Just to clairify, your Dungeon name is something that is seperate from a Team Vegas moniker. You can have both, ie:
The Captain of Team Vegas
Bret Hart of the Vegas Dungeon

In fact, everyone who is in the Dungeon has both except you and Austin. Both of you still need to earn your Team Vegas status.

So if I'm reading your sig right, you're saying your going to gain Team Vegas status before Austin does. :surprised

Yeah...the thing is, Team Vegas isn't really "active" anymore. It's kinda like the NWO or Degeneration X. An old school holdover, members still have their status, once in a blue moon it resurfaces, but not really a current stable.

Plus you're too young to gain status via the social aspect of Team Vegas. Can't go to bars, or sing kareoke, or buy the....well just ask Dustin all the stuff he had to do.

However, if you were to introduce veteran members to say...an older sister, or an aunt or...well you get the picture. ;) Consideration would be given.

I would come out to Oasis and Battlezone but my work and school schedule don't favor weekends. At any given day I am either at school or working. I attend class two days a week, so my leisure time consists of the few hours after class where I'm not also working on my online class work.

I can probably work something out in the summer though, but I want to be done with this school #### asap so summer classes are a must!

I am thinking about attending the Manhattan tournament though, eff a White Lantern give me Manhattan!

hes ok, but really excels as mastermind fodder. You have to position carefully because blob cant be carried or TKed but still I cant think of a better choice to MM to.

Nemesis seems ok but the ability to heal at least one click with every attack could make him very annoying, his range 8 single target but he does have lots of scattered RS.

Sentinel Mark V is cool because you can play him at 400 or 200. His damage is low (3) but its 3 for the whole dial.We don't know his range/targets yet so that will determine how good he is. I can make out 2 targets, and the range appears to be not double digits so probably 8.

Meanwhile, on the front pages, the 6th Colossal is revealed as the Frost Giant. 300 points gets you the pretty sweet Ruler version, 100 Points represents a generic with a much different play style.

Also, some dials, a few of them partial, up in other forums. Vulcan looks interesting. Now we need a 275 point Blackbolt to equal him.
Also, I think Domino will be seen on many, many teams in the future.

Good playtesting for Chase today. Players saw 6 different teams and how they worked. A good litmus test to see if you want to play a certain keyword or not.

RPW - Justice League.....4 wins and the tourney win
Justin - All-Star Squadron.....3 wins
Eric - Asgardian.....2 wins
Charles - SHIELD.....2 wins
Daemen - Avengers.....1 win
John (out of towner) - Amazons.....0 wins; more of a factor of Team Vegas holding down home court than the team's ability

The brackets came out today for the NCAA tourney. Listening to sports talk radio it gave me the idea; "What would a Las Vegas Heroclix tournament bracket look like?"

And it turns out we have exactly the right number of players to make a 16 person bracket. The seedings are based on the current player rankings. Just for a fun thought exercise, how would you fill out your bracket?

I just found out today while playing Roland that DC75 batman had a wording change and the lanterns are not continual. I can understand the batman ruling but the lantern should still give an effect while being held. If anything lanterns should only work when being held (from a comics POV).

According to that the objects are continual and batman is not wondered differently.

I did notice that quake does target (targets all adjacent chars )and can be affected by shape change. There is even a reminder in shape change that says it can avoid quake.

Am I just missing something?

After what I've seen spoiled.....I really have no desire to spend too much on this set.

It's just ok for me. I'd love Holocaust and a Frost Giant. I'd love to have that SR Archangel and Juggernaut. Hulk would be neat but not necessary. Wolverine is totally for players who only like men (and there isn't anything wrong with that!). But really when it boils down to it....I don't necessarily want or need any of them.

Must haves for tourneys:

Psylocke (TK for Xmen,Excalibur, Martial Artists)
Domino
Leech
Kurt Angel

Just because I'm me I'd like:

Apoc is 500 and seems worth it and can't be outwitted.

Onslaught is 600 and can be outwitted.

