Restrictions: Alt fan4 and Thunderbolts are currently banned at Dreamland(everyone was useing them)

Ok so last night at Dreamland was

Post Sinister
Basically the idea was to simulate the tourney scene after sinister came out and unleashed and ultimates were retired.
Note: we did not use the new rules as far as CR giving plus 2 def and HSS half range.

So the teams were as follows (to the best of my recolection, LuckyM will probably correct me if im wrong)

My team

Owlman ICWO 97
E Songbird Alpha flight 67
Princess Komandr ICWO 89
E cheetah 45
Lian Harper 1
total: 299

E-Sleazy
Owlman 87
Kyle ranor 135
V Lockjaw 34
Roy Harper Jr 39
Lian Harper 1
Total: 296

the other people either dont post on the realms or I dont know there realm name so in no particular order

Jack
Count Nefaria Fortiude+unstopable 240
E fire Armor piercing 60
total 300

Team A (sorry, dont know the guys name who played this team)
E darksied 157
E domino fortitude 71 (I dont know why it wasnt on darksied, but I dont believe she missed many if any attack rolls the whole day so go figure...)
R scarlet witch (FF) 35
R red tornado 42
total 305 (??? I must have something wrong lol)

Mike
V red tornado 67
V puck alpha flight unstopable 62
Princess Komander ICWO 89
V havok ICWO 54
Oracle 27
total 299

team B (god I just cant remember this guys name either
Roy harper 39
Clarice Ferguson 44
Jean Marie Barber alpha flight 66
R scarlet witch 35
Barbra Ann 56
E manhunter Pounce 59
total 299

there were also 2 other teams but I dont remember the guys names or what exactly was on them

Team C
Kyle Raynor (I think)
some version of legacy batman
??
??

Team D
R red tornado
V trickster
V speedy
R scarlet witch
??
??

THe top 4 were

My team
Mike
Team B
Team A

I faced off against Mike
Team A faced off against team B

I dont have time but I will try and write up a battle report in afew days
if anyone has any questions feel free to ask about why certain figures were chosen or what stratagy some one used or whatever

and the suprise of the night....

we played on the sinister map (but dont tell anyone lol)

oh also was supriseing was that no one used KC flash

probably because the people that had him didnt feel like useing him again but oh well

most of the teams had 4+ figs that could attack as opposed to the seemingly standard big fig and pitcrew (with afew exceptions)

and with the sinister map all the action goes to the coridor on the right and fighting basicly takes place between the two rooms there.

oh also the starting areas have blocking terrain in them so you cant have more then 4 single dial figs start out in B2B contact.

I'm surprised no one except me used KC Flash during the 300 pt qualifier period (Front loaded Flash + Ambush Bug).

I'm surprised so see so much Owlman, he's good, but I was too skittish to use him.

Ah well, I'll be back in October, glad to see everything is going strong in Vegas

I was iffy about owlman too, but then I used him and it worked (you just need a pog and not get disbanded)

I think everyone just wanted try something kind of different, we all know what flash can do so...

No Flash:
That's because only 3 of the players mentioned above own a KC Flash. And I generally don't loan out power figs for local tourneys. Also most of the players are fed up with that 20D. They are at the point where they aren't trying to build a team to get to 13AV and will take there chances with rolling a 9 or 10 before Flash kills something with IIF in play.

Players:
Mike's handle is bad6423
Team A is Jim
Team B is Jeff
Team C is Keegan, Jim's son
Team D is Mark

Owlman:
He seems to work for most of my players. They do best with 3-4 balanced figs that have some staying power and can all make an attack roll at anytime during the game. And there isn't one obvious target for the opponent. Only Mike and myself can really run a tentpole/big fig team. Even Eric has trouble with that. Owlman just fits most of the playstyles.

BTW, other non Vegas players can comment in this thread. It would be a nice place to get some team building discussion rather than the trash talking that happens in the general discussion threads. We aren't liked very much around the realms. I wonder why???

Beck

I have been thinking of using Owlman, recently, could this idea work?

U - 99 Professor Xavier
U - 87 Owlman
V - 38 Lockjaw

Xavier: 25 - Fortitude, 10 - ICWO, 10 - Nanobots, 6 - Vendetta, 5 - Knockdown

Owlman: 10 - ICWO, 8 - Protected

TOTAL: 298

Kinda like a LAMP team, but not quite. It uses Professor X to Incapacitate from 12 squares away, which is the main objective. Wait till the opponent gets an action token. Give them a pushing token. Then get right in their face as they clear the next turn and score that nice Incapacitate + Knockdown for instant pushing.

However, if you do use Mind control, you can use the CSA ability on them, giving them pushing tokens, AND a hit on the opponent (if the CSA roll doesn't go sour). and if you have 3 cgaracters Mind Controlled, let the CSA TA go BALLISTIC! Just make sure to have Owlman within range. Which is why Lockjaw can help out and why Charles has Protected. Because I am expecting times where Charles IS going to need to sit there while I get Owlman.

Vendetta + ICWO + Ult. Xmen TA = 15 attack for Charles. ICWO also gives him 1 damage so he can actually score a kill off of Vendetta....Would killing an opponent VIA Incapacitate be able to give him his double points?

The big issues I see right now are Poor Teamwork, the new MOE teams (as they can still attack after receiving a pushing token). Disbanded hurts a LITTLE. Knockdown ensures that I can still dish out pushing tokens without CSA, and I lose that nifty +1 attack.

Is this viable in the least? Also, why isn't Vegas liked on the realms?

Hey Beck. Can't wait to play against you when you make your return to Vegas! I liked your team you posted. It really captures the spirit of the games we play at our venue. Team Vegas as a whole is a well rounded, creative unit of players. We are not well liked on the realms because we voice our opinions and we know that we are good players. Hell, after playing LuckyMusolino (Our Fearless Leader and Multiple Regional Winner), you MUST raise your game to another level. I was a kickazz player in my hometown of Columbus,OH and I thought the competition couldn't get any better. Then I discovered Team Vegas after moving out here. There is no comparison. Though our numbers are small, I have never met a better group of guys than my fellow Team Vegas members. There isn't one guy that shows up on Thursday that I dislike playing, and damn near every game is a nail biter. With the Screw Fellowship philosophy, Clix has become more of a sporting event to us, and I think that's a great idea. We're competitive but we are not cutthroats for LEs, and that's way better than other venues that I've played at. Well, sorry for rambling.

Thanks for the comments on the team. I'm going to end up buying a Prof. X. I've REALLY been wanting to use him for a long time. But he has stats that make you think along the lines of 'So if I was to field Oracle....how do I do this'. His stats suck hardcore except for his attack.
Before I left I was going crazy with Ambush Bug teams. In the one game I played him, he was more annoying than I could have thought.

I can't wait to come back in October and play again. would be my 3rd time playing heroclix.
I played for a bit the first time (around Hypertime). Couldn't find any venues, then found my calling in card games.
Quit the card games and went back to Clix around Legacy. Deployed. Then came back with ANOTHER calling for card games.
I ended up selling all my YGO decks on ebay and played ONE clix game before I left for this deployment. And since there's one tournament for Type 1.5 for Magic (and seeing as how it cuts into clix) I'm done with CCG's completely. Especially since quitting them will give my fiancee less ammunition :p and she is interested in clix (too bad my collection sucks as far as having numerous pieces)

But yes. Vegas has some heavy hitters. I haven't played a game against Lucky where he hasn't cleaned my clock effortlessly. It's like he wills weakness explotation into existance. There's a couple players that do the same, but I can't remember their names worth the life of me. I like how when people make fun teams, it usually consists of a bunch of LE's. (most recent one was the LE Omac)
I'll be happy once Unleashed gets retired (if it isn't already). I don't know what Lucky will do once Black Adam gets banned :P.

I'd just like to say publically that I was looking forward to hanging out with the Vegas crew in L.A. for the Sinister PreRelease.......until.....well...you know what. I'm an Officially Unofficial Vegas member and to hang out with all y'all would have been cool. It'll have to be another time another place.

Or perhaps a properly distributed and operated PreRelease????? Heaven forbid you all get to roadtrip together......

And we couldn't have said it better.

Can't wait for you to get back either. I gave up on CCGs about ten times in my life, but I always go back. It's like cigarettes, you never really quit. When I have my store I'm sure I snooker a few of you into a CCG or two.

BA gone. I just might kill myself. Or I could be like Ultimate Nick Fury and have a contigency plan for every possible outcome. Who else has a back-up plan for when (not if) Cap gets killed.

Sheild001:
People don't like me. And guilt by association people don't like Vegas Players. E-Sleazy and his posting isn't helping the cause online either. I really don't know why. Myself and other players that travel do our best to promote ourselves and the game. And we have won fellowship before. I think the fact that I won an invitational with BA, I speak my mind online, and some of us aren't "fun" to play because we build and play competively lend to the fact that we are not liked universally.

A Screw Fellowship motto doesn't help. And we are a bucnh of cocky sob's.

Bubblehead:
For those who don't know this is Dave Williams. He lived in Vegas for like a year or so, he left around CM. Also known as Ultron Dave for those who remember. He has a wierd fixation for Mysterio and likes the Seahawks. Did you hear about Big Ben's accident? Couldn't have happened to a nicer QB.

Yeah, I was there when he won fellowship. What he doens't tell you is that he should have won the regional. I built him this sweet fin team, and then he rejects it. Then I build him an Earthquake snooker Thor team that he takes the Prob off of. And why did you loose???? Because you missed a roll and Phoenix. Where was your Prob then!!!

E-Sleazy:
Man ##### is correct. I've gotten this guy more tail in the last two months than me. And does he invite that hot secratary from his work out with us when we go to Ellis Island. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! He keeps it all to himself, takes mine when we go out, and then has the nerve to ask me to take him back to HIS car (because I was nice to drive) so he can take a girl back to his place.

You will never win a fellowship at my venue again.

Beck's Team:
You can only use the CSA TA once per turn. It is PC and has the same turn restrictions. KOing with Incap would give you double the points. As would Mind Controlling someone and having that figure KO your Vendetta fig.

