View Full Version : Please rate these Avengers Teams...
Hi.
I consistently run the Avengers in HeroClix. I feel that they are the best team to field for the point value.
Anyway...I was looking for some criticism/opinions on how to upgrade my two 300 point Avengers-only Teams.
Here they are...
Team #1
Black Panther (Rookie): 27 points
Captain America (Veteran): 62 points
Hawkeye (Veteran): 64 points
Hercules (Veteran): 83 points
Quicksilver (Experienced): 24 points
Scarlet Witch (Veteran): 40 points
TOTAL POINT VALUE: 300 points
Team #2
Black Panther (Rookie): 27 points
Captain America (Veteran): 62 points
Hulk (Rookie): 103 points
Quicksilver (Experienced): 24 points
Scarlet Witch (Veteran): 40 points
Wasp (Unique): 44 points
TOTAL POINT VALUE: 300 points
Thanks in advance...

...they LOOK sound..granted I really dun play avengers m'self... but I'd think vision might suit better than cap, quicksilver and hawkeye... phasing, super strength, and the click of invuln make for a rather nasty combo... plus he's perfectly capable of snatching up herc and hauling tail through a building inside where enemies may be hiding, yessss???

team #1 is the better Team. Its almost the equivalent of Avengers back in 1968, just before the Vision was introduced. The Second team I don't recall ever being assembled. I have no idea which one would play better but team #1 is a better historical model

I like your teams, Avengers definitely rock!
BP, Quicksilver, and Wasp are the staples of any good Avengers team. However, I'm not sold on Hawkeye or Hulk or even Capt America. Hawkeye's multiple targets are nice but it works better with sheild or something to boost damage, since it is normally one; and his RCE for two doesnt get past Inv w/o help either so I think he's def a multi attacker and wont fit on your team. Hulk is okay, but not a real threat...maybe his vet version but even that is easily dealt with. Capt is on the fence...I see the value and powers he brings to the table but w/o a real heavy hitter on your team, well I'd be willing to part with him if I needed the points. And Hercules is great, but I think it's nice to have a medic on the team if you use him, as his defense is rather low.
Do you have any of the big Avengers such as She Hulk, Thor, Vision, or Quasar? If so I'd try to work in one or two. Personally, I like Quasar and vet She Hulk. Q can taxi her or TK her into the fray and then lay down solid RCE cover fire, or barrier. Thor is a true wrecking ball w/ his Running shot and endless dial and stats, but a bit pricey. And Vision is a great value, and a very consistent dial - very useful.
How about:
Quasar 122
Herc 83
Wasp 44
BP 27
QSilver 24
300 pts
Wasp flies Herc around, Q flies BP in for outwit followed by RCE blast. Silver chases...

Hi.
Mr. forbush-man. If you are looking for something historical, try this Avengers line-up from Avengers, Volume #1, Issue #16...
Captain America (Veteran): 62 points
Hawkeye (Veteran) 64 points
Quicksilver (Experienced): 24 points
Scarlet Witch (Veteran): 40 points
TOTAL POINT VALUE: 190 points
Hmmm... the first team is well-balanced, but slow. Quicksilver is your only character who can cover ground quickly and Hawkeye is the only character who can strike at a distance. If he gets taken out, you're very vulnerable to people standing back and shooting.
As for the second team, keep in mind that you potentially have no heavy hitter and that you're relying on the Cap to do ranged damage. What I would do is s#### the Hulk entirely. A smart player will just ignore him while you try to push him into shape. Drop the Wasp to the Experienced version in order to free up 11 points. From there, replace the Hulk with the Rookie Thor. He's a much more serious threat and he'll give you another flyer to help with mobility. Use the remaining points to upgrade the Cap to Hawkeye. His 10 range and Running Shot will make him a much more serious ranged threat and help him take down supporting figures from comparative safety.

Here's my favorite Avengers team that won a tournament.
Vision
V-Wasp
V-Hercules
V-Quicksilver
V-Scarlet Witch
Vision carried Herc, Wasp carried Quicksilver. The 1-2 combo of Herc and then Quicksilver was pretty deadly, especially with my rerolls to make sure I hit. Vision was definitely a great asset because he took a lot of punishment before he went down. Both Vision and Hercules can take punishment without losing much off their attack and damage.

Ok then...How about this team:
vet She Hulk 120
r Thor 109
u Wasp 44
r BP 27
------
300
It's late so someone check the math, but I think that would work. In fact I might have to try this one out myself!

V Hawleye is not a good figure. He is to many points. E Captain America is better than Veteran because of the stealth ability. Granted if you are in the middle of a brawl the veteran is better but no where else
