View Full Version : SunDevil is back with his ALL NEW TAG-TEAM SUPREME 32 Team Tournament!!!

Welcome back fight fans! Just to give Vet Hulk a rest from stealing all the other Clix figures lunch money in the single fig tournaments, I present you with the TAG-TEAM SUPREME Tournament!
I took the 32 most expensive Vet and Unique figures from IC, HT and CT (no OWAW, he’s an LE folks, sorry!) and paired them up in reverse order with the next 32 most expensive figures. #32 w/#33, #31 w/#34, #30 w/#35, etc on up to #1 w/#64. When multiple figures stepped up with equal point costs (there are a lot of 69 point figures, hmmm...:D) I rolled to see where they paired off.
I made 2 exceptions. One, I dropped Vet Human Torch. I don’t think this needs any explanation. :)
Two, I made Vet Hulk the #1 seed due to his undefeated romps through two previous tournaments.
I even seeded the teams to more closely resemble the March Madness brackets that inspired me to do this. Yea, they’re exactly alike now… :P
Here are the modified rules from my 1-on-1 games, updated for the Tag-Team Melee…
NOTE - My thanks to those of you who helped me revise my previous rules into the list below!
1. Figures battle 1-on-1 and start base-to-base. There is NO movement, only attack, Blades, Regeneration, SuperSenses and Shapechange/Skrull rolls are allowed. One die is rolled for each team to decide who goes first. Highest roll wins.
2. Leadership, Charge, Running Shot and free-move team abilities (JLA, BrotherHood, Avengers) all give +1 to that teams initiative roll (to decide who goes first). Figures can have +3 if they have two of those three abilities on their first click plus the team logo .
3. There is no pushing and no passing. Warriors alternate attacks until one team falls. Only one fig on a team can attack during a turn but the other can use Outwit, PC or Perplex to help as usual. Partners do not have to alternate attacks. Critical hits and misses count as usual.
4. RCE (+2 damage) is allowed so the range experts are not steamrolled by the close combat monsters. Energy Shield Deflection gives +2 to ranged combat defense. Stealth and Barrier prevent a RCE attack. Smoke Cloud gives +1 to defense against RCE.
5. Fighters can use Enhancement and Support on partners and then, if the teammate falls, on themselves.
6. If one figure can no longer hurt the other (only doing 2 damage against invulnerability, for example) then I kept rolling anyway, just in case of crit hits and misses.
7. Incapacitate, Energy Explosion and Pulse Wave all worked like Psychic Blast in that they could slice through all defensive powers that reduced damage. Damage was always reduced to 1. Successful Incapacitate attacks also meant the targeted figure had to skip the next turn, even if they were the only person left from their duo.
8. Combatants could be Mind-Controlled and then be made to attack their partners. If alone, they could attack themselves. They still had to make the roll.
9. If Warriors with Telekinesis or Super Strength rolled doubles on an attack roll, they received a +1 bonus to their damage to account for the occasional object. And, yes, that means crit hits added +2 to damage, one for the crit and one for the object.
10. Leap/Climb and Phasing gave that fighter a +1 defensive bonus to simulate their ability to easily run away and recover.
11. Team ablilities work as normal. Abilities requiring 2 figures (Defenders, SS, MoE, etc.) needed both figures to have it or a Wildcard ability to use it though.

They both like it up close and personal so they can hand out beatings to the tune of 3, 4 and even 5 damage! They do have to get in the mood though by getting past their “I’m not mad enough to stomp you’re a$$ yet” first clicks! They are your #1 seed, the top team in the nation, the Four Letter H-Bombs…Vet Hulk and Vet Hawk!
And in this corner, one of them weighing in at such a grotesque amount that I can’t count that high and the other too fast to weigh at all, your #32 seed, The Two-Ton Tub of Terror and the Burgandy Blur…Vet Flash and MMMMMOJO!!!
I want a clean prediction out of all of you watching at home…now let’s get it on!

Cool. Sounds like a fun idea. I enjoyed your last tournament, and I choose Hulk and Hawk to steamroll these goofs. The massive damage they bring to the table is enough to beat Flash and Mojo.

Gah! I missed being the first poster by mere seconds! Seconds I tell you! SECONDS! Sigh, well anyways, I put my vote in for the H-Bombs of Hulk & Hawk. May their victims' pain be mercifully brief.
Although I love the sound of "The Two-Ton Tub of Terror and the Burgandy Blur" I'll have to go with Hulk and whatever that DC thingamajig he's got is.
I recomend you wait a little for the crowds from other thread to see it before posting the result, to get the betting up.

