looks about a billion times better than the one we are geting in the next set. as for what parts.. its hard to tell in the one photo but i would agree the body looks like maybe ragmans, and the right hand looks like a mage knight figures hand green crystal chick if im right. other than that i have no clue... Great work there!!! keep up the good work!

Ragman is the primary piece but the head and each hand is from a different Marvel piece, and has a lot of sculpy, I'll let the guesses continue for a bit longer but I'll be surprised if anyone gets. Tendrils are a mix of the wire from a twist tie (rigid, yet flexible) and Putty to add texture.

I decided to Sculpt on Teeth, to add a bit more detail, put him in my light-box and took some different angles

Looks like Lady Deathstrikes hands. Did you copy and print the dial top? Cuz it has the same gold rings they use from their software that places dial top icons. That's one easy way to get a piece early, lol. Nice mod btw.

Yes I did print and hopefully will play the dial :) (for those that use Irfanview print @ 60%) The Head is FF Iron fist, Left Hand is Shang Chi's (putty for the claws), Right Hand is IC Sabretooth (Putty for claws).

when I made my Carnage mod, I used a matte red paint, and added India Ink to my black for extra glossy blackness. Combined with the pink mouth insides, it looks pretty good and stayed true to the first apperance visuals of the character.

The mouth on yours looks decent with the white teeth, but I bet glossing your black and doing the pink mouth-black teeth paint would improve it.

looks pretty cool. im hoping to do some work on a carnage here real soon. i dont think you need to gloss the black stuff. gloss paint looks awful if you ask me.

I've been kinda torn over the mouth. I know it's more accurate for the character to have a pink mouth, but the times I've seen him done with a white mouth... I don't know it always seemed a better contrast. I preferred the white so I painted it white, I'm not sure how well the pink would show up with how fine the black teeth are. I was rather sure of my decision for the white mouth, but I'm on the fence now. I referenced this pic a lot when sculpting as well, http://www.rankopedia.com/CandidatePix/5071.gif

I like the second carnage the best. And i agree that the mouth has to be pink. It just makes him look like... well carnage. In most of the comics I've red, he has always had a pink mouth. Look Here: http://www.google.com/images?q=carnage.

It shouldn't be to hard to paint over the white. But the teeth might get in the way. lol. Other than that i think the fig is pretty sick. nice job man. ;)

I found that using the gloss black really made the flat pink inside his mouth work well. It's just like a photo negative of Venom's white teeth.

I slapped mine up on eBay if you want to take a look at it in person :laugh:

All finished!!! Now with Pink Mouth!!! Finally done and I took the advice of some fellow modders and went with the Comic Accurate mouth. (added all new pics to beginning of the thread)

don't be prejudiced against gloss! He uses it exactly right here, and it looks great! Gloss is fantastic if you want to make something look wet, or metallic, or leathery! It looks bad when you use it on an entire figure that's not meant to be glossy. It looks terrible as flesh for example... but don't let that stop you from employing it when it IS appropriate!
