so i got a brick of 75th for xmas got a great pull i got almost a full CUR set missing 2 uc and 6 rares but got hardley any dupes and got 5 really good super rares so that plus the 1 extra pack that i bought brings me to

so overall pretty happy with the pull and i got most of the figs that i wanted already so im very pleased with the brick :laugh:

1)Yes the Comedian and Silk Spectre combo would be fine.
2)Silver Age for LSOM is a s follows:
*Figures= Modern Age
*ALL cardboard and Special Objects= All feats, All ATA's, All Bystander Tokens and All 3-D and special objects.

As you pointed out, too expensive. So no Odin/Thor either.
EDIT: upon further review the following would be legal
Giant Man (AV #38)/ Ultron (HoT #49) is 256 pts. leaving 44 pts. to finish out your team.
NOTE: Nova Blast is still Banned at LSOM.

Upon really reviewing Charles's tournament scenario, I really like it. It would be nice for the younger players to get an opportunity to see and play with some older figs. Spreading the talent in a "themed" environment nearly requires the field to be Golden Age. My first reaction was to try to help protect newer players from some older stuff, but after really taking a look at dials there is no definitive advantage. I wanna win just like anyone else, but tourneys like this are still fun and unpredictable. I'd love to see some old mixed in with the new.

My message to the new guys is that we've been real good to you. Don't feel like you don't have a real shot at winning this upcoming event. Pasky Top 4ed most recently. Austin has Top 4ed as well. There is a Units Section right here on the Realms and the guy running the tourney already said he'd loan you any fig ya want. If you build really good teams, then you have nothing to worry about. Have faith in yourselves and half the battle is won.

Learn a lesson from this last tournament. Look at what Dustin won with. His philosophy was to play what he wanted regardless of the environment. It worked. If your teams are well built, you always have a puncher's chance. Make sure they are built with a specific strategy in mind. Crawler ain't scary on a 600 pt X-Men Team. Yes you can see some figs from the Golden Age that you've never played against, but remember the six P's: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Most importantly, all us old heads should remember to not try to break Charles's comic intention for the scenario. Think Splash Page and let's have fun kicking each others azzes for a few hours.

Btw, it would be nice to see some more of the experienced players participate in the big events. Unsung, I'm sorry I couldn't come to the Watchmen event you had. (Scheduling Confilct aka Sex Life lol) I miss playing you guys, and it would be fun to reunite. Just envision 25-30 players at one tourney having fun rolling dice. Think of how different the team builds would be! Oh the possibilities... Maybe I'm gettin too nostalgic. Miss you guys!

Dream Girl has just tested positive for Human Growth Hormone. Pls approach this fig with caution... She has the propensity to delivery crit hits on unsuspecting victims with toughness that engage her in close combat. She was allegedly so hopped up on what the kids these days call "The Juice" that no fig on Eric's team could hit her. A demoralized and injured Solavar had this to say...

"Man, I really took her lightly. I mean she hits for one and I'm the King of Gorilla City. She caught me cold man."

A ko'ed Johnny Quick (who also took a nasty crit hit) could not be reached for comment.

Btw, nice game Dumbo! Had a lot of fun

Nope. Just plenty of "heads up" so I can plan appropriately. That's it.

Although....if you want plenty of "X-Men/Crawler" teams....wait for Giant Size X-Men.

Personally I want to run Stryfe myself.

1.) I hadn't even thought of it. Perhaps. I know I want another for the sake of having two. But then again, if I keep him on Zzaxx...I can run two Larfleeze and have it legal.

As of this point, he's my only Larfleeze and he rocks! Took out a SN Thanos in one tourney! :)

I'll let you know.

2.) Don't. Just too many things to juggle with plenty of lead time that doesn't even guarantee I'll make it when I think I can.

An FYI to everyone. Cosmic Comics moved some of their Heroclix to their 50% off shelf. They put the Jonah Hex and Iron Man (3 figure) Action Packs on discount. $4 for a Lilah or Ultimate Nick Fury or Ultimate Black Widow.