Since Buble Head posted his limited wants, I thought I'd chime in:

I certainly want a CUR. I mean, its easy to get, and there's plenty of utility to be found here. Aside from a few good combat pieces, you get stuff like Leach who shuts off all Power Action in 6 Squares and Leland who does crazy movement negation.

Vulcan I want on principle. Waiting for Black Bolt...

Domino is solid Stealthed PC with good attack and damage, and a nifty Trait for 66 points. She might be outdone, though, by Fitzroy. Also in the 60-ish range, he has PC, and if he hits someone with an attack, he and an adjacent friendly figure can be removed and replaced on the map. Amazing positioning power, in addition to the relatively cheap PC.

Chuck drawing line of fire from any friendly figure with a matching Keyword is pretty great. Double Outwit (with restriction) is even better. I also think Tarot is worth watching. At a mere 47 points, she has a dial make-up that is, yes, random. But 3 of her 4 power sets are very strong. Either perplex, PC, or a crazy penetrating damage SP, all worth her cost. The re-roll to choose a new power set is optional, so if she lands on the power set you want, you can keep it all game. A versatile player could make good use of her.

SRs, obviously Magneto is a want, as is Archangel. Storm is ridiculously good for 86 points. Most maps are outdoor, at least in part, so most games she'll be a small investment for a 10 range, 2 bolt, 4 damage running shot TK'r, with, typically, a 2o D against ranged attacks.

Juggernaut I would take if I pulled him. I think he's a very solid brick, and full-movement charge that essentially ignores blocking, hindering, and wall terrain for (with an object) 6 damage is nothing to sneeze at. Being immune to Psychic Blast makes him much more viable than most bricks as well.

I would also take Cable/Deadpool. 247 is more expensive than I tend to play, but Jesus is he a beast. Full move Phasing with a Duo Attack? Great. Much like Bats/Cats. But they can use Sharpshooter when they do it? Even better. AND THEY CAN SHOOT OUT OF BASE CONTACT? Phase up next to a shooter, stop their shots, and then use duo attack to shoot some other character 8 squares away. Gorgeous. If you choose the Deadpool option at the 2nd half of the dial, they have 6 clicks of 11 attack, all of them with move-and-attack options.

Only Colossal I'm interested in is Apocalypse, though the Frost Giant is worth his points. I just don't really collect Thor dudes. I think the freeze ray sentinel would be fun to play, in multiples, but the hell if I'm collecting them. 3 of them would make a great army if you used their SP in tandem.

Still haven't seen Mystique or Cyclops/Phoenix. We've also still only seen 65 figs. Solicitation says 67 in the set. 2 Chases?

Yeah, I'll be there. They revealed very little today, mostly focusing on the side games.
Tomorrow morning at the crack of 9, they're doing an all heroclix presentation, so I'll have some cool stories from that. Sadly, no photos. Justin asked me, and everyone, to not take pics. Not all the products are approved for general release yet.

There will be no new product on display THAT I KNOW OF. I know they have a full set of GSX in the case, but all the boxes they set up in the display area were old stuff, unless Justin's got something hidden up his sleeve.

I vehemently disagree with that assessment. Not only, as a cosmic Marvel fan, are you putting personal precedent on what you DON'T want into the fray but I think and believe, that in this case, Gamora does indeed warrant the keyword.

Many venues down here (I realize they're different cities but not different fans) have given her the GotG keyword. Because she was in the frikkin book. As a member.

Same goes for that SI Adam Warlock but he wasn't brought up for discussion. (or did I just do that????? ;) )

In short: I think it's completely justified in this one case. :)

Well by that line of thought Juggernaught should be a t-bolt as he is a current team member, crossbones too for that matter though he got booted from the team afew issues ago.

If gamora was on the team she should have the keyword.

Or at the very least it would be comic accurate for gamora to be on a GotG team.

Maybe compromise that you get the theme bonus but she can't use ATA?

Granted this is a slippery slope.

I could go either way. I'm just a little upset that Juggy is not a t-bolt.

