Would you be interested in seeing 3-D objects added to the game that affected the individual in contact with it? Yes or NO and please explain. This poll is to incite debate and hopefully create a new dynamic for the game.
Here are some examples.
A device to increase movement (speed/range) like a motorcycle, flight ring, teleport pad,....
A weapon to increase range and/or damage like a gun, bow & arrow, power ring,....
An object to increase defense like a shield, force field belt, armor,...
Or even wildcard objects that can be determined by the judge before the game starts such as a genie's lamp, a mother box, magical objects,....

As long as it is comic accurate. yes. Kryptonite is the obvious one. If Superman or a Superman ally comes in contact with it.

I wouldn't want to see a street thug picking up a power ring and getting Green Lantern powers. But a street thug picking up a crow bar or shotgun would be comic accurate.
Sounds like a good idea in theory but I would worry that at least a few objects would become part of a truly broken combination.
This could work out if the costs are prohibitive enough and the more powerful objects require certain keywords or maybe even a specific character.

it would be nice to see them besides the other objects in play. With the web shooter ability giving use the web makers is cool but use it as an object like smoke cloud but its webbing.

In theory it sounds really cool. Perhaps easier to pick up than that darned Mjolnir.
Though these could perhaps become pretty broken, they could potentially be very fun.
I would be totally down for this. Legion flight ring! I think this could add alot of fun to the game. It would be cool if certain charaters could use objects differently. I.E. Bullseye gets more benifit from picking up a sniper rifle than does a thug.

Don't we already have these?

These sound more like the equipment or artifacts from Mage Knight than HeroClix objects.
Of course, we do have the Lanterns and Mjolnir . . .

If there was a random way of distributing these items, perhaps, but the way things are, people are just going to load up on the best ones. I'm tempted to suggest breaking open crates or searching through debris for the chance at an item. It's more of a videogame type mechanic, but what else is there? "Oh look, there's a rifle not four squares from my starting area! Who could've left that there?"
I hated the VS. card game for inaccurate situations... Aunt May with two handguns is no longer a comic book game. I need Heroclix to maintain a flavor of the source material. If I see Spider-Man chucking grenades, or Superman with an uzi, I'm done.
How about stealing items? Hit Cap with a critical and take his shield. He needs doubles to take it back. Take a power ring from anyone with the Green Lantern Corps keyword... Batman's batarangs... stuff like that.

I guess so as long as they're not overdone and costs are appropriate. It would be nice if they could be destroyed and dropped even if a character is holding them, too.
We need a dump truck in particular, so the Incredible Hulk can take a ride in it...

Gotta agree here. I'd like items with specific comic book theme. Such as:
Kryptonite: Light Object; a character with the Superman Enemy team ability can carry this item without having super strength; a character holding this item cannot be targeted by a charge or hypersonic speed attack from an opposing character named Superman or with the Superman Ally ability; adjacent characters named Superman or with the Superman Ally ability -2 to their defense; if an opposing character named Superman or with the Superman Ally ability is hit with an attack using this object, damage is penetraiting and two action tokens are placed on the opposing character after the attack.
Now, that one is a little long winded, but you can't say it's not accurate. Here's a more simple one:
Legion Flight Ring: Special Object; only a character with the Teen keyword can pick up this item; a character holding this item has the Flight ability until they are dealt 3 or more damage in a single attack.
Simple and comic accurate and, in my opinion, fun. That's how they should be.

A buddy of mine and I have discussed this before to the point of even actually looking in to making some for our store as custom prizes. We called them equipment cards.
The basic idea is that you pay a cost to add this to a figure and it lasts until the player decides to use it. here are a few that we came up with mind you this was before Hammer of Thor came out hence the Pym Particles. Anything in a Orange/Gold color was ment to be an LE so you could only have one per force.
List of Equipment that can be added to a figure
Flap Jacket
Reduce any damage dealt to this character by an additional one (does not reduce penetrating damage)
Cost: 15-20pts
Field Knife
This character can use blades/claws/fangs
Cost: 10-15pts
Jet Pack
This character has the wing speed ability but cannot use the carry ability.
Cost: 10-20pts
Grenade Belt
This character can use Energy Explosion as if it had a range of 6
Cost: 10pts
Flash-Bang Grenade Belt
This character can use Energy Explosion as if it had a range of 6
Instead of dealing damage normally, add one token to each figure who was successfully hit and place up to 4 smoke markers with one in the targeted characters square.
Cost: 15-20pts
Legion Flight Ring
Flight ability with carry
Cost: 15-25pts
Medical Field Kit
Support, heal a teammate two clicks
Cost: 10-15pts
Pym Particles
At the beginning of your turn choose to grow or shrink, the choice stays for one round.
Shrink: Replace this character’s defense value by +2 and their damage by -1, this character cannot use the carry ability, if this character has the Giant ability they now have a starburst instead
Grow: This Character gains the Giant Damage symbol and can use super strength. Replace this character’s speed and attack by +2.
Cost: 20-3pts
Image Inducer
Shape Change
Cost: 15-20pts
This a really bad idea. It's like making feats into 3-D objects. Getting rid of feats and BFCs was the second best thing that happened to Heroclix in the last few years (no.1 was coming back from the grave).

