Hi All,
I'm a casual player, and I haven't really tried using theme teams before. I've got a "scientist" theme team going, and I'm hoping for some suggestions on figures and feats to round it out.

The build is 500 points, and so far I have:

SI Mr. Fantastic 100 pts
SI Spider Man 50 pts
Av Black Panther 92 pts
SI Tarantula 51 pts
MM Iron Man 100 pts

My current total is 393 points. I feel like I've got a good thing going with the Tarantula for tie up, Black Panther for a 1st string attacker, and Iron Man from range. I'm wondering if I need more support (OW, Perplex, PC) or if bringing on additional attackers is the right way to go.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Outwit is always good, but both Panther and Mr Fantastic get it later. Myself, I feel that Panther is alittle over cost for what he does, but again, thats just me and I have friends who rave about him so... Its your choice. Leave it as is or trade panther out for some upfront outwit. Thats the only thing that might make this better and still keep the basic team.

I personally would switch to the SI Iron Man for 188pts. Starts with outwit and perplex, and if he doesn't use outwit he gains super senses for the turn.

I'm kinda torn on Panther too. He doesn't stand up to more serious bruisers, but with Mr. F's +2 perplex, he can run a 13 AV over go 4 damage. I can't play the 188 pt. Stark cause I don't have him. I'm also hoping to round out with six or seven figures.

Thanks for the feedback.

What you need is a dedicated Probability Controller.

I'm a little worried about the lack of a dedicated close combat attacker.
Spider-man is great, but he doesn't last forever.
Some TK and/or PC would be helpful too.

What other Scientists do you have?

I think you should put Brilliant tactician on Reed. I don't usually run scientist teams but I'm a fan of MU Beast and MU zombie Giant-man. Beast is another Candidate for BT if you shuffle around your team a little bit. AV Stingray is a good filler piece for scientist teams. He's only 29 pts and after some perplex is not have bad. If use him as a meat shield in hindering he has a 19 defense against range.

I also have a double of the SI Iron man if you want to trade.

Tarantula is a pretty awesome close combat piece TBF.

The suggestions have really got me thinking about incorporating a better up-front attacker and some TK or Prob. I threw in some other small guys too for tie-up and to run interference for Iron Man.

After looking at the suggestions, here's a modified line up.

SI Mr. Fantastic 100 pts
SI Spider Man 50 pts
SI Tarantula 51 pts
MM Iron Man 100 pts
AV Captain Britain 119 pts
MM Marvel Girl 40pts

Total 460 pts.

That leaves me room for feats, or I could throw on some tie-up, like Stingray or Multiplex. I have AV Scarlet Witch too, who could come on for Prob Control (as I'm fine on the keyword requirement to get the theme bonus).

Thanks for all the input.

For a theme team all figures (bystanders excluded I believe) need the keyword or you lose the theme.
