what I thought you loved the cheese of FF and what not. Wow I would have lost the bet of anyone in team vegas actually praiseing Seth.


Though I did like most of Supernova. So seth is winning points with me, Origins will be the next test. However, I will always miss the figs I mentioned, since that block was when I first started playing, among other reasons.

I just hope the attack/damage values dont revert back to Sinister, because if it does im going for singles and say who cares to the "free" mailaway fig and early buying of collector sets. (AKA no brick for me)

OK here is some food for thought...This is just a suggestion that I think that we should all vote on. I think that everyone should have a 1 month MANDATORY figure retirement impossed on them in the month of Januaray.
Bad = No figure that is a representation of Superman.
Sleazy = No version of Transporter Hawkeye.
Sheild001 = No Version of Persuader.
Weaintbright = No version of Cheetah.
Quite storm = no version of Emerald Empress. Yeah I know it's been awhile.
Unsung Hero = No version of Cheetah or Roy H. Jr. Or how about No John L. Figs?

Nice edit. You know I'm right. Look, we all have our favorites, you like cheetah and I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of Karnak. Because my playing style is different than yours, you think it's somehow cheap or cheese or less than eloquent. I beat your cheese ball 18 shared defense team with ESD with F-ing skrulls. Your a good player and I'm not taking anything away from that but, before you start imposing wishful restrictions on the rest of T. V., I suggest going back to the drawing board and figuring out a way to elevate your own strategy.
I would strongly advise you against going down the path of personal attacks. I value your friendship and think you, yourself have more than your fair share of flaws I could very easily point out to the detriment of our tenuous relationship not to mention your ego.

Speaking of online/in-person differences, it's good to see your response was more level headed and thoughtful than the usual hot tempered "fly of the handle" response we're used to. Kudos! Very refreshing.

I'm not adverse to your suggestion by the way. If the majority feels the same way and, more importantly, if Roland mandates then I'm game. It's always nice to switch things up.

LegacyActually the next wave of retirement will occur after Wizard World Philly. With the late date of WWChicago, the retirement should be in effect for Chicago, but you never know.

These are the 3 oldest sets but I also suspect that Icons will go with them. One, you retire all of John L.'s sets together and make it a Seth only environment. Two, there should be a new Base Set this summer, which would retire the oldest Base Set, Icons. Three, introducing 2 new DC sets this year, they will rotate out 2 DC sets.

OMG, I just got caught up this morning with the group thread. Me and no old probbers? As if they have made much difference with my lousy rolls. :cry: I started to assume the fetal position until I read further that the idea was crushed by our Captain.

Aside from running Korvac the past two weeks and otherwise throwing much needed prob onto my "normal" teams, I try to bring different stuff (I have it, so why not use it). I think everyone knows that except for my heightened frustration with dice rolls last month, I simply like to spend a few hours clicking my dials down with you guys. I like to bring figs that other players have not had an opportunity to face and thereby give opponents a look at the many faces in clix-dom. Did anyone that faced Zombie Hulk not enjoy the challenge? How many times will you face that Flurrying, Energy Stealing beast (with Outwit :ermm: )?

I have to go now and do some last minute Christmas shopping. Later on I'll try to find the lowest Fastball Special combo in my arsenal, leaving enough room for all my beloved probbers. :laugh:

Hey! Good to meet new players as allways! Wiz Kids has no events currently scheduled till the first week of January. So, Unfortunetly we won't see you till 01/04/07 (I believe that's the first Dreamland event). Kool's should be same week on Saturday. Stay tuned to this page for possible updates!

Here are some modifications I am going to allow for the Fastball Special Feat. This should make it more interesting and fun to run "the worst feat ever".


Fastball Special is NOT removed from the game after using the feat.

If the potential thrower (fig w/ Super Strength) also has Battle Fury, the Battle Fury is ignored when making the ranged combat attack with Fastball Special.

Appropriate offensive Super Powers can be used by the throwee (fig with Toughness) against the target. They are:

Blades/Claws/Fangs
Quake
Super Strength (You can throw a person holding an object)
Incapacitate
Steal Energy
Exploit Weakness
Close Combat Expert
Force Blast


PM me with other modifications and/or interactions you come up with. I will update as necessary.

So I have been popndering ideas for this scenario I want to run and I think we might actually do it in Janurary. It is designed to be more of a teaching/learning scerario that anything else. Here it is, and let me know what you think or ideas to make it work better.