I'm all for more 3D objects, wether they effect characters or not.
As you describe them, many objects already affect the character carrying them so, my answer is yes. Leave special objects as they already are, affecting the battlefield, characters carrying them, characters against which they are used, characters near them or, all of the above.
The real question is, should there be character that can be used by characters with specific keywords, powers or TAs? Yes, I would like that as well.
Should there be objects that will negatively affect specific characters like Kryptonite for Superman, Supergirl, etc.? That would be OK, but in order to get use out of an object like that, you would need to know what your opposing team is in advance and that would increase 'scouting' at tournaments. I probably would never use such an object.
Should there be objects that give positive benefits to specific characters only? Again, that would be fine. I plan my objects to best hinder my opponents and help me already.

How about something that affects the target of the attack? Instead of damage the target gets -2 to defense or -2 to speed. That way teams that have a hard time taking down a large tent pole can use this to their advantage.
My reservations include wanting them to be widely available and avoiding "broken" combinations, as others have mentioned.
I wouldn't want them either taking up a character's place in a booster nor being added as an extra item to the booster as that would not only prompt the designers to go overboard with an imprudent rush of these things but it would almost certainly be a prelude to a booster price hike.
My suggestion is to restrict them to items included in starters and maybe the occasional; mail-away item.
Perhaps my biggest reservation, and why I may end up voting "no" on this, is that we'll end up seeing this getting into the prize support where the tendency will be to put the most desirable of them there. As I already object to prizes being characters and game elements with unique properties/configurations, this would only be another step in a bad direction.
So, while I like the idea in principle and would vote in favor of it were it to be carefully done only as starter set elements and mail-aways, I expect it to ultimately be implemented in regrettable ways, tilting me towards "no."

Kryptonite on every superman, but prime, for obvious reasons.
Kinda wished the lanterns affected keywords.
An interview with Glenn Beck for the red hulk, though it could just be an ipod light object...

As long as they stay far away from the Infinity Gauntlet.
Give it rules similar to Mjolnir except:
The character who successfully uses the Infinity Gauntlet wins the game as a free action

I always wanted something that would give a character flight, like a jet pack. But it may make the game a bit broken. Can you imagine a Green Scar flying towards you with no regard of his surroundings. That full movement charge is now unstoppable.
Why stop with generic, run-of-the-mill Kryptonite?
I've got an old issue of Jimmy Olsen where on the cover, he's freaking out Superman with a display of Kryptonite chunks in more colors than a rainbow (green, red, silver, gold, etc.).
That wide variety made for some wild and wacky Silver Age stories, back in the day. So, if we can have multi-color lanterns now, why not some multi-color Special K? And ohh, how I would have liked a spoonful back when Icons Supes was wreaking havoc!
But in terms of something that could be used by all the usual suspects and placed in a room, waiting to be picked up by ANY character, no super strength required, I'd LOVE to see a...candlestick.
Hey, if you don't like that one, you ain't got a Clue!;)
Infinity Gauntlet (Continual): When adjacent to this object, even if it is being carried, roll 2d6, on a roll of 11 or 12 the figure may pick up this object. If a figure is already carrying this object and the attempt to take it is unsuccessful, roll 1d6, on a roll of 1-3 2 clicks of unavoidable damage is dealt the the figure attempting to take this object. While in possession of this object, Once at the beginning of this player's turn, this figure can use the Power Cosmic TA and may select one each of the following any dial symbol, any power possessed by a figure on the map and any TA possessed by a figure and use it until your next turn begins. If you use this ability roll 1d6, if a 1 or 2 is rolled the character carrying this object is dealt 2 clicks of unavoidable damage. This object cannot be destroyed.

Those have been part of house rules for a LONG time.
You could make them if you wanted. Chances are I'll just use my own.

I've always been hoping for a Serpent Crown object.
