View Full Version : What Is The Best Marvel Movie That Has Come Out
SPIDERMAN
XMEN
DAREDEVIL
OR
THE PUNISHER( IN MY OPINION THE WORST AH)
I THINK BY FAR
DAREDEVIL

Of the three I've seen I'd rate them this way.....
1. X-men
2. Daredevil
3. Spider-Man

1) Spiderman
2) Daredevil
3) Xmen
4) Blade I and II
5) Punisher
6) Captain America
7) Fantastic Four
1.) X-Men
2.) Spiderman
3.) Daredevil
4.) Punisher (not sure I've seen it, but it has to be better than...)
5.) Captain America
Who knew that 'chain mail' could look suspiciously like latex?
And, if I remember correctly, Dolph Lundgren played both the Cap and Punisher. And He-Man, but that's another story... :)

Ooo, Manchine out-geeks me! :)
Forgot that Blade was a Marvel character. After pulling 84730843703 of him...

I really want to say X-men #1, but i just can't. Spder-Man was just an overall better movie. Maybe just because they had less characters to deal with.
That said, here is my list
1. Spider-Man
2. X-men
3. Blade
(Punisher, Cap. America and FF all tie for the worst movie IMHO)
I haven't seen DD yet (just not that interested in the character) so I can't rate it.

For me it is
1. X-Men and soon to be X-Men 2
2. Blade I and II
3. Daredevil
4. Spider-Man
5. Punisher
6. Captain America
and Dolph Lundren never played Captain America, just the Punisher, and He-Man
YA I FORGOT HIM HE WAS WORSE THEN PUNISHER

1. Spider-Man
2. X-men
3. Blade I
4. Daredevil
5. Blade II
I haven't seen all those other early ones like Punisher and Captain America, but from what I've hard about them I don't think I'll make the effort to find them.
1 - Spider-Man
2 - X-Men
3 - Daredevil
4 - Blade and Blade 2
I think Spider-Man staied the truest to the comic book and was long enough to give every character the development they needed. That being said I think X2 will soon become the best comic book movie.
As for the older films like PUnisher and Cap. they are bad but they are still worth the effort to search them out, they are so bad they are good.

9 X-Men
10 Spider-Man

Wow, I didn't know there was a Cap. America 2 or a SHIELD movie.
I think LT takes the title of 'Super Geek' away from Manchine.....

Just seen DD again today, and gotta place that as my favorite. Spiderman took a major nose dive after an incredible first half. Xmen had alot going on in it but the second one looks solid.
I wont even comment on the steaming cow pies that were Captain America and Fantastic Four.

I'd say
Blade (just thought the baddie was TOO cool)
Spiderman
X-men
Daredevil
Blade II

I'll reserve my ratings until I get a chance to see Daredevil. But aren't you all forgetting 'Howard the Duck'?

I don't know.
Daredevil was OK, but that's about it.
Daredevil was okay. It's not as good as Frank Miller's stories.
As for Spider-Man, it had an awesome first half. Although the second half, with awkward fights, brought the movie's overall quality down.
X-Men was good, but alas it was too short. Hopefully the sequel will rock!
Punisher was gay (heavily influenced by 80s violence, with wanna-be Japanese action).
I saw the low-budget Captain America movie, and it was even worse (C'mon, an italian Red Skull who doesn't even look like a Red Skull totally suck).
S.H.I.E.L.D. and 'Exaclibur' (Actaully it was the X-team with Banshee and Emma Frost... Forgot the name of the actualy title of the movie) were TV movies, so they don't count. Usually T.V. movies are cheesy to begin with, so I'll overlook them.
Blade was a huge suprise, as the movie was far more edgier than the comics.
Of those movies I've seen, I love Spider-Man the most. The first half was near flawless (with the exception of organiz webbing), that it beats out the competition. I actaully felt sad when Uncle Ben died.
If I really want to be anal, Men In Black is by far the best Marvel Comics movie ever! (Although it was created by Malibu Comics) It was original, funny, and actaully entertaining for a comic book movie. In fact I had so much fun with the first movie, I didn't even realize it was a Marvel Comic movie.

Daredevil was barely acceptable. Maybe a 5/10.
Best Marvel Comics movies:
1. X-Men (9/10)
2. The original TV pilot for The Incredible Hulk (9/10)
3. Spider-Man (8/10)
4. Blade II (7/10)
5. Blade (6/10)
6. Howard the Duck (6/10)
Howard the Duck was better than most people give it credit for. The but where Jefrey Jones is in the diner, possessed, and says "she took my eggs" is beautifully-delivered and worth the price of admission alone.
The unreleased Fantastic Four movie was better than anything else Marvel has released, including Dardevil. And that's not saying much.
Daredevil's only saving graces were Kingpin and -- especially -- Bullseye.