I'll break with the trend and Go "The Two-Ton Tub of Terror and the Burgandy Blur" If Flash and Mojo beat up Hawk first They can then MC Hulk to hit him-self, If flash can hit his outwit for a while and have Hulk bash himself for 4 dam a few times it will be all over.

I have to predic Hulk/Hawk. They are just too powerful.

Well.. since he already won the two previous march madness tourneys, this one should be a lock:
HULK/HAWK totally SMASH Flash and Mojo...
the H/H attack will be too powerful for the mighty combination of speed and gastrointestinal speed to avoid....

I'm with Mojo/Flash here. Hawk's defense score is never that strong making him an easy target for mind control. Ideally Hawk can be controlled into bashing Hulk apart while Flash outwits any defensive powers that stand in the way. Also, Mojo can make Hulk push (with Flash neutralizing Battle Fury later on). It would take a fair bit of strategy, but it seems like Hulk and Hawk are a little too straight forward here.

I'm going with the upset and here's why....
Flash doing Hypersonic has a good chance to tag Hulk for 5 to 6 clicks. Then, he outwits Hulk's SS. We already know that Hawk is not going to get Flash or Mojo until he takes at lease one click. The turning point will be... If Hulk attacks Flash in return, and gets by the Super Senses, then Outwit is gone, and likely The Gelatanous Burgandy Blur team. If he misses the attack, Flash then outwits the BF and Mojo makes Hulk attack himself to the tune of 2 more clicks. Close enough to finish, since Hawk will still be ineffective.
Main thing is to concentrate the attacks on either Hulk or Hawk only.

El Diablo - Before we're even one match in, I can see that this tourney's going to be VERY different from the previous ones. In the past it was easy enough just to compare dials, but with two figs, some strategy actually comes into play. Makes it a tougher call that's for sure.
Are you going to post the brackets for us? Or do you think that would make it to tempting for people to "pick ahead"?
Two powers in the first battle aren't adressed, maybe because they work as normal? Hypersonic and poison.

Coughing his way through the thick smoke coming from some of the assembled, enters The Gelf. Squinting ,he studies the big board with the steely eye of the gun fighter.
"hmmm... Yes. I see...."
He reaches under his serape. The crowd feezes, not wanting to make any sudden moves in the presence of this veteran gambler. But when he pulls out his hand, the crowd sees that it holds not a weapon but a small pouch with the musical jingle of gold singing from within. The bag leaves his hand with a flick and describes a rainbow arc as it sails through the air and lands on the bookmaker's table.
"Put it all on the big green guy and his buddy."
He scans the room for a long moment, then turns with the tinnier jingle of spurs on the barroom floor and exits, stage left, without a backwards glance.

just too keep up with fogs, H/H. but i'm a little cofused about the way this is going to work.. is it one on one with tag when they DIE? or is it tag whenever? and do you get to choose who to attack? i dunno.
I also would like a quick explanation as to the "Tag" rules.
That being said, Hulk and Hawk in a walk.
(By the way... what ever happened to that Hulk/Doomsday team that was listed on your team listings on that prior thread, SD? Was that Banner/Doomsday, so therefore it might still make the tourney?)

If they win the toss then Flash will have a world of hurt. Although Hawk needs to Hulk out as well which can end up hurting them against the Flashes hypersonic attack.

First, I'll try to answer some questions...
sfield - The Banner/Doomsday pair was NOT from anything I've done, it was from that tournament that "borrowed" my rules. (The one fogs mentioned.)
fogs - I'll be announcing one match at a time. I don't want people picking ahead! I will give more time for each match to get predictions in.
silver viper - Hypersonic and Poison act as normal.
FalconKnight - This isn't a "real" Tag-Team I guess. All four figures start in four spaces together in a square. They are all B2B and teammates do not have to take turns attacking. They can pick on one opponent or alternate targets, whichever best fits their needs. I call it a Tag-Team tournament because it sounded better than "Duo Tourney" or "World's Baddest Pairs Competition." :)
Hope this helps, I will post the results of Match 1 tonight!
Shut my eyes, grit my teeth, I will take Mojo/Flash. Going out on a limb and hoping Flash can hit Hulk or Hawk 5-6 times.

i am only a marvel player, but im gonna try to get into dc as soon as i get some money:cool: so im not very familiar with the poison rules, does it automatically hit every adjacent person, or do you choose who it affects? regardless, im gonna have to go with my gut and not my strategic thinking and predict H&H to win ( i guess i havnt seen much of mojo's dial, but im not too worried about flash once he looses outwit