The Damage Potential Scenario
400pts, Unrestricted

You have to build a team that has the potential to deal 20 or more clicks of damage in one given turn.

The following statements only apply to team construction when determining the 20 clicks of damage potential:

The damage potential is based off of a figures starting click only. The exception are figures with bonafied activation clicks (ie Hawk, DEO Agent, Colossus).

All attacks are assume to hit the target.

If Leadership is on your team, assume it is successful and adds 1 additional action to your force.

Combat Modifiers (Perplex, ICw/O, SHIELD, etc.) can be counted to increase damage potential to 20 or more.

For Super Strength, the first figure adds a +3 damage potential to your force (assume Coke Machine). Any other figure adds a +2 damage potential to your force (assume Heavy Object).

For Blades/Claws/Fangs, the first figure adds a +4 damage potential to your force. The second figure adds +3 damage potential to your force. Any other figure adds +2 damage potential to your force.

The following Powers do not add any damage potential to your force:
HSS Option 2
Energy Explosion
Pulse Wave (including Nova Blast)
Quake
Incapacitate
Poison
Telekinesis Option 3

Of course, I forget about simple things like cancelling Stealth, so who am I to question anything, but this is what I thought BF was about.

I had an idea for an exhibition game. Something to do during the long break we have. Also something to remind us that this is a comic book game.

Play a game where you have every Avenger figure printed versus every JLA figure printed.

That would be an epic, marathon game. My guess is that is at least 3200pts of figures on each side. Now you wouldn't run every version of a given figure, just the Vet or most useful version (ie only the Vet Wonder Woman from Icons would be played). There are probably more Avengers printed, but we'll have to see what the final point total is of both sides before making changes.

And NO Feats or ATAs. This is dial vs. dial.

My idea is, this is a 4 man game. Two players controlling the JLA figures, and two controlling the Avengers figures. Each team would take their turns simultaneously (both JLA players moving and attacking at the same time).


A couple of other games can come from this idea. Galactus vs every Avenger figure & Spectre vs every JLA figure.

9:45 and I am very tired. An idea just crossed my mind and I want to pass it on before my old mind loses the thought. What about a game scenario based on Highlander - "There can be only one". When a character KOs an opponent while in close combat, the victor absorbs all the life force of the vanquished and becomes fully healed. A player could elect to defeat one of his own team members to absorb their energy and heal if necessary - a little extra strategy opportunity. :devious:

I just found out that there are Two feat cards that come with the 2099 collector's set. The other one needs an FAQ ruling right away, but the first is EXTRAORDINARY!!!Lets just hold our horses about discussing the implications, rocking-ness, and rulings about these new feat cards. I scanned that guys thread and I'm almost positive he mistyped (or paraphrased) those feat cards. Later posts he was like, "oh, BTW there are prerequits", and "it also says this" (I am currently paraphrasing). I would like to wait until I see the actual text of the cards before determining everything it does (it saves me headaches). The main Wizkids site doesn't even have them posted in the figure gallery.

But it is cool that we get 2 new feat cards. And it looks like they add intersting metagame. ;)

And it is AMAZING that this guy got them already. I first I thought it was a hoax. But he lives in Colombus, OH a few hours from the warhouse in Cincy. That is lightning fast for any company, especially Wizkids.

I was doing some tournament searches for when I go down to Cali and see Bubblehead and decided to do a random one for Vegas to see if any new venues popped up. Sure enough two additional venues are holding tournaments in town!?! :eek: :surprised

This is up on the west side of town, and where some of us go to play Dreamblade. I talked with the owner before and he said a new judge moved to town and was going to start running Wizkids events there (HC, Mech, HrC).

The only problem is the judge scheduled the HeroClix for Thursday evenings! Yep, the same time as Deamland's. This may change when they realize the scheduling conflict, but until then...

This is the one out in Boulder City. I believe only myself, Timmy Free, Dareneth, and Kung Fu Hustle (if you know this, you are an original member) ever went out there and played. It is located in the Hacendia Casio literally 2 miles before Hoover Dam.

They used to run events years ago, then the store closed for awhile and they stopped. The main WizKids site lists the last event in 08/05, and then they started up again in Janurary '06 and have been running events consistantly since then. I learn something new everyday.

It looks like their upcoming events in Janurary and Feburary are held on Saturdays. The same time as the Kools tournaments. This is the same scehduling conflict they had before.

