fyi I am scared crapless at my matchup next weekend. Thank God AP is out. Good pick ups of Arian, Javid, and Ryan Mathews. If this were a keeper league you would have it locked for the next few years/.

This is the first week where I broke 100 points. I did not think I picked a bad team but MJD needs to post more than 5 points. He sucks big time.

Glad I picked up Orton. Favre was still old this week. Managed to keep my game close at least.

Yes. For all the good it shall do you. HAHAHA!

Finally, going to win both leagues for a change. Sheesh, I was wondering what the heck was going on.

And Ahmad Bradshaw....can't forget him...

That being said. I am looking for a solid #2 receiver if anyone is looking to upgrade their run game with one of my 5 starting backs...

You know I can still beat Mike tonight if Donald Driver catches 16 touchdowns.

What??? It could happen!

My team has been pretty carp to date. This week was slightly better, but Matthews needs more sacks and Rodgers needs more TDs.

Started off 2-0 in my $ league. Am now 2-2. Hoping for a better turnout this week. I messed up bad last week though, just trying to overthink the room.

3-1 in the realms league, doing better than I thought I would.

In my league with my buddies doing awful hahahah 1-3, but just got my first win after starting 0-3 so hoping for better. Doesn't help when Flacco is my starter and is getting 0-6 points a week.

Yeah, that's where I'm at. And I'm not optimistic about this week. We'll see what happens though. Chris Johnson, I am VERY disappointed in you (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88eHU6EE0y0).

Iceman425

That's why I took AP with the one #1 pick I had. I thought C-Jax was gonna have some issues.

I'm 4-0 in league one. The traditional draft league.

The Auction league? 1-3. Ouch.

Money leagues I am 3-1 and 2-2. In the 2-2 league I won going into last Sunday night...then Cutler happened...and I lost. I lost because my QB scored Negative points and pulled me back behind my opponent. Some bad breaks in that league.

10/08/2010, 16:20
I have Donny McNabb riding the bench in league 2 if anyone has need of a QB and a starting running back for trade.

10/09/2010, 01:07
I'm not doing great in league 2, at all. Actually, pretty terrible. In another league, with school friends, I ripped off a few guys on trades and now I'm dominating. I have over 150 more total points than the next guy.

I agree on AP. I had a bad feeling about Chris Johnson. But 3.8 YPC? Ouch.

I'm also glad I was right on Arian Foster and drafted him in every draft league. (All 2 of them)

The last two weeks my team has gotten so far behind to start with that I haven't even had a chance after the early games. Not much you can do I guess but it's pretty tough to look at the score at like 3 and be down by 50 points already when you have more guys playing than the other team.

Jarimy123
10/25/2010, 10:54
Who had Kenny Britt on their bench? I did! But that's in this league which doesn't matter, plus it looks like I'm probably going to win.

I had him starting in my money league. Gotta love a week where Chris Johnson goes for 6 points and I still end up scoring 121.

In my other league with a DP I had DeAngelo Hall hahahaha 32 points as my DP. That has to be a record or close to it.

Ouch malakim you had a shot to win it was 102-81, and now romo is out for 8-10 weeks with that broken collar bone. When I saw that I checked to see who had Romo starting in my leagues. Nobody else in my other leagues had him starting. That sucks especially since you had a shot having him and Miles Austin. You might have shot is Austin blows up with Kitna, but that's brutal.

Yep that's me. I had a bad feeling when I checked the score at like 1:30 and you had 50 points already. I just didn't have anything for you this week.

Brutal weekend for my teams in all my leagues. Not going to win a game. In one league I have Tony Romo and sat Darren McFadden... I was patching that team together as it was and QB had been my one solid position so it should be interesting going forward... already put in a claim for Matthew Stafford.

Battle for 1st place in the division... I'm 4-3, Iceman is 5-2.

AND WE FRIKKIN TIE!

Just when I was feeling good about basically my "bye week" team and Scott subbing in for a busted Romo..... we tie. Because my Seahawks and Marshawn can't rush for 10 f-ing yards. Seriously.

But I'm glad da-Craig-O dragged me in. I've never played fant football before but there definitely is something to it!

Dude. I couldn't risk putting Gates in because of his injury and I was flying during the late games so I started Zach Miller who got hurt and only dropped 1 point.

Meanwhile Gates is on my bench with 25. 25!!!