Match I results!
Thanks to leadership, Mojo's crew gets the first shot. Mojo thinks to himself, "Self, Hawk makes a nice target" but then he gutshots himself with a crit miss! In his defense, that gut IS sort of hard to miss... :)
Hulk needs a 10 to hit Flash...and gets it! But Flash sees the not-yet-green fist coming and easily dodges.
Mojo blasts Hawk for 2 and Flash outwits his SuperStrength in case he comes back with doubles.
Hawk pounds on Mojo and ol' Two-Ton gets poison...which hulks Hulk up like Spinach does Popeye!
Sensing tyhe growing threat of the Big Green, Flash outwits Hulk's toughness so Mojo can MC Hawk...but the roll fails!
Hawk puts a doubles attack into Mojo's jelly roll to the tune of 4 damage. Mojo is left clinging to his last, powerless click and sucking a thumb.
Flash outwits Hawks Toughness but misses Hypersonic by 1. He then proceeds to create some very naughty words. :)
Hawk just laughs and clotheslines the Blur for 3.
Flash once again misses HS by 1...and gets to use some of those new words. A lot. :)
Hawk then misses by 1 and hopes that what Flash has isn't contagious.
Flash has better luck this time around and HS's 2 clicks (aided by a crit hit on 2nd HS roll) on Hawk after his toughness. Hawk just smiles, cracks his knuckles and gets ready to throw some CCE Flash's way...
...for 4 clicks that the Scarlet Speedster cannot avoid.
At this point, neither Flash nor Mojo (remember him? he's the one cowering in the corner) can hurt Hawkamania so he finishes them at his leisure. He then nudges Big Green from his nap and they stroll into the second round hoping for a challenge more worthy of a #1 seed...
Up next, he is the Fantastic Four's #1 fan (if imitation if flattery!) His partner enjoys brainlining Venom, breaking spines and taking names! They are the Shapeshifting Skrull and the Gotham Goon, your #16 seed...SUPERSKRULL AND BAAANNNEEE!!!
Rounding out the closest first round match (according to seeding anyway!)...this Last Son of Krypton died but came back to see what all the fuss was about and she is so evil...she has a Masters in it! They are Dark Clark and a Daughter of the Secret Wars, your #17 seed...UNIQUE SUPERMAN AND TITAAANNNIIIAAA!!!

Smoke. Thick and grey. Swirling in the cavernous gambling hall. The Winners cheer and collect there loot. The Losers curse idly, and get ready to double down. An eddy in the smoke reveals our hero. He strolls through them like a scythe through wheat. It is the mysterious gambler known only as the Gelf. Where he came from none can say, but they all know he has come to this competition to win… and they are afraid. Some may bluster, and some may brag, but deep in their hearts they can see that he means business.
“Yup.” he says as he acknowledges the results of the first round. No surprises there. He scans the next round with a practiced eye. Once again, the results seem preordained to him. He crosses to the bookie.

At the centre of all the smoke, admidst bottles of beer, and cigar stubs, there sits a troll, king of all in the gambling hall. Puffing another pume of smoke into the air, chuckling as the others cough, and 2 more sneak out the back door for air. He summons his young protege Gelf to come over.
Gelf who won last round?
Oh mighty Pipman, says Gelf you were correct, the green man and the fairie with the wings won.
Of coarse, of coarse, who's up next my young padewan?
Gelf quickly runs over and checking, comes back telling Pip, that its Bane and Superskrull vs Clark Kent and Titania
Pip, hands the boy some money and tells him to put it on, the alian and the guy on steroids.
But..But... stutters Gelf, i already bet on Titania and Superman
You shoulda checked with me first, cause you know I can pick em, See all Titania is good for is after the fight... speaking of which you set that up for me eh Gelf, her and me and a night she'll remember.
Yes.. yes of coarse Mr. Pip sir, right away, you betcha uh huh, and he trots off to place the bet and set up the rendevous.

This one's tough, but I lean toward Super Skrull and Bane in this match.
This is a nice interesting idea. Can't wait to see all the pairings and draw up my brackets.

I'm also going for the SS and Bane. That Running Shot at the beginning can only be a big help and the abundance of CCE from Bane will lay some serious pain down on the other side.

the young boy knows he is unable to gamble at this age, but then he was never one to listen to petty rules. "what do you think gelf?" i'm going with titania and superman "and you, pip?" it looks like superskrull and bane to me, pal the young boy looks around, it appears that others have money put on the unique couple. he decides that luck has been with him so far, and he puts his allowance on the skrull and bane. he grabs one of pip's cigars and strolls back to his skateboard.