The biggest problem I see with the team is tempo. You can only Incap so much and keep my figs at bay for so long. Incaping two turns in a row with Charles meand you rest on the third turn. My figs pull on the 2nd turn and are free to attack on turn 3.

You also need more pucnh on the team. In essence, you are relying on your opponents figs to do the majority of the damage to each other. At some point that will run out. Also, what if you run into a team that doesn't rely on dealing damage through attacking, LAMP for instance.

I think it is a clever mechanic but I dont' think it can be the primary one on a team. Maybe a secondary one on a bigger point team.

Beck
06/16/2006, 03:26
Some good points brought up. Yeah, I'm trying to get a 2nd incapper, seeing as how I don't think Owlman will cut it. I'll definately give him a shot when I get back, because I'm dying to use the cheap CSA member. But tempo is a definate problem.

As far as LAMP goes; in theory, I don't think I should have too much problems with LAMP, especially if the Exp Joker is used (save feedback damage).
As long as Lockjaw is by X (which should be frequently). Mind Control Joker, attack THEIR Lockjaw (seeing as how they'll be together too). And get X out of there, but keep within range. And if you want, control Lockjaw as well, try to attack Joker and then move away.

My team will always have the problem with the opponent attacking first (seeing as how they'll most likely pay attention to the 12 range), LAMP requires up close action. And getting close to Charles is something you probably don't want.

Can you Mastermind off Poison damage? just out of curiosity, I remember reading something on it, but I'm not sure what the answer was.

LuckyMusolino
06/16/2006, 16:32
Beck:
Yes you can Mastermind Poison damage. It is just damage dealt which triggers Mastermind. A pain when 2 Joker/Dog units go after each other.

I will say one thing about Team Vegas. My players and I will try everything at least once. They are always trying to come up with different combos and team mechanics. Lets see if I can break Darkness Within? How would Inspiring Command work? Are Giants viable? Between the emails, text messages, and phone calls seeing how a ruling works no stone is left unturned. It really helps when it comes time to build for a regional or invitational. Playtestting never stops with us. Even when we play Keep What You Kill.

Speaking of Keep What You Kill I have fogiven my Vet Man-Thing. I realize I put too much pressure on him. Hey it happens to the best of men. And Emerald Empress is a prize, Ted just had performance anxiety. He has since been reguled to his base.

Just wanted to let all the team members know that our very own Bubblehead was the 1st looser at The Bullpen's Pre-Release in LA. He took a ragtag team of rookies in a Sinister pure team, leaving a Black King on the bench, to the finals. Loosing only to a Vet Valkyrie and Daredevil. Going against his initial thoughts of boycotting the Pre-Release due to WizKids ineptness, he did us proud. A heartfelt thank you goes out to his wife which let him out for the day to go play. You have a good woman there, don't ever F it up!

So, I thought of a couple of more ways to piss off the rest of the online community. We are going to have a couple of new "policies" for Team Vegas.

Back to the Minors:
I've decided to institue an extension of the ever popular FOCUS List from individual figures to players themselves. From now on, any player who goes winless in a tournament, looses with a power team to a vastly inferior team, or makes any other play decision that brings shame to the name Team Vegas will be demoted to the minors.

That player won't be allowed to play at Dreamland at my tournaments and will have to go over to Kools to redeem themselves. Once you show improvement in the minors and learn your lessons, you will be called back up to the majors.

Thank you Ozzie Guillen for this inspiration!

THE DRPI:
For another idea that piggybacks off of the above one, I'm bringing back something from my days of Ultimate Frisbe at school. We are going to have a ranking system for my players, hence know as the Daniel/Roland Power Index (DRPI). This will allow players to know where they stand with their peers and hopefully will light a fire of competition under a few of them. There is nothing like being third in the pitching rotation to help improve your game. The first rankings of the year will be released next week. Time to impress the voters.

Thank you BCS and Jumpy for this inspiration!

All right Team Vegas chance to pick your brains.

Lets say you are building in a Post-Sinister restricted environment. What do you guys think is the most important factor to think about and address when constructing a team? Why? How do you go about achieving that?

Let's see how you guys think!

heres my prerelease report
played at game depo in um tempe (or is it mesa, I odnt know for sure other then that its in arizona)

there were 28 people so we only got one sinister booster for the sealed part... so I guess it was a CD post release.

no one I saw got a stilt man but there were purple rings as prizes (12 exactly).

I got vet electro, vet kraven, E mach 3 and E bettle + step ladder from sinister, vet omac E blue devil, V hive trooper, v trickster, R geo force, 2 exp doc midnights, and I cant remeber the last fig, but the cards were the bafler and eddie fyres.

my team was V omac, Eddie, V hive trooper, and V electro, and E blue devil. I went 2 and 2, the last round my dice went bad.

I faced a vet supes team and won, but lost to V empress and V elctro + owlman (fielded by Matt who later went on to win).

they ended up selling the rest of the boosters (one per person) for 8 bucks even in that I got

R electro
V spider man
V mockingbird
E radioactive man
Vault

it was fun, but nextime id like to get thrree boosters of the new set....and 0 of the old....

any way as for Lucky's question

Im thinking attack value is the most important thing to be looking at when makeing your post sinister team because the def values are higher. So besided useing figs with decent attack values trying to get perplex/ICWO on the team would be the best way of boosting decent atk values to good atk values, and PC of course to get a second chance to hit.

Stupid idiots!

Fools, all of you!

Obviously the key to a Sin City booster off is to pull a stilt man. psshh duh.
Seriously though, I think ideally you want to have characters with high defense like Kitty Pryde, Spiderman and other 17 to 18 defense figures. The set is balanced, and as such, one should not have a problem developing mechanics with a decent pull. The average attack value is a very median 9 so there should be more than a few dice roll misses to go around.

I actually prefer attempting to roll say a 9 and up as I usually hit those numbers more frequently than say when I need a 5 or 6 as most of you can attest. This is shaping up to be the "me" set I'm afraid.

Keep in mind, there have been no substantial changes made to game play since MM and as such, basic mechanics should be adhered to and noted. There are certain things that work better for certain people but if you play the game often enough, just adjust your style to the team building accordingly.

FYI: I nominate Roland to the minors if he tanks as bad at the next major tourney as he did in PA. We expect more from the first WW tournament champion and more importantly, team captain of TEAM VEGAS. Do you think Data or Warf would follow around an incompetent Picard?

I wouldn't mind being able to pick up a case from a certain shop keep either. I'm just sayin' is all.

MAKE IT SO!

Beck

Most important factors in the new environment. With Legacy still intact: Attack and Defensive values are more important than ever.

KC Flash fits this bill nicely, I'd expect nothing less than to see more of him.

I am predicting a large use of figures with AE bases and Vendetta. An Ultimate X-Men esque ability for 6 points sounds dandy.

Probability Control will be key as well. Owlman is apparently showing what he can do. And I'm kinda surprised no one uses Ambush Bug.

I also predict an uprise of RANGED attacks. Depite the fact that Sinister is trying to get Close Combat back in full swing. Keeping away from that big stick with no range and hitting them is optimum.

But yeah, it's basically the same mechanics we have used before: High Attack, High Defense, ICWO.

Expectations:
Well it looks like everyone is expecting opponents to play high defense figs that have powers that allow them to be on hindering terrain (for the modifier) without a movement penalty. Some of them may or may not have Super Senses. The problem with that is most of the figs mentioned (KC Flash notwithstanding) are weak attackers in their own right. They will miss just as much as people miss them. Makes for a great game of clix!

The Response:
Attack Value & Probibility Control! Two things I have been preaching since I started teaching you guys. I'm glad the lessons have sunk in. And some people still don't play with PC. For Shame!

The Challenge:
To use figures that have a good Attack Value and get support figs on your team that are good combatants as well. Easier said than done. That is what we have been trying to do since the begining of the game.

The problem is that most figs that have PC or Perplex are too expensive for what they do, or can't do in combat. Where have all the combat pumps gone. Also, almost all of the figs with an 11+ AV and reasonable pt value are close combat figs. Not the greatest way to get into a fight. As stated before shooting those enemy defense figs or enemy close combat figs is perferable.

The Answer:
KC Flash - God I hope not!
House of M Magneto - Too weak since we got spoiled from Ultimate Thor!

Or is it something else? What is the most cost effective way to get a high attack value on your team? Remember it can't be vunerable to BFCs either. The persone with the most unique and effective way gets bonus points for the DRPI.

Bad6423
06/20/2006, 19:24
I think the most cost effective way to pump attack value is to use what you got. If you can accomplish a rule of 3 attack value pump without spending additional points, I think you've done yer' job. Take a figure like Jean Marie LE. Starts off with a nine attack value. Change her to Alpha flight, that gives you a 10 for free. Now if she say, happens to be standing next to a hydra figure, that'll give her an 11. Now I think that's where she tops off in the free pump category, however, if you happen to have a character with perplex that serves a dual purpose, say can transport or provide secondary fire, then you can justify that under the category of, "not exclusively there for (fill in the blank, in this case, perplex)" and therefore shuffle that pump off guilt free.
Conversely, you take a throw away figure like V Puck, change the TA to AF for a +1 and load him up with a book case or CPU for a plus one and use that same perplex for the last pump. BAMB, now you only need to roll a 7 to pop that protected on KC Flash. Not too shabby and that one example can be your one, two punch against any potential 20 defense figure without having to spend a single point more than you should.

There are many, many more examples but that's my team Vegas freebie. I still have to play you guys after all.

Shield001

well I guess having a balnced team of 4 or so figs each with at least 1 PC and outwit who can make an attack (owlman, Batman, Jinx, etc..)
another way could be to have a couple of cheap harassers with decent atk and damage, like echo, Roy Harper, mockingbird (looks that way anyway) to soften up the enemys defense so your main attackers can hit even with low atk values.