Ok so looking at some of the dials I have some questions:

Why is captain comet 144? Mc and incap must be expensive.

Animal mans sp makes an opponent reroll on your turn so It only works On super senses and imperv and shape change?

Why is sr batman so easy to break...:cry:

Also congrats to the Seahawks for making the playoffs with a 7-9 record good ol NFC west. Do I see a supper bowl win in there future ? (no that's not a typo).

Much like a certain poster on this thread's team *cough* Buccaneers *cough*, this was a rebuilding year. Seahawks exceeded my expectations.

The NFC West will be much more competitive next year.

And point of fact: The Cardinals and Browns beat the Saints this year. Why not Seattle? (this is a rhetorical question- please don't "prove") :laugh:

A head's up to everyone. This coming Friday is the 1st tourney of the year at Battlezone. 2 Booster Draft for a White Lantern Object. I'm guest judging for Tyler who is out of town serving his 1 weekend a month. So that means it's starting on time at 6:30pm. Don't stroll in at 7:05 and think you'll be playing in the 1st round.

Then Sunday is 400pt Floor at Comic Oasis. Prize is one of the LE figures, whichever the 1st one is.

My current thoughts:

1) Its going to be SILVER AGE -- Everything with a feat card (LOSH+) is legal. [Changed due to concerns over Golden age figures]. No Colossals.

2) Since you can print and play, every bystander and object is legal. I mean EVERY bystander and object. This includes that turkey and even Stormbreaker. Because its just cool.

3) Its still going to be 600 points. Must be a specific theme team. (Avengers/JLA). [NOT Gotham City or Martial Artist]. Due to stupidity of lack of keywords, all of the minutemen/watchmen hero figures can be played together. Because they still suck, you WILL get the bonus for them.

4) Same universe (marvel/DC) villains get to play together w/o the bonus.

5) May be 6 actions, might be 3. Still unsure.

6) Build 6 different teams. [U]Highlander applies except for generics, which can only be multiples on ONE team. [i.e. as many Hand ninjas as you can fit on a "hand" team, Gotham police/detectives on a "police" team.]

7) Winner gets choice of a White Lantern or the Retail Dr. Manhattan. Battle Royal winner gets the other. Fellowship winner drives with Roland to Taco Bell.

8) No feats. No BFC. No KFC.

I really want to try that Alan Scott out, looks decent for the points even if he is lacking just slightly in attack value.

I dislike excluding stuff. So rather than exclude things I think are unfair (i.e. SIF), I prefer to let everything in. If you have to pay 5 points for a lantern...well then you paid 5 points for it. I dont care if its 3D or not.

I have all the objects anyway, and many multiples. The other solution is just to lend mine out (which I would do anyway).

So really, people arent gaining anything by using the 2d. They would just be borrowing mine.

Now shut up and make plans to be here. :laugh:

Great turnout at Oasis today. Thanks to everyone who showed. Alot of quality, close games were played. Much varity for a Floor tourney. Nice to see so many different figures being fielded. And as always plenty of trading was had after the tourney.

Jeff was kind enough to throw in an extra prize today for having 8 players in attendence. Every time we can draw 8 or more, the more prizes that will be given out. ;)

FYI, there will not be a tourney at Oasis on 1/30. They are hosting a Magic Pre-Release. The scheduled has been updated. When SHIELD001 gets the PM he will update the Vegas Tournament thread. The prizes that will be handed out every week have been added. Including a week when Gleek + the Bucket of Water will be handed out as one prize. :o

A special mention of Austin who has "stepped his game up" at the beginning of the year and making a run for the World HeroClix Chapionship Belt! Full details of how you can win the belt coming soon. The 1st WHC Champ of '11 will be announced at the end of the month.

And keep your ears open for something new this year set to debut on FCBD Weekend. The World HeroClix Tag Team Championships!!!

