So does this mean that you can place a Web marker for close combat attacks, too?

Why not? Says any attack not just range ones right? Go to town! :>

Yea, if it said if he hit with a range attack then it would be range only, but it doesn't. Says any so that includes close combat attacks. They tend to word things to be slightly confusing and probably should have put the range part at the end instead of first.
