So I was thinking about Dr. Manhattan and some folks' comments about him being one of the few figures who could be a duo on his own (splitting himself into multiples). On that track I figure he's one character that could easily break highlander rules and field in multiples. I wanted to do a team of just Manhattans, but they are pricey and very difficult to make a theme team if you use Zen-hattan. I put this team together on just to see it. The general theme is Manhattan working in the lab with some additional scientists (i.e. the Researchers). I tried to keep it restricted to Watchmen figures and generics as I didn't want the normal Scientist abuse (i.e Mr. Fantasic super-Perplex, etc.). I also made it Modren Age as I feel it will have a better chance without the other side being able to feat it up. I would be shocked if someone could pull it off just for the sheer number of Manhattan figures needed:

WM005 Dr. Manhattan 276
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WM011 Dr. Manhattan 105
WS003 Researcher 15
WS003 Researcher 15
WS003 Researcher 15
WME001 Intrinsic Field Experiment 15 40
Lantern Special Object (either Yellow or Blue) 5

total 996

I figure you have high attack values w/RS, a lot of Enhancement, a lot of giants to be sure to block LOF when you want it blocked, a lot of Barrier to help protect all the giants as needed, 5 theme team rerolls plus a natural PC, one beast to KO (Zen-hattan), +10 on a map roll to try to gain terrain advantage, Regen on half the team to try to prolong things (if it works; never seems to for me) and an ace-in-the-hole of the Field Experiment to let you bring another Manhattan in later. I'm sure there are 1000 point teams that could pick this apart, and it is lacking in support powers (namely Outwit). A heavy Stealth team will give it fits as the giants have to advance to close combat range with only one TK. I just think it would be awesome to see 7 (or 8 if the Experiment can bring a figure in) Dr. Manhattan figures on the board at one time.

Sadly I don't think I know 5 other local players who are buying the set to try to borrow figures.

Thoughts?

Jackal from the WoS set would be fun to use with this team. It also keeps it themey since he is also a scientist. Also he would be one less Manhattan to get your hands on..

CLONE MASTER: If two or more friendly characters adjacent to Jackal have the exact same name as one another, those characters can all use Shape Change if they can't already.

(works with all the Drs and researchers!)

He also provides the outwit and Researchers make a good MM target.

I was surprised they didn't do a duo of him. It would have been one of the few I would have been alright with as a Duo (I think there are too many figures that are just getting thrown on a base and called a duo)