More discussion about the tournament...

Lucky has felt that at 600 points, the potential of the chase supermen might be too much for people to handle. The feeling from most everybody else has been "bring it". I'm quite proud of all of you!

Nevertheless, I want to hear from everyone.

Should there be a limit of 300 point figs for the tournament? This eliminates prime and e-2 (but not KC, who I actually thought was the most dangerous). Cosmic Spidey is already out due to keyword requirement.

I hate chase figurers , and supes(both) in particular because they are powerful chase figures and the best versions of supes ever made but you have to be stupid lucky or willing to drop $100ish dollars to get either of them. [/rant]

I say leave him in the environment. Prime and Supes are the only 2 figs this requirement would axe, and while they are both punishing figures. I think it has been proven that they often do not dish out their costs' worth of damage in the post-feat era.

As it is, I think we're getting way to complicated with requirements on this tournament. I think a simple theme/premise should be set down and followed.

600 points theme team. No further need for people to look for lists and exceptions online: go.

I think we are getting real close now. Changes/clarifications underlined.

1) SILVER AGE -- Everything with a feat card (LOSH+) is legal. No Colossals. [Supes/Bats and Thor's chariot are NOT colossal figs. But you only have 100 xtra points...]

2) Print and Play, every bystander and object is legal. That's EVERY bystander and object.

3) 600 points. Must be a specific theme team. (Full list provided). Due to stupidity of lack of keywords, all of the minutemen/watchmen hero figures can be played together. (with bonus).

4) Villains Have two chances to be themed. The first is to make the provided keyword list and/or share a villain ATA (like Monster society of evil). Secondly As long as you have another villain who shares a team symbol, you can add a second member without the keyword onto the keyword team.

EXAMPLE: 259 AN056 Doomsday has the Superman Enemy TA. You can use him to join a villain keyword team as long as you had another villain with the Supes enemy TA on it.

*Added to allow for some villain-specific chase supes counters...besides another supes.

5) 6 actions.

6) Build 6 different teams. Highlander applies except for generics, which can only be multiples on ONE team. [i.e. as many Hand ninjas as you can fit on a "hand" team, Gotham police/detectives on a "police" team.]

7) Winner gets choice of a White Lantern or the Retail Dr. Manhattan. Battle Royal winner gets the other. Fellowship winner drives with Roland to Taco Bell.

8) No feats. No BFC. No KFC.

That is pretty cool. Considering most of them are close combat and have the Suicide Squad TA. Now when they get KOed, your figs heal, and your opponent is taking damage.

Good addition to a mercenary team. :)

It means have fun trying out the new set.

The main figure may not come from 75th because there's only 8 figs in the set that are 200+pts. All are Rare level or above. But there's plenty of points left to try out some of the Green Lanterns, or the Superman, or combo the figs like Ragdoll & Parademon.

The 200+ stipulation does prevent someone from going WL Flash, WL Green Arrow, Alan Scott, Support Powers, I'm a douche.

Tried out Larfleeze tonight at LSoM. Man, he is fun. I don't know if he'd work as well without the feats, but he tore some stuff up. And Sargon was his best friend, for sure, teleporting constructs around the map.

We're just trying to keep it comic accurate, Roland.
He should get +3 damage that ignores reducers and super senses against wolvie as a trait. Also, should be able to use any figure named Colossus as a heavy object to attack people with.

** Noseless wolverine is immune to this trait.

I like this. Maybe a tweak or so...

:a-fist: Rip him up ! : Give Magneto a power action to use incap. If the target of the incap is Wolverine, the character gets two action tokens and loses all powers and abilities for 5 turns. Feel free to cut the opponents figure in half to represent this condition.

:g-starburst: Take this Fanboys ! : Magneto gets +3 to damage when attacking characters named Wolverine, Colonel Logan, X-23, Daken, or any fanboy representation of such.