E-Sleazy
06/21/2006, 19:53
The explanations all you guys provided for getting your combats were all well versed and carefully thought. I have yet another idea for dealing with high defense:

As your opponent places KC Flash on the map, pull out a very sharp rusty, knife. Roll one die. The result of your die roll determines how many times you stab your opponent in the hand. This forever more will be called The "Vandal Savage Method." If your opponent Sidekicks Vet Lockjaw with KC Flash, and you already played your Isolation BFC, you may roll two dice.

E-Sleazy

yes you just only roll one die instead of 2 to see how many time you get stabbed

Ah Bad6423,

I see that you've called yourself the "muscle" of Team Vegas. Might this suggest there's no brains???? Heh heh.

And I agree completely with his assessment too. Having played the E Hydra Tech....he's the bomb for his points. After two clicks he gets support too??? Hello, on my team. Flash's dominate but they're susceptible to one thing. a lucky dice roll. All you have to do is roll high enough to get them off that first or second click and then they're very manageable. Of course getting all the objects taken care of would be helpful. (stupid nanobots.)

Of course I just do what I normally do with those Flash's. Kill everything around them first. Let's see them not push every single round and do that max 1 damage after toughness. And take your sweet bippin' time playing those wussies, too. After all, KC Flash players are notoriously "non agressive".

And I reported my pre-release in the PreRelease thread in the general section. Page 3 or 4..something like that. Got 1st loser and the Danger Room/Xmen set for my troubles. Also have a beautiful Purple Stilt Man headed my way!

BOOYAH!

The JLA was victorious! The team goes as follows:

LE Kyle Rayner
E Wonder Woman (Icons)
E Fire
V Vixen
E Elongated Man
V Hawkgirl
E Red Tornado
No feats, 500pts.

Jack had a Minions of Doom Team, Jim had a Green Lantern Trickshot HitSquad, and Jeff had a Double-TK X-Men team. Well played by all. Just a great slobber-knocker. Lots of fun, and I can't wait for the next Faction War. The Serpent Society is gone but not forgotten, baby!

I think I'm starting to notice a slight trend in how competitive teams are going to look in the future. Bar Front Loaded Flash and LAMP.

The biggest example I can think of is Cramcompany's team that won the most recent WW:

2 modes of transportation/taxi
2 attackers (AT LEAST 1 attacker with move+shoot/range)
2/3 support figures
POGS (If applicable)

Seperating all of this into 300 points can be tricky. But It's easier once you start merging some of the categories together (Ghost Widow is Medic+taxi, LE aurora is an attacker and a taxi, the list can go on)

some examples for the support figures:

TK:LE Clarice Ferguson/R Blink
MEDIC:LE Ghost Widow/R Dr. Mid-Nite
PERPLEX:E Multiple Man/ICWO+Oracle
PROB CONTROL: R Jinx/Owlman/Ambush Bug

I'm trying to tinker around a bit with the idea. But Does this kinda seem like the new way of building compeitive teams or am I just way behind the times? (I'm Kinda used to KC flash and LAMP....oops).

E-Sleazy
06/26/2006, 19:32
Beck you are absolutely right. Nowadays, instead of investing in the heavy hitting brick character, players are more into building teams that comprise of two seperate units. The days of BA and Thor are gone, and there is no replacing them thus far. The Supermen are all to expensive for a 300 pt game as is Nefaria. Now that Flash is the consummate front runner, players either have to poison him to knock him off his 20 DV or have multiple attack options, and hope for a high roll.

Another factor is the cardboard. Now, you have to have more than one dominant mechanic on your 300pt team. If not, a purple piece of cardboard will nerf too many points on your team.

Beyond that, the "pit crew" has also been retired, so as you mentioned in your the previous post. Nice ideas in regards to where to find the support powers for a good price. Personally, I think the game has become more balanced figurewise. Unfortunately, the fun factors gets negatively affected due to the cardboard. High level players are kinda forced to build JunkShot teams to overcome the BFCs even more than their prospective opponents, which makes one look like a jerk sometimes. (Sorry guys?!) It's not about being obsessed with winning; it just sucks majorly to have your "fun team's" mechanic be totally annihilated by a piece of bullcarp cardboard. My rant is over. See ya soon, Beck. Can't wait to play ya!

LuckyMusolino

Well from reading several threads about WWC this is the consenus of what will be played in vomit amounts and potentially dominate Chicago:
1. KC Flash + Feats (with or w/o Sidekick)
2. Nova Blast Emerald Empress
3. Joker LAMP
4. Superman Robots (if out in time)

At first glance most people will yawn at the same old same old. But the elite arctypes are eltie for a reason. All are powerful with high win percentages, they can make an average player better, and have few weaknesses that the best can play with and/or expose for what they are. But they are not the end all be all of the current clix environment. What are easy ways to weaken their effectivness:

1. IIF, Isolation, A high dice roll with the Laser Turret
2. Crosswinds, Disbanded, Longer range w/ ability to see Stealth
3. Poor Teamwork, Bright Lights, Multiple Attackers that can kill LJ in 1 round
4. IIF, PDF, Multiple Damage Reduction Figures

Notice how the first two ways for each arctype are BFCs. It goes back to what E-Sleazy posted about how the cardboard dictates the games and your build strategy. However, if you are playing a different arctype being able to level the playing field with a $1 piece of cardboard is nice (if not lucky). That is how certain teams break into the top 8, but usually never crack the top 4 or win. So, you either play one of the top arctypes and get ridiculled, or play a different team and hope the BFCs go your way and watch the final 4.

Or you can come up with a team that has an answer for everything, does not have a weakness against what will most likely be played, and cannot be hosed by BFCs.

"But you're asking the impossible!" That is the short definition of Captain.

I pointed the motto to the judge and he laughed. Of course that just meant that despite my 2nd place showing (losing to a Black Bolt perplex team, I ran both Surfers, U and LE) I was doomed to the sweet Clark Kent LE that was fellowship's.

I know you're all disappointed but there was nothing I could do. It was out of my hands.

Until further notice all versions of Superman (including alt. names) are banned from my tournaments.

Lois Lane pogs are highly encouraged to be played on every team. Her dial has errata as follows:
1. She is free to put on any team
2. She has Imperviuos
3. She shares her Impervious with friendly figures adjacent to her
4. She has Auto-Incap, no attack roll needed
5. If Superman or Cyclops is on the board they are automatically Incapped at the begining of every turn. No action token is given to Lois for this.

Hey guys this just in... Entertainment Weekly reports that George Lucas is on location in Canada filming the prequels to the Lois Lane Trilogy. The first film is slated for release next summer and will be titled "Lois Lane:The Phantom Menace." Superman is expected to make several cameos, but will not speak, show any "testicular fortitude", or inspire hope in men anywhere... Updates will follow as soon as more information is obtained.

We now interrupt this Strategy/Tactics Thread with a Special Report...

Heroclix envoy, LuckyMusolino has been found guilty of discrimination. Lawyers representing the ACLU and several gay and lesbian groups are outraged at his current ban on all Superman Heroclix and alternative figures. The aforementioned activists groups cite that this is a direct violation of Superman aka Clark Kent, aka "Bikini Stallion's" basic right of free expression as stated in the First Amendment of the US Constitution. Superman has long stood as a beacon of the "alternative Bikini Stallion lifestyle" and wishes to be played on a weekly basis. Neither LuckyMusolino or the " Bikini Stallion" could be reached for comment. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

TIMMAH!
We are the Loards of the Underworld!
Darkness Feels my Heart with Pain!

He is an old school member of the team, but plays every now and again due to his class schedule. He made a great comeback last week, taking second and getting an LE. It inspired him to play this week as well. Welcome back.

BTW, he won 3 uniques this 4th of July during the first anual Team Vegas Poker Challenge!

Lois Lane Update:
Due to the recent involvement of George Lucas, the Lois Lane pog has the following errata:
Lois Lane is the only character that can affect Chuck Norris. Her Auto-Incap works just as effectively on Walker, Texas Ranger as any other figure she plays against.

ACLU Lawsuit:
Despite this setback, Superman will remain banned from my venue. My rights as an envoy are protected under the Constitution of the United States. We will take this all the way to the Supreme Court and fight for every envoys rights to shape and define his/her venue.

Pardon the interruption. This just in from the Team Vegas Newsdesk...

LuckyMusolino's posted comments in regards to the Superman ban have lit a fire under the "alternative" Heroclix community. Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock, Heroclix's "ambiguous duo" have left the following comments to the press.

"Mr. Musolino's ban insults the very fabric of the "Bikini Stallion" lifestyle! We will not take this ban lying down. Our legal team will be sure to be "on top" of the situation! Mr. Musolino is gonna take in the rear for this one!"

On a lighter note, Midnighter and Apollo of The Authority just adopted a new, lovely child from a third-world country. The couple could not be reached for comment.

Maybe it's just me, but with the lack of cheap printed Outwit, doesn't it seem like cheap ES/D is becoming kinda boss on shooters? I mean, Toughness is nice and all, but somebody missing me from range seems a lot nicer. I know we can In Contact ol' LJ and give him outwit for cheap, but no one really wants to have to Outwit a 50 pt shooter's ES/D before Outwitting the Primary Attacker's Imperv or Invuln. Just an observation.

Ok Vegas Players, the tournament for 7/13 is the every popular Expansion Wars. You will need to construct 500pt teams using figures all from 1 expansion. This is unrestricted, so any set goes. BFCs, Feats, and Pogs are allowed, however you can only use them from the expansion you chose. For instance Ultimates can't use any cardboard, but Mutant Mayhem can only use cardboard from that set.

All Special Objects: Indoor/Outdoor 3D, Danger Room 3D, and CD/SIN Special Tokens are playable no matter what expansion you are using.

For this tournament, all house bans are lifted. That means T-Bolts, Fan4, and Superman are legal.

Captain's Picks - Top 3 Expansions:
1. Clobberin' Time
2. Ultimates
3. Legacy

This just in from the Nevada News Desk...

