I am always asked this buy younger players. So I thought I would throw this out to my fellow clixters. In addition: who is the firelord of C.T?

When I mean firelord I am refering to that one fig that everyone has on a team who is really overpowered for his point value. Like old school MTG. Where weenie decks and direct damage were once the rage and every tourney had them.

Who's the fireord of "DC" or "CT"?

Your subject line is different from your actual post.

Anyway, from what I hear, Bane is the one they refer to as the FL of DC.

As for CT, I don't know.... but people love Nightcrawler. I have yet to agree/disagree on that rage on that since I don't have one.

Heheheh.... and as for oldschool MTG, I was one of the White Weenie players. That deck really rocked!

I think he's actually asking both questions at the same time to kill two birds with one stone......

my own personal opinion as to who is the most popular (ie. most used, and most bang for the point) as far as HT goes, its gotta be Ex batman

and for CT though I know there will be a ton of posts arguing the fact(but hey it's just my opinion, like I said and what do I know?)
I really think thee prize goes to spiral.

Sorry, did not want to take up a bunch of space in the subject line. I didn't think posing one more question was Tomfoolery.

I do agree that Bane has become the D.C. Firelord. As for C.T. I am undecided but leaning towards Super Skrull.

I don't really believe that there is a Firelord for HT or CT. While Bane and Batman are highly useful figures, I don't hear them constantly refered to as 'broken' either. They're just good figures. CT figs are quite well ballanced as well. I don't have any CT figure I consider to be essential to a good team.

In my opinion the power fig in CT is Logan. This click has the potential to do 12 damage in one round...nasty!

I prefer V logan on his second click because hes got a guaranteed 6 damage (if you hit the att roles) 3rd click could be 1&1 or 6&6, but I do know the average 2d6 roll is 7. Nightcrawler isn't broken I have one but I think E flash is better because of outwit. V Dr. doom w/ R Sandman, E shield medic, & R Wasp seems to me like it could be broken (look it up if you don't get it). E Batman can easily be shut down in the DC only realm. Dc is really rounded. OWAW Supes in big games may be HT's firelord, but hes technically not in HT.

For me in DC Firelord is Hawk or Dove.

Hawk for olly 45 ps have close combat expert!, atack 12 is so much.

AAAA, and Dove close combat expert and Leap/C amazing (Rokie)

And Super Sense and Fly in the Exp and V

Greetings,

I really couldn't call Bane the Firelord of DC, sure he's doing as much damage but his attack value is hardly as astronomical as Firelord's.

E Batman is close, what with stealthed outwit plus leap/climp plus Incapacitate plus two arrows plus Willpower plus a passle of other goodies.

But as far as DC goes I'm gonna say Rookie Robin in mixed builds with Minions of Doom.

If you are a purist then I'll say R/E Batman or E Booster Gold (free move taxi, 10 speed, plus toughness plus decent attack values. I love this guy.)

As for Clobberin' Time I'd say the whole "turtle" movement inspired by Invisible Girl and her shared defense of 18, a bothersome nut to crack sometimes. (unless you have a Batman in stealth on a rooftop who outwits her as Booster flies in a Firelord to rain firery destruction on them all. Mwu-ha-ha!)

My thoughts,
Thor.

Alot of people claim Nightwing is rather undervalued. I think he's an excellent click if used well. (Note: Never Push Nightwing)

The short answer is "there isn't one."

Bane has the high damage but no range, no flight and lower stats. Batman is everywhere, but with only a 9 attack & 16 def he's not as outrageous either.

Invisible Girl's defend probably is the closest in CT. Others have said Spiral, but the battle fury and low defense (not to mention uniqueness) keep her from being as abusive as the firey Q-tip.

It's a combination of things (low price, flight, 5 damage, high speed, attack & defense) that make Firelord the Firelord of IC. While other figures since may have a couple of these attributes, no one combines all of them.

And hopefully that is how it will be from here on out.

I could not agree with you more.

faricelli,

To answer your question, there are some figures that posses the ability to be over powered in HT and CT, but the do not come close to being "BROKEN", as Firelord is referred to. Exp. Batman and vet. Bane can be over powering, but neither of them fly. They are also both relatively easy to hit. Firelord's only weakness is his plumittng defense after taking damage. However, that is one of his strenghts because he becomes easy to heal. If I had to choose though, it would be exp. Batman. As for CT, well, I can't really say. My vote would go to rookie IG. For 37pts your entire team can have an 18 defense. But, IG use is extremely one dimentinal. Hope this helps!

Amen to that bro! :D

Wizkids and Jon L have done a good job of not coming out with more FL like figs. Hope they can keep it up.

I agree with Sweetcurse and Batman 1983: logan is the power fig in ct.

For Batman 1983 : you don't like the Flurry/BCF combo??? Try to team logan with a (R) Scarlet witch and welcome to dice madness!!!

I've used flurry/BCF. I play a lot of mixed so I use E black cat w/ R robin more than not (in answer to the Scarlet W & I've only got V SW). You see I just prefer ranged fights so I don't use logan a lot when I do I want it to count. thanks for the tip though I'll try it out tomorrow.

I agree with most of the people on this board that there is no real broken figure in HT or CT but if I had to choose I'd say R Steel. I was reading a thread about him and it convinced me. For 66 points you get a pretty long life, 4 Damage from range, flight, and that ever-useful Superman team ability. Plus a click or two of charge and toughness are good too. And the E+V get even better.

He doesnt have charge, just Super Strength. But I agree, Steel for the points is great both as a taxi and as an attacker. His attack value does go down pretty low later in the game though which hurts him.

Yeah, but the best part of about Bane is he keeps good stats and power for so long. In his Veteran Version, he's got 3 clicks doing 5 damage with a 10 attack. Vet. Bane alse has decent stats as well as CCE and Toughness for 7 clix, while still having that crucial defense drop at the end of his dial.

I have to say no one is as cost effective(some would say broken) as Eperianced Firelord do to his insanely high stats early in the dial, but Vet. Bane is pretty close do to his long lasting power.
