So ok, you have two perplexers, and someone with RCE. the person with RCE has a base damage of 2. you perplex his BASE damage up to 4 and with RCE he can then do 6 clicks in one hit? I know you can't use enhancement with RCE, but you are not really changing a power, you are changing a BASE number. this will work, Right?

Nope. You can't change the printed value and use RCE. You can, however, use Shield to "add a click of damage." Thus, Fireboy's first click and a Shield mo' can do 6.

but why not? it's not stated that weay anywhere is it? and you can up damage using perples and then hit someone using an item and superstrength can't you?

A section from the FAQ reguarding RCE (also applies for CCE)

If a character has Ranged Combat Expert and wants to use it to attack he can't have his Combat Values altered from the printed values in any way by himself or a friendly figure (via Perplex, Enhancement, or other Power.) in that turn. A friendly figure may use Support on the figure with Ranged Combat Expert because the printed values are not being altered.

A good rule of thumb is that the ONLY thing that affects RCE are team abilities and Probability control.
