View Full Version : a couple of quickies(tk & dc map)

I have a couple of quick questions. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies with helpful info.

1) On the dc premier map(museum and multiple buildings), The outdoor map has different stairs than on the other maps. There seems to be some confusion in our groups perspective of the rules on the matter. At what point(sqare), is a character on elevated terrain(top step)? According to the rules(faq) the first square with stair terrain would be the elevated terrain(thick black line along it's edge). This seems goofy to me, but where there are rules, there are rules lawyers. Normal logic would say the building edge piece(so you would have to move through the two stair terrain squares) would be the top step. This would mean the two stair pieces are ground terrain with blocking terrain(basically a stairwell) surrounding them.

2) Can you tk a friendly fig through your other figs?
example
M=moondragon
S=spiral
O=other team members
x=empty spaces
T=where moondragon wants to place spiral
xOxxxxxxxxxx(10 spaces)
xOxxxxxxxxxx
xMxxxxxxxxxx
SOxxxxxxxxxx
xOxxxxxxxxxx
xOxxxxxxxxxT

is this legal? It says you can tk ignoring hindering terrain and figure bases, but it doesn't say you can tk THROUGH occupied squares(at least not in the faqs or pac). I think the ignoring part means if they become adjacent with enemy characters or cross hindering terrain during the movement, but I could be wrong.

thanks again,

1)
I agree there is some confusion because of the thick lines (or lack of).
Here's how you should play it:
The top stair terrain square is elevated and uses elevated rules. So the buildings are rectangular with a balcony jutting out (the stair square). The other squares are clear ground terrain with a wall (railing?) beside them.
Some judges have suggested that because of the lack of a black line between the top elevated stair square and the adjacent ground stair square that Close Combat attacks are possibly between these 2 squares. I'm sure this is not Wizkid's position but it makes a good House Rule.

2)
This is legal. I'm not sure what your implication is: that there's a difference between a figure and an occupied square? A figure can never not occupy a square so they're one and the same. Ignoring bases means going through figures (see Leap/Climb or Phasing PAC). You can't TK through walls but you can go around them & through Moondragon herself - as long as the numbers of squares the object is moving through is within range there's no problem.