Juggy does not have the T-bolt keyword because his dial is experienced. It is the same reason why Mags does not have the x-men. These characters are not "there" yet at that point in time.

Other characters are meant to represent the "catchall" versions (i.e. Namor, who has everything, and thus I gave him Dark Illuminati).

I dont know that GOTG would be overpowered with her on the team. You'd basically trade bug for Gamora.

I too dont want to get into a slippery-slope. But some exceptions have been made because the figure should have those keywords (i.e Namor).

I'm leaning towards allowing it.

Gamora fanboy-ness aside, take this serious for a minute. You do not want to start playing the "can I add this Keyword to this figure" game. That just lends to bending more rules that will eventually be broken.

And yes I am one of the players in town that will try to break it. Sending multiple PMs to squire trying to get Keywords to figures. And I can make a helluva lot more compelling arugments than you can.

Charles has taken large amounts of time to construct this tournament and keep it fun and balanced. Included in that is crafting the Keyword list that is legal for this format.

And in that process was making exceptions that he chose.

Some were to make a keyword playable by adding figures to be able to get over 500+pts in total figures. Some to create comic accurate teams that don't have a defined Keyword in Heroclix to increase the choices for the players to use in the tournament.

But adding Keywords to Convention level figures was not part of the process. There are certain figures that can't & won't be played in this tournament. And that is what makes it different and unique from the previous Chase tournaments.

If that means Gamora and others stay on the sidelines for this one, well then they stay on the sidelines. They'll be back for the next one.

If Juggy did not have the xmen keyword I would agree but having that means he also represents a more current jugg then the old badguy from pryde of the x-men :laugh:

I am loving him in t-bolts, I was a fan before but I love a good redemption villan turned good guy story/character.

I think if it's decided on a case by case basis it should be ok, at least as far as chase goes. Was gamora a big part of the GotG story?

The idea for chase is to have comic accurate teams or at least somewhat comic accurate teams right?

Now I already have my tbolts team so my argument for jugs was more of a complaint/vent.

Hey on the plus side according to the wiki he had the Captain Universe for an issue of Spider-man so that means we could get a Captain Universe Juggernaut :cool: ahh Juggs with the power cosmic...cant wait :laugh:

I seriously want some more T-bolts. We need Ghost, a new Man-Thing, Mach V, Crossbones, I guess a new Luke Cage. I really want a T-bolts Juggernaut too, though I guess I will be waiting a while for the next non-movie marvel set.

Man-thing is going to have a big part in the Fear itself storyline coming up so that could increase the odds of him showing up.

I guess we also need the Dark Reign line up too, which I loved but I prefer the current line-up.

Come to think of it we still don't have a Strucker Swordsman.

In other news there seems some controvesy over the new Sabertooth VS Wolverine.

Seems like Sabertooth was designed to punk Wolvie and does. Now I know it depends on whose writing them but shouldn't Wolvie beat Sabertooth or is Sabertooth the better fighter? Granted what gives Wolvie the edge in the comics is his durability which does not seem to be translateing into clix. I always thought Imperv would be apporpriate on Wolvie but guess we have to wait for that one.

I really can't afford it, but I bought 2 bricks, since it is selling out everywhere. LSoM sold 24 bricks and 48 Super Boosters in 1 hour. They are out. Oasis is also out, I think. Call Jeff on that.

Pulled Juggs, Storm, Phoenix, Wolvie/Colossus, Cyclops/Jean, and The Captain. Big figs were Nemesis and Frost Giant.

Should be able to trade for what I still need, but I got really similar bricks. I'm in need of Mags and Archangel, high wants. Cable/Deadpool maybe. Didn't pull Sabertooth, Bonebreaker or Vulcan, and my Iceman was broken (though, I really don't care about him. The lone burglar frozen on the dial is almost more awesome than the regular Iceman).

When this character has two action tokens, it can be given a non-free action. After the action resolves, deal it 1 unavoidable damage and do not remove action tokens from it at the end of the turn.

