View Full Version : Spectre scenario question
Running this and had a question I didn't see answered.
The Angry Spirits have poison. But they also don't have turns. When does their poison activate? Do they use it as one of their actions when they attack at the end of turns?
They would never have a beginning of turn to use Poison.
Gah, balls. Why give them poison then? Just to taunt you?
Yeah, that was sorta my question too. Why do they have poison if they can never use it (this scenario is the only time they're ever around).
I had assumed it was there *because* they could use it even though I couldn't figure out how.

Why was the Zombie Spider-Man chase given EE when he has no range?
Stuff just happens sometimes...
From 'The Spectre Scenario: Day Of Vengeance':
.....'In addition, after all players have completed their actions for a turn, each Angry Spirit on the battlefield acts as a free action (including any Angry Spirits placed on the battlefield after all players completed their actions for the turn). One player chooses and resolves the actions that all Angry Spirits take during a turn........Angry Spirits always use any powers showing on the Angry Spirit dial to their greatest advantage......'
Would that not cover it?

Except Poison explicitly says "At the beginning of your turn". Which was the reason why I was asking in the first place.

Granted, they usually errata this sh--tuff. Like Cosmic Thor.

Nah, clearly they just wanted you to work harder to use it. could you not perplex up a zero range to a 2 or something? This has never occurred to me before, but I can't think of why not?

In Spider-Man's specific case, yes, that would work.
But that's not exactly the most intuitive use of EE, now is it?

Perhaps we all missed this part:
'One player chooses and resolves the actions that all Angry Spirits take during a turn......'
So, is that not their turn? Ergo, they use the Poison on their turn? Where they can act as a free action?

Eh, he's a zombie. He'd probably not think to ranged attack even if he could. In this case I decide that it is flavor.
Zombie Spidey walks in and starts running at innocent munchies, when a bunch of hookers show up and say, "hey spidey, what about your shotgun?"
Maybe poisonous Angry Spirits are just SO angry that they forget to be virulent?

If we're talking about the Thor I think we are (Supernova 224), the problem was Battle Fury which, like szude said, was errataed away.

That's not their turn, though.

The Spectre scenario does have that weird moment where actions happen, but it is no one's turn.
From the Spectre Rules:
In addition, after all players have completed their actions for a turn, each Angry Spirit on the battlefield acts as a free action (including any Angry Spirits placed on the battlefield after all players completed their actions for the turn). One player chooses and resolves the actions that all Angry Spirits take during a turn, beginning with the last player to take an action during the scenario’s first turn, and then moving clockwise around the table to other players in subsequent turns.
During that time, it is not any player's turn, but it also doesn't say it is the Spectre's turn or the Angry Spirits' turn. Of course, we could always hope that a small errata is issued making that the Angry Spirts' turn in which case they could use their Poison.