However, they do have 1 last event scheduled for this year. It is on Saturday, 12/30 at noon. It's listed as 300pt restricted, and I've emailed the Judge to confirm the format. Anyone up for one last game this year?!


FYI, the underlined store's names above are links to the main WizKids site which has all of their scheduled events listed.


So what does this mean? Split up our ranks just to get more LEs? Not really. But what it does mean is that we now will have 4 WWLA Invitational Qualifiers in town. That means 4 of us will qualify for the Saturday sealed portion and have 2 chances to get into the Sunday constructed finals. Boo-ya! :laugh:


Also, rumor has it that Comic Oasis up on Rainbow and Cheyenne are going to start running tournaments. I'll keep you posted on this.

Thanos and Construct came in today! TITS! Thanos' dial moves around at the greatest of ease. More tits!

I believe that Thanos will be viable to run in 300 once the older sets cycle out. As Disbanded totally kills him; plus having KC Flash, Hawkeye and the entire LAMP teams cycle out. Things will look good for the titan. However, Auto Regen gets cycled out, aw, sad face.
I'll certainly be jonesing to be running him by himself. Plus, looking at BFC's like Loyalty, Disbanded won't get reprinted.
I'm with Lucky that Ordinary Day will get reprinted. It just makes sense.

I'm down for the 12/30 game. I remember trying to go to the collective a LONG time ago, but never made it.

Step 3: Stay away and win on points.
Step 4 (aka the Sh*ts & Giggles step): HSS hit & run and see how many IMP rolls he can make.

At 300pts, a Thanos team would not make a single attack roll against me.

Just ran a couple of refresher games of clix today. Got to test out the Supernova map, Flash-Bug, and a pure Thanos team. It was a good learning experience.

For starters, Thanos CAN make a lot of IMP rolls :p
And he CAN land a hit. I REALLY REALLY could use 5 damage with Outwit though.
Ah well. Still undecided on what I really want to run next week.

Went to the "battle for Galactus" here in L.A. 18 people showed up to duke it out. And I came out of there with some very snazzy swag. But a little about that later.........

First off it was all Supernova. V hyperion, V Silver Surfer, and Thanos was pulled.

Not by me, of course. :ermm:

No. I was graced with this great team: E Hyperion, V Badoon, R Tessa, and Shalla Bal pog. Yep. that was my best option. You needed to field a team that could attempt to beat those heavy hitters otherwise you weren't going to win period. So.....


1st round: Played a good guy running R Hyperion and R Silver Surfer. That's it. Just a 1-2 punch. The clutch move was tying up his Silver Surfer with Shalla Bal, who missed an attack on her and missed a breakaway with her. My Hyperion missed his first attack on his Hyperion but made up for it with the shellacking that came afterward. He got Shalla Bal and I cleared. Woohoo! 1-0

2nd round: Jack O Hearts, Super Skrull, E Skrull, and Shalla Bal. I picked the indoor adventure map with all the corridors inside the house. He moved into the bathroom area and then stayed there for 49 minutes. No matter how much I moved around, he would not come out. It was the 2nd worst game I've ever played. I put myself into position to be attacked. Wouldn't move. I moved back out. Wouldn't move. It was truly annoying and if you know my style of play it was just sad. So the judge comes up and says we now have 2 rounds left- after I had just cleared from blowing up walls. THEN he decides to come out and pop Shalla Bal. I retaliate on his Jack of Hearts and peg him for 5 (with double enhancement after toughness) but Badoon misses his shot. He had moved his Shalla pog out of the way at that point so no chance for points. He wins. *yawn* It was an awful way to lose. It's not a game. I could have left, grabbed some food, came back for that. Ridiculous. Whatever. The guy lost the next round and didn't contend in the finals. I take some solace from that.

3rd round vs E Captain Marvel, R Kang, V SuperApe, and something else. He moves out but just within range of Hyperion I do my thing and pop the monkey for 5. At least he doesn't have TK anymore. I use Badoon to hide behind stealth on the CD Junkyward map. He keeps pushing Kang like it's no tomorrow (nice fig w/MOE) and pops Tessa, my pog, as he masterminds to his monkey and R night thrasher. that was the other fig. Meanwhile Captain Marvel misses left and right with potshots except the first one and Hyperion takes out Kang last. Lost everything by Hypes.