Just the way it goes. The one bad week will be when you need it the most. I have seen it happen way too much. Heck I succumbed to losing to someone who probably stopped paying attention after week 2. That was a horrible loss.

Well fantasy football is as much about who you play against and when you play as it is who is on your team. In almost every league I'm in, the team with the least points against is in 1st or 2nd place... and the team with the most points against is near last place and that's something you have no control over. My goal every year is to make the playoffs and then hope to make a run then but even that's tough because you might end up with your best player sitting out the last few weeks or not playing much if his team has sown up a playoff spot. Obviously who you start on your team matters but the more I play fantasy football the more I think there's a lot more luck involved than I first thought.

See. That's part of the nuances, right? Because I've been riding the whole "probable" and "questionable" train all season long. And I've also gotten off the train at the right time (both Dallas Clark and Austin Collie).

But yeah...25 on the bench? That sucks. Think that happened with one of my players the other week...don't remember which...think it was Henne instead of my starter Ryan who did crappy).

Just didn't think a tie would EVER happen.

It's amazing what you look for when things go a bit askewed. You find "diamonds in the rough". And believe you me, that's been my bread and butter so far. Although I did learn something from you this week that I'll be applying to my team. Let's see if it pans out!

Has anyone else noticed the defense scores don't update right? I'm missing two fumbles and a defensive TD right now from GB. I'm hoping it will update overnight but it just seems weird that sometimes it updates fumbles, ints, or TDs and sometimes it doesn't. It looks like it did update this morning.

Also it's kind of lame that a kicker gets -1 for ANY field goal miss. No way a kicker missing a 54 yard FG should cause you to lose points.

Also does anyone else understand the Individual Defensive Player scoring? It looks like solo tackles are the only tackles that count and I'm not sure if sacks count more or less or at all.

Yea I've noticed that it's such a crapshoot. Yea it helps to pay some good attention the matchups, injuries, etc. but most of the time it's really close to pure luck. I guess that makes it fun because nobody really has an advantage. I'm sure people who win want to claim they are brilliant, but in reality it's a lot to do with luck.

Hahaha me either! There's just this one guy in my league with all my buddies who always talks about how he knows all the secrets and will own everyone, yet he's like 5-4 so it's not like he hasn't lost. And my other buddy is like 7-2 and he just doesn't even pay much attention to any of it. Like hasn't changed many players except the bye weeks.

I only care about my money league and last week I lost by 3 points - and somehow my defense didn't get saved which scored me 6 points so I lost by 3! So I'm a huge idiot hahahah

I went into Sunday night's game trailing 144.6 to 109.03 in my Yahoo league. I had Green Bay's defense and Brandon Jackson while he had Mason Crosby, Miles Austin and Chad Ochocinco left to play. What happens? Jackson scores twice, GB's defense scores twice (combined 62 points) and his three remaining players combine to score 15 points total. I win by 11. Of course on that same team I lost Romo, replaced him with Stafford and now it looks like Stafford is going to be out again... so I've picked up Vince Young. To top it all off I have 6 players on a bye this week against the top team in the league so to even field a full team I'm going to have to drop like 4 players and start Brandon Jacobs and Marshawn Lynch as my RBs. I feel like I'm holding this team together with gum and duct tape.

I'm really glad I decided to play in this league. It's taught me a ton about what to do/not to do in fantasy.

Like go on gut instinct, and actually pay attention to your opponent's players. I told myself a hundred times to play Vick over Peyton because my opponent had Deshaun Jackson and I'd just cancel out those points and hope for the best from there. Nah I said, Peyton will have a game again. *Facepalm*

If Vick stays healthly will he not be the concensus #1 pick in fantasy next year? I know people always say to take RB's and worry about QB later, but he's like the perfect mix of QB/RB if he stays healthy. Him on that team, with all that young talent on offense, is the perfect combination. Freaking dog killer. I hate FF. Yet I love it. GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he keeps this up I'm not sure how he couldn't be. I could see it being a risk just because he can get hurt easy, but he's put up ridiculous numbers almost every game he's played in, and has put up better numbers in every game he's played in than almost every QB and RB.

I haven't checked, but I'd bet he's put up higher fantasy numbers than most QB's and RB's in the league and has missed 3 games with injury, and didn't even start at the beginning of the year.