Superman, fresh off the heels of his ban being lifted at Las Vegas venues has been accused of assault by several anonymous heroclix. The only one brave enough to come forward was #### Grayson, former protege of Batman. He is currently in a local hospital's Intensive Care Unit. The Newsdesk has the exclusive statement. They have been edited for content for our younger and more sensitive viewers. It is a direct quote as follows:

I was just swinging around on patrol in the Bronx and I saw Superman, and he was lookin' kinda down, so I figured I'd flag him down. I'm like, "hey Stallion!" Then all I could see was his eyes glowing bright red and he came at me fast as hell like a stray pit bull or something! I tried to Outwit him, but it was like he was on some Fortitude $#@# or somethin'! I even ran to hindering terrain, but he was Unstoppable! He just kept coming!"

This statement has set off a maelstorm in the superhero community. Adam Warlock, a Superman supporter and avid vocal leader of the "Bikini Stallion" heroclix lifestyle stated "These allegations are obviously false. I've known Clark Kent for quite some time, and he is the most gentle man I've ever known. This is just a sign at how jealous and vindictive the Bat Family can be. Can you really trust a guy who hides from everyone and spies on his "friends" with his "Brother Eye?"

Batman was reached for comment at a undisclosed location and had a grim yet brief response.

"Clark, I know you can hear me. What you did to Grayson was unforgiveable. The kid gloves are off, and the Kryptonite Gloves are on!!"
What are you gonna do against me now that your range is cut in half, punk?"

Our Special Correspondent was told abruptly to leave soon thereafter.

This concludes the Nevada Heroclix Newsdesk's Special Report. We now return to your regularly scheduled postings.

Expansion Wars Tournament:
The dust has settled and the results are in. The expansion that won our little Secret War was.....Fantastic Forces!!!
That's right aikijo took them all the way to the top going through the power and cheese of every other expansion. But why was this seemingly overpowering expansion not on the Captain's Top 3 List?!? Did I underestimate this expansion? Is aikijo that much of a better player? Or did the other players seriously tank! Back to the minors for everyone! The final results were like this:
1. aikijo - Fantastic Forces
2. Tange Freelove - Clobberin' Time
3. Sheild001 - Legacy
4. Bad6423 - Ultimates
5. E-Sleazy - Armor Wars

Tournament for 7/27:
This is the next constructed tournament for everyone. I'll be in Phoenix so Bad6423 has agreed to run this one. Boy are you guys in trouble. 400pt unrestricted, with none of your Captain's annoying house rules. That's right the gloves are off and anything goes. BFCs, Power Gaming, Tbolts, Fan4, and No Highlander Rule! Discuss strategy and have fun.

Eric, you have waaaay to much time on your hands at work. Do you even do any work? Maybe if you stop spending so much time on the realms, you can close some of those deals you are always talking about! And I'm not talking about loans, I'm talking about that secretary at you place. I go to pick him up one day, and all I see is woman and him. Less geekdom, more effort into chicks at Ellis Island.

And look what you posting has done. Mike is now boycotting the thread. You know he is "senistive' when it comes to this subject. Mike we accept you for who you really are. Please come back, we all miss you.

This week is the Sinister Marquee at the Majors Venue. I know some players won't be playing because they don't want to buy any more Sinister and some are plain broke. Come by anyway and get some pick-up games in. I'm thinking 300pt & 400pt theme teams. For those who will be doing this, flush out the details in the thread.

The Marquee at the Minor Venue:
A total of three players were brave enough to purchase 3 boosters of the red-headed step-child set of HeroClix. They were each rewarded with a Unique and 2 Rares. In the end your Captain was victorious over QuinnsClaw (Ben) and "New Jeff" (until he gets a handle).

Captain's Team:
Electro - V
Valkyrie - V
March-1 - R
Captain Marvel - R
Hydra Officer - V
Lockheed (300pts)

On the Bench:
Blackbolt
Spider-Man - V
Fixer - R
Daredevil - R
Hydroman - R
Swordsman - Rx2
Sgt. Tork - Pog
Camoflauge - Feat

Notice how the chase Unique of the set (pictured on the packaging even) and the chase base set fig of the set didn't make my sealed team! Shouldn't the chase/boss figs of the set be automatic's if you pulled them in sealed?!? What is wrong with this picture?

Here are highlights of the other two players pulls. Jeff got a V-Bullseye and Stilt Man Unique. Ben got a R and E-Bullseye and Charcoal Unique.

Notice how the chase Unique of the set (pictured on the packaging even) and the chase base set fig of the set didn't make my sealed team! Shouldn't the chase/boss figs of the set be automatic's if you pulled them in sealed?!? What is wrong with this picture?
.

ahh but the chase non was on your team, V electro is the best non rare/unique of the set.

if BB started with his invul he would be a sure pick (assumeing the same or lower point cost)

stilt man should have won the whole thing if jeff used him, as the opponent would die from laughing.

It should also be noted that the only unique on my team was off the board for every game of the expansion war.

for this week we might have a 90's flash back to everyones favorite show Lois and Clark

I also need a list of inhumans made in heroclix so far (and figs that would fit on an inhumans theme team)

as for next week, can someone loan me a nanobots ( assumeing someone isnt useing it). Flash isnt any good without out lol....J/k I havesomething else in mind for nanobots If I can get ahold of one.

Ok just one thing, and Ill be postin the same question in the rules forum,

if radiation leak is the BFC, does support get a minus 5? since leak is - 3 and new support is -2?

Guys, I just wanna say that the level of play has increased dramatically over the last few weeks. It was hard enough winning an LE before. What are you guys on, steroids or something? JK

On a serious note, I am loving this. The creativity and punch that you guys are all putting on the map is awesome, and every dice roll now is pivotal. It looks like those Sinister LEs are up for grabs now. When I was running tourneys in Columbus I could only hope for such competition at a venue. It's getting to a point where I can't even joke around no more. You guys have owned me the last couple weeks, but just like any great supervillain, I am not dead, I just got written out of the story for a couple issues. PEACE!

Radiation Leak & Support:
No, you just get a -3 to the role. Radiation Leak states "...instead of floowing the rules for those abilities...", so you ignore the Support Text from the PAC, and use the text from the BFC.

Inhumans:
Blackbolt, Crystal, Medusa, Lockjaw. Could fudge Quicksilver because he is married to Crystal (how?), and Johnny because he f*&^ed Crystal.

Sinister:
The best non rare/unique(s) of the set are the SHIELD and Hydra figs. Electro is tits sealed with the triple shot. Odds are he will hit at least one fig and not waste an attack. Plus ESD is boss on any fig with all the low AVs.

Loan you a Nanobots!!! HAHAHA! Silly Boy. $5 online. Go and buy it today!

However, when I do get up there I'm going to say bring a theme team (and no your theme can't be "cheese theme".) Whatever theme you want. And then we'll throw down. We all know how good we are with the usual but it takes truly skillful play and coolness to throwdown theme-wise and win! you'll be surprised at how much of a better player it makes you!

Well I'm back from my vacation and am mostly unaffected but much refreshed and excited to see that the bikini stallion brigade is back in "action" and in full effect booooooyyyy!

Can't wait for the sealed. I live for those. This set does suck yes but I'm always excited at the prospect of new wolverines. Now if they just made another elektra...

Seriously, stop with the wolverines WK's. They all suck and his powers don't translate well in this game. The only way he would be worth it is if he was 25 pts.

Anywho, as RoRo stated anything goes at my tourney except the laser turret pog is banned and the louis lane pog doesn't cost anything to add to your team. If you don't have louis, you may sub jimmy olsen or ma parker. If you don't have any of them, ask me and I'll provide you with one for the tournament. Superman has returned and it's about damn time we act like it.

That is all!

You only play theme teams because you can't build a power team. May I remind you who has built you teams for every Regional and Invitational you have been to? And that LE Boon team was tits, but nooooo, you wanted to play Earthquake. So who built you that Thor team that got you to Top 4???

Vet Psylocke w/ Stunning Blow is tits!!!

The Marquee at the Major's:
As reported by Sleazy, aikijo (with the new moniker of The Unsung Hero of Team Vegas) won the Marquee at Dreamland by going 4-0. His teamed was lead by none other than Ultimate Nick Fury! An experienced Wizard played a major supporting role.

The dissapointing result of the Marquee was Dumbo06 only getting one win with the God of God pulls. Vet Pulsar, Vet Bullseye, Exp. Wizard, Exp. Mockingbirdx2, with Exp. Multiple Manx2 on the bench. You truely are The Rookie of Team Vegas.

The rest of the pulls were average to good with nothing special to report. uniques were had, and rares were ratioed properly. A little short on BFCs and Feats, but Pogs are handy in a sealed. BatSentry57 (Jim) gets the award for the worst pull.

Bubblehead's Updated Record:
That's right, I forgot about the sealed tourney you were here for last year. Both bad6423 and Tange owned you that day. I have to adjust the DRPI accordingly.

Why don't you tell everyone about the Triple Spidey team you made for last year's winter regional in San Diego. As I recall it had 3 Starter Spidey's all with Pounce and tried to use a Serpent Society fig to allow them to move through anything to Pounce. This was before I began helping him make Invitational teams.

Here's to Mysterio joining Quasar in the Great Beyond!

Well I made it down to Phoenix in one piece. No problems at all. For those who don't know I'm attending a gaming con down here called PhoenixCon. It's a smaller one, but there is still 4 non-stop days of gaming. Magic, SWM, Role-Playing abound. Plus Demo's up the ying-yang. I'll be coming back with plenty of new stuff for us to try out. I love Clix, but we need to expand our gaming habbits so we (and by we, I mean me) don't get bored.

Unfortunatlly there is no HeroClix at this Con!?! Don't blame WizKids, a week after ComicCon and a week before Chicago and there is no time. However, I am going to a tournament at a local venue on Saturday. For those who might know, it is at Pop Culture Paradise. The envoy is NegativeSteve. Haven't seen him since LA last year. Also this is where Matt plays. He won Texas last year, and came in 2nd at Philly this year. We are 1-1 vs. each other and this will be the rubber match. Team Vegas will represent and I'll try and steal one on his home court.