I'm 2-1 with 1316. The finals are going to be the 2 3-0's and 2 2-1's. Well...I sneak in at the 4th seed. (like Seattle!) LOL

I play the guy I drove in with, Richard. He has V Starhawk,E Shiar,V Badoon, R Raza, and E Jubilee. He went 3-0 with it. He gets a full pulsewave on Hyperion. Richard rolled great at the beginning. Hyperion finally finds enough dice (rolled 5 3's in that game with him attacking...frustrating) to pop Starhawk for 6. It comes down to his E Shiar 2 clicks in, Badoon 2 clicks in and Jubilee 2 clicks in vs. my 2 clicks left Hyperion. I run. I made 2 breakaway rolls to keep Hyperion alive and on the Supernova map I had stalled just enough to win.

I wasn't proud of my play at the end as I like to go out fighting and Richard made some key mistakes which I won't get into. Nevertheless I'm off to the finals. Didn't think it would happen. And for my reward:

Finals vs E Kree and Thanos

Yep. It was over quicker than you think. I popped the Kree out of existence and I did have my shots on Thanos but I rolled a 6 instead of a 7 and Thanos punished me badly. He won map choice and correctly asked for the prison. Hard to beat on there. Badoon actually did 1 damage to Thanos before Thanos raised his Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers. Like that..... *poof*.... I was gone. 2nd place though. Not bad!

He's on here as DaveZee so congrats to him. He pulled and played great. And he's got a nice Galactus. I ended up with Purple KCFlash (from a trade), the U Thanos I was looking for (Thanks to CoyoteJack, the man!-another trade), LE Richard Swift, and the stupid FCBD Wolvie black and white shirts I missed out on. For 2nd place I received the DoFP Sentinel set.

Great tournament. Didn't get out til' Midnight but it was seriously worth it. Hopefully KnightWare will get the pre-release next time. Great owners and a good place to clix it up!

It was great to see you there Dave and thanks for the heads up about the game, I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. :) Sorry for the intrusion but I figured I'd offer my experiences as well.

My pulls were far from spectacular as my team held all the "best" (and highest point) figures:

R Doc Spectrum
R Aleta
E Aleta (my BIGGEST piece...yeah!)
R Super Ape: Igor
E Super Ape: Miklho

Not exactly a power team...all 9AVs with no spikes and a couple 3 damage dealers for a short time. On the good side it's 3 barriers and 2 TKers (with a third pushing into TK). So guile was the order of the day and it worked for a while.

First team I went up against was R Weapon Alpha, R Legacy, R Vision, R and E Night Thrasher. Igor proved his worth to me in this match. He tied up both Thrashers, Legacy, AND Vision in various combinations for 6 turns before they took him out. By the time he was gone my opponent was down to Vision on his last Imperv click and Legacy on his last click. They killed Miklho but I took out Legacy. I won with everyone else surviving for my team and only Viz on his. The trick of the day that saved me: Armor Wars map, blow out wall, shoot through hole, barrier it closed. This match was also "Day of the Crit Misses"...my opponent had 1 and I had THREE (in consecutive turns on three different figures).

Next match was against Richard (his team described above by Bubblehead). Armor Wars map again and positioning, TK and Barrier kept me alive a contained a ticked off HSS Starhawk at bay for a while. It came down to the wire and I don't think I've even rolled so many 4's in my life except at WWLA... I took out his Raza for 44 points, but he got my monkey Miklho for 50. A close, close loss.

Last match was what I dreaded. I ran into a team of V Skrull, E Badoon, and...V Hyperion. On top of that: Poor Teamwork. He chose the Prison Map and launched his fodder out front quickly but kept Hyperion in the back...though I'm not sure why. I figured he'd zip in, take out my only guys capable of doing 3 damage and that would be it. Anywho, I Isolated Hyperion for a bit...long enough for me to kill both of his generics without taking a click of damage. Then he took off to his end in the back corner while I tried to limp my way after him. I finally got into a position to attack him...and missed. Every attempt with anyone that could do 3 damage missed. Only had about 3 shots at that. Anywho, lost that one but it wasn't too big of a surprise. lol

Got to pick an LE after the game and nabbed an LE Sinestro as someone I know needs one. heh heh

Great thing though, got my R and E Drax that I needed (Thank you Dave!) and I actually needed an E Aleta so I got her in my pulls! :)

Take a lesson here Team Vegas. This is how you learn to really play this game. By sharing game experiences and putting yourself in those situations and figuring out what you would do.

