ...it...improves
AND I'm through Volume 2: well....It explained a bit more. The League of Evil Boyfriends. its still ridiculous as #### but Since i"m two Volumes In I might as well keep pluggin along.
Though I still Hate Scott...and Now Knives As well....with a Burning...Burning Passion
Speaking of which I actually now have a good quote from this series
"He's as hot as the flames of hell that you #####es are going to".
Volume 3: Well...I'm going to finish the series...its not "Good" But its addicting...like MSG.
I Did like the Girl who was not Envy Adams...she Reminded me a bit of Daria.

For some reason, the above post cracks me up. The slow march of conversion...
Eh Mind you its Tolerable and actually I'm beginning to hate the impending movie. Just because something is addictive DOES NOT mean its well written.
As far as "Emo" Goes....I Can see a bit of it in there. THe whole trend-whorish idea of conformity in the form of Knives, and the fact that despite being an utter ####### Scott is all to willing to please.
yeah its still better than Loeb but I'm not going to say its Better than Say..Hack/Slash, or Flaming Carrot Comics Or Tom Strong, or Ultimates Or..etc.etc.
Still color me indifferent, I had time to kill
Regardless of if you like it, at least you gave it a solid chance. I agree, there are things that will rub you wrong and there are other things that aren't explained but, at the same time, I feel with comics you need to suspend some logic and the need for hand holding. But, again, that's just my opinion. My issue with Slade was never his problem with Scott Pilgrim. You don't have to like it, but at the same time, don't just come in here to spout hate and start arguments. That isn't what this thread is for. It's about Scott Pilgrim as "HeroClix". I don't want to start this whole thing up. I know how Slade feels and I know what his intentions were. I'm sorry it came to what it did, but I hope Slade at least understands my side of it.
This thread still has diverged from what it should be about (the dials), so I am going to have to close it. I will give it another day or so to give Rurouni the time to take the code from his dials and place them in another thread.

But...don't you see! It's literally Scott Pilgrim vs. HCRealms! You CAN'T close it!
Troma: Yeah, Scott's a jerkface. Totally. That's one thing I like about the series. He knows it, the cast knows it, but he doesn't care enough to change and his friends like him just enough to tolerate his bovinefecalmatter and, in their own gentle ways, nudge him toward real growth.
But, gradually, he does start to care enough to want to change. And he does to begin to develop the capacity to change (which he clearly lacks in the beginning). And so SP the series becomes something that's not just a weird comic mashup of indie band/martial arts/video game homage.
Ok Well I'll probably end up following through on a postive note I will say this: MIchale Cerras better get his ####in #### in gear. This is not like any character he "NOrmallY" Plays you know. The "Oh Shucks I'm an awkward teenager, but I'm really a good guy...just you know I want to be cool, but in my own way I am "Cool".".
I have no problem suspending belief its plotholes that bother me. Holes in logic pfff like I said: Flaming Carrot Comics.
ON YOUR DIALS: Yes I'd say they're all fairly accurate except for Scott...which has already been covered and It Will be shown to me later....
Ruroni: Nice Trait for KNives...No quotes about Ramona being a fatass?
And I Like Wallace's Dial.
Well, I appreciate the input Troma and I am glad someone finally commented on Wallace haha. Anyways, due to the appropriate comment from Rurouni, I will leave the thread up for additional comments, easier look ups, etc. I can't wait for a Gideon Clix from Rurouni (who has shown himself as the SP Clix master haha).

1. So yup I suppose I did get something "Positive" out of reading what I've read: Another reason to detest Cerra...but who knows Nic Cage surprised me In Kick-###. So we'll see.
2.OH I meant on how ridiculous it is. I mean yes you suspend belief but there has to be some basic of logic you know? We can't have Scott, Cerberus, the Flaming Carrot and Megaton Man riding a Hippo Shapped Carrot-Ship into a Superman STory.
Oh and On Flaming Carrot, I Love it but : Making Bombs Out of Rich Fat Women's cellulite? But I suppose its all in good fun.

Repped for the truth. This is the dreams and desire thread, if comments aren't relevant to the dials then they shouldn't be posted.

Let me start by saying that I am a fan of the Scott Pilgrim series of books and would love to see some Heroclix based on them. The whole reason I got into Heroclix in the first place was because I am enamored by the notion of taking fictional comic characters from different companies and universes and creating a standardized system in which they can all participate in big comic-crossover type battles that are only limited by the player's imagination. Thor vs Wonder Woman, Spider-Man vs Judge Dredd, Batman vs Invincible, bring it on. I can't wait to see what other characters will be added to the Cilx roster; more Image heroes, Ninja Turtles, it all good to me.
I don't see why people would say no to the possibility of more possibilities.
"Scott Pilgrim, NOT IN MY CLIX!" I don't get it. Do some of these people think Scott Pilgrim is too cartoony to be included in a game where we play with little plastic people dressed up in spandex and bat ear and dogs that wear capes. Again, I don't get it. Marvel and DC both have plenty of cartoony, self-aware characters as well. Deadpool for example.
Anyway, about the dials. I like that Rurouni's dials mostly aren't over 100 pts. Maybe Gideaon Graves and the Scott/Ramona Duo. Most everyone else would run the gamut between 40 and 70 pts. Also, characters that you don't see fighting in the books (Wallace) probably shouldn't be clix either. I do like that the SPs are all over the place on these dials. It really emphasizes the quirkiness of the characters.
