Mind Control and Mastermind

I understand that Mastermind only transfers *damage*, so that a Mind Control, per se, is not transferable. Fine. My question is, if the Mind Controller rolls 12 - the rule states that does one click of damage (and knockback) along with the successful Mind Control, to be applied before the Mind Controlled figure can take its Mind Controlled action. Fine. But if the figure being Mind Controlled in such a situation has Mastermind, can he pass the one click of damage from the 12 off, or must he suffer it?

He can pass it off, as it is normal targeted attack damage. The Lackey will take the click of damage and knockback, and of course the Masterminder is still the one MCed.