Sometimes you learn things and see stuff you never would have thought of that the other player talks about. Like Coyotejack using the Barrier to seal up walls temporally.

And sometimes a player describes a situation that he couldn't figure out and you put yourself in that position and think about what you would do. Like Bubblehead getting timed out with the guy staling in the bathroom (no pun intended).

And as a side note, what have we learned today??? You NEVER put a pog on a sealed team. Dave's build would have been 267 w/o the pog. That should have been under everybody there. In a sealed that is extrememly boss, and makes your opponents come to you. This is especially important if you don't have TK or HSS. But with the pog, the guy gets a pot shot in, flips the point totals, and wins.

When Dave called me last night and told me a Vet Hyperion was pulled, I thought well that tournament is over. Congrats guy, you just won a Galactus. Then I read Coyotejacks description of his team and the match. That guy was a Goober, plain and simple. A Vet Hyperion + Poor Teamwork should have won that tournament hands down. Period!

But that is the final lesson we can take from this. It isn't the team that wins a tournament, it is the player. When you are in a sealed and you start hearing about what people pulled and are playing, and you see that junk in front of you, DO NOT get discouraged. Many different things can happend over the course of a tournament. A Goober can be the one who pulled the power figure. You can back door your way through the draw and qualify for the Top 4 or next day. Who knows what will take place.

I agree wholeheartedly! I have posted on "What did you play and how did it do" about 3 times. Sometimes just watching players during a game will help you out. I enjoy watching Lucky or Sleazy play as they come up with strategies I didn't think of (like that's hard!) all the time.

2000 AD Team Ability:
Designating a single character for this team ability means the 2000 AD team ability applies only to that single character, even if more than one of that character is in play.

Therefore, you would not get the +1 bonus against all the characters of the same name.

It must be noted, that this ruling is only in the Indy FAQ under 2000 AD. There is no entry in the Marvel FAQ under Alpha Flight. However, AFlight and 2000 AD have the exact same text and thus, the exact same mechanics. So any rulings made for 2000 AD would apply to AFlight as well. Also, this ruling should apply to Ultimate X-Men in the same manner since that team ability has the same mechanics as 2000 AD.

Here's a little report about today's tourney at the minor venue. All you have to know is that my SHIELD Theme Team is still undefeated at tournaments.

Round 1:
TK Strain & Isolation; AW Map
Played Unsung Hero running a double HSS team. Superman Robot, Mary Marvel (R), Tker, and two generics. This was easily the hardest match I had to play, and the toughest one I have had in awhile.

The key was getting the figs off of HSS. I moved in Wolvie with Falcon on turn 2 and based the Robot with both of them when it had a token on it. Mary still needed to activate the next turn. This forced Jeff to push the Robot and run back behind Blink, and he missed the attack on Wolvie.

After that, I just whittled away at his figs. Mary got her hits off, finishing off Falcon, knocking Wolvie to Battle Fury, and using a Fuel Tank to break up my range formation. By the time Jeff went after Nick and the Sniper, the Robot was dead.

The mistake Jeff made was attacking an Agent and not Nick. The splash damage put him on Outwit, and after that I just positioned to Outwit HSS until I could hit Mary. If he went after Nick and hit, I would have had nothing to chase and hit Mary for the rest of the game.

Round 2:
Assembled & White Noise; CD Map
Played Mark with a Vet Captain Atom Big Fig Team. Raven, Monkey Tker, and Lockjaw. As a side note, I built this team for Mark and was the first time he was running it.

Mark made a mistake right out of the gate. He went first and moved his force on the elevated terrain, but had Raven and LJ on my side so I could see, and shoot them, from my starting area. Nick crits Raven and KOs her.

And you will know my name is the lord, when I lay my vengence upon thee.

Then Mark clears and his next moves are basing Falcon and Wolvie w/ LJ, and Tking & Shooting with Captain Atom. Atom misses Nick, but hits a SHILED Agent (that is why you double target). Nick returns the favor by Psychic Blasting Atom for 6. A couple turns later, the game was over.

Round 3:
Played a noob who had his team built (by me) 5 minutes before the first round. It really wasn't fun for him. Took pot shots with Stealth shooters until he got close to my close combat unit of Falcon & Wolvie. The lesson here is, be patience and eventually your opponent will come to you on your terms. If not, eventually I will hit my ranged shots and kill a fig anyway. Just like when Nick crit hit Starter Bats to KO him.

