I just wanted to make sure a move I made yesterday was legit. My pal didn't say nothing, but still...I had Bane carrying the 3-d dumpster, adjacdent to my Booster Gold. On his move, he moved in with Catwoman, but too far away for me to throw the dumpster. So on my turn, I told my pal I was cancelling my Super Strength so I'd drop the dumpster, have Booster taxi Bane over to Catwoman. Was that allowed? Turning off powers just so I could do something else?
Only Optional powers can be turned off.
Super Strength is not an Optional power.
Optional powers remain turned off until the end of the current turn.
So, you could not turn off Super Strength.

You cheated dude. In heroclix the ability to pick up something also includes side ability i call Mr. Stickyhands. You cant just drop an object. You can chuck it into a wall to get rid of it, but then you'd have to wait till your next turn to push bane. Now go and say sorry, maybe buy him an icecream cone.

ech, tsannik, you sure SS aint optional? Im looking at my PAC and there's this bold word spelled "optional" in paratheses. Isn't that the (Optional) thingy we re supposed to look out for? So in short, my move was legit.

I want an Ice Cream Cone too!

Ack... you're correct....
But this is in the FAQ under Super Strength:
· If figure with Super Strength is carrying an object, that figure’s Super Strength power is not optional (it cannot be “turned off.”).

####, where s that ####ed FAQ? i m always looking for it, but i dont find it?!? that d have cleared things up, and hey raging_madboy, that doesnt make a person a cheater when HE IS ASKING WHETHER IT IS LEGIT, no? i had to check because it did bug me at first, just picking things up and just dropping it. I can understand dropping it after being Outwitted or losing your SS but, to just drop it on a whim really struck me as odd. I do like your Mr. Stickyfingers analogy, but dont ever call someone a cheater...or YOU'LL feel the WRATH :D
tsannik, pls point me to the FAQs so I can print it out for my life's sake ;-)
The optional part of the PAC was there so the character wasn't forced to pick up the object. Once picked up though, the character cannot put it down without using it or losing it due to damage or Outwit.
Hope this helps.
The newest FAQ can be found on the main Marvel Heroclix website.
which is at:
www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel
There should be a link to the new FAQ on the first page.
There's also the DC FAQ, which is just barely different. It deals with a couple of the DC exclusive powers. I wouldn't print it out, but you might want to cut and paste different items into the other FAQ.

i just printed out the wizkids faq and was struck instantly oddly! listen to this...
under marvel s rules of knockback...this doesnt make sense...
if they stop BEFORE entering a square with a wall, they take 1 click of damage?!?!?
what s up with that? i thought you HAD to crash into a wall to take damage...
It's just their perspective
AB
A and B are squares sharing a wall side. If Cyclops is in B and gets knocked back towards A the wall prevents Cykes from going into square A. In this instance they are saying A is the square with the wall side. It's clumsy and should have been written as you say. The wall itself is what causes the damage.
Why does Bane have to drop the dumpster in order to be carried by Booster? Can't Bane carry the dumpster, While Booster carries Bane? My friend and I are newbies at this still so any clarification will help.
Check the rulebook in the carrying section and you'll find that a character cannot carry another character who is also holding an object. The carrying character can, however, carry a character AND an object but not a character who is holding an object.
Hope this helps.

If a flyer has SS, then he can carry an object and carry a passenger at the same time.
A flyer with SS cannot carry a passenger who is carrying an object.
