There has been some play testing in our group on how best to use Sentinel. We ran into some debate of how somethings should work. I would like some insight in this: 1) according to the rules Sentinel can carry a friendly unit like a flyer. Since he can capture two opposing units does that mean he can carry two friendly units? 2) how about capturing one opposing unit and carrying one friendly, is it do able? 3) how about if you capture one or two units and the opposing player or players destroy Sentinel where does the capture units go? Do they become points to the player who captured them? Maybe they are freed just like being rescued by the opposing team?(that would suck then why would you rescue when destroying Sentinel will do the job just as well) Perhaps the units points just disappear off the map and no one gets points for them. The only one who would get points would be the player who destroyed Sentinel.

Any suggestions or insights to this would be much appreciated. :)

1) The Sentinel/Sinestro can control 2 opposing figures, but can only carry 1 friendly figure at any one time.

2) The Sentinel/Sinestro is able to control 2 captured opposing figures and carry 1 friendly figure at the same time.

3) The 'rescued' figures would be placed in squares that were adjacent to the Sinestro/Sentinel. The player owning the rescued figures chooses which squares those are.

For now, I'm going to say that destroying the Sentinel/Sinestro will have the same effect as if attempting a Rescue action. The 'rescued' figures will be placed in those adjacent squares with an action token on them. They can be pushed in the same turn they are rescued.

3b) Points for capturing will not be awarded unless the Sentinel/Sinestro specifically spends an action to 'release the captured figures into jail'.

I'm perfectly happy to believe the above (thankyou Tsannik) but on point 2, how do you explain that from the existing rules ?

If a player who has read these posts tries that, someone else will say "...but he hasn't got three hands !"

What line should we take ?

I actually asked about this a while ago to the Judges forum. It was okayed by Chapeau.

The BigFig can always carry one friendly figure (as the BigFig is a flying figure).

The BigFig can also control 2 captures opposing figures as per the rules.

The reuls don't specifically state that he can or cannot do this. That is why I asked.

The official response was that he could control 2 opposing figures (as per the capturing rules) and carry 1 friendly figure (as per the standard carrying rules).

I guess the friendly is riding on his shoulder.

Thanks for that. Makes both Sentinal and Sinestro more useful, and actualy has an internal game logic behind it.

10pts to both Chapeau and Tsannik.

I look forward to contributing to the Judge forum, IF HobbyGames (UK distributers) ever let me have Judge Status...
