Who do you think have the best, worst, or most annoying sculpts in the game?

My vote goes hands down to the Fantastic Four. Every one of their figs truly look fantastic.

I'm not sure of the worst, but Controller is downright ugly. It looks like there wasn't even an attempt to make him look cool.

And Cyclops is my most annoying, that little wave of hair drives me CRAZY!!

As far as best? Hmm.. off the top of my head, I really like the way Pyro came out..

Worst.. Well, I can't agree with you up there, though most of the Fant. Four look great, I think Mr. Fantasitic looks terrible..(Is he trying to hug himself? Heh..) ..so off the top of my head, he get's that vote.

..guess I could go look at some of the guys.. but those seem good enough.

Best Sculpts would go to Thing, Hulk, maybe Thanos.

I don't know who the worst is.

PS

Controller is dope! He looks like Mega-Man on Steroids :D

Contoller is supposed to look ugly. He is right on in that regard. The worst sculpts in my mind are Thor and she hulk. Their faces remind me of the old gumby cartoons, or am I dating myself. They sure took a lot of time and detail on the White Queen though, she looks awsome.

Best Sculpt:

Marvel- U Super Skrull/V Invisible Woman (tie)
DC- Gorilla Grodd

Worst Sculpt:

Marvel- Captain America
DC- Don't have one, think most of them are great. They really did a much better job on DC.

Now, we're talking sculps, not paint jobs, right?

Worst sculpt: Mr. Fantastic. Titania is a close second.

Best: probably Dr. Doom or Blastaar. Actually, many are very good. Black Cat, White Queen, Sue Richards all look tremendous. Ultron is top-shelf, too. Most every one of DC's Hypertime is exceptional (except Changeling), as are most of the paint jobs.

I have done major surgery to my r/e/v Mr. Fantastic. I shortened his neck to non-stretching length (because those other stretching assclowns Plastic Man and Elongated Man -- who are more inclined to play comic relief -- stretch their necks like goofballs. Reed is a dignified scientist and the most brilliant scientific mind on Marvel's earth, and shouldn't be stretching his neck as sculpted) and uncoiled his arm from around his torso. Wish I could fix his legs.

Paint jobs are rarely great, tho. I repainted my She-Hulks to represent her experience levels (rookie: Secret Wars outfit, experienced: FF outfit, veteran: John Buscema Avengers purple & white) and lightened her skin tones. The sculpt was fine and now that the paint is proper, she looks really good.

Best sculpt, I gotta go with Dr. Doomnic. Grodd's about the best that's out there.

Worst. Hm, Mr. Fantastic's pose is pretty lame, but have you looked at the proportions on Cyclops? His fists are bigger than his head for cryin' out loud. Mr. Hyde's kind of ugly too, but liek Controller he's supposed to be, and to be fair, it's usually a case of a poor paint job in his case rather than the scuplt itself. BUT...

Unless the photo lies, I think we'll have a new winner for most dreadful sculpt when Explosion comes out with Psylocke.

Best Sculpt: U Batman
Honorable Mention: Invisible Woman for the very cool idea of the REV progression.

Worst Sculpt: Probably Mr. Hyde or U Juggernaut
Honorable Mention: The picture of Psylocke. Ech.

DC-Best- Swamp Thing with a Hon. mention for Hawkman (love those wings)
DC-Worst- Superman, although I agree all looked good.

Marvel-Best- Sandman with hon. mention for Invisible Woman (nice butt)
Marvel-Worst- Several mentioned above are bad, but Toad looks horrible. Psylocke looks good compared to Toad, and that's BAD.

Well, was thinking about Toad a little myself.. see, I actually like the sculpt, except for the head. ..his silly little costume is one I've always loved for years gone by! :D So I find that he's pretty accurate, but in the end.. can understand why some might think him to be a terrible sculpt..heheh.

I really like Mister Fantastic's sculpt. Let's face it, folks, his power is... well, kind of goofy. This sculpt demonstrates exactly what his powers are, so that even non-comics readers can figure out who this guy is and what he does. A dignified scientist/Reed wouldn't acomplish this.

And, heck, I think he looks a little bit intimidating even. He's just the right height to look like he's gonna pop a bad guy in the noggin with his tremendous fist!

Edit: Although my overall favorite sculpt is probably Black Panther. 'Chally (As we, his close personal friends call him) doesn't have an action pose, but he seems to exude quiet dignity. Which is pretty amazing for a three inch high piece mass produced piece of plastic.

Worst: I really hate the AIM agents and Medics. Not only are they clunky looking, but I can't tell the two of them apart.

Superman's sculpt isn't bad. His PAINT job stinks, but I've found that if you strip him and redo him properly, he looks downright Chris Reeve-ish.

Mr. Fantastic's sculpt isn't bad. His pose is weird, though. What the heck is he supposed to be doing?

I don't like Cyclops' pose at all. Never have.

Captain America looks great, but he's NOT in scale with everyone else, for some reason -- he appears to be about a foot and a half taller than most other figures...

But they're getting better!

Best sculpt Marvel:

Tough choice ...

da Hulk!
(White Queen, Magento, Black Panther, Mr. Fixit all runner ups)

Best DC:

Gorilla Grodd!