Now I say all this and he will go out next week, rush for a first down, and get his leg snapped in half, but still right now if there you re-draft, he's #1.

Now I say all this and he will go out next week, rush for a first down, and get his leg snapped in half, but still right now if there you re-draft, he's #1.

So the year after Tom Brady's record setting season, I got 3rd pick in one of the leagues I was in. First pick was Adrian Peterson, second was LT, and I took Brady at #3. And yeah, first game he went down and out for the season.

Ouch! Yea same thing happened to my buddy. I didn't play back then, first year this year.

I think I said before fantasy football, to me at least, feels like it's way more luck than anything. Small portion of it is the draft, but for the most part it's hard for you to get really screwed unless you just have no clue.

Trading/waiver has a small portion of input on how you do, but again for the most part that still is luck. I picked up Fred Jackson because I was thin and figured he could hold a spot for me for a week, he ends up scoring 24 after scoring nothing the entire year.

So to me, if most of it is pure luck, I might as well draft that guy that's going to give me the most return on my luck. Vick would probably be a big risk, but man that return seems huge.

Brady was pretty much a sure lock that year, he never gets hurt. So you took the smartest pick at that spot for sure - boom the luck goes south first game. I understand it's probably smart to take the safest pick, but to me next year I'm taking some risks I think. Because most of the time that sure-fire pick/start ends up not working at all hahaha.

Ain't that the truth. I picked up Moss in a few leagues because I thought he would be a pretty good WR for me. Yeah, we all see how that's turned out.

Yea then Kenny Britt makes me look like a fantasy prodigy for 4 weeks, next thing you know he's out for pretty much the rest of the year hahahahaha.

One thing I'm sort of sad about is there has been pretty much zero trades in any of my leagues. I've for sure not been involved in any. I thought there might be some wheeling and dealing, but nope. Maybe that is more for bigger leagues. I'm in an 8 person "newbie" league and then two 10 person leagues.

Does trading happen more in 12-14 person?

The only trade offer I got was a bit ridiculous.

I offered a bench receiver for a defense that was solid...

The offer I got?

I'd give up Roddy White for the Tennessee D/ST.

I was going to start offering ridiculous trades just to see what happens. But never got around to it hahahaha.

The more I think about it Vick probably shouldn't be a #1 pick in fantasy. Yea last night was great, but running QB = injury sooner rather than later. But man that dude is crazy to watch. The story of that dude couldn't have been imagined. I dunno, guess I'm giving him benefit of the doubt, but I hope he stays on the straight and narrow. I know what it's like to come back from the bottom, hope he learned from his past mistakes.

But I'm sure I'll start him this week and it will come out he did something stupid to mess it all up again.

Trades vary greatly by leagues. Most of the ones I've been in haven't had many trades. It seems like for most people a "fair" trade means "I get the better end of the deal". And you always see the "I'll offer 3 mediocre players for the #1 player in the league. You get 3 good players, so it's a great deal." Plus in some leagues you have the veto system and I've played in leagues where an owner will veto EVERY trade with the justification of "I don't want any opposing team to get better".

Iceman425
11/16/2010, 20:06
I've actually traded quite a few times in FF.

It's usually because of huge depth at one position and a lack of depth at another.

I currently have Roddy White, Brandon Lloyd, Marques Colston, Steve Johnson, and Dwayne Bowe in my money league.

My RB situation is terrible though. I have Ray Rice, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Beanie Wells, and Tim Hightower.

So. I'm offering a top 5 receiver for a RB2 in that league. Probably a Brandon Lloyd for LeSean McCoy type of trade...I might even get Ahmad Bradshaw in that trade.

zyxba
11/17/2010, 00:04
It depends on a few things I've found, that determine if a league trades much. Activity being the main part. The more active a league is, (everyone playing, communicating, trash talking...) the more likely you are to trade.

Thus Fantasy Baseball leagues are filled with many more trades than FF, in my experience. More positions, and games every day change fantasy a lot. Same thing with waivers. A lot more releasing valuable players with them getting picked up quickly in a situation where you have stuff to do every day.

So I'm playing the #1 guy in my money league this week. I need every ####ing point I can get. Dan Carpenter gets me 0 and the dude I'm playing against magically has the Bears D and gets 18. So I'm ####ed before Sunday? Really? So freaking stupid.

At least in our league I have whoever that stupid bears RB is and the bears D starting so I'm already up 32 or something stupid in this league.