Gonna have to go with Bane and those 5 and 4 clicks of damage he does should be the decider. Knock Titania out of Inv and finish them off.

Before we get started I just have to say that XPlosion looks fantastic and I don’t know how I am going to make it 3 ½ more weeks. Hopefully this will help tide us over… :D
Ok, deep breath…now let’s do this thang!
Match II - #16 SuperSkrull/Bane vs. #17 Unique Superman/Titania
Using U Supes +2 initiative bonus, he and Titania decide Bane poses the biggest threat and decide to start with him. Titania delivers the opening move to Bane’s jaw for 2 clicks. Bane looks confused but, then again, he always looks that way.
Bane tries to come up with a witty comeback and fails miserably. So he just gets mad and gives Titania 2 clicks of her very own.
U Supes, boy scout that he is, just can’t stand to see a woman hurt so he boxes Bane’s ears for another 2.
Bane can’t understand why everyone can’t just get along. This confuses him enough so that he misses Titania. Meanwhile, SuperSkrull is seen hitting on some fine young Skrullettes in the front row seats.
U Supes cracks Bane for 2 more, putting the brainlining Venom junkie on his 2nd-to-last powerless click. Trouble brewing for the #16 seeded team...
The most Super of Skrulls decides to grace us with his presence and steps in. He eyes them both but goes for Dark Clark to the tune of 2 damage. He’d just rather look at Titania longer than he would Clark. Must be a Skrull thing. :)
Titania stands by her man, so to speak, but that’s all she does as she misses the other big S.
Skrull likes ‘em feisty…but not this much. He thumps Titania’s skull for, you guessed it, 2 clicks. His giant, Thing-like, rocky fist almost glances off her non-existent forehead. Almost. :)
Super U goes for the Skrull…but trips on his mullet and misses.
Skrull rocks SuperU for 3 and does a happy Skrull dance as he realizes that neither of his wounded opponents can hurt him now w/o the aid of doubles or crit hits. The Happy Skrull Dance soon becomes a national craze. :)
Titania misses the Dancing Skrull.
Skrull moves her dial 3 clicks to the right and considers it an improvement.
Titania, sensing the urgency, decides to at least not get shut-out and pops Bane for 1. Due to severe withdrawal, Bane does not notice, he just keeps shaking and cold sweatin'.
Being the equal opportunity super-villian that he is, Skrull puts the Last Son of Krypton 3 slots closer to those three, little, red KO’s.
SuperU, with his earth-shaking 4 attack (kids, cover your eyes!), actually manages to KO’s the oblivious Bane.
Taking the “eye-for-an-eye” approach, Skrull KO’s SuperMulletMan.
Titania misses her last, feeble attempt and Skrull puts her to sleep. Skrull then, remaining untouched and feeling frisky, resumes his conversation with trio of Skrullettes in front row seats. None of them stay long. Bane just sleeps it off right there on the arena floor.
That’s it! Your #16 seed – SuperSkrull and Bane move into the 2nd round!
Up next…
They met through a mutual friend, Superman…when one tried to kill him! The attempted assassin likes it up close and personal because, well, he has no range and no other abilities besides smashing things. His partner likes to soften people up from far away, then swoop in and finish them off with a whole new kind of expertise! They are the Wonder that tore Clark asunder and the Man ashamed to have been played by Shaq…the Big Bad Bone Daddy and DC version of Iron Man with Thor’s Hammertime…your #8 seed (with the WORST nicknames YET!)…DOOMSDAY AND STEEL!!!
Their opponents, your #25 seed, are the Slinger and the Seductress…the Bug and the Blonde…ENCHANTRESS AND SPIIIIDEEERMAAAN!!!

D'oh! I forgot to add...some of you have asked for/wondered about the rest of the first round. Well, I plan to keep going one at a time and not to post matches in advance. Hopefully, you won't all get fed up with me! Be patient! We will have a new fight every other night. We need this support group to help each other get through the cold, harsh, bitter wasteland that is the next 3 1/2 weeks... :)

man, 2 good marvel figs and 2 better dc ones, i'd like to pull for spidey and enchantress, but i cant ignore those 2 heavy hitters.

You know, I thought about this one for awhile.
This is a Marvel vs DC battle in the sense that Spideys got really high numbers, +1 for leap/climb on D under the SD Rules. Enchantress can also share his AV.
Still, if Doomsday/Steel win the initiative roll, Spidey and Enchantress are *@#$ed.
Too many things have to go PERFECTLY for Spidey/Enchantress, so I'm going DC on this one.

