Limits on Unique

I read somewhere that you can't have more than one Unique on your team in a tourney. My friend and I decided to test this theory. The 300 pt line up:

U. Spiral
U. Cyclops
U. Wasp
U. Titania
U. Elektra
R. Vulture
R. Shield Medic

My opponent:
R. Superman
V. Bane
R. Invisible Girl
R. Yellow Wasp

Basicly my opponent kept his 4 players together, so that they could share the 18 defense value of the invisible girl. My U. Cyclops stayed at a distance hitting sups whenever possible. R. Vulture taxied U. Titania to the doorstep of R. Invisible girl.

U. Wasp carried Elektra next to V. Bane, who beat her silly and then turned on Wasp, who was the next to go. After a couple of tries, Titania finally hit the Invisble Girl and his support was finished. Spiral with Flurry, hit Bane For a total of 11 clicks (with her blades). From that point on, Sups couldn't pass Titania's Invulnerablity (he could, but not till the last couple of clicks on his dial), but Spiral jumped in and Bladed him for a total of 6 more clicks with her flurry.

In my opinion, I can see why there is a limit on Uniques in a tourney. They're cheap and can hit really hard. They were however fun to see in action, and my opponent took the walk of shame.


What are your reactions to this match?

ummm i think there are only limits on dupe uniques and uniques put together with their r/e/v versions... you can have as many DIFFERENT uniques on a team as you want as long as there isn't a regular character with the same name on your team

Your not allowed to field multiples of the same Unique, so no putting 2 Visions and 3 Wolverines. But you can put 1 Vision, 1 Wolverine, 1 Thanos etc...

sounds like a cool match. You're a bit off on the unique limit. The limit is having only one of each kind. ie. you couldn't field two Unique Spirals. Your team is fine and you could play that one in a tournament. :)

The only limit is that you can't have 2 uniques*of the same name*. So you can't have the black Spiderman and the CT Spiderman, or 2 black Spiderman. However, you can have Spiral, and others on the same team.

I guess I read the rules wrong. Overall, I like this team and will make an apperance again someday.

Yeah, I'm kinda curious as to where this is being discussed, heh.

One of the guys that came into the Tournies I run came in talking about this, and pretty much it came down to me having to tell him. "No." Heh.. I don't like to have to do it, but it's needed at times I guess.

I've always found the rules on building a team rather straight forward, even when it came to Uniques/LEs..