The tournament is 400pts, and you can only use retired figs. You must have Outwit, Prob, Perplex, & Support on your team. It's appropriately named Whine & Cheese. Here is my team:
Firelord - Vet
Hawk - Rook
Doombot - LE
Shi - Vet
Johnny Aplha - Rook
Black Cat - Exp.
Avalanche - Vet
Intergang Medic - Vet
Alfred - Pog
397 pts of Tits!

Also, I'm going to the Con with Derrick (Dareneth). For those who don't remember him, he was the big scary looking MoFo that won all the time back at Dreamland. I'm going to get him on this thread soon. He says hello to all and that he can still kick all of your butts easily.

Well, Jeff continued his current winning streak with a marvelously played swarm of Madri and Trickshotted Hawkeye. Playing his team was like killing zombies. You kill one Madrox, and here comes another. His play made it seem like there were even more figs on the field than there were.
My team was:

V Blackfire
E Wonder Woman
E Batman (Starter)
E Lockjaw
R Domino
E DEO Agent
E Songbird

Jim came in third with a Vet Darkside, Vet Trans Ghost Rider, and Jinx, and Destiny. Even with the double PC, he still missed a million dice rolls.

New Jeff came in 4th with a lovely platter of processed cheese food in the form of 2 Vet Jokers, 1 Exp Joker, 2 Lockjaws, and Harley.

It was a fun tournament as always and very well-played. I think me and Jeff couldn't stop laughing our entire game as I discovered the hard way about the Madri. I got owned by a pog, man!!

Well Day 2 of the Con was fun and exciting! In the morning I did a demo of Shadowfist. It's a CCG based off of Hong Kong movies. It's a fun game, and it's the best multiuplayer CCG on the market. Mechanics are basic, but might not be your guys' cup of tea.

Just got handed a crapload of free Clout. Obliged to play in a tournament tommorow. Apparently these things are used for other stuff than throwing at people.

Won a SWM Sealed in the evening. Pulled an Emperor Palpatine that owned everything else on the board. No Contest.

We ran a Midnight game of Munchkin. 8 players, Fantasy only with the new 4th expansion. Your benevolent Captian was the first to reach Level 10 and win. Was very helpful until I became a Dark Elf at Level 6, then the pain started.
Being a Dark Elf Theif...Tits

The best part of the day was hanging out with the guys from Dead Gentleman. They are the ones that made the indy movie Gamers. Did the Shadowfist Demo with them. Played Apples to Apples Pictonary with them, we were the winning team of course. And Derek hung out with them when they screened their movie. All and all a good bunch of guys.

Your Captain represented Team Vegas with honor earlier today, going 3-0 and taking the top spot at Pop Culture Paradise. He was rewarded with a Clark Kent LE.

The games were well played by my opponents, but were no real contest. Took out a Dr. Doom/Fan 4 team round 1 against a novice player. Round 2 was a Hal Jordan Stealth Tank team. No problem for Hawk. The best part about that game was that it took his Robin 4 attacks to kill my Alfred pog. And round 3 was against Matt...

...And he was playing PHOENIX, my arch nemesis figure. It was a loosely based Excalibur theme team with Pit Crew. The game was chess positioning for the first 4 rounds. He misplaced and didn't have full line of sites with his 2 (yes 2) Con Artists, and that gave me tempo. After pop shoting his PC, he had Phoenix go for broke against Firelord. Needed a 6, rolled a 5! After that it was all over. Firelord and Doombot wasted Phoenix in 1 turn! Couldn't let her get back to the 2 (yes 2) Paramedics. Then he just rushed with Captain Britian to try and change the tempo, but Shi and Hawk both hit and he didn't make either IMP roll. After that the game was all but over.

The Captain winning the rubber match on Matt's home turf...Tits!

Derek represented well, winning the fellowship prize. He ended up going 1-2, losing to the GL Tank and to Matt. Matt always takes out my leiutenents, but your Captain always avenges for Team Vegas.

NegativeSteve says hi to all. He runs a great game at his place. Coming back with an Indoor Adventure Pack (the one with the Coke Machine) for you guys. Opening bid is $15!

And Derek, nice job as well. Although you did win fellowship and you know what everybody thinks of that....... if not I got two words for ya.....

Well, the Con is over. 4 nonstop days with little sleep and even less female contact. We might have to hit The Island early this week. At Derek's place now and heading home tomorrow. Did alot of trading with Team Vegas' Out-of-Town Arms Dealer.

After returning triumphantly from Pop Culture yesterday, we both played in a Magic Coldsnap Draft. Went 2-1. Loss to a Black/White deck that had this broken 1 drop that gained the guy like 20 extra life per game. Lots of power cards in every pack. Very rough draft. Beat Derek in the final round though.

This morning I did a demo for a CCG, Universal Fighting System. The company optioned video game properties for the game. Right now there is Street Fighter and Soul Caliber. Not a bad system. Similar to WarCry and was designed by the same guy who made WarCry.

After that I played in a Clout tournament. Yes, that's right a Clout tournament. Those things we threw at each other in LA and Tyler uses as markers for Clix. I am coming back with a backpack full of this stuff. Got to know a company vendor really well and they gave me starters upon starters, and a full box of packs. You guys are going to play this with me, especially Sleazy and Bad. We need a secondary game to Clix and this might be it.

Yeah, Derek basically won fellowship because he did not put a Bat Alley/Kabuki on an Annhillius Wild Card Abuse Team. Screw Fellowship was in effect, but others were worse!

I don't think you're in a position to give me a hard time, Bubblehead. *laughs*

From what I hear thats how you get most of your LEs these days... but that aside, the reason I got fellowship was that I bribed the judge to get myself the other Clark Kent LE. *evil laughter ensues*

Had some fun today at the Clout: Fantasy tourney... had a case of the one-unders for winning points but, hey, I got a bunch of free swag which is what counts. ;)

And yes, I hooked up Roland with some new weapons upgrades while he's here... you'll just have to cope with it.

I guess its a good thing that the maps are laminated.

And dont worry E, next week all figs with powers and TAs are banned (excpet black manta of course) the only other figs you can use are thugs and criminals (no pogs as they are broken too) and the build total is 2000 points, so have fun with that. (oh and dont worry you are playing on 2 of each of the three new maps so you can spend half the game moving)

I just want to report to the team that Bubblehead will be attending WWChicago this week. It is a last minute decision, but his lovely wife (all comic book geeks should be so fortunate) has allowed him to go. A big Team Vegas thanks to Laura!

So now I expect numerous frantic phone calls about what team he should run. This is last minute even for Dave, and he has nothing built. But those months of preping for Post-Sinister will not go in vain, and The Catalog will be of good use to him. Say hi to the Convention Pit Crew for me.

Good Luck Bubblehead and do Team Vegas proud!!!

And while you are in Chicago, look up Tim's cousin. The smoking hot hottie with the breast implants that I got to see last year! She's the one that got our WWC Thread deleted last year with all the discussion of her breasts and how Luke and I wanted to bone her. But hey, in our own thread I can talk about anything!

OMG, you didnt get hurt or anything did you?

oh and on a lesser note, you should all check out the WWC fellowship thread on the right way to play KC flash...

Bubblehead
08/08/2006, 01:50
HAHAHAHAHA! On two counts.

That is not the right way to play Flash. I'll echo the sentiment that time IS a part of the game. Unfortunate but true. You may be outplayed but if you can OUTLAST, then it's all the same. Live and die by that sword.

Secondly I meant robbed, not as in mugged or held at gunpoint, but cheated. One major and the other one I meant in a joking fashion.

First and foremost, I won a marquee and an automatic invite to the Invitationals at WWC. I went. My judge incorrectly put me down as fellowship winner. There were 2 of us that showed up.

No matter how much I protested to Wade, the new guy running Heroclix, he wouldn't alter anything. There was an alternate line for those that wanted to participate but didn't win a marquee. I went to that line. Other kids and men alike RAN LIKE HELL to get there first. I couldn't dignify it amongst many others. I was #10. They took 6 or 7.

I called the judge up and left a very heated message. Then ro-gan and stevie d also called the judge and left some messages. At that point and time I was upset. I came to hang with some friends but I did go to compete as well. And now I had no chance. Wade said he believed me but once a judge reports it, that's it. No changing it. I was screwed.

The other is that apparently I won the Drunken Heroclix Championship. I was just going to take pictures of the guys that night. Claiming I was the Stills Photographer I was getting ready to head over with Stevie D. Ro-gan calls and says they need another person to participate because Vevillaughs jus dropped. So..... I make some teams on the fly. Took about 10 minutes making restricted teams by the limited amount of figs I had plus Sinister from 3 battle royales.

Lost to Stevie D in the first round in a hockey/rugby heroclix match. Badly. Took out HailEris in a Prostitute on the corner scenario. In his regards he deserved fellowship. Played an all doctors team of Light, Professor Crane, Midnight, and Psycho. Played Darius Dax in a Snakes on a Mother F-ing Plane scenario in a woman's prison. Fun!!!!!

Last was a battle royale. 8 teams on the small map. Played by very drunk guys. It was nuts. Went 3-1. Stevie D won, repeating as DHC Champ and Hail got Fellowship. Both deserved. Heck, Stevie was crying he was so happy. there was something about drunk math and points but honestly I think Stevie D won. The man deserved it.

What's up Team Vegas! Not to get all mushy on you guys, but I really have a great time playing ALL you guys week after week. Yesterday's tournament was a shining example. The play level of our venue has gotten so much better in the last few months that we actually take it for granted sometimes. When it comes to team building/strategy, the newer players have improved leaps and bounds, while the vets keep having to prove and solidify their place in the pecking order. No matter what the final score of a game is, if you're up against a Team Vegas member, you know you were in a fight. We bring the pain! ALL of us!!