One of my best friends (best man at my wedding, that's how best he is!) lives in Miami and I was THIS CLOSE to asking (begging actually) him to drive up to Orlando to get me some XP. Sanity prevailed. Barely. I mean BBBAAARRREEELLLYYY... :)

Match III Results!!!
As the first roll of dice flies in order to determine the first attack, I am reminded of an old grade shool joke...
"How do you stop a Rhino from charging?"
"Take away his credit card." Riotous laughter ensues...at least from the slide to the merry-go-round. :)
Anyway, that sort of applies here because Doomsday uses his charge to win the roll after both sides rolled a five. He needs only a four to hit Enchantress and her pesky Psychic Blast. He gets exactly that four to make her dial cave in. The actual total was 4 clicks but it's all pretty much the same with Enchantress.
Spidey incapacitates DoomDoom for one but ol' Bonehead still gets his Impervious roll and he uses it to dodge the Wallcrawlers web. Enchantress, using her MOE Team ability, gives Doomsy a mean look (since that's about all she can do now) but misses.
Apparently liking life on the edge, DoomDoom rolls exactly the 8 he needs to squash WebHead for 5. (Oh SuperSenses, where art thou?) Spidey does get Outwit though...
...which he uses to outwit DoomforRent before popping an (in)cap in his a$$ for 1 click. Enchantress misses DoomRaider but he does have to take next turn off so it's a victory of sorts.
Steel steps in like a well-rested relief pitcher and promptly rolls doubles to crack Pete for 4 big clicks. Parker just misses his Flurry/Outwit/2 damage clicks on his way out of conscienceness.
Enchantress misses FinFangDoom and waits for the end.
Doom, mad as he!! about all the strupid nicknames I've been giving him, rolls doubles for a 6-click overkill KO of the Enchantress.
Just as most of you predicted, it was a bloodletting out there today. Best just to move on, nothing left to see here... :)

the kid is back, and this time he plans on laying down some serious doe. he kicks up his board and strolls into the clouded back alley, he sees an ugly little troll dancing in one corner, surounded by even uglier women, and he decides this guy must be one of those hi rollers, he chuckles to himself and slips up to the bookie. "Whats the matchup tonite, chuck?"The matchup, young sir, is Juggernaut and Joker vrs Wolverine and Nightmare The kid thinks it over, this is a tough one to call, he looks pip's way, and sees he is undecided as of yet. the others seem to be leaning toward the Enhanced mutant and the bad dream, he decides that with juggernaut's damage already being at four, and with the joker possessing his share of perplex, this could definatly go easily in their favor. but one must never rule over the beloved BCF, which has gotten every clix player through a tough time at one point or another, he decides that the juggernauts damage falls pretty steadily, and wolverine has regeneration up his sleeve too, so he is betting on luck, and the 1d6 that will decide just how many clix that wolverine will hit for. he drops his wad and spits out "put 'er on Wolverine and Nightmare"
his allowance is spent, his lungs full of smoke, he strolls back to his skateboard with one thing on his mind, just how many xplosion boosters he will be able to afford after winning on this tournament:D

I hate going against my favorite Juggernaut. But I think the BCF is going to make the difference in this one. Pretty solid back and forth with Nightmare and Juggs, but one hit on Joker removes his threat. He could Mastermind the damage to....his big toe or something I guess. Could be really close, due to Inv.
Nightmare (bad dreams) and Wolvie (claws).

Actually, Joker can't Mastermind onto Juggy. You can only Mastermind onto figs with smaller point costs (unless I'm missing a special "SD tournament rule" here).

OK, you guys caught me. I forgot to post my Mastermind rule for this Tag-Team tourney...so here goes!
Masterminded damage can be put onto the MMer's teammate REGARDLESS of their respective point totals. There are only two figures on each team after all. :)

I'm picking Nightmare and Wolvie. My reasoning is this:
A sucessful incapacitate deals 1 damage, AND prevents the opponent from attacking the next round. Nightmare can essentially keep juggy in Incapacitate lock the entire time. Booyah.
Even If thats not right, I'm still picking Nightmare and Wolverine.

good thought.... i'm sticking with my wolverine/nightmare bet too. if wolvie's bcf is successful, then juggy'll be taken down fast. and if the joker outwits it -- then keep attacking him with a lower defense value forcing him to mastermind it on juggy until he's gone -- then waste the laughing fish thrower... just a thought.
or of course, since incapacitate should result in push damage click, then it can't be masterminded. a quick incapacitate on the joker should get him off his outwit pretty fast.