I'm tired of these Mother F*ucking bats, on this Mother F*ucking map.

Hey gang. Day #1 smoke free. I thought I'd start a mini blog on this thread to keep everyone updated on the continuing struggle of a recovering nicotine addict. The first day was hard. Not as tough as some of the other times I've tried to quit. Mainly, I believe this to be thanks to previous efforts and knowing what to deal with. Most of the day I was alright but I ate like a pig and everytime I ate I wanted a cigarette. Visious cycle. When you wake up and go before bed also is when temptation is at an all time high. I'm already looking forward to the benefits of being smoke free however like, increased pocket space, staying inside at break time instead of freezing my yarse off outside and isolating myself from colleagues. Time for bed. Damn these patches are itchy.

Here's a fact: To get through an addiction, where your body actually starts replacing the chemicals you added, with your own natural versions, it'll be 2 weeks. So it's 2 weeks to you're actually "sober". If you can get through that, then you'll be the man!

I think it's the biz knees that you're doing this. And you're an ok heroclix player, too. :p

Mini Blog:Day #2-"Non-Smoker"

Let me just preface my words today with this. What do non-smokers do? I'll admit there's an adjustment period. Say for instance when a convicted felon is released back in society, he has to get used to thinking for himself again and not hiding porn in his toilet paper, I too am making the adjustment. I'm extremely fidgety and always searching for #### to do. I think this has to do with becoming acclimated to normalcy. The things you all do in addition to most of society that you take for granted and has become your "routine" is now that which I must learn all over again. My only reference is a malaise of pre-pubescent notions I experienced what seems a life time ago with a person I know longer am and so, I'm somewhat at a loss.
That's all for now. Time for a new patch.

So only Jim, New Jeff, Mark and I showed up yesterday. Thank you all for your support! Mark had to leave early so Lucky played in the Tourney. Heres what was feilded:

First round I played Quiet Storm and lost the die roll and chose the Jubilee Team. Won by 33 points on THE VERY LAST ACTION OF THE GAME!!!

Second round Played Lucky and I chose the James Rhodes. I rolled an 11 with Dazzler's (R) Pulse wave to hit all of his figs! Very close match! His Superior tactics vs. my Invulnerability. I actually beat him! Of course that is due to his inability to hurt James or Iron Monger! Good game!

Jim wasn't feeling well, so I guess I won with the only 2-0 record. I got the highly anticipated "One- who-knows" (that's Starhawk to you laymen!) fig and realised that he kinda sucks! He now goes by "One-Who-Blows"! Just goes to show ya that the dail on the whiz kids site and in your hands is two TOTALLY different things!

Mini Blog #3-"The Book of Job" or "When it rains it pours"

Greetings T. V.

Day number whatever and am still not a smoker or using a patch anymore. Much has occurred since last I posted so I feel like explanations are in order. Recently my mom was admitted to Sunrise hospital for pneumonia or so we thought. They found a growth on her lungs and did a biopsy. On Thursday I learned she had cancer. I wasn't aware as to the severity of it until speaking to her primary care physician and learning it was in it's most severe stage or stage 4. This is the stage in when it's been thoroughly routed and moved on to other areas of the body. The diagnosis was painfully honest. She is dying and quickly. It's still hard to believe. It's moved on to other areas including but not limited to her brain, throat and abdomen.
I've been at the hospital with her since Thursday when I found out and am only now gearing up to go back to work. She had neuro-surgery to remove a small tumor on her left lobe of her brain is now ICU recovery. It has fallen onto my shoulders to make sure her affairs are taken care of in the interim and in that vain I was driving to obtain a living will for her shortly after the surgery and was involved in a car accident. This was foolish and I feel bad that this costly mistake will hurt my family and the other driver who was not at fault. He is without injury as am I and for that I thank and praise god. My truck obtained moderated body damage but is still drivable. I will talk to an insurance adjuster tomorrow and make arrangements to get back and forth to work and school in the mean time.
After having consulted Roland and freaking out about this situation, I believe I have come up with a game plan that if all goes as planned should work out for the best. As such, I will not be playing Heroclix with any frequency anymore as I have decided to devote and divide my time between work,school and, spending time with my mom. Perhaps I'll make it once a month or so if she's sleeping. Who knows but I'll stay in touch with everyone just with less frequency. Thanks for understanding. I hate cancer and I implore any member of T. V. that still smokes to do whatever is necessary to quit and make sure this doesn't happen to you or someone you love. Sorry if this is long winded but this is therapeutic and if you don't care or aren't interested, you would have stopped reading a long time ago anyway.
I'll keep in touch and this is my last non smoking Blog. Believe me when I say that if I cannot smoke through all this then nothing will make me light up again.