GAH!!!!!!! I can't wait until next year in my money league. It's only 8 person this year but we are going up next year. 8 person leagues = really stupid.

I don't really have anything to add to any of the conversations that are going on here, but my fustration dictates that I must find some outlet to rant about the current football season. I mean wth is going on this season?!?!? Why do most weeks have 1/2 the games end in serious upsets??? ...Sigh... You'd think starting Forte, Turner, Lloyd, A. Johnson, would mean that I would score huge pts, but the RB's combine for less than 10pts for me last week. Really? Turner and Forte?!!?!?!? And I bench Forte this week and start Turner and Blount and Forte decides he's going to actually do something and scores 16 fantasy pts.... Are you f'in kidding me?!?!?!

Hahahaha yea dude. I think I picked the wrong year to start playing FF hahahaha. It's crazy.

And it seems like the people with juggernaut teams are going to continue to have them in the FF playoffs because no team is that far ahead to where they will rest players. So cheers to all you fantasy dopes that magically hit the lottery - I hate you! Sort of.

That's the way it goes sometimes. I had one season about four years ago where I switched around my WRs every week based on matchups and the player that I benched would be my highest scoring WR for that week...every single week. Needless to say, I didn't even make the playoffs that year.:/

See that's the thing though. Its supposed to be that WR's are the gamble and RBs are the steady pts. RBs are handed the ball, so unless that is botched, they have the ball in hand and any forward progress will eventually get you pts. With WR's they have to catch the ball, fighting the defense, so its never garanteed that if they are targetted, they will get you pts. A few monster WR's are definately exceptions of course like Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Vincent Jackson (when he is playing). Those guys have the ability to take the ball out of the air most of the time it comes their way. In the league where I got Andre Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, Micheal Turner and Matt Forte my Wr's have been doing he heavy lifting and my RB are complete fail when I start them. Ok, Turner's touches have been decreased this year and Forte was never a top tier RB, but come on...its now at the pt where I'm happy with 10+pts from these guys who are featured backs on their respective teams. Blount is coming out of nowhere into fantasy relevance so I'll excuse him if he doesn't perform up to speed.

Oh and to top it all off, I reached early in the draft for Favre thinking he could have a similar season to last yr... Not match it, not exceed it, but just get into the same neighborhood in terms of fantasy pts... I'm now relying on Stafford (who isn't bad actually cuz he makes like 50+ attempts per game) and waiting for Vince Young (who I got from a trade) to get healthy.

Gacy's Clown
11/19/2010, 15:38
Stafford isn't healthy either, isn't he? I hear ya on Favre. Got him in my money league and Orton as a backup and we both know how quickly those roles got reversed. Painful year, my man.

11/22/2010, 12:31
Yay! Dropped Favre and now I can drop Young also!!! Its awesome being me!!!

Anyways, thanks to Rodgers and Steve Johnson, I've got a 32pts lead against Lloyd playing tonight. Should be a win for me if SD def doesn't have a complete meltdown.

And in my second league, I am -22pts with Malcolm Floyd (who is expected to play, but is on the injury list) and Lloyd playing tonight. I should win that one too unless both offenses decide they aren't going to show up. But if Lloyd blows up tonight I may lose my other league...

See kids! FF is fun! Wheeeee!!!!

Oh and I meant Sam Bradford not Matt Stafford as my QB. Sorry about the confusion and yes, Stafford is injured.

Got screwed overnight on points twice this weekend. Went to bed after Sunday's game with a 19 point lead, woke up with a 15 point lead (Vick gets 2 points for recovering his own fumble, really?) then went to bed tied last night, woke up to a one point loss.

Gacy's Clown
11/23/2010, 10:25
That fumble situation doesn't make sense at all. In most leagues a player loses 2 pts. for a fumble and get 2 pts. for a fumble recovery. So in Vick's case or any other player that fumbles and gets it back, it should just cancel each other out and score 0.
Sorry to hear that.:/

Gacy's Clown

Hero_guy
11/23/2010, 11:13
Well, I know they sometimes change the stats of a game overnite. I think its a review process where someone goes back and looks at the footage to determine what really happened. Usually its just a yrd or two difference on a run/catch or something like that. Or if a QB is actually just past the line of scrimmage and taken down versus behind the line for a sack.