Nightmare has invulnerability how does poison get past that? I thought it went through impervious not invulnerability. Because of that i vote for wolverine and nightmare. Joker sucks, and juggy will be fighting up hill after all the incapacitate nightmare has, cause he #### well wont miss.

I hereby officially switch my bid. I say now that Juggernaut and Joker will destroy Wolvie and Nightmare, no contest. the kid strolls around the corner and through the gate, (the bouncers don't think anything of it because of all the facial hair.*fact..a funny story goes with that pm me if you want to hear it.. not that anyone will) but he retraces his steps, looking for his flannel jacket that he had left the previous night. he was a little groggy, and could not remember exactly what he had done last night, but one thing was for certain, he was down fifteen dollars at the moment and missing a jacket. the bookie waved him over. the kid again slides up to the table and asks whats up. the bookie replies many of the gamblers are changing their bets sir, in response to the newly posted rule the kid saw that he had put his money on the clawed fellow and the mean lookin guy with the pretty pink dial. he saw no real reason to change it, so he told the bookie to leave his bet as it was. he returned to the search, only to find a somewhat familiar face, though he wished he had never seen it. the troll was just awakening, and as he did so, tossed a jacket aside, well, the mystery was solved, and all this kid had to do was grab the jacket and go get some cocoa puffs, but no, this other guy, gelf, grabbed the jacket and told the troll that it was getting breezy in the alley, and he should put it on. the troll seemed angry that someone could be telling him what to do, but in the end realized that it was in his best interest. the kid, not wanting to cause a scene, what with his being a couple years short of legal, strolled back to his board and went home to a nice cold bowl of choclate cereal, and cartoon network.

Put me down for the Vet joker and the Vet Juggernaut.
My prediction is as follows:
Wolverine can do a lot more damage to jugg than nightmare can. Sundevil, being the smart guy that he is, will immediately see wolvie as the bigger threat and use the joker to neutralize him. How you ask? Well the Joker can outwit Blade/Claws on wolverine and that will make him a complete non-factor for the rest of the match. Juggey has 7 invulnerable clicks and as long as he's on one of those joker can mastermind the wolverine damage over to him, and nothing bad will happen there, then it's just juggie vs nightmare and if juggie gets nightmare past the first four clicks then he'll start taking poison damage from the joker. Joker will also unfortunately be a non factor in this match except for keeping wolverine down and the eventual poison damage and attacking night mare once invulnerability and toughness go. If nightmare gets 7 hits in on juggie before he dies himself then team jugg is dead. Fortunately nightmare can only do one damage at a time to the juggernaut.
Of course this is what I would in this situation, if sundevil doesn't think of doing this then I could very well lose this prediction. So sundevil you better read this and try my idea out. :)

Sorry for the delay, I had to help a friend prepare for this weekends tourney! Here are the results of Match IV!!!
Despite JugHeads charge card, Wolverine gets the first attack. He hits Joker for 4 with his claws which the Clown Prince promptly hands to Juggernaut like it was a baby in a loaded diaper. Jugger takes 2 after invulnerability.
Joker outwits Wolverines toughness, hoping a big Juggernaut hit will cruch the canuck's attack so much that a blade hit would be unlikely. But JugHead misses the roll!
Wolverine decides to bypass the middleman and pass the damage directly to the consumer. He rolls another 4 and Jug can only stop 2 of them.
Joker outwits the X-Man's toughness again and deicdes to take matters into his own hands. He rolls a crit hit for 2 clicks on Wolverine!
But the fiesty Canadian comes back strong, as he is known to do, and blades Juggernaut for 5...enough for the KO!
Joker has fallen into a rut...he outwits toughness and hits Wolvy for 1.
Nightmare steps in to give his partner a break and dismisses Joker for 3 damage. (forgot to...*ahem*, enhance himself). Thinking he has his teammates best interest, Nightmare forgets about Jokers poison! Wolverine takes 1 click.

Hmmmm,
I want to pick White Queen and Fixit. I'd love to see Emma mind control Ultron who would then lay a serious hurtin' on Dove before things even get started, but it won't happen. Ultron is a beast and Unless you smack Dove for 5 or so on the first try, she gets downright nasty herself.

fogs - You are right, TEAMS alternate attacks and each side can choose which warrior will attack for them that turn based on what is their best bet. I probably did get sloppy with the cut and pasting. :)

Just in case some of you were still wondering, this is the V Queen. Only V's and U's were invited to this clambake although I agree with those of you said the E Queen is better.
Side Note - The XPlosion figures are REALLY making me look forward to my next 128 Most Expensive Vets and Uniques 1-on-1 Tournament. Taskmaster, Abomination, Iron Man, Mandarin...the list goes on and on. Of course, with the IC Vet Hulk undefeated in 2 previous tourneys (and 1-0 here!) I can't imagine how tough Savage Hulk will be in this format. Any suggestions? Should I handicap him...or just ban him?

