Hi everyone,

My buddies and I are relatively new to Heroclix. We're all interested in entering local tournaments, but how are they necessarily run?

All I've figured out is that Marquee tournaments give the big name LE figures as prizes, but is this information noted anywhere in particular or do we have to ask those who are running the tournament? What about Head to Head and Sealed Box events?

Is the champion of the tournament determined by the number of battles won, say I beat 6 out of my 8 opponents? Or is it based on total points throughout all my battles? Or a combination of the two?

I think that's all my questions for now. Crimson Dynamo and Shadowcat prizes for the Xplosion Marquee right?

Thanks

Go to the Wizkids site http://www.wizkidsgames.com/ and look up torunaments for your area.

They'll have the descriptions for a particular tournament there (whether it's sealed or constructed and the point total).

Then, show up early (like at least 10-15 minutes) and ask the store employee(s) about the particulars of the tournament if it's not obvious. The judge should be there. They'll collect up eveyone who's there to play and basically lead you through the process of getting ready.

The winner is usually based first on record, then by points. So, if you only play two rounds, all the 2-0 people will be the potential winners and the one with the highest score will be the ultimate winner.

This can vary based on what the judge has setup and so you can just ask them if you're curious.

Also, just inform a judge that you're new. They'll be glad to help you along and lead you through the whole thing.