Wife is getting better so I was able to play today:

700 pts Unrestricted "SnowBlind" -Think Shock the Turtle with 1/2 movement and take a token if caught in the "IceStorm".

That's right. Gave some new pieces a spin and let me tell you....that WL FLash is DANGEROUS! Mongul was as good as I thought he'd be. And Scar.....man alive was she fun.

Either way, 5 man battle royale. Ended up winning and KO'ing the most characters. A lot of fun. Other teams were 1.) WL team w/ Hal, Ollie, Flash, Donna, and Deadman w/feats 2 & 3.) 2 x LoSH teams using the new Dual TA Superboy. 4.) Violet Lantern Corps

If you get the chance, pick up that WL Flash. Fantastic piece. Just deadly.

I think that's only to trigger his Flurry power.

The trait's txt is "{GSX set symbol} Jamie Madrox". Might be a shorthandded (and confusing way) to mean add Jamie Madrox from GSX set w/ set #xx. Kinda like the AEs or Battlefield promotions. Just trying to save on txt and make it harder to understand per usual.

But then again, you never know how they will interpert these things.

the place: tyler's house.
the game: MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2
the competitors....: who other than the illustrious daemen and the questionably insane austin?!?!!?
so it started simple, but little did they know their friendship would change forever.....
THE MATCH UP: on daemen's side, Ryu, Wolverine, and mega man.
on austin's side: captain america, thanos, and some other cheese piece.
it seemed even until daemens ranks stooped to one crippled mega man, but dont worry, austin only had cap and thanos left.... i felt defeated until by a strange course of events, megaman murders thanos.... two down one to go.... both side's health bars were dangerously low.... to finish the match, austin decided to use his special shield throw..... out of sheer instinct daemen pushes the command to use his special.... cap throws his shield...... mega man transforms just in time!!!!! cap's shield flies away as a beam of pure energy pierces cap's armor and leaves him defeated....
a quick look to the health bar shows that, yes MEGA MAN WON!!!!!! how's that for a national inspiration?????

I will get another job, I worked there for 5 years and it was my first job. I was getting burntout so life decided to force me to change jobs.

GSX: I missed the thread where this came out, but it seems that it was confirmed that the duos and team figs were moved out of the big boosters. The bigs only have colossals now. I'm assuming the weight difference maybe made the team boosters too easy to cherry pick/avoid. Anyway, that decision was made AFTER the main poster was printed, so expect to see some X-men duos litter the boosters too.

Aside from the repack issue, a very good day for clix at Oasis.

6 players showed up for the draft and everyone walked away with something. It marked the return of Tim to the Vegas clix scene and he didn't disappoint with a 2-1 and 2nd place showing.

Paul won before the tourney even started by pulling a WL Superboy & SR Batman from his packs. Austin also grabbed an SR T-Rex, and Eric pulled an SR Black Manta (we drafted 1 booster of 75th & 1 of anything else).

The 3 rounds went by so quickly decided to have a 600pt 4-man battle royal to determine the other 2 prizes. 1 prize to winner of the battle royal and 1 to the first eliminated. The game was played on 2 Hawkworld maps connected together.

Eric emerged victorious in the battle royal and Nick earned himself an extra fellowship prize of a Bucket of Water SO for playing a helluva game. And double-crossing Austin in the process. :speechles

Nominee for Heel Move of the Year:
Paul proved today there is more than one way to win a prize. After 4 rounds of play Nick & Austin were engaged with each other on one side of the map while Eric & Paul were engaged on the opposite side. Superboy had just gotten jacked by Eric and was on LIVE. So in true Eddie Guererro fashion he did the only thing he could do. He consecutivly pushed all of his grounded figs to walk into "Open Air" and intentionally started taking clicks of damge. Then he based Eric's team with Superboy.

His team lasted one more round before they were all KOed. :knockedou

Appropriatly he won a Gleek & Bucket of Water for pulling of "The Paul Maneuver". :cool:

He might be a bit much, but he's hard enough to kill, and I think worth the points. 95 points, L/C into adjacency, 19 Defense with SS against his opponent, outwitting his opponents Defense for 3 damage straight through.