Sorry to hear what's happening to the "Strength" of Team Vegas! Have had familiy health scares too (though not recently) but I know what it feels like as my Grandfather died about 20 years ago because he smoked two packs a day of Camel Non-filters for 30 something years. Saturday at Kool's was well...pretty cool! Just three people (Me, Sleazy and a new fellow named Jay). Jay hasn't played in awhile so he has only the first 3 or 4 sets. He played a team with Hector Hall (LE)-Dr. Fate and every grounded/Female/BCF Indy figure that was made! 14 figs in all! I was very mean and played an all Super-Man Ally team:
Superman (V)-Icons with Protected and Sidekick
Super Boy (R) with Sidekick
Steel (E) the giant fig With Movethrough and Lucky Break
Steel (R)-HT
Superman Robot (E)
Clark Kent (LE)-CD
Yeah I know... I felt bad playing it too! So I Earthquaked him :( And all his figs lost Super senses. Didn't take too long after that!

Sleazy played a mixed Avengers/Alpha team. He O-Dayed my Resistance.
I KO'd NGN Iron Man right away (cause he is WAY TOO DANGEROUS) and M.A.D.D. put a price on his head! So Sleazy showed how good a player he is as his secondary attackers (Photon(V) and She Hulk (V)) took over and took out my team!

Next sleazy played Jay and it almost went to time. Sleazy KO'd 13 out of 14 figures to win the tourney. As allways Don gave the LE to the new guy. Oh well, guess I'll have to get Joe Ledger someplace else!

I bought a Supernova and a Sinister as that was all that the venue had left to sell. The new guy bought 2 Sinister (He was a little late). I pulled another Stinking Korvac (that would be 5!) which I passed as he is useless in a 200pt. build! My team:
Capt. Marvel (E)-SN with Mental sheilds (don't ask!)
Skrull General (V)
Hydra Tech (E)
Space Phantom
194 pts.
ROUND 1 I got the bye. Mark and New Jeff went at it (Jeff won) and Jim and New guy went at it (Jim won).

ROUND 2 I fought Jim Who had Guardian (V), Dr. Spectrum (R) and Rick Jones. Jim kicked the carp out of me with some strong early dice rolls. The general stood alone against Guardian and scraped by for the win.
New Jeff lost to New Guy by TWO STINKING POINTS!:surprised

ROUND 3 I fought the New guy and called out his Spider-Man (V) into a neatly set trap. The general shot him back into the wall (He failed his super senses) and Marvel hit him with the Coke Machine for 6!:knockedou I did the same to Bullseye(E). Raza (R) didn't stand a chance!
Something REALLY FUNNY happened in Mark and Jim's match... Jim pushed Rick Jones to KO a wounded Jessica Jones (E)! So, we said it was a domestic violence Murder/Suicide!:surprised :eek: :laugh: . Jim won. Anyway I won (barley) 3-0. Thanks again to all who played!

Quoting myself from a thread from awhile back:

"Here's the alternate Superman Enemy TA I came up with:

Feat: Exploit Their Weakness

Prerequisite: Superman Enemy team abillity.

When making an attack against an opposing target, characters with the Superman Enemy team ability may replace the target's defense value with the unmodified defense value of any opposing figure. If applicable, this replacement is first in a series of replacements. This team ability may not be copied.

Cost: 0

It's basically the opposite of the new FF TA. Instead of using teamwork to the benefit of the individual (i.e. using your teammate's defense as your own), you're using the weakness of your enemies' teammates against them (i.e. replacing your target's defense with the lower defense of their teammate).

This represents the ruthlessness of Superman's enemies, and their willingness to harm his friends in order to get at him. Think of it as the target protecting the weaker teammate by taking the attack themself. In that case they are TRYING to get hit and that's why they use the defense of their teammate. That's just the reasoning, that has nothing to do with game mechanics. Perhaps the feat could have a better name to represent what it's trying to do...

Also, the part about being first in a series of replacements is in regard to the Defend power and TAs that let you share defense. If this Supes E. TA replaces first, then the Defend or whatever will then replace that. I think those powers should override.