Makes them a lot more playable :cool:

According to that it still says the lanterns are continual. Well at least yellow and blue I did not look at the rest...

They did change the Wonder twins to retain any previous forms powers UNTIL they change :
 Wonder Twin Powers, Activate! begins: ―Once during
your turn as a free action, for each Wonder Twin you may
choose one form listed below. This character can use the
powers and possesses the combat symbols and values
associated with those forms until the next time you
choose forms.‖
This makes them alot more playable.

THis was probably my single best sealed pull ever. I wanted to play Juggernaut but........my buddy Deacon pulled SR Phoenix. So.....

About as perfect a pull as you're going to get. Came from behind all 3 rounds (Sabretooth missing all of his opening attacks with 13 or 12 AV's) but rolling SS rolls or just bad dice from my opponents.

Faced an Armor, Skullbuster, Pyro, and Domino. Ended up with the White Queen saving Creed's butt and pretty much doing all the damage when I finally rolled a 9 and not within LOS to his Domino to sink Armor down to something Defending and manageable.

Took out that Phoenix in the second round. Had no right winning that match but a Crit Miss from Deacon (after he professed he was worried about his dice) and a timely SS roll from S'tooth coupled with lights out attacks of Psyblast from the White Queen put her down.

Finals vs jackstar7 and Rogue/Gambit, Domino,Elixir. Got a psyblast hit on R/G early and he powered them back up two clicks instantly. Domino kept him in the game single handedly as she just kept hitting everybody. Finally Psylocke made her combat reflexes hold on four 8-or-better rolls to finally get the shot on R/G. That Domino was rocking, though. Just nasty.

Although I will say I think that Deacon did let me have a chance when there really wasn't one. It was good gamesmanship on his part and he deserves credit for it. At the end, traded WarHulk to him for his Phoenix (he's a huge Hulk fan). Both of us are happy. :)

Faced Domino twice. She's just nasty and worth her weight , for sure.

Either way, won, and am looking at a nice X-Force Deadpool. :cool:

Lucky I pulled the TK and high AV and RS/Psy. It's sad that you have to play those figs instead of the figs you want to play to try and win.

2. If Rogue chooses a damage reducers, then rogue may choose use which damage reducers, but not both. (In other words since she start with Invul and absorb, supes Imperv. Then she may choose to use either Invulnerability or Impervious.

As per the Players Guide that was just released, it states a few times that you may only use 1 damage reducer to reduce damage. So that should cover this whole two reducers at the same time issue, correct!?

Right. The defender gets to choose, though, so Rogue could still choose Impervious; the active player can't force her to use a lesser reducer.

I did read that the Rogue/Gambit duo does not need LoF for their outwit since it references adjacency in the SP and there was a ruling thats in the PG that says that outwit powers that reference adjacency dont require LoF...

Well I know everyone is awaiting my case report so let's start with:

Awesomesness:
Got 2 of the Jamie Maddox brick figs which I did not expect.
Srs: Archangel (#1 want) Juggs (#3 want) wolverine, hulk, the captain
Duos: cyclops/phoenix and gambit rogue.
Colossals: onslaught and mark 2 sentinel

Only thing that is still an uber priority is Magneto

Apocalypse and the some frost giants and nemesis are kind of wants but I can live without them. Cable & deadpool is a kind of want as well. Armor is also a minor want

Oh it would have perfect had i pulled mags but I got everything else I wanted :cool:

I also got 3 hellfire guards, perfect amount for a team I was working on. And 3 Madrox generics. I got all the rares I wanted I think.
Prof x and sabertooth were my main wants.

Is Vulcan rare or SR?

Also who has magneto for trade?

Also won a magneto on eBay.

Mags is the crisis sinestro or WL Hal of this set. All the other srs, big figs, and duos average about 25-30 mags avegarages 55-60 or stupid lvl of trade.

But he's one of my faves up there with archangel.

I have captain for trade if anyone is interested, I need to update my trade thread. I have lots of dupes of GSX and DC 75th...
