View Full Version : Poison
I heard somewhere that poison can not be redused by Damage reducing abilities. I went to check Wizkids FAQ and they mentioned every ability but Poison? So does anyone know?

poison ISNT affected by impervious but IS affected by toughness and invulnerable its just in the wording for the powers impervious requires a rolled attack wich you dont use for poison and toughness/invuln just reduce all damage

Poison cannot be reduced by toughness/inv/imp abilities.
On the brightside, it cant be increased either
At least that's my understanding of the ability. Since the "poisoning" effect happens at the beginning of the turn, before any characters have the chance to make any action, Poison cannot be affected by any damage reducing or increasing abilities.
Poison is poison, and even super-invulerable guys can feel the pain of internal illness.

Metzgarob had it. Toughness and Invulnerability can reduce damage from super powers, and so Poison is useless against either of those powers. Both Super Senses and Impervious, however, require that there be an attack---Poison is not an attack and so neither of those defensive abilities is any good against Poison.

Keep in mind that powers which debuted in DC are only covered presently in the DC FAQ. Once you look there, the entry for Impervious already covers Impervious's inability to defend against Poison, and the basic PAC includes a provision for Toughness and Invulnerability---they can reduce damafe from "super power effects that inflict damage," which Poison fairly clearly is.
Whether it goes into the FAQ---who knows. But for the most part it's already covered.

This is from the DC FAQ under impervious:
Impervious has no effect on knockback damage generated by a Force Blast, “splash” damage generated by an Energy Explosion attack, or Poison damage. In none of these cases is the Impervious figure the target of an attack.
As for Super Senses, that is in the PAC:
When this character is successfully hit by a ranged or close combat attack, roll 1 six-sided die.

That was my arguement too.
Then I was told I was wrong by a JUDGE. Who am I to argue with a judge?
But I thank you for vindicating me.

When you said Outwit, you meant Impervious, right?
