So as I just got confirmation that the Dr. Manhattan I ordered has shipped I went into the units section to look at his stats and I come away with a question.
His trait allows him to use the multi-attack ability when he's played as part of a force. And his attack special power "Clear the skies" allows him to use Penetrating/Psychic Blast which in turn triggers a free use of Pulse wave that igrnores the halved range rule but can only target flyers, transporter flyers, giants, and colossals.
So here is my question based on the above information would this mean that you could Penetrating/Psychic Blast twice (using the multi-attack rules) and that each of those would in turn trigger a usage of his free Pulse Wave, thus giving you four attacks with multi-attack (2 for Penetrating/Psychic Blast, 2 for his free Pulse Wave)?
CLEAR THE SKIES: Dr. Manhattan can use Penetrating/Psychic Blast. After Dr. Manhattan uses Penetrating/Psychic Blast, he can immediately use Pulse Wave as a free action. When using Pulse Wave as a free action, Dr. Manhattan's range value is not halved, but only characters with any of the following symbols have lines of fire drawn to them: {flight},{flight-transport},{giant},{colossal}
I'd say that yes, that's exactly what it means. Yikes, how are you going to stop this figure? He'll own any figure/team, including Galactus.
my step-son took him on at the tourny yesterday at 600 points and beat him soundly.Granted the guy that played him rushed his force but between double outwit and marvel Aries it was over pretty fast.

Yeah, Outwit is going to cause the Big M a world of grief.
I'm thinking any team I design with Dr M will require a little side-card for Rip Hunter: definitely Manhattan's BFF! ;)

Or just make the Outwit characters a priority target. With his damage and attack values (can't Outwit raw numbers), they won't last very long...

thanks normalview this is what i have been trying to tell everyone. he is a breast i think first galactus is the only piece to date who has a chance against. also guys did you even think of those two.
caim the crowd: after resolving any attack made by dr. manhattan on a target character, place an action token on all other opposing characters adjacent to the target that have zero action tokens.
thats alot of tokens using muti-attack & targeting different targets.
or a muti-attack EE where he has a 16 two target range. splash damage will be crazy. since thats a 1,2,or 3 depending on his dial. so you do the math. he just destroys swarm team, since you don't want to be adjacent to anyone while facing him.

Even Rip Hunter can't stop your opponent from Outwitting Calm the Crowd, Clear the Skies, and Atomic Disassembly. (Your opponent will still need to deal with the standard damage reducers, though.)