But it could be totally possible for a QB to lose a fumble, have opposing team pick it up and run with it only to have it knocked out and recovered by the QB. In that case I don't see why the Qb would not get the penalty for losing the fumble and the pts for recovering a fumble. Not saying that's what happened, just that it is possible.

Yeah it didn't make sense to me either. It would mean a fumble recovery is basically a 4 point swing. Instead of losing 2 points if the defense has recovered, the offensive player gains 2 points. I don't mind points being adjusted after the fact, I just wish it would show what changed. I didn't look at it until before the game last night and then I was like wait... what happened. I've seen scores change a point or two overnight but having a 5 point swing over two nights isn't something I've encountered before.

LOL A few weeks back my Defense lost pts because the teams offense through an interception return for a touchdown :(

I've seen that go either way depending on the league. In recent years it seems to be trending towards not penalizing the defense for a TD they had no chance to prevent which is fine with me. It does bring up the interesting scenario where if you have the defense and the offense throws a pick inside its own 20 you're almost cheering for the return TD so that the defense doesn't have to come out and defend a short field. It always amuses me how little things have impacts on fantasy games.

Well, I know they sometimes change the stats of a game overnite. I think its a review process where someone goes back and looks at the footage to determine what really happened. Yeah like I said I know things change, I've just never had them change that much against me over the course of two nights. I mean it was basically an extra TD in points. And Vick is not credited in the box score with a fumble recovery. He fumbled twice if I'm remembering correctly. One the other team recovered, the other he was stripped as he was hit and then immediately fell on the ball. I think that's what they're crediting as a fumble recovery.

Gacy's Clown
11/23/2010, 11:42
I would just double check the official box scores and see if it is scored correctly with your league. Not sure what you could do about it, but that would at least give you an argument if the score is still messed up.

I actually won my game over the weekend in my money league! Playing against the #1 guy in our leageu overall, who has a monster team and I thought I was freaking sunk after Thursday.

Started of my kicker got me 0 and he had bears D so he had 18. I ended up winning like 130 to 90 or something! Hhahahaha.

Aaron Rogers and Greg Jennins netted me 63 together. His team ended up failing bad. Frank Gore got him 5, Bradshaw got him 0, Vernon Davis 0, Nicks got him 6.

So in a week where I got 0 with a kicker and 0 with tight end, I ended up smoking the #1 guy. It ruled. I still hate FF. Kinda sorta.

I need some advice for this week's line-up.

I've got:

Forte RB Chi vs. Phi
Blount RB TB vs. Bal
Turner RB Atl vs. GB
Lloyd WR Den vs. Stl
Floyd WR SD vs. Ind
Johnson WR Hou vs. Ten
Washington WR Ten vs. Hou
Woodhead RB/WR NE vs. Det

And I need to start 2 RB 2 WR and 1 flex spot RB/WR.

I'm sure I want Forte and Turner for my RB and Johnson and Lloyd for my WR, I'm just not sure which guy to roll with in the flex spot. And Woodhead plays tomorrow in the earlier game.

Floyd is playing with an injured hamstring and Vincent Jackson is back this week to possibly steal targets from him, but Jackson hasn't played in a long while so he may be rusty and used mainly as a decoy.

Washington has Randy 'the decoy' Moss on the team and it really opened him up last week. But the 3rd string (rookie) B is starting and I'm not sure if he is any good.

No one on the NE roster is going to be guaranteed a huge workload on any week except #12. Woodhead is good and the Det D tends to be weak against the receiving backs so there is some huge potential here.

I'll need to make a decision by the end of the work day today (6pm EST) as I will be pretty busy until after the first game starts tomorrow. Anyone got any opinions? I'm willing to consider changing my line-up entirely also.

Seahawks or NOTHING!

Basically two more matches in my league (da-Craig-O's) and I've got the two teams left that are both 2-9. If I win both, I think I'm in the playoffs as the last seed , at least. Which is cool! And then, the kid gloves are off.

I'm still in disbelief that an offensive player gets +2 points for recovering his own fumble. So a RB being hit at the LOS for no gain, fumbling and falling on it is equivalent to him breaking off a 20 yard run? It's been scored like that all year (I checked it out) but it's not something I was aware of until recently.

At least in my $ league it was.