What really puts a smile on my face is that no matter how badly we whup on each other, we still have a fun time in each other's company. We laugh and joke in the early rounds while finding a way to exploit the weak spot in the opponent's team. We have an unspoken code of ethics. I have never seen or experienced a Team Vegas member cheating or bending the rules, and as a former envoy myself, that is rare. We all want to win. In addition, we all wanna win the right way. It is not a battle for some LE; it is a battle for weekly supremacy!

I know I'm gushing, but you guys deserve the credit that is due you. Screw an LE. I show up every Thursday because that is the one day of the week that I'm allowed to feel and act like a kid. You cats make that possible. You put up with my wonderfully distasteful jokes, and you guys play your hearts out whether the prize is an LE Jervis Tetch, LE Doombot, or no damn LE at all! Just wanted you guys to know I respect everyone's individual play style and the pride that is exhibited week to week.

Wuzzup Bubblehead. Don't sweat it. I think what folks kinda forget is that Heroclix is a game involving dice. Some games, no matter how well strategized are just not winnable (is that a word?) with garbage dice rolls. In addition, only the insane think that a game is a measure of manhood or intelligence. People who play know who's good, who's great, and who's terrible. From what I hear, you're a damn good player. IMO, some people put a little too much stock in one particular game in which they won, but not enough stock in the several games they lost.

Well it has been 35 posts since I was last on this thread. That amounts to 2 weeks not going to the computer lab and being very busy during the day with my business and at night with the guys. Too much has been said and discussed to try and respond to it all. Here is the abridged version:

It looks like Sleazy showed us his softer side.
Dave got screwed in Chicago. We all owe his judge a junk shot!
I won 2 weeks in a row at the minor venue. I need the LEs. Nova Blasting Brainiac and Sentinel/Sinestro.
Sentinel/Sinestro: 14 figs fought. 12 captures. 1 KO. 1 Left Standing.
The attendence at The Island keeps growing!
WHAT.....YEEAAH.....OKAY!!!!!
No more flame wars with outsiders - Captain's Orders!
Stevie D is still an a sshole in my book.
The name Hawkeye Gaming Group just sounds like they like touching little boys.

This Weeks Tournaments:
Major - Clone Saga. 600pts unrestricted. You must have at least one duplicate of each of your figures on your team.
Minor - Ladies Night. 300pts unrestricted. All figures must be female. No HSS, Transporters, ICw/O, Nova Blast (wait, that will be added next month).

Team Vegas Hats:
New Jeff you earned you hat when you jumped on 2 grenades for me at The Island. If anyone wants hats let me know, I can make another run. $25 for hat, $30 if you want a name on the side.

Well that didn't take long. My thread was deleted. lol Here is what it said. It was posted on the DS Hardware board.

Ok so my friend is a die hard Sony fan boy and as such, won't have anything to do with the DS. I'm not on either side of the isle but for reasons I'll illustrate here I went with the DS. We argue almost everyday but here are a few of the main points.

My friend says that the PSP is making a comeback because people are catching on that it has a great library of games, more media choices, customization and better graphics. I countered the DS is lower in price and has sold over 21 million units compared to Sony shipping just over 20 million. That's a million unit lead for Nintendo. Just try stacking a million DS's from end to end and you'll get a good idea of how big a lead that is. Sony, should just concede defeat now and give up. A million units is a lead you can't catch up to.

My friend says he can play MP3's on his psp. I say MIDI is the superior format because most games have a BMG list you can just listen to in game music on a loop, who needs MP3?
My friend says he can download movies and convert them to play on his psp. Convert them? Pshhh please. I say if I want video, I'll watch TV at home AND with GBA video carts, I can get all my favorite shows like Fairly odd parents and sponge bob. Sure I'm a grown man and sure people look at me funny for liking sponge bob but if I really cared about what people think, I wouldn't be playing a DS. Ok so the video is grainy and it costs like $30 for 2 episodes but at least I don't have to buy a memory card.
My friend says that the dual screen is just a gimmick and there too small. I say, there's a reason cell phone games sell so well. I would argue that the PSP's screen is too big and too clear, I don't know where to concentrate because I'm always looking all over, back and forth. Who needs all that space? At least with my DS, the screens don't really detract from playing the game because it's basically like 2 cell phone screens stacked so all the action is easy to keep track of. Small is better.
He says the PSP is aesthetically more pleasing than DS. I say since my DS lite looks like a cosmetic compact, girls are more likely to come up to me to see if they dropped there make up.
And don't get me started on games. With carp coming out for the PSP like Grand Theft Auto:Vice City Stories, LocoRoco, Final Fantast VII: Crisis Core, Metal Gear Solid Portable Op's and Ultimate Ghost and Goblins, there is no competition when compared to the upcoming DS exclusives like, Pokemon Dungeon, the Madagascar/Shrek SuperSlam Bundle (2 games for one low price!), Bratz: Forever Diamondz and Danny Phantom: Urban Jungle. You can't get those on PSP. Who friggin' cares about another Final Fantasy VII rehash, been there, done that like 10 years ago! Metal Gear? Metal Please. Give me Shrek any day.

I think I clearly out argued him but he's so persistent, I think I'll widdle him down eventually.

I'll say one thing, that is the longest post I have EVER seen Bad write. I guess that is a topic that he is passionate about. In fact, some thursdays he would rather play his PSP than play HeroClix. And look at his sig, he has a link to a video game website. What's going on here Bad, are you a video geek or a gamer?!?

I think you should spend less time focusing on video games and more on you Clix game. Your game could use a little brushing up. And if you are looking for some secondary games to keep you from getting burnt out on HeroClix may I suggest Clout, Munchkin, or the newest game on the market, DreamBlade.

Of course, this comes from a guy who is content playing Backgammon on his cell phone.

Also bought a starter pack of Axis and Allies. Taking your advice Lucky and branching out before I start HATING Wizkids more than I should.

Well Bad proved once again how much of a dirtbag he is. He Muscled his way to a first place victory leaving the rest of the players crying and cleaning their underwear. 600pts = 2 Vet Icons Superman, 2 Fortitudes, 2 Protecteds, 2 Paramedics, and an Earthquake to boot! What's next, kicking them in the ribs when you miss an attack roll!?!

Other players need to follow Bubblehead's example. Clix is great, and will always be my number one game, but sometimes you can just get burnt out. There are plenty of other minis games out there that won't cost alot to try out (because I know how expensive CCGs can be). Axis & Allies is a great system. SWM and D&DM are a good system, espically if you roll play d20. DreamBlade looks promising. I know alot of mini games have come and gone (WizKids contribution noted), but it doesn't hurt to give something a try.

I know most of you guys are comic book readers that play a game, but give some love to a gamer who reads comic books. And playing video games does not count as being a gamer.

Why hasn't any one else put their location on the Google Map??? We need to start showing people the strength of the west coast population of clix players. If you're afraid to let people know where you live, go buy a dog!

Minor Venue Report:
Nova Blast is definatly Tits. I have a feeling Don will ban that card for next month. With all the restrictions it is the most powerful mechanic available. I ran a Nova Blasting Polaris, Ben ran a Blasting Empress. Two weeks ago we both ran a Nova Blasting Brainiac and Ben also had a Blasting Empress on his team. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this for a while.

I went 2-1 and so did Ben. Only lost when the Blast failed. I missed Tim's Phoenix by 1. Bye, bye game. Agh! My archnemesis gets me again! Altough my Con Artist did Crit Hit Songbird!

Kinda got lost for a while, Lucky ended up redirecting me here. I thought the Vegas thread got decimated for the 'Screw Fellowship' ways and the rebellious nauture Vegas brings to the table. I'm pleasantly wrong.

But man! all this Nova Blasting and I'm here in the Desert with Big Pink Nimrod, no one used Nimrod for that scenario though? that's weird.

I'm catching up on this thread, and now I'm just really jonesing for some clix. I'm already trying to get more figures while I'm here. Somehow, or someway. I think getting a 2nd Oracle WILL suck. And I think Getting Robot and the GG TA card will kind of suck as well, as I'm making, yet another, front loaded team...but with Robot and Dr. Light. Still building the Professor X 'LAMP' team....but more out of novelty, and just to try it out. I'm gearing a little more toward the Robot team...and REALLY hoping that the new Surfer is exactly 200 points or less (with Cosmic TA + Transporter....only one can hope)....I just want another excuse to use Ambush Bug.

Who has sprung for the Invincible set? Knowing you guys, I am going to assume just about everyone, as a wild shot in the dark.

And who in Vegas is using Madness? I thought fun feats weren't allowed?!

Good to see everyone in Vegas is still in complete competitive spirit.
Afghanistan is hot and everything is still intact. And I'm definately getting some new clix while I'm over here. I don't think I can wait for that till I get home

As most of you are aware, there has been some trouble with the status of Dreamland and it has caused problems with getting prize support. Well here is a more expanded version of the situation.

About 5-6 weeks ago the status of the venue was changed from "active" to "retired". This prevented me from signing up for new approved play events and having prize support sent. All I was able to find out was that WizKids recieved "a report" that Dreamland shared the same address as Kools. Since then I have been trying to resolve the situation.

The problem is that I cannot get any kind of response from WizKids. I have sent them a dozen emails with only one response being sent back. The response was short and cryptic and brought up more questions than it answered. In the email was a phone number to call. I have called and left over 10 messages with no return phone calls. The final step I took was sending an email to every email address on the WizKids website. It is posted next.

This is where we stand now. Thursday's tournament will be the last one held at Dreamland Hobbies. Due to my complaint emails and the final one I sent I do not see them reinstating Dreamland's status. More importantly, their treatment of me has really turned me off from the company. I don't want the hassle of them anymore. I have one final tournament to judge, then I am taking a break from Clix and WizKids for a while.

So lets give our venue a proper Team Vegas send off thursday!!! We'll have beer and pizza and party because we are the best damn Clix player's in the country!!! We'll send her off in style. She derserves nothing less.

Dear WizKids,

This is to inform the company of the final tournament
at the venue Dreamland Hobbies. The status of my
venue was changed to retired approximately 5 weeks
ago. This was done based on an unsubstantiated report
that was not investigated at all and without
notification to the venue owner or the primary envoy.
Since then I have been unable to contact anyone at
WizKids about this problem. My emails and phone calls
have gone unanswered.

