I'm still under the impression that snipers should've taken the shot when the guy was waving at the cameras. But that aside, they shouldn't have aired his family being arrested. That precipitated the bloodbath that soon followed.
It was bad enough that there was a hostage situation to begin with, but for them to further aggravate things was uncalled for.

Well just my opinion yung iba kasi nakikita lang yung pinaglalaban nya which is yun nga his job and dignity pero ang problem kasi hindi tini take in consideration yung nararamdaman mismo nung mga hinostage. Kunwari isa sa atin yung na hostage maiintindihan ba natin yung pinaglalaban nung nang hostage lalo na kung may hawak na baril at pagbabarilin tayo or ang tagal natin sa bus na naghihintay nang magiging kapalaran natin well i don't think so. The fact na gumamit sya nang inosenteng tao para sa sariling nyang interest ay MALI dapat nag hanap pa sya nang ibang peaceful means sa problema nya. Dapat hinostage na lang nya yung
nagtangal sa kanya sa pwesto hahaha.(joke)

That reason is as valid as a parent explaining why his kid is naughty by saying "bata lang yan eh..." it's not an excuse. There are more things involved than just the media and the filipino way of being "tsismoso". There was no clear leadership at all.
Apparently our government never changes. :ermm:
it took him 2 years to appeal his case by all legal means and still he was ignored, the guy was not some rich crooked cop he could not afford a good lawyer more or less afford an average one. Tama his actions are wrong but it was actions of a desperate man in desperate need ignored by our very own system, bottom line? we need to change

...in fairness to the guy, nag so sorry pa raw siya sa mga hostages before the shooting started. He treated the nationals well din naman says sa tweeter ng isang survivor tapos he assured them na it will be over soon and they wlso aill be on their way to their native land by nightfall (he also told them na pls forget this unfortunate incident once they got home sana)..and it was not until the media televised his brothers arrest that the guy snapped and started shooting randomly. There were tons of mistakes seen in this gruelling incident (from the leaders to the media - and even the students who took pictures smiling in front of the bus) , it brought out the monsters we face in our countrys systems and society.
Mababait ang mga pinoy,magalang, hospitable,all smiles, matiisin that even jacky chan came to our rescue in his twitter accout so his people will not condemn us too much...but with these good traits come also some bad nature that we must not neglect. Lahat tayo nagkamali dito..we just have to admit it....fortunately its never too late for all of us to change.:a-duo:

Isipin nyo na lang most of those involved had screwed up...It's hard being a cop specially under those circumstances but hey, they did what they could with what they have. the only thing they didn't manage to do well is to keep off the media as far away as possible para naman di makita ni Mendoza lahat ng ginagawa ng mga police...it was a free movie for the hostage taker. Far as am concerned they were part of the problem...blood is on their hands but I doubt they'll admit it.
And now we saw how far beehind we are in terms of equipment and advance tech for our police force siguro (sana) this would serve as a leverage para ma-improve ang ating kapulisan (sama na rin ang army, air-force at navy).
Prayer for the souls of the victims.

Yeah, so that's Norman, Iron Patriot, Noh-Varr, Bullseye, Daken (1 & 2), and Venom. I just don't like the bullseye fig NOT having the hawkeye head.
And i probably would skip the spidermen, they're uniques, too, so you couldn't run more than one. :)
From the player's guide:
POLICE
When a friendly character making a ranged combat attack is adjacent to one or more characters using the Police team ability, each opposing character targeted by the attacker modifies its defense value by -1 for each character using the Police team ability if the characters using the Police team ability also have a clear line of fire to the target.
HYDRA

i am surprised there is a Philippine section in this forum
anyway i am a spider-man fan who reads comics and collects various stuff like toys
well i have a few heroclix for my spider-man collection, mostly villains cause i couldnt find spider-man variants(iron sm, armor sm etc) in the toy stores
but since the wos announcement...i am planning to get a brick next week. I bought some booster packs already.
hopefully i get most in my list from the brick and maybe try to complete my spider-man collection from the past waves here through this forum
glad to be here...looks like there are still a lot of hc collectors in the philippines...

When the regulars here go to toycon or comic con they're usually at different places in the convention. Some of the players are sculptors or comic writers, so you may find them at the booth where their products are displayed, and not necessarily a dedicated heroclix booth.
But anyway, the easiest way to find the players - who you can trade with - is to visit neutral Grounds at Robinson's Galeria or at Alabang Town Center. There are tournaments on Saturdays at both venues at 1 pm (tama ba cons?). You can check for the tourney sched at the ATC tournaments thread or the galeria tournaments thread in this forum.

Yup, clix is very much alive these days specially with the return of it from the Hammer of Thor onwards.
Alhough it has never lost its Philippine fan followings even through its dark "dead" days...having had regular tourneys once or twice a week.
Schedules on Wednesdays are a Glorietta 2pm onwards and on Saturdays in both ATC and Galeria around the same time.

