400 Point Soldier or S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hey all, new here, having just got back into the game, looking to go to a small tourney on Sunday and hoping to not suck. The tourney is 400 point highlander, print and play unrestricted, and these are the two lists I'm tossing around. My figure base is relatively limited, but any support would be greatly appreciated, especially as to which one sounds like the more solid list.

Soldier:
SV Captain Mar-Vell 165 pts
-Protected 8 pts
SI The Thing 100 pts
HoT Rocket Raccoon 70 (with ATA)
MM R Domino 35
Which leaves me 22 points for figure wiggle room or feats (right now I'm debating Rip it Up on The Thing)
As far as my thoughts on the team, I enjoy the amount of Prob, but right now I'm not sure if I've got a bit of over kill here. Debating dropping Rocket for Winter Soldier, or possibly trying to figure out where the frig I put my Starlord (which is ironic based on my name.)

SHIELD:
SI Iron Man - 188
-Brilliant Tactian 20
SN Nick Fury - 63
AV Winter Soldier - 70
AW Mystique - 52
-7 points in feats and pogs, debating Recharge on Iron Man.
This seems to be a bit more of a straightforward list, which I'm not sure is a good thing, it fell together a bit easier then the other which also may or may not be a good thing.

As far as stuff goes for these lists, I am sadly missing the SI Nick, but I have quite a scattered assortment of stuff to pull from, although sadly only the rookie Domino.

Thoughts?

Do you have some other soldiers? I'm not a big fan of Captain Mar-Vell. Do you have the FCBD War Machine? He'd be a great addition then drop Captain Mar-Vell. That'd give you more wiggle room and some adjustments could be made.

sadly he's one of the few I'm missing, as far as Heavier hitters, I have a Cain Marko who is a soldier, but he serves vaguely the same purpose as Mar-Vell, with his points though, I could also say pick up Winter Soldier, SN Nick, and Citizen V, I'd just have to cut back a bit on feats

Honestly that sounds like a better option. I think you'd get more mileage out of those guys combined over Cpt. Mar-Vell. How about the over-used HoT Captain America?

Once again, with my groups spotty collection, we've gotten almost no Hammer of Thor, something which we really really need to remedy, it's just been a bit difficult to find.

Ok, here is my current list I'm thinking with the soldier team after a bit of thought. It is lacking some of the bruiser heavy hitting, but honestly in a 400 point environment, the thing is a hell of a lot of bruiser and winter soldier brings some fire to the table. I'm probably going with this over the SHIELD team. Let me know what people think, and possibly lend some assistance on feats. Thanks.

This leaves me with 4 points to play with for feats, or maybe a pog, which I know is not much. What I'm most worried about now is the really hard targets and how I'm breaking through them, also the lack of perplex on the team. The three pieces I'm toying with on the back burner right now are Gorgon, US Agent, Starlord (if I can find mine), and Ultimates Falcon.

What are people's thoughts on the new team?

This could be a fun team. You've got range and you've got a close combat bruiser. You have two sources of probability control and that's just mean. Maybe put alias on The Thing to help protect him a bit more and burn up those last 4 points.

one of my fave combos is to use SHIELD snipers (22 points) with the spotter feat which could help out winter soldier plus they can crack damage reducers from range (im pretty sure they have the soldier keyword) and also the SHIELD TA

on a side note if you have any ive been thinking of using checkmate characters with the soldier keyword with SHIELD guys
Ive not put anything together yet but it looks pretty good i theory