This is no way for your company to treat a quality
venue of 4 years. It is a very disrespectful way to
treat an envoy of 3 1/2 years who happens to be the
first ever Wizard World Invitational Champion.
Because of this myself and my players will no longer
be playing this game on the convention level and
myself and most of my players will no longer be
purchasing product of any kind from your company.
Losing only 10 players may not seem like a big deal to
the company, but if that is your attitude, there is
something very wrong with the leadership of WizKids.

If you feel the need to discuss this situation
further, you may call me at (702) 524-3933.

Sincerely,

Roland P. Wellington

This is indeed grim news. First my free high speed internet goes away and now this. Truly, my heart is heavy.

We as a collective whole are losing so much more than a venue. We are losing the gathering. We are losing a tradition. We are lost. Perhaps most troubling, are team is lost. It's true, we will continue to see each other, yes and, there will still be get togethers and Fridays (hopefully not at the island) and friendly exhibition games. I'm sure there will be all that and more. And yet sadly, it will never feel the same, nay!, never be the same. We are giving up something precious of that, do not mistake.

There is no more team Vegas. There can be no team without a home. So as of this Thursday, after the final game of HC I give up my team membership indefinately or until we find another home, and as such, am retiring my hat, ID and signature. It's been a fun ride and you guys are the best Heroclix players in the world. I would like to thank our beloved El Capitan for putting in 3+ years of hard work, dedication and love. It would not be possible without the man and his consistant leadership, guidance and unquestioning friendship. Kudos and job well done.

And yeah, Envoy of the best venue in Vegas, wins WWLA, and we get snubbed? Do I have to start questioning how Wizkids does things like how I used to question UDE when I played Yugioh. I really freakin hope not.

So is Vegas completely done away with clix? is Kool Collectables still running games?

Thanks to a PM from Bubblehead, I found this thread. I don't think he meant this one, though. Either way, I didn't know it existed.

I live in Vegas, play clix with my friends, use my own rules, don't really go to venues. However, everytime I try to find some clix to buy, it seems like no one is selling - because they say no one is buying. It's nice to know there are other players here.

Just for clarity, is Dreamland open? A couple of months ago I was going to go there to see if they had any good singles, and they appeared to be closed down. I called a couple of times after that, and I don't recall if I got a disconnect or a no answer, but either way never spoke with anyone. Were they on vacation or something?

Shield001
08/24/2006, 20:44
Dark Tower comics and Kool Kolectables are the only places I Know of in vegas that sell clix now (and dark tower doesnt get that much (like 1 case) so they sell out in a month or so I believe)

Beck
08/24/2006, 21:38
Dark Tower had the LE Sue Storm in their case for a while. The one time I wanted to get it, it was gone, that's what I get for waiting 2 months.

However, I DID get the Vet Lockjaw that sat in there for freakin EVER.

I didn't know they had boosters, I knew they had the nigh useless singles.

Try going to Comic Oasis, they have boosters. And I THINK Tim Bohl's comic Oasis has them too. I know they have singles, but they're kinda stagnant.
They had a Galactus at one point, charging 250 bucks for it. Not anymore, obviously.

There's also some Indy starters at Gameworld on Spring Mountain + Durango. If anyone cares about Indy

Also, throwing it out there, if anyone gets the Invincible set and DOESN'T want Robot and/or the card that comes with it. LMK.

FINALLY, I get a few moments to check out this message board - starting back at page 14 and reading up to the present - and to what end? The demise of TEAM VEGAS (temporarily, I hope) is truly disheartening. As all of you that have trashed my many teams know :) it has always been for me not winning, but a chance to enjoy a few hours each Thursday night with fellow clix gamers. It was the NGN Supes that first drew me into the group, but it has been the group that has kept me coming back. Thank God my wife has her own hobbies to keep her busy when I've been out. Unfortunately, Saturdays do not work for me and I'm not sure it would be the same anyhow.

I sincerely hope El Capitan is able to start a new venue at his own shop soon, but I wonder if the distance from Vegas to Henderson will affect attendance.

I'll now keep current with checking these posts and look forward to the Phoenix rising again.

Team Vegas Welcome:
JIM, THE OLD MAN! I guess you finally got over your fear of technology and got on this fancy thing they call the Internet. It's great to have you on the thread, and I'm glad you were a part of our weekly tourney. You definetly added a different dimension to our little group. Thanks for the sentiments. Don't worry, we'll be back before you know it. And if you ever want to get away from the wife for a little bit call me.

Wintremute welcome to the offical voice of Las Vegas on the Realms. Unfortunatlly you have me representing you, the brass at WizKids don't like me much right now. It takes guts to show everyone that you live in Las Vegas on the Google Map. Other members of my team should follow your example! Just tell everyone it's not your fault you live in the same town as me, they'll understand. If you ever want to get together and play clix with us sometime let me know.

Venue Retirement Update:
I actually recieved an email today from WizKids Venue Support. It was response to one of my earlier emails I sent. It was a bunch of lip service about their policies and wanting us to remain an active supporter of their product. Too little, too late. It talked about a backlog of emails due to the convention season and that's why he was so late in responding. If that is the case, I can't wait until he reads some of my recent emails and the final cuex de gra FU email. I wonder if he will feel the same way after he reads those?

A Travesty:
FYI, a goos friend and supporter of Team Vegas, ro_gan, had his judgeship revoked by WizKids. It was due to an inncident during WWChicago. Late one night Luke was ragging on the Omaha Boys. In his drunken stuper he flashed them his front side. All good, clean, hetero fun. Well, the Omaha Boys were also hanging out with those douchebags from Iowa. The Iowa group also got to see Luke's flashing. Well the idots took major offense, like they don't see a man's balls on a regular basis, and wrote a complaint letter to WizKids. Two days later, Luke is no longer a judge. Another stellar decision by the WizKids leadership. I hate to see where this company is in a year. And for those Iowa douches, we owe them big time!

Island Update:
Speaking of a man's balls, I offically left my nuts on stage this past Friday at the Island. It occured during Heart of Rock and Roll by Hewey Lewis and the News. They were dropped next to Bad's, Sleazy's, and New Jeff's. Tim still has his firmly attatched. His man crush on Rob Thomas prevents him from letting go.

Team Vegas may have a few loose ends to tie up by the end of the year. WWTX is Nov 10-12, fri thru sun. After some phone conversations with Bubblehead and ro_gan we have some things to take care of down there.

1. Annihilate the Hawkeye Gaming Group at Clix!

2. Beat the living s hit out of those boy touching douchebags from Iowa. Between what they did to Luke, and what they have said about us online and to people at Chicago, they deserve a good fight. Old Jeff I'm looking to your Kung Fu!

3. Leave our nuts on the table and remind everyone how to play Vegas Style!

4. Have a face to face with the WizKids brass about their treatment of us and our venue. Junk Shots may ensue.

5. Hand in our Player Cards after the Con and declare our retirement from the game. And our subsequent jump to DreamBlade.

Look at your schedules now and see what you can do. I know I said my Nov is packed, but if this is something we have to do, then I am there. But I'm not going alone. This is a Team event or nothing at all.

Many moons ago... a group of warriors from the East, the West, the South, the Midwest even gathered to meet. They were the greatest warriors and tactiticians of their respective regions. Fate brought them together as they gathered them under one banner. The banner read "Team Vegas". These brave souls from all walks of life and of various ages have been destined to tear asunder the basic concepts of Heroclix dirtbagdom. They were reviled yet respected across the many lands for their flare for the dramatic and their "junk shot" attitude in regards to fellowship. Nigh, to these epic demigods, fellowship is blasphemous and for the weak who cannot hunt the mighty LE on their own. :disappoin

In the month of November, the moons shall align themselves with the heavenly sphere of Jupiter the greatest champions and vilest cutthroats of the Heroclix community shall battle for Heroclix supremacy. To arms! To arms! Fate has conspired to call us to arms! Reread the first paragraph if you must! To Texas we must go! Request your vacation days now! Victory shall be ours! WE WANT YOU!

I'm thinking of maybe joing onto the Dreamblade bandwagon.

Are there any places in Vegas that would hold tournaments for it, and on the same note. Is there any proof or anything that shows that this won't be a flash-in-the-pan game like Hecatomb? I just looked online and Scarab Warcharms are going for 30-50 bucks a pop. Wow.

Shield001
09/05/2006, 17:47
Kool Kollectables I believe will hold tourneys for it, they also are holding horrorclix tourneys.

As for it being a flash in the pan, I want to say yes (even if its fun) because it doesnt have a major license (not that one is needed but it usually helps and so far there really hasn't been a successful game with out one). But you never know, I have my doubts about that and horror clix but only time will tell.

Beck
09/06/2006, 08:31
I just read up on how Dreamblade works, and I agree. It does look fun. My biggest complaint is one of the big ones I had with Yugioh:

black market prices for rares are ATROCIOUS!!! 40-50 for Scarab warcharm? What the?!

However, the prize support Wizards has should boost it a bit.

If I can build a couple Chessmaster variant teams for under 250 bucks, I'll play

Also, if anyone can get their hands on 2-4 extra Scarab Warcharms, and is willing to wait till the middle of October (for me to come back). I'll buy them from you! I actually am making a shopping list of figures I need so if you have any extras, let me know! Again, I'M WILLING TO BUY (and maybe trade some clix. I do have KC Flash, Spiral, and Oracle....)

FYI: There's a 1K in Sunset Station on October 14th. If I do want to go through with playing this game, and I can get my hands on the appropriate pieces. I am so hitting this up.
Only thing is, I'll have been at home for less than 48 hours, maybe less. And NO playtesting under the belt. Oh god this is going to get insane

Dreamblade: Comic Oasis has mentioned running events, but they claim no one is interested.....I think they just aren't pushing hard enough. I really hope it catches on, we really need a non clix game to play. I also think the market will balance out a bit. 1-The game is still new 2- we haven't seen any results from event's yet....