My QB goes down, I am playing against Mike Vick. I look at his points in the 4th quarte - 8. Which basically means I will somehow pull out the win. I check 8 minutes later - 38 points. Then I still had a shot to win because the dude's other players did next to nothing. But Jennings gets me 1 TD. Gah!!!

Then in the other division the 2 top scoring teams are playing against each other. One scores 66 the other scores 55, season lows for both teams by pretty much half of their average.

One dude had Peterson, L Mccoy, and Hillis. COmbined score of like 6 or something hahahahaha.

Still wish I could have handed him a loss back in the regular season (lost by 1 freaking point) or gotten one more shot at him in the playoffs (my team laid an egg last week of course) not that it would have mattered. It's tough to go unbeaten in a fantasy league so congratulations are definitely in order.

Looks like my finishes in fantasy this year will be 2nd, 3rd and 4th in my three leagues. Not great but my goal is always to make the playoffs and I did that in all three leagues (and won at least one game too). I think I'm proudest of my 4th place finish as my team in that league was just dreadful. I went through 3-4 second QBs (we could start two), Ryan Mathews was my #1 RB in the draft, my top WR was either Maclin or pre-injury Dez Bryant and yet I was able to get into the playoffs and make it to the semi-finals. It's fun to go back and look at who you drafted and who you ended up with.

Here was my draft for the HCRealms league:

7 Andre Johnson, Hou WR
14 Reggie Wayne, Ind WR
27 Beanie Wells, Ari RB
34 Tom Brady, NE QB
47 Matt Forte, Chi RB
54 Jermichael Finley*, GB TE
67 Felix Jones, Dal RB
74 Reggie Bush, NO RB
87 Michael Bush, Oak RB
94 Terrell Owens*, Cin WR
107 Eli Manning, NYG QB
114 Packers D/ST, GB D/ST
127 Kenny Britt, Ten WR
134 Jon Beason, Car LB
147 Mason Crosby, GB K
154 Devin Aromashodu, Chi WR

versus my final team of

QB Tom Brady, NE QB
RB Matt Forte, Chi RB
RB Darren McFadden, Oak RB Q
RB/WR Mike Wallace, Pit WR
WR Reggie Wayne, Ind WR
WR Vincent Jackson, SD WR
TE Marcedes Lewis, Jac TE
DP Ray Lewis, Bal LB
D/ST Patriots D/ST, NE D/ST
K Shaun Suisham, Pit K
Bench Andre Johnson, Hou WR Q
Bench Felix Jones, Dal RB
Bench Eli Manning, NYG QB
Bench Packers D/ST, GB D/ST
Bench Knowshon Moreno, Den RB Q
Bench Reggie Bush, NO RB P

Congrats to Ice in League 1. He's stomped me pretty good in the Super Bowl. I needed to fire on all cylinders in order to beat him, and getting -2 for my defense and a total of 3 points between 3 RBs wasn't going to cut it. He had a great team and going undefeated is something amazing.

@Jerry and Absolut: Thanks for the congrats. It's the second time in 4 years I've gone undefeated in a FF League. I can't believe lightning struck twice. Heck of a season though, some really good teams in our league.

@Jarimy: Dude, I'm sorry but I really have to disagree with you on the "Fantasy Football is Stupid and all about Luck" comments that you have made all year long. It's about gauging match-ups and working the wire. It's about great drafts in the middle rounds (Foster and Bradshaw were mid-round pick-ups in our league) and making sure you don't reach (didn't draft a QB until round 8 this year in league 1).

I sat Adrian Peterson this year and not just because of injury. I worked the wire (Vick and Lloyd and Tamme) and spent my wire position on guys I really felt could help me.

I finished in the money in TWO money leagues and made the semi-finals in two free leagues. I won this league by going undeafeated against your "It just means you're gonna lose later" comment earlier.

It's not just luck. Just like this game called Heroclix isn't just luck. It's about backing up your actions. It's about making sure your plays give you the highest percentage rate of success. You don't play your RB against a DEF that is hitting on all cylinders. You play your RB2 who has a great match-up. You always have to roll the dice, but you don't always have to pray on it.

Thanks all for a great season. Look forward to next year.

I think you misunderstand my rants man. They are all sarcasm, and were all followed by "but I love it and can't wait for next year" type comments, which was an attempt to show my sarcasm thru typing.

But I'll bow out to your supreme fantasy football mastery on this one. Nice job going undefeated.