There might be better figs, but he's certainly no slouch.

Mr. Terrific might be better cuz of his trait, tho. Still, not a bad option. TAs make for a varied number of uses, all said.

ICv2 caught up with Justin Ziran, Vice President of Brand Marketing at WizKids, to talk about the company’s first full year since its acquisition by NECA in 2009 and its plans for 2011.

It’s been a little over a year since the NECA acquisition and the re-launch of HeroClix.#How do you evaluate 2010 in terms of the response to your products?#What were your top sellers?
2010 was a busy year for us at WizKids; the response to the re-launch of HeroClix was incredible.#Each product we released (Hammer of Thor, The Brave and the Bold, Web of Spider-Man and DC 75th Anniversary) exceeded our expectations with each one showing nice signs of growth over the previous set.

DC 75th gets my vote as a Top Seller – the sales velocity of the set was very fast and it was a nice way to end the year.
#
We made a lot of progress in 2010 because we had a strict focus on filling the product pipeline.#In 2011 we'll add a few more goals, namely, expanding into new categories and building out in-store programs.
#
What do your Marvel and DC releases look like for 2011—will you be able to do anything to tie in with the interest in particular characters related to the movies?
We've announced Giant Sized X-Men, our March 2011 release, and we'll have releases tied to the Green Lantern movie as well as a HeroClix release themed around Captain America.#As far as the back half of the year goes, we'll make those announcements as soon as our concepts are approved and have some meat around them.

In early 2010, you announced that you were producing the HeroClix Marvel and DC Classics line for mass retailers.#How was the response to that line, and what did it tell you about the HeroClix customer?
The response was good and it allowed us to reach a consumer that doesn't ordinarily buy HeroClix.## We’re always looking to improve our offering and as such, we'll be tweaking the Classics line throughout 2011.

WizKids is producing board games both using HeroClix and without.#What will we see in 2011 in both kinds of board games?
Star Trek Expeditions by Reiner Knizia is going to be the first game out of the gate.#Set in the universe J.J. Abrams brought to life in the 2009 Star Trek theatrical release, Star Trek Expeditions is a co-op game for one to four people featuring a unique branching mission system that delivers a high level of re-playability.#The game features six pre-painted miniatures on Clix bases (Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and Dr. McCoy, The Enterprise and a Klingon Battle Cruiser).#The release date is June 2011.

Star Trek Expeditions includes:
6 highly detailed, painted HeroClix miniatures
1 game board (23" x 24")
14 Stardate cards

Star Trek Star Fleet Battles by Mike Elliott and Ethan Pasternak will also release in 2011.#The game features over 20 ships and plays on an almost infinitely customizable hex based board system that players build from their collection of hex board pieces.#The game will be sold in non-blind format and it will release in the back half of 2011.

Quarriors, a dice building game by Mike Elliott and Eric Lang, is a unique take on the deck building games that have become so popular lately.#In Quarriors, a dice rolling system replaces card playing and results in a fast, fun, always unique gaming experience.#The game features 130 custom dice, 53 cards and 4 dice bags.

We’re excited about the game because the entire office was taken by this “new format.”#We spent many a late night rolling dice with each other and new players.#Really fun stuff!
#
Lord of the Rings will also get a board game later this year.#In a fun, new twist for the property, players get to play as the Nazgul working with and against other Nazgul trying to capture the One Ring before it reaches Mount Doom.#The game will feature pre-painted miniatures and game play will be driven by story elements the Lord of the Rings fans have come expect.

We're also planning a board game release at Essen this year.#The game, by Vlada Chvatil, is a Euro-style strategy board game set in the Mage Knight world.

Will there be Star Trek HeroClix in a Starter/Booster format in 2011?
No, not at this time.## Star Trek Expeditions is sold as a boxed game and Star Trek Star Fleet Battles will be sold in non-blind formats as I mentioned earlier.