I am down for Horror clix....I've spent about 125 so far and I am not letting it go to waste just because some of you losers won't play if it's not Heroclix. I like the game, and to hell with you all!

Beck
09/07/2006, 23:52
Comic Oasis has given the same treatment to Hecatomb, Duel Masters, Heroclix, and now Dreamblade. Oasis isn't exactly run by the most willful of souls. They usually just run tournaments if it's popular enough. They ran like 3 Duel Masters tournaments and then it died. You MIGHT have better luck with Gameworld on Spring Mountain+Durango. I'd be almost shocked if they didn't house a tour nament for Dreamblade, as they are a pretty hardcore WOTC store.
As far as Comic Oasis goes, if I remember correctly, one of them told me that if you get at least 8 people for a game, they'll run tournaments.

I'll play when I get back, it's all a matter of what day they schedule it on.

New Jeff

Well I just spent $130 on DreamBlade at coolstuffinc.com. One Starter, and one case of boosters (12 packs), shipping included. This is going to be one of my (our) alternate games to HeroClix. Every other game I introduced was shot down. I refuse to spend more money on a new WizKids product. So DreamBlade it is!

There doesn't have to be an active venue in town to play this game. My house is as good as anyplace. Besides this is a WoTC game, the tournaments won't have that great prize support. The tournamnets are only played for DCI ranking.

GenCon here we come! $20,000 tournament!

We have two months to become masters at this game. It begins now.

I want to go to the Gencon, but if it was any other weekend, I would go.

Also, it's played for tournament ranking AND money.

Hey, when you get invincible, are you going to need robot?

As for Dreamblade, oh man. I'm trying to construct a quick reference guide for myself of all the rules with little FAQ stuff not mentioned in the rulebook.

The best way to describe it, simply, is referencing it to clix
-No point totals, just have a team that's UP to 16 characters (which besically means, build a team of 16).
-All players make 2 moves, from which I have interpreted, consist of either MOVING all your figures, or attacking with any that are legally able to attack. If you want, you could go balls ballistic and just have a turn of straight onslaught.
-The dice system is....weird, in an interesting way. It's a 6 sided dice, 2 sides represent a miss, 3 sides are a 1, 2, and a 3 to represent damage, and then the last side is some weird sword thingy that's kine of like 'mana' for special abilities. If you have played magic, the way battle damage works is VERY VERY similar (deal enough damage in one turn to a creature, it's fried).

The game boasts that it bears resemblance to chess. And after some thinking, it kind of does. As far as 'controlling the center', and especially how the archetype is right now. Positioning, right now positioning in the game is the TITS!

Oh, and Scarab Warcharm is the tits right now
It's price on the secondary market: NOT tits.....let's say ebay is happy I'm a customer. Oi vey

I will be keeping my robot thank you.

Do you know if the starters have random figures? And how much are the starters ? (for dreamblade)

EDIT: I just played an online demo of Dreamblade, it was pretty fun, too bad the boosters are expensive $15 and $30 for a starter!! I can barley afford 52 at $2.50 !!

oh well thats what ebay is for I guess lol...

heres a link to the demo http://www.wizards.com/dreamblade/demo/demo.asp

EDIT 2: Well I just bought a starter and a few figs that looked cool online so hope we all like this game alot lol

Dreamblade starter I received had random figures in it. My rare was Heartsblood Temple. Probably not worth anything.

Haven't had a whole lot to say to team Vegas lately. Hope all you guys are doing well and don't let the Man get you down. Remember, friends don't let friends win fellowship.

And sorry to hear Eric and the Browns lost the bet. Hope "Like A Virgin" suits the mood when you belt it. :p

Something wierd happened today. I actually looked at my HeroClix figures. I know I said I was taking a break, but when insomina hits and you are up for 20+ hours you run out of things to do. I can only master bate so much in a given night. So at 4:30am, after a Jack-in-the-Box run I turned to my HeroClix.

I started by putting away all the figs from when we played at my house 2+ weeks ago. Then I just started thinking about teams for Texas (or as Sleazy likes to call them, Ohio State's b itch!). Is Hawkeye the best thing out there? What will the Collector Set's offer? Will somebody from Team Vegas get a Superman Robot already so I can look at it!

I can say this. KC Flash and Nova Blasting Empress will never win a Con. Flash gets hit too randomly and Empress can't hit Flash consistantly.

Damn it was a crappy weekend for Florida football. My Hurricanes and Bucs didn't do s hit. Lets hope the 'Canes can handle Louisville at their place without thier RB. And the Bucs have always handled Vick.
TB +6pts...Tits!

And sorry to hear Eric and the Browns lost the bet. Hope "Like A Virgin" suits the mood when you belt it. :p
Thanks to the Saints victory over Cleveland Bad gets to pick Sleazy's song on Friday. This will be a classic. Anyone who wants to witness this just be at the Fun Hog.

My DreamBlade shipped Monday. Pow wow with Shield and New-Jeff when it gets here!

All right, just ebayed my entire team for tournament play.

I will say this, I HATE Scarab Warcharm. As D.B. probably has the most LOPSIDED secondary market value on their figures (Scarab goes for 70 bucks a pop on ebay, the next thing that comes close is 15-maybe 20).

I think KC Flash COULD win a con, if people would throw Fortitude on him and not use Oracle, as I don't think she's THAT vital, I'll use those 2 extra points on something.

You guys have been to cons and seen real competitive KC flash teams, does he get outwitted often?

can anyone else edit their posts here? just curious since Lucky asked me (I figured everyone could)

I did get my superbot, if your available ill bring it by saturday for you to look at.

On a side note (IE not mini/football related note) Lucky, are you going to the time spiral prerelease? Ben and I are planning on it, its the same place it was for the Guildpact prerelease (at least magic hass good prereleases unlike a certain other game that we sometimes play)

For those thinking about going to Texas:

Talked to Lucky last night but if for some reason your competitive team needs a Superman robot, I've got a loaner. So no worries just let me know to bring it when the time arrives.

That is all......

And I'd never pay 70.00 for a gamepiece that has just started up. Who knows if it'll take off or tank just yet?

Well, well, well... I am still going to our other(shudder) venue and still winning the prizes I want. Deffinitely TITS! Though the scenarios leave something to be desired... it's currently the only game in town. So Lucky are we going to Palm Desert for the pre-release? that is the weekend of my birthday! Sleazy hows it hanging? Mike Supernova has you play style ALL over it! Still see New Jeff and the twins but thats all. Mis all the fun we used to have! A few quotes...Lasurus pit plus Vendetta...NOT TITS! Stunning blow plus knockdown...TITS! See you in the funny pages!:p

Ok, So clix appears to have bombed on the support end.. as well as the crappy sets that have been produced recently. I can deal with that. Altho I must say that getting both Vision and Sauron at the Antique mall for a whopping $4.00 was definitely Tits.

Dreamblade, eh? Now I have to look at buying yet another game... great. *laughs* Not doing much game buying at all right now, as I just bought a house in Texas and am in the process of moving. Hope to see you guys at GenCon SoCal.

PS. Someone tell Lucky to call me back as I haven't been able to get in touch with him for over a week.

lol, I think I'm gonna give Dreamblade a try. Saw Lucky and New Jeff playing last night, and the game seemed pretty balanced. It is so different from Clix that it would be a good backup game.

Capt. Marvel is ok. Nothing con worthy, but a decent mid-level piece. The E is way too quirky for the cost imo. The Vet is just overpointed. Loving that Iron Man NGN fig though.

Don't think I'll be playing Horrorclix though. Ain't my cup of tea. Look forward to seeing ya on Saturday. (Hangover notwithstanding.)

Hi'ya Sleazy.

Is there enough room at Kool's for one more person? My wife is just starting a painting class and I thought I'd drop by. of course I can't wait to play horrorclix, since nothing is banned yet lol

I might play HC again but not for a bit (unless I can suddenly use man of steel or hawkeye or you know...good pieces, I hate paying for stuff I cant use)

As for dreamblade its really is a fun game, maybe one day all 4 of us will get together and play, to bad at the moment its strictly a 2 player game.

OH! MY! GAWD!!!!!!!!!

Just got home from playing Clix at Kools. Those kids playing Horror Clix are so annoying (not you Shield). "Did too." "Did not." "Uh-huh." "Na-ah." "Yes you did." "No I didn't." "Ma-ahm" "Daaa-ad!!" Too much. But, until "Captain, My Captain" makes other arrangements, guess I'll have to settle for Day Care Clix. Found out that the next few weekends are free for me 'cuz the wife's art class runs 4 weeks.

Kudos to New Jeff for winning the enchilada today. Magneto with Trick Shot runs the table 3-0. :)

Wish I had known about the venue's house rules. Not cool to show up and find out that half your team has to be cut before the game starts. Fortunately I had my 1000+ duplicates in the back of my truck and could put together a second stringer in 15 minutes!

Next week is "Robots"?!! (scratchin' my head). I just hope the brats don't show up at the Day Care. Hey, a man can dream, can't he????!!!!!!!

See I love the little guys and gals if they're playing and wanting to learn.....and the biggie.....PAYING ATTENTION. Which usually isn't the case but you try and make the best of it. I hear ya, Bat Sentry. It can be grating. Luckily I have a 2 y.o. who's given me lots of preparation for such occasions.

And Magneto with Trickshot? C'mon...no one just based the dork with 2 defenders to take away the Trickshot? Seems like Trickshot is pretty prevalent in the tournies up there.

Here's what I won with today:

V Spidey (Sin) + LuckyBreak,Nanobots,Tbolts,ICwO
Pole Dancer Spidey + ICwO
HoM Spidey + ICwO,Pummel,Pounce
V Ult Spidey

with a 1 time 100 pt back up of

Spidey 2099 w/ Protected

Came away with 1st place and the highly sought after :cheeky:

Dr. Chen Lu!!!!!!!!!

And then I came home to find my 2nd LE Venom staring at me.

Good day for clixing!!!!!!!!!

Go Seahawks!