Actually a colossal na onslaught would not be bad, or Nimrod for that matter. Also muhkang limited lang yung giant sized booster pack so muhkang magkakalaban kung gusto macompleto lahat (blind pa, yikes!) also kung di unique so madrox, gusto ko ng tatlo at least hehe

The Colossal boosters won't necessarily have colossal figures in them... It's either a colossal figure plus unique items or a COMPLETE team... Hmmm... speculations begin...

gumamit ako ng Legion of Doom team with JL Lex and Toyman tska AA Black Manta na 279pts lng.. hahaha 1-2 ako pero ansaya ng mga laro. Nakalimutan ko mgdala ng bystanders.
Walang map choice tlga.. me apat na maps lng dun na galing sa tindahan. Wala maxadong ngtheme team. Ang nanalo gumamit ng dr manhatan tska amazon. Sinabi na nya bago mgstart na papatay lang siya ng isa tapos tatakbo na the whole match. hahaha.. at least aminado siyang kupal siya.

Likely. But the white lantern special object will be so heavy you can't carry it, unless it's infected a little. :D

hehe kanya kanyang diskarte nalang cguro yan sa tindahan, ang difference lang e sa kanila mura kumuha ng prize support, unlike dito na pinapadala pa mula sa WK. well considering isang box ng prixe support dito mura nalang at sure naman na dumadating mga LE. ang hirap din kasi sa asia tyo nalang dito sa pinas ang may active at malaking community ng heroclix kaya medyo nakaka hassle cguro para sa wk na mag asikaso pa satin dito e mas madami silang customer sa US at sa europe

At the very least they corrected what was WRONG with BN Starter. Keyword. The Starter set lacked the keyword to play the set as a theme (unlike previous starter sets). So they put in a slightly eye raising keyword (Brightest Day) just to make the set themed.
At any rate here's my take on the set
Hawkgirl: Her stats are decent enough as is to play with BUT the trait is AWESOME. She become 12AV/4D vs other flyers. I dont think I've seen a completely grounded team ... EVER
Osiris: Osiris isnt BAD, BUT I don't think people would play this much. Simply because the 4 damage isn't aligned with the HSS.
Aquaman: I'm disappointed simply because Namor is such a BAD A$$ in the marvel set. The TRAIT and WP is so LIMITED. Sigh. Sorry I'm an Aquaphile.

Firestorm: I like the WP and Trait, unfortunately like Osiris the powers are misaligned. His RS doesnt come til his AV drops. What's with that??
Deadman: Probably the BEST of this set. BUT I cant see this POWERS when I was reading the comic book EXCEPT summon the white.
Capt Boom: No Comment til someone explains that WORDY WP.
Martian Manhunter: This is actually GOOD, but the TBTB version is the STANDARD for Jonzz now.

Deadman Support did happen in the brightest day comics. TK is a lantern thing so honestly I'm not surprised. I'm not liking Osiris and Martian though. Si Hawkgirl though is a must for warrior themes. Her w/ a red lantern against a flyer makes for 12 attack and 6 damage (carrying the object of course.)

I think the BN starter is BETTER. Lack of theme (especially generic) is preventing it from being played

@ ecchs- my vote goes to the BN starter, kahit hinde sila themed ung individual pieces nila are more powerful and cost effective my favorite on the set is wonder woman sobrang sulit for 215pts, not to mention atom (super healer) and mera, scarecrow is actually good for a sinestro corp team. ung B day starter parang ok sa mga theme team pero individually hinde sila sin ganda o flashy ng BN starter

WW is my favorite too. malaking tulong sa Amazon theme ko. have the BN starter set finally for free (TY to my brotha!) as for the others, since im more of a keyword-themey guy, don't have figs to go with them yet. probably when DC 75 comes along.

Nightcrawler isn't supposed to be a main hitter, but he's not just a support piece either. You use him to kidnap your opponent's forces bit by bit (Unless this is what you mean by support of course). He actually works well with a bunch of Amazons. He brings the prey, they bring the pain. (diba javey? :) )
He also does pretty okay with Wolverine in tow.
He's far from being cheesy though. I honestly don't get why they think he's broken. Useful, yes, broken definitely not. Siguro iba lang talaga tayo mag-isip sa kanila. :laugh:
Bullseye though is a major pain to deal with. He pretty much nerfs the advantage the average speedsters get. To ignore Senses and shapechange makes him very deadly.

Si Parallax, people always think he's a terrible figure. Same goes Nekron. Parallax is powerful in his own right, heck that's one figure I know can take down BL Martian Manhunter AND Black hand (Diba Charles ;) ). Si Nekron naman is a finesse piece but definitely not trash.

Xplosion didn't have cards. Only sets from the LOSH starter and up had character cards. Anything from Supernova and Origins below have nadda.

Not my cup of tea...The crimson avenger on the other hand though is a dial that I want, but talk about a fugly sculpt.... Me curious opening move yung Doom sa tank map. Nilagay nya sa gilig ng tank at second sila db gawa ng theme bonus namin. Needless to say bagsak si doom sa second rd combo nila victor mancha and my armor peeps. Theme probs played a key role sa deciding move na yun kasi 7 to hit siya sa psychic blast ni victor so gnamit nya yata yung 2 theme prob nya para mghit.

I can't believe it... Sgt. Rock is a better leader for Soldier teams than Captain America! Heck, the IC/Universe Captain Americas get great boosts from "The Rock of Easy Company" with the Defend and Willpower. Bring out your Blackhawks, Kree, Shi'ar, and old Easy Company figs and build an "Army Men" theme! :)