WizKids released Halo ActionClix in 2010.#Will there be other videogame ActionClix in 2011?
Yes, however, we're not ready to announce the property at this time.#What I can say is that the game/property will be 100% HeroClix compatible.
#
What plans does WizKids have to extend its brands online in 2011?
We're aggressively moving into the online space and we're well into development on a new HeroClix Online platform that will allow players from around the world to play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.#The game is currently in testing and will release in 2011.#The platform is targeted at players that are either (1) too busy with life (kids, jobs and family) to attend an in-store event, or (2) don't have a store within driving distance.

Like other online ports of table top games, we believe that HeroClix Online will actually enhance the brand experience and bring back lapsed (or soon to be lapsed) players back into the fold.#
#
We’ll be releasing screen shots and more information shortly.#I’ll make sure ICV2 is at the top of my distribution list.

WizKids announced its in-store Organized Play for GSX.#What can retailers expect to see in 2011 as far as future OP?
By design, each of our HeroClix releases to date has been supported with an OP kit that gives retailers options with regard to how and when to run their events.#We believe the retailers have a better idea of how to tailor a program that works best in their stores and for their customers.#
#
However, we also realize the benefit of a more structured OP program and have begun testing of our in-store system, code named DaVinci, and plan a larger scale rollout later this year.#The system will allow stores to schedule events, manage in store gaming and track ratings, ranking and achievements (all of which will be tied back to our store locator hosted on our Website).

WizKids also announced the return of its Brick promotion, in an altered form, in 2011.#Do you expect to continue that type of promotion for other Clix releases in 2011?
Traditionally, the Buy it By the Brick program has been a mail away incentive program for consumers who buy 10 boosters (a HeroClix Brick) at a brick and mortar retail location.#We're trying an in-store distribution model for the Giant Sized X-Men brick figure.#We're not married to one distribution model over the other.## In the end, we want to provide the best value to the retailer and consumer and will adjust our program as necessary.

What can you tell us about WizKids’ Zero to Hero program for 2011?
Zero to Hero started out as an experiment to test an idea we had.#We asked ourselves - What if we (WKs) took a high involvement approach to developing a store into a HeroClix store?#We set about testing this idea with a local store, A Little Shop of Comics, in Scotch Plains, NJ.#We met with the owners, formulated a plan to drive customers to a "learn to play event" and then followed up with weekly Organized Play events.## WizKids took an active role in developing material for the store, having it produced and helping with whatever and where ever we could - always remembering to assist the store rather than mandate a course of action.

The program worked REALLY well - the store went from zero players playing HeroClix to a weekly event with an average of 10 people participating on any given week.#We continue to work with the store to drive attendance and increase new player acquisition.#
#
The program is still in the "pilot" stages and we're working with our next group of stores to see if we can drive a similar level of interest.#Of course, each store is different and we're trying different ideas to see what works best.#After phase two, we'll solidify our best practices and take a bigger bite with a larger number of stores.

Once again, the program is rooted in the belief that the "store knows best."#WizKids’ role in that equation is to provide great product, support, advice (when needed) and design/marketing resources as required.
#
It looks like WizKids is doing some production of board games for NECA’s broader, more mass licenses.#Is that something we’re going to see more of in 2011?
To date, we've done games to support Gremlins, Goonies, A Christmas Story, Freddy vs. Jason, and The Hunger Games properties.#We're always looking for ways to broaden our audience and will continue to develop games to support new properties.#There are several ideas in various stages of business development - we'll announce them as we our plans finalized.

to my knowledge they only number figures that are larger then the normal fig....aka peanut or bigger

on a side note for all that plan on showing up friday.... does anyone feel like playing against my DARK PHOENIX (OH MY HE DID NOT JUST MENTION THAT NAME) if so ill bring it because i just found it in some of my wave 1 moving boxes and have a mean craving to play it.