Worst Marvel:

Yellowjacket for pose, Thor for paint job on face .. ugh!

Worst DC:

none of them are horrible ... but the few Hawks I've gotten had dreadful paint jobs

Btw ... Mr. Fantastic at least has interesting pose ...

I'm gonna do this by expansion in reverse (for reason that will be shown later).

CT Best: While I would love to give it to the ruler of Latveria, the pose was naturally going to be good anyway (Doom would have a few choice words with the sculptor who screwed him up, wouldn't you say?) So I think I'll have to go with Sue Storm for finally using an idea that I'm sure has been around since HT.
CT Worst: Far harder to pick as it takes a mix of bad paint job and pose in order for it to be the worst (Psylocke, I'm looking in your direction.) This is why Reed simply can't take it. While his pose is rather...odd looking, the fact that Reed doesn't have the sides of his face white instead of his hair leaves him out. No the worst in CT has to go to Thor. Simply looking at it from far away (like on a map for example) The thunder god is just fine, but looking at him right now as I type this I spot at least...5 spots where the paint is simply despecable on levels only known by Daffy himself. Odin would not aprove.

HT Best: Oh dear god, where do I start? I have to pick one ? I'm looking right now at Aquaman, Robin, Bane, Doomsday, hell even Booster looks good. But I think I might have to end splitting this one between Aquaman and Hawkman. Both, when put up next to the other expansion, don't seem to even belong to the same game the quality is so different. But if I had to truly pick one, I'd give it to Hawkman simply since they even got the details looking decent on it.
HT Worst:uhhhhhh.... Can't I just go with DC's scapegoat, Black Manta, and be done with it? Nah... Guess I'll go with Superman then. He's not bad per se, on the level of Marvel's, but considering he's DC's flagship, he should have at least gotten the same treatment that Booster Gold got.

IC Best: I'm tempted to say Ultron, but it's not like there was much to screw up in the first place, just make sure that you got the red in his eyes. (although I do have a Rogue who has a pupil on her cheek...) No I'll go with Magneto instead. Eric's dial may not reflect him as the most powerful mutant on earth, but that sculpt sure as hell does
IC Worst: Now here's where that whole "Sculpt + Paint" thing comes in to play. While most of us have our "####py paint job" stories, it's never really wide-spread, usually just anavoidable consequence to having these things mass-produced. But there is one figure who's sculpt reeks of suckiness so bad that everyone blocked it out of their heads and totally forgot about him...

Blade.
The only figure I know where it seems that the sculptors completely forgot what game they were making these for. My blade I'm looking at right now is lucky enough to be ina cold room and have a loose dial, so it clixs as easy as my Hulk or Doomsday, but the others in my collection, and I'm assuming yours as well, Have been popped off their bases long ago. The only Clix that I really regret owning.

Whew. Sorry. Felt I had to get that off my chest. ;)

BTW, in regards of Captain America, and him towering over everyone, it all depends on who you compare him to.

For example he's taller than: Pyro, Booster Gold, Puppet Master, and literally dwarfs Doc Ock and Robin.
But he's essentially the same height as: Ultron, Bane, Doom himself, Aquaman and for some reason, Huntress.

So it seems that the reason why Cap dwarfs those people, is because he's supposed to. Cap
is at least 6' if not more, so it makes sense for Pyro and Puppet Master to be midgets compared to the epitomy of America, a Dictator, a mad metal monster, and essentially a professional wrestler.

Ok now I'm done ;)

PantherPriest

Huntress is very tall, she seems to dwarf everybody, I mean this is one leggy girl... not that that's a bad thing.

Black Panther was sculpted very nicely(god, will he ever shut up about panther?) Spiderman is also very good, I've yet to see a bad job of him, even the 6-armed one looks ok.

Nightcrawler is also sculpted very well, I'll give him the best out of clobbering time. Nick Fury sucks, in every way shape or form, I had such high hopes for him, but his pose and sculpt are awful.

Nightwing wins the dc set, either him or unique joker.

I'll give ic to unique spiderman, and the worst too wasp, though her body was done nicely her face looks like she has been hit with a truck. Blade sucks too, why did they even try to do the fangs, and we all hate the pose, yknow the one that blade has never made ever.

I find it weird that everyone's dogging on Mr. Fantastic. He is one of my favorite sculpts.

Best sculpt: The Thing for bulging crusty muscles offset by contrasting super undies.
Best paint job: Robin, he's just a colorful guy.
Most annoying sculpt: Unique Juggernaut because his head is connected to his shoulder, now where is he gonna hold his cel phone while he's busy kicking arse?
Worst paint job: I have a scarlet witch with lips painted onto her right cheek. This is from Scarlet Witch #103 where she enters a parallel dimension in which she is effected with down syndrome, jk

Wylde Knight

Worst

Marvel: Elektra uniqe IC. Come on you use the same fig use the
same horid paint job just change the color

DC: There are just so many that you can see the breaks between body parts but I won't blame Bizzaro he's not square enough.

save the Best for last

Marvel:Spidey's unite except the CT unique

DC: thre are alot best for dc but I'll have to pick Swamp Thing

I personally like Dr. Strange. I thought they did a very nice job.

As for the worst, hands down without a doubt the LE Antman and Yellowjacket.
