Well its hard. To have a good shield team, id usually use someone with the doom or spiderman team ability to copy the shield team ability. Id definitely have nick fury,a shield sniper, medic, mandroid armour and shield agent. I might put in ultron as he would be the main force in the team as well. :)

Yeah .... pass on Ultron. His huge cost sort of kills the idea of fielding a team of cheap expendables.

Shield's only real downfall (to me) is their lack of close-combat oriented figures. On the bright side, you should have plenty of figures, so one of them should always be free to shoot at whatever is tying up your Snipers, etc. I would suggest adding a Black Cat as well. Exp is very good, as she can boost damage with the Shield ability, but don't forget that the Vet version keeps PC even after she's been shot, and on her 4th click she gets PC and Stealth, which is a very awesome combination. Especially when you'll have a dozen figures to throw themselves into anything that tries to base her.

Another good fix is Exp Black Panther. His Outwit is very useful to a Shield team, and he serves as a good close-combat figure, which will be useful. Aside from those two, I think Shield can take care of their own without any trouble.

Sheild it up!

Try This:

Quasar U 122
Nick Fury U 62
Captain America E 47
Black Widow V or Logan E 50-49
Mandroid Armor E 32
Shield Sniper V 18
Shield Sniper V 18
Clay Quatermain U 22
Shield Medic V or E 16-15
Shield Trooper E 14

400 Pts

No Clay Quatermain? Put his points together with SHIELD TROOPER for a Mandroid Armor V for 36 pts.
Only the truely brave put the Widow on their teams... and win.

Only got 300 to play with?

Quasar U 122
Nick Fury U 62
Mandroid Armor E 32
Mandroid Armor E 32
SHIELD Sniper V 18
SHIELD Sniper V 18
SHIELD Medic V 16

300 Points

Only got 200 to use?

Nick Fury U 62
Mandroid Armor E 32
Mandroid Armor E 32
Clay Quatermain U 22
Sheild Sniper V 18
Shiled Sniper V 18
Shield Medic V 16

200 points on the money

No Quatermain? Yeesh get one! Or Sub him for upgrading the two Mandroids to Vet (8 pts) and adding a E Shield Trooper (14 pts)

Hope thse lead you to victory!

I've had some success with this team, although they've been themed games using only SHIELD against only Hydra (with no Wildcards) with a friend

U Nick Fury 62
2 Shield Snipers R 11 points each
2 Shield Snipers E 14 points each
2 Shield Troopers V 17 points each
Mandroid Armor R 28
Mandroid Armor E 32
Mandroid Armor V 36
Shield Agent E 12
Shield Medic E 15

total comes out to 269 points, so, you can obviously toss in some more guys if you want.

I also play S.H.I.E.L.D. quite often and I've posted my teams here before, so I won't bore people again, but here are some thoughts...

Obviously, you have actual SHIELD members to work with:
Nick Fury
Clay Quartermain
Gabriel Jones
Tia Senyaka

SHIELD Trooper
SHIELD Sniper
SHIELD Agent
SHIELD Medic
Mandroid Armor

Next, you have people that work closely with or were members of SHIELD.

Captain America (no explaination needed here)
Black Widow- Former SHIELD agent
Quasar- Ditto, and created by SHIELD
Wolverine/Logan- Good friend of Fury who works with him often (they even had a comic together).

Now I'd generally take Nick Fury and Clay Quartermain without question (and like it was stated, if you don't have Clay, find one). Next, I'd pick either two from: Cap, Logan, Black Widow or take Quasar.
Past that, you (IMO) need 1 mandroid for Nick and one for each of your added members. Maybe not for Quasar, but I'd still not go into battle without 2 mandroids.

Now that's the meat of the team. Let's say we're going for a 300 pt game. So we're starting with....
Nick Fury
Clay Quartermain
(my picks)
Captain America E
Logan E
Mandroid, R x3

That only leaves 36 pts left, which I'd put into:
SHIELD Sniper V
Tia Senyaka (or V SHIELD Medic)

And that's it. You might be able to get away with only 2 mandroids, but I've found that one for each 'big hitter' works best.