What does this accomplish? Well, for one, it makes bystander pogs play the role of, *gasp* bystanders! Watch Lex point his weapons at Ma Kent and have Superman take the hit! Also, it brings a dilemna to damaged and weakened figures. If it's a good team it will protect their wounded allies (who now has low defense), suffering the consequences. If it's an evil team they might kill off their wounded (i.e. push them to death), for the betterment of the team!

What a great time everyone had last night. We definatly sent the old girl off in style. I appreciate everyone who showed up and participated. And for those who couldn't make it, well you missed one hellva party!

I'm not quite ready to part with my cardboard, but you make it AWFULLY tempting.

I put up a set of Ultimates and a set of Sinister - made $300 plus. Not too bad - more than 50% of the cost of each case some time ago and I still have a complete set of each for myself. Made an additional $75 on Second Chance offers, so I'm feeling good.

A lot of the stuff I picked up last week from Lucky are dupes for me and will go on the block - think there is a very good chance I will get everything I needed from him ultimately at zero cost. :cool:

Starting Thursday the 1st of March I will be running games at Comic Oasis.
Start time is 5:30 prompt! The owner will be keeping the store open late just for us, so I want to make sure we are not there too late.

First off, Thanks to all of you who showed up Thursday. It really means a lot to me that you would all make the trek to NLV to support my new venue!

That said:

The team I built for todays game:
V Hawkeye + T-Bolts + Double-Time 84+5+5 = 94
V Ghostrider + Double-time 102+5 = 107

See a problem? I did once I got to Kools and started double checking my team build..... Decided to drop double-time on Hawkeye....

The real problem however was that with double-time sitting in front of me I belive I presented my team, at least once, as the original 2 o'clock in the morning team.

This shows the problems with being set on an idea, and not being flexible. Though I never used DT on Hawkeye, I feel that I would have to pass the LE (If I had won - Damn Don and his no points scoring) off to Brett anyway.....

So to those I played today and told I was running Double DT, I sincerely apologize.

Also proves that you should always check your opponents team build before each game.

I now submit myself for the 40 lashings.

The team was a FF Vet Thing and Rookie Human Torch and he played Earthquake to my IIF. I already ate up my Ordinary Day to Unsung Heros MACH-tank team (which, to my surprise, was an Earthquake and not a Poor Teamwork).

The FF team was played all right, he lost Thing pretty early and I lost Lockjaw early on as well, and after that happened, he ran in order for Earthquake to hit; which it did.
The rest of the match consisted of me trying to use Jokers Willpower to get into a position to where I he would have an action token and I'd be in position to hit directly afterwards. After a bit, I figured that, according to probability, he wouldn't be able to land an 8 if I tried to bait him into attacking, and I thought I had at least enough health to withstand a 2 damage hit in case it went bad. I HAD the option to just turtle, but I'm highly against that motion, as turtling is only good if you're vying for position in the early game, IMO. Anything beyond that is just blatant cowardice. At this point, we were both going to turtle if the other vyed for that option.
I tried to make the move and it backfired. It happens, he played a good game.
Don kept saying that he should have been more aggressive with Torch, as he had poison, but both Jeff and I KNEW our figs weren;t going to be able to withstand another attack or 2.

For the record, this was my first time playing Lamp and using Lockjaw seriously, I have to watch that double base a LOT more, Lockjaw kept getting attacked on his rear end because a wall wouldn't cover him all the way.

I figured I should have Fielded KC Flash + Lian Harper

I'm still irky about my match against New Jeff. I shouldn't have won that game as far as BFCs and the teams at hand are concerned, and it went down to a breakaway roll early game. I hate 'heads I win' games.
On that note, no one had a good breakaway roll against Joker in any of the games that day.

and as for old jeff yes I forgot you said you beat him but I did say you GUYS meaning all of you, so I guess it was just everyone else :laugh:

all though Dons does seem to have an odd way of determineing winner. maybe its Swiss (or which ever is the type where the winner moves on and plays the winner of another match, of coure that usually requires numbers divisible by 4 to work on a regular basis unless you complicate things)

I was the only person that was 3-0 before going against Little Jeff in the 4th. Don gave the fellowship to little Jeff (how many friggin Jeffs do we have?!) for getting paired upwards and winning.

Can't wait for the Marquee. I'm jonesing for the Wizard LE, cheapest Quintessence/Power Cosmic ability on the market, Prob Control and Pulse Wave on the first click?! Yes Please.