I can't belive somone actually liked DareDevil. I was psyched to see it, but I felt it was a total let down. The fight scenes were too short and the acting was at best mediocre. The best part of the film was Colin Farrel as Bullseye--splendid!!.
This is my list
1.Blade 2
2. Spider-man
3.x-men (would've been #2, but the infamous toad/storm line lowered it to 3.)
4.Blade
5.Daredevil

There's two things to consider with Marvel media: the movies and the television shows. As far as television goes, it was all horrible.
The two Cap tv movies, with his motorcycle helmet and clear plexiglass shield that snapped onto the front of his motorcycle, were atrocities. As a kid, I thought they were lame. The Doctor Strange pilot was not great, either, but it tried, it really did (Full Moon's pirate version with Jeffrey Combs was a lot better). The Spider-Man television show was a letdown for me. No villains! Only bad guys like I saw on Barnaby Jones. Guys in suits. Bleagh. To make matters worse, Spidey was just...off. He shot nylon cord out of a big, honking, blocky web shooter. And Nick Fury, agent of SHIELD, was a joke. No, the best of the bunch had to be The Incredible Hulk...and that ain't saying much. With no super villains either, it was a by the numbers formulaic television series with some decent scripts, a moderate special effects budget, and not much else. You were guaranteed two Hulkouts per show. One at the thirty minute mark to make trouble for David Whatshisnamethisweek, and one at the fifty minute mark to help wrap the dangling plot threads up.
At least with this show, it was just jacking with one character. The two TV movies just about killed me. Thor as a muscle beach reject? Rex Reed is Daredevil? In Black? With a blindfold? The less said about these, the better. They don't help; they only hurt.
Ironically, the movies fared no better. I think it's great that some folks really liked Howard the Duck, but trust me on this, it was an embarrassment to the creator and the diehard fans. Nothing edgy about it. Just a good, clean, wholesome duck. I hated it. Punisher? Could've been anyone. Nothing Punishable about it. A waste of Louis Gossett Jr. Captain America? Rubber ears, an Italian Red Skull, cornball effects...the best thing to say about it was that at least the shield wasn't see-through. I'm still trying to work out some sort of drinking game for the movie.
Now, everyone dogs the FF, but it's never really been released. There's a lot of bootlegs floating about. And after watching it, you know WHY it never came out. Not even a fog of alcohol makes the movie watchable. The entire special effects budget went to the Thing Suit. And it's a killer hunk of latex...not that it's a good thing.
I don't really like to count Blade as a Marvel movie. Sure, it's a Marvel character, but it's a cheat. Blade hunts vampires. That's something that any moviegoing audience understands. The novelty for most folks was that "Oh, HE'S a vampire, too!" Nothing new for comics fans. And it was a fun movie. A mindless romp with lots of cool fights and toys.
We didn't really get a Marvel Comics movie until the X-Men. Wolverine fighting in Canada made me realize that someone figured out how to do it. He had to change a lot of stuff to make it work, but it worked like a charm.
For me, though, the best was Spider-Man. It was the purest comic book movie, by far. The least amount of things had to be changed. The least amount of story had to be compromised. Nothing cosmetic was removed.
Not that Daredevil wasn't good. I DID lowball it going in, so I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't suck. For my druthers, Spider-Man did it for me...but that's without having seen X-Men II or The Hulk...

Xmen 2 and HULK will probable out do Daredevil in my view. The first Xmen was good but it was the ball to start things rolling. The second one should be so much better.
Spiderman Right now holds first in a firm vice grip. Nothing even close to it.

MarkFinn I pass the torch of Super Geek to you. I forgot about DD and Dr. Strange. I guess I wanted to forget them after the carp that they were made from.
Run, Run as fast as you can. But I fear someone else will come with something else obscure. But it might take a while.

Jeez, I was reading through this thread thinking everyone forgot that one!:D
I don't remember if anyone mentioned "Daredevil" (in a black - possibly pinstriped costume) was also a guest star of The Hulk TV series along with that awful "Thor"
Oh, and anyone remember the TV Spider-man with his "Rope" webs??

I will take your torch and spin it like Jackie Chan in Drunken Master II. My kung fu is superior...And that's NOTHING to be proud of.
See, I didn't even get into the DC movies and television shows. That's a whole 'nuther horrible kettle of fish.

Then tell Ramplate to go back and reread my post. He clearly missed it the first time through.
Are you SURE you don't want to hear about Rick Springfield as The Human Target?
1. Spiderman
2. Daredevil
3. X-men...
I haven't seen either of the Blade movies, but I still think Blade is cool.
(and I don't care whether or not there's a hyphon in "Spiderman")