Set him up alone against all the sets of pairs, and see who defeats him or comes close anyway

The Hulk situation certainly needs more thought and discussion...but we have other matters to attend to...like who triumphs in Match V!!!
Fixit's Crew gets to go first, thanks to his leadership, but neither of them can hurt Ultron! Fixit tries for a crit hit...and rolls an 11!
Ultron decides to take down the Gray Gangsta's help before tackling the Big Gray so he blasts the Queen for 3 clicks. She goes all invulnerable on his a$$ and gains outwit to boot.
She outwits the Mad Machine's Invulnerability and rolls double...3's when she needed and 11.
Ultron, showing machine-like patience (imagine that!) weakens her by one more click.
Emma the Frosty tries the outwit-to-hit combo again with the same results...none.
Ultron, wishing machines could yawn to show his utter boredom, cracks her for one more.
Queen again outwits Ultron's Invuln and decides to let Fixit attack. Still not mad enough to give his all, he misses.
Ultron turns up the heat on Ms. Frost for 2 clicks, costing her the Outwit ability.
Fixit swings wildly at the Mad Machine but misses with a 10.
Ultron casually dismisses the Queen, KOing her, and sets his sights on the Big Gray.
Fixit braces himself and misses. Things look very bad for him - all alone against a fully charged Ultron and an untouched Dove...
Ultron has no choice but to risk angering Fixit by hitting him for 2 clicks.
Fixit fights back...and misses by 1.
Ultron grits his mechanical teeth and hits the Fix for 2 more - giving the Gangsta Invulnerability and Perplex. If a stand is to be made, it has to start here...
Fixit quickly weighs his options...and decides to Perplex his damage up to 4, hoping for the big damage instead of choosing the safer bet of raising his attack. The dice fly...
...wait for it...
...a CRIT HIT! Ultron is staggered with 4 clicks of damage! The crowd goes wild! The pro-Fixit crowd anyway... :)
Ultron gathers himself in an instant and, needing only a 5 to retaliate, rolls a 3. Misfire!
Sticking with what worked before, Fix ups his damage to 4 and Ultron takes 3 of it in the form of a giant gray fist upside his now-rattling lunchbox of a head. Ultron can't hurt Fix now!
The machine rises from the rubble and needs a crit hit...and gets it to rid the Fix of Perplex! The other half of the crowd goes wild!
Fixit skips the tricks this time and uses raw power to pound Ultron for 3 clicks. The machine falls for good...
Dove rolls for the practice...and barely misses a crit miss after the long time off.
Fixit hits her so hard her dial spins 3 places to the right, past her 4 damage but squarely on her 3 damage...
Dove returns fire with 2 clicks for the Fix...helping him find his Regeneration.
He rolls for Regen...and nails a 6 to return to his best click.
Dove does what she can, hitting him for 1.
Fixit plays it safe and ups his attack to hit Dove for 3 she just can't dodge in time.
She vows to go down fighting and swings but misses badly.
Fixit punches her 4-click ticket out of the tournament.
It's all over! We have our first upset as the #5 seed falls! Mr. Fixit single-handedly KO's both Ultron and Dove, then drags his Ko'ed partner into the second round. No question who the MVP of this one was...

I can't believe Ultron lost to fixit!!! wow. In the next battle i think that Blastaar and Rogue will take this one. I think it will be closer than people think though. Spidey gets to share his high D with rouge, and rouge is just plain scarey enough.(she took down my V Anhilius all by herself)

Man, first one in the L column. Ultron needed to have pulse wave so that he could have put Dove off her pansy click before she got into the fight. Nice to roll a 6 on regen too. If Fixit rolls a 1 or a 2 there he maybe doesn't come out of it looking so hot.
Oh well, on to the next round. Invisible Woman gets to share her 19 defense with her partner right? Doesn't seem to me that they'll be taking much damage without some extremely nice rolls for the other team.
Has to be Sue Storm and Blastaar.

