Anyone else hate the new Thunderbolts comic?
Does anyone know if Marvel is planning anything with the
remaining or if they will just go back to being villains?

Hate? Naa.. ..I liked the old Beetle better myself though, and the armor which the female one(The Ringer's Widow) wore, was pretty cool looking.

Beyond that.. don't much care about the rest of them!

Ta!

Hate isn't a strong enough word.

I agree with you 100%. Now we have tyo put up with a whole new cast investigating an underground wrestling ring of super powered thugs. What the fudge! How can they successfully launch Spider Man and X-Men Ultimate, then put out wet, slimy, goopy poop like this!

MY biggest beef with the new story is that its not the
Thunderbolts. They could have given it any other name and
let the Thunderbolts end respectably.

There's been... what... One issue out?

While I agree that it's disrespectul to the creative team to kick them off the book in hopes of a sensationalist make-over, I *do* think you folks are jumping the gun a bit by not giving the series a chance. It might be good. It's not the Thunderbolts that you've been reading, but it might be good.

Heck, this whole complete Reboot thing worked for the X-men...

I think the X-Men reboot worked because we still had familiar
characters. Not a random new cast of characters.
I just wish that they would do something with the characters rather than leaving them out there till whenever the mood strikes.

Errr... I'm reffering to the New X-men reboot in the mid seventies, where we got rid of all the old X-men but Cyclops and brought in four new characters (Storm, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird and Colossus) one minor character from a toss-off Hulk storyline (Wolverine) and Banshee, who had a handful of appearances in X-men.

Six out of seven minor or brand new characters. The old concept of the X-men was totally destroyed, and replaced with a new team that was designed to sell in International markets.

And they turned out all right.

Hey look at X-Force, it relaunched with no cable, Domino, Warpath or anyone from it. It changed names (to X Statix) but it was X-Force for awhile and it was successful!

I agree wit Spooky, give another couple, then decide

I will wait and see what happens with this current storyline, but even if the story is good, if it doesn't involve any of the characters that have been in the book before, I still have a problem with it.

I had the same problem with the X-Force re-vamp. I absolutely love the idea, I love the story, the characters are great, it all works... but why did they call it X-Force? There was no reason too. They could have just as easily launched it as a new title - which they ended up doing anyway.

Thunderbolts is the same way. Even if the story is fantastic (and the jury is definitely still out on that) why didn't they just launch it as its own title if it has zero to do with what happened in the title before?

People like me who have titles pulled, and tend not to read Previews, had no idea that a change was taking place. I literally knew nothing about the change of direction. One minute I see the Thunderbolts looking to turn back into the Masters of Evil and I'm preparing for an interesting new story arc and the next I'm dealing with some losers from a straight to video Jean Claude Van Dam movie.

And I don't think the All New X-Men is a good analogy. That relaunch, kept the leader of the team in place - Jean Grey also stayed with the team. The basics of the story remained in place with Professor Xavier still running a training school for mutants - and the first storyline actually featured all of the original X-Men. Very different from the changes rendered on Thunderbolts and X-Force.

Just my .02

Remember when X-Men relaunched in the 70s? It still had the X-Men in it.

Remember when X-Force relaunched? It was still about X-Force, just in a different way.

Remember when Thunderbolts relaunched? Well, where the hell are they?

Exactly.

Only Jolt remain on counter earth. The rest of the Thunderbolts
are back on the primary Marvel world.

I had bought back issues of avengers up to 50 but they don't have any past that so i'm just gonna skip to the new one tommarrow and i was thinking about doing so for t-bolts but everytime i see em there was no one i knew on there cover and avengers had a different writer. Guess i'll just be restarting avengers.

X-men is plural. When you are referring to a singular X-man, the proper terminology is "An X-man, or One of the X-men."

Uh... The new Thunderbolts book is a new spin on the concept of villains becoming heroes, correct? The new take on X-factor had a completely different theme, and all New characters. I'm not seeing the difference.

Fair enough. It's a completely new book. And I'm sayin' that it should be given the same chance you'd give a completely new book, and not dismissed off hand because Marvel marketed it as Thunderbolts... Which it isn't. Sure, Thunderbolts creative team and fans were treated horribly by Marvel. But that doesn't mean that the new direction is inherently ####.

I don't disagree with you that like any new book, this new book calling itself the Thunderbolts should be given a look to see what it is.

I think it is simply wrong of Marvel to start this ENTIRELY NEW book in the Thunderbolts title at number 76.
Now the powers that be could prove me wrong by bringing this story into context and involving the Thunderbolts somehow. I would be pleasantly surprised by that and would be happy to admit I jumped the gun.

I felt the same way about X-Force. If you want to do a new book, do a new book. Don't use the same name and the same numbering from an old book. I could even have dealt with it if the called it X-Force and started the numbering from scratch as the All New, All Different X-Force. But to me, the continuing numbering implies a continuing story. It's an even bigger shame when they went ahead and started at #1 with a new name after less than a year anyway.

I feel the same about Thunderbolts. Someone who sight unseen picks up an entire run of the Tunderbolts goes "what the" when they get to this new story.

Even when they did this to X-Factor - going from the original 5 to the government sponsored team - there was a transitional issue that fully explained why the lineup was completely overhauled.

Whatever, Marvel did what they did. Hopefully this new book will be worth reading.
