I really enjoy playing heroclix and think its a pretty cool game and when i play for fun i have a lot of fun, but when i go to play in tournaments I always run into people who make the game disapointing. they pick two flyers who have a large range and high fire power. In one or two rounds they usually have the game unbalanced in thier favor with thier opponent having almost no chance to succede from the start. I would like to see a simple weight factor added as a handicap to flyers who taxi other figures. I think the challange and game play value would increase
quite a bit.
Heres how I would do this.
1. divide the figure getting the lifts point cost by 10. round down
2. subtract that number from the flying figures range.
3. the new number is the new range the flyer can move carrying his load
example: figure cost is 42 42/10 =4.2 round down 4
flyers range is 8 sutract 4 from flyers range
8-4 =4 new range of flyer
this would be the equivalent of walking a mile in twenty minutes or picking up your child and walking that same mile in an hour or more due to the additional load.
there are a lot of characters that shouldn't be able to carry other characters like the wasp carrying the hulk
and there are a lot of characters that are way to powerful to be carried full ranges.
even if you don't use my suggestion I sure hope something similar and fair is done to keep the game a little more balanced than a lot of players are making it sure I could do what the others do but there are so many characters I really enjoy using so much more.

Hmmm, I think the game is pretty balanced as is. Your formula, no insult intended, iss just useless number crunching which will drag out the game and make it less fun to play as we hunch over calculators to figure out who can carry who and how far. if you are running into players who take the fun out of the game, play someone else.

So taxiing Vet Hobgoblin (62 pts) will reduce your range by 6, yet taxiing Ned Leeds (73 pts) will reduce your range by 7?

What about those figures who cost more than 120 pts? They can't be taxied at all with your suggestion.

one thing i forgot to add was if the flyers range would not allow him to carry the figure he could move the figure to an adjacent unoccupied square.
i dont think dividing by ten to be to difficult and subtracting is no harder than adding.
large point value figures should be to heavy or powerful for most flyers to carry.
why should you be able to carry doom or iron man if you dont have super strength.
or firelord or the human torch if you dont have toughness.
the designers gave the figures a speed based on thier strength and stamina and they should have limits like non flyers have
the scarlet witch or bullseye cant carry light or heavy objects without super strength and many of the characters are heavier than the objects that are used in the game.
do you honestly think its fair that the wasp can pick up the hulk but not a mailbox. at least my idea gives a perspective and solution to the game without having to redesign all the figures and uses the strategy that the designers incorporated into the figures. It also forces players to build better armies. anyone can play doom and firelord or superskrull and firelord
who wants to play a game in which a super skrull carries firelord or viceversa and takes 4-5 clicks on any figure. this kind of damage can instantly take out your outwit, healing or probability without you ever getting a chance to play

i like that idea cap i'll try it out tonight, it makes sense to me, if vulture can carry hulk then surley red skull should be able to lift the crate, we play with a simalar house rule sometimes, but not with the mathmatic formula you suggested

another thought to make this formula even more playable and fairer. if a flyer has super strength he would ignore the formula and maintain his full speed value for carrying other figs