i should have known better than to bet against any form of hulk :( well, thats like 3 losses for me now, so much for the heavyweights...:mad: well, this one should be a pretty easy call, i think, 2 creatures with 19 defense at some point, thats hard to get by, not to mention blastaars constant toughness and iw's invul-tuffness. styrix has a point about the black though, i think the fig i would want most is one with all black powers all the way down the dial, (although regen and steal energy are an unlikely duo. but whatever, IW+Blastaar to win

tristam - I use the only pair of dice I have ever used for Heroclix, whether playing for fun, in a tournament or doing these "special" tournaments for your enjoyment - the set of dice I got from my one and only Marvel Starter from when Heroclix first came out. They have always served me well. :)
fogs - I wish I did have some evil magic because I'd use to to make WizKids release XPlosion oh....like right now! :)

OK, I had to weigh in the on the "How's my Punisher Dial?" post and, since Big Pun is my all-time fav, it took awhile! Anyway, here is how Match VI went down!!!
Sue and the Star take the initiative and the Invisible woman takes a crack at Spidey, trying to take his 18 D away from both him and Rogue. No dice as she misses.
Spidey begins the arduous task of keeping Blastaar subdued through his monstrous, upcoming clicks. He incapacitates the Space Hulk for 1, pinning him down for the next round.
See-Though Sue misses the WebHead again.
Pete returns the favor and misses her.
Blastaar finally snaps the webbing around his arms but it throws off his aim as he misses Spider-Man.
Spider-Man risks giving the other team the ability to defend as well and incaps IW for 1.
Blastaar misses the Wallcrawler again...but this time by only 1.
Rogue, hoping for the big hit to stop Sue from helping Blastaar too much, tries to pound her but misses.
Images of the broad sides of barns begin... :)
Blastaar misses Spider-Man. The high defences are ruling this fight.
Rogue misses the big shot again on IW
Blastaar finally gets this party started by tagging Spidey for 2.
When it rains it pours, because now Rogue hits IW for 2.
Blastaar tries to EE through Rogue's defences but crit misses. This is, of course, a blessing in disguise, as he just goes to a better click.
Spidey senses (but doesn't SUPERsense!) that this could get out of hand quickly so he tries to incap Blastaar...but misses.
Blastaar doesn't want WebHead getting another try so he rocks Spidey for 3, giving the Wallcrawler outwit.
He uses it to remove Blastaar's toughness but Rogue misses! They really needed that one...
Blastaar KO's Spidey as Petey just misses his great finishing clicks.
Steeling herself to pull a Mr. Fixit and take both of her opponents out herself, Rogue misses Blastaar by 1.
The Space Hulk hits Rogue for 1, giving her the ability to steal his energy...
Rogue AGAIN misses by 1, missing the chance to heal back to her first click.
Blastaar gives her 2 more clicks to think about.
Rogues misses.
Blastaar hits her for 2 more.
She misses again...
...and Blastaar hits doubles for a 4-click KO.

I bet sundevil's been having trouble logging on. It's been real buggy lately.
i think he's just letting the suspense build up because kang and sabertooth and the longer he waits the more we're willing to throw down more cash on the match, thus bringing in more money for himself when we all lose.
with that said, i'd like to put a few more down on kang and sabertooth. i'm still confident -- even if i know sundevil's sneaky little plan.

Sorry everyone! I had something come up last minute last night and couldn't get to a computer! So here is the result of Match VII...
Sabretooth gets the first shot and tries to blade Joker, figureing he would be easier to hit and, if he MM'ed the damage over to MAgs, well that's damage that may not have hit Magnetos higher D. However, all this thinking makes Toothache's head hurt and he misses...
Joker outwits Kang's Invulnerability but Magneto misses the TimeLord. This was, what we like to call, a turning point. :)
Sabretooth gets it right this time, clawing the Clown Prince for 2, which he stabs Magneto in the back with to preserve his outwit.
Joker outwits Kang's invulnerability but misses. Probably because he loaded his guns with hilarious POW signs instead of actual bullets. D'oh!
Kang moves in and hammers Magneto for 4 big clicks. The Master of Magnetism starts looking for some s#### metal...

Not as bad as that Doomsday massacre but not all that pretty either. :)

This is the V Batman, not the U (he comes up later!) and not the E, although he is better than the V. In my upcoming 128 most expensive figures 1-on-1 tournament (with XP figs!) I will be switching E Batman (and E White Queen for that matter) for their V counterparts. Any other E figures I should put in for the V's in the XP tourney?

What the heck, I'll pick Batman and Dr Strange for the upset.
If I read the rules correctly they both get a +1 defence bonus for Leap/Climb & Phasing so should be tough to hit. If they can get first hit in and slap The Proff for 4 he should be useless for the rest of the battle and they would judt need to worry about Thing which Strange could manage if he doesn't get splattered first!!