Edit: I'm totally serious about the mastery thing - this is my first year playing. I believe you know leaps and bounds more then I do about FF. I finished in the money in my $ league, and 2nd in my other league. Hcrealms 2nd league, the one I played in here, I believe is going for another week? If not not sure how I finished. I don't believe it's all luck, but personally I saw a metric ton of matches decided by 1 play. I mean yea Heroclix is the same way, they are pretty comparable, but you have a massive amount less control in FF.

One more edit: I also believe in all 3 of the leagues I played in, the person who picked up Vick off the waiver wire won every league. So while I believe the waiver wire is probably the best place to prove that FF isn't luck, I don't know that every person I know that picked up Vick is a genius and that's why they won. Seems to sound to me like he is one of the best waiver wire picks up ever?

My bad man, it's tough to read the sarcasm on these boards sometime.

Yeah, Vick was big in a lot of leagues, but he didn't make the finals in my money league. He got knocked out in Round 1 actually by a solidly built team.

In that league I didn't have a home run guy after Antonio Gates went out. I still got second and scored $450. Had a rougher road of it in my other money league, but gutted out a third place finish and $150 (got my money back) after Gore went down.

In both of those leagues we have a rotating Waiver Wire. In both of those leagues I saw people piss their Waiver Position away with the "Pick-Up" of the week. I waited, I protected my Waiver Position, and ultimately picked up some solid players in both of them. I missed out on Vick...but the guy that grabbed him was the same guy that grabbed "James Starks" and started him in the first week of the playoffs...and lost because of it.

I ignored the one week hitters (besides Brandon Lloyd, who I thought would have a big year because of the Broncs inability to play defense and McDaniels offense).

My team in the league that I placed second in:

QB: Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger
RB: Ray Rice, Ahmad Bradshaw, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Tim Hightower
WR: Roddy White, Brandon Lloyd, Marques Colston, Stevie "I Blame God" Johnson
TE: Antonio Gates and Kevin Boss
DEF: New England
K: Rob "My" Bironas

Vick actually didn't make the Finals in any league that I was in except the HC Leagues.

My other Money Team (bigger league, KR Yards count, 4 IDP, 3 FLEX no TE Necessary):

QB: Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger, Sam Bradford
RB: Frank Gore (IR), Brian Westbrook, Cedric Benson, Mike Goodson, Darren Sproles
WR: Steve Smith, Roddy White, Danny Amendola, Deion Branch, Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe
IDP: Charles Woodson, DeAngelo Hall, Derrick Johnson, Julius Peppers
K: David Akers

Lost Gore, Ryan Grant, Steve Smith in that league with Injury. Still ended up gettin my money back.

It's great to know you're hooked though man! There are certain small intricacies to this game that minimize the luck that you can't control. You can never escape Injury, but you can back that player up with a solid option to minimize your loss.

In the first league I picked up and played the DEF that was facing Carolina for 4 straight weeks, then started the Patriots VS the Packers when Rodgers was out...then just started them the rest of the way.

GREAT YEAR GUYS!! See you next season.

Yea being my first year, and literally having no clue, I was glad to make the money in my $ league, and do relatively alright in the other 2 leagues I played in. Would have loved to see what would have happened if Aaron Rogers hadn't gone out, I might have won my money league.

I can't wait until next year. I have a much better grasp of things. Towards the end I was able to really start to think ahead as far as who I wanted to play even 2 weeks out - and also pay much more attention to match-ups. At first I just figured I should play all my best players I drafted, and always put in the "highest projected" ESPN players - too bad I didn't realize projections are mostly not true hahaha.

I feel towards the end I had a firm grasp on looking at matchups and getting more in depth with it. Can't wait until next year. It seems to me like going undefeated, in any league regardless of the stakes, is pretty much ridiculous.

The funny/sad thing is I almost took Vick with my last draft choice in every league because I figured he would play at some point (and also kind of as a joke/homer pick since I'm a VT fan)... I just didn't figure he would play that much, that soon and that well. If I hadn't been confident in the QBs I drafted before him (P. Manning, T. Romo, T. Brady, P. Rivers) I probably would have taken a late flier on Vick and done much better. It was crazy because even when it seemed like Vick didn't have a good game, I'd look at the team he was on and he'd have 25-30 points.

The portuguese rookie will join the helmet clash this year!

I've been addicted to NFL recently!

This will surely improve my knowledge of the game!
